When the two are partnered together, their first assignment is a child homicide. Throughout the investigation, Lexi and Xavier must overcome their own emotions from the past to uncover the criminal behind this crime.
The two each feel a physical attraction, but try not to show it. When tensions rise and Lexi is suspended from her job; she and Xavier become friends until a moment when it becomes more.
This book is full of suspense, raw emotion and romance. Page after page, I rooted for these characters to solve the crime, overcome their demons and find love.
