Mafia Romance is my newest obsession so I knew I had to read this as soon as I saw it. I loved the story of Priscilla and Riordan. Many years ago Riordan was close with Priscilla and her dad. He was a few years older than her and they both had feelings for eachother. Riordan knew he wanted to make her his but he wanted to wait until she was 18. One year she offered herself to him but he turned her down and she ran from a party. When Riordan found her she was being attacked by 3 men and he saw red! He rescued her but he was too late to save her from SA. She left and he never saw her again until many years later. She was the girlfriend / sub of the enemy. She was undercover and looked different so he didn’t know it was her immediately but she knew who he was. That night she saved him from being shot. He took her home, had her patched up and when he found out who she was, refused to let her go.
He vows to keep her safe even though she wants to go back to finish what she started and get a promotion she’s been looking forward to. When she finally returns to the enemy to get her stored evidence, it won’t be so easy to get what she needs and leave. The Mafia doesn’t give up so easily. I really enjoyed this book and the characters. Another 5 star read from this author for me.

I enjoyed this romance. It has elements of a Suspense Thriller too which makes it different to a boy meets girl and falls in love romance. The author has the perfect mix of chemistry, attraction and danger which makes this a fast paced gripping read. It is a short read which means I read it in one sitting but it isn’t missing anything and feels like a complete read where as some shorter books can feel unfinished, however this one felt completely finished. Veronica works for IT security for a financial company. She loves her job and everything runs smoothly until the day she notices something is very wrong with one of the hard drive. As she starts to investigate she unknowingly paints a target on her back and now her well being isn’t safe. Cera is Veronica’s best friend and when she hears that Veronica is in danger she asks her brother Angus to protect her. Angus is a firefighter and he is focused on his career, the last thing he wants to do is play bodyguard to his sisters friend and definstely isn’t in the market for a relationship. But as they spend time together the chemistry between them increases and becomes as hot as the fires Angus has to fight. Can Angus protect Veronica from the danger that is after her? This book is full of chemistry and twists and turns that I did not see happening.
This was a very enjoyable, well written book. I enjoyed the character of Derek and thought that he was very well written. He seemed to have it all but yet when I was reading it I did not find him to be arrogant or someone that I had a hard time reading about. Melinda was a fantastic person to play off of Derek’s character. She was definitely spunky. I loved watching both their work and professional relationship develop. It seemed to do so very naturally and it did not seem forced or contrived. I loved how the two of them bonded together to rise above their challenges and how there were many rocky points. I definitely recommend this story. It was one that was easy to read and well written.

Bluestone County has become one of my favorite series to read recently. This book definitely functions as a standalone, but I recommend reading it with the other books in the series because they are all fantastic and it will give you a good feel for all of the characters and the small town. This book is Summer’s turn. Summer has returned home to reclaim her grandfather’s bar – the one that she has always dreamed of owning and running. However, she finds out that an old friend has bought it and is running it. Teddy bought the bar and he is a retired Navy Seal, he thought he could truly handle anything – but then he met Summer. I had gotten a feel for the characters of Teddy and Summer in some of the other books I have read in the Bluestone Series, so I was really looking forward to reading this one. I loved the dynamic between Teddy and Summer. I felt that they were very well written and that their chemistry built as the story went on. I loved how Teddy had a very soft spot for Summer that went way back and that he really looked out for her. I also felt that their dialogue was very well written. I definitely recommend reading this book and I hope that there is more to come from Bluestone County soon!

This story is short, sweet, and straight to the point. This is my first read by Adina D. Grey and it was a good read. I did however leave the story wanting more. more story, more time, more relationship building. This is such a sweet story. It would be perfect for a little one who is facing anxiety regarding anything. In this story Lilly forgets her stuffed rabbit, however, I could see this for a child who is suffering from separation anxiety, or who is beginning school for the first time. I like how this book takes the time to explain the physical symptoms that accompany anxiety and show how Lilly learns to face her anxiety. As an educator, I am always looking for books that focus on social emotional skills, this book is an amazing one that I will be adding to my repertoire. I am frequently recommending to parents books that might help with something their student is struggling with. I definitely recommend this book to all parents!

Melinda is a sharp, quick witted woman who meets a savvy buisness man who has everything he wants. Despite their mutual attraction there’s a hitch…he’s her new boss. The two team up and become an amazing duo but the attraction won’t be ignored. While this is a smaller book the author has amazing narrative that keeps the reader very engaged. This was a great book!

What can you say about a mob book where the Italians aren’t the bad guys? Brilliant!! This was my first jump into the Astoria Royals’ world. I am not at all sorry I made the leap. The characters feel real. They each have their good and bad points, except for Grigori and Maksim, they have no good.
Priscilla knew her dad wasn’t just a professor growing up. She always knew there was something more. It wasn’t until she was older that she figured out what he actually did. Her father was a hitman for the Irish Mob. Priscilla hung out with the family’s sons, especially Riordan. Riordan was her father’s favorite and she had a giant crush on him.
When Priscilla turned 17, she tried to kiss Riordan. It did not turn out the way she wanted. He said no. Riordan was afraid of what her father would do to him and he wanted to wait until Priscilla was 18 before making that move. When what Priscilla thought was a rejection happened, she took off and put herself in danger. Riordan saved Priscilla but not before several Russian Bratva assaulted her. That night changed everyone’s lives.
It is 17 years later, Riordan is the underboss of his family now. Priscilla has just come back into his world. She is not what she appears to be. This complicates both their lives. Riordan feels that this is their chance to be together despite the unusual circumstances that brought them to this point. Priscilla is on a mission and wants to finish before making any decisions about her life. But there is no time. Everything is moving at lightning speed and no one can stop it.
There is not a dull moment in this book! Between the action and the steam, one is constantly on edge. When all the secrets come out, the rawness of the moment, the reactions, the emotions is so palpable. I am adding the first two of the series to my TBR list. I can’t wait to find out how Lachan manages to get his Russian doll out of her wedding!!

I really enjoyed this book! Cruel King has a lot going on but shows character growth that I love. The author does a beautiful job with this story. A modern day Pride and Prejudice or Beauty and the Beast type story. Ava the daughter of the help. Matthias is living on his high horse with a silver spoon in his mouth. In his eyes she doesn’t belong anywhere near his family, let alone his little brother’s best friend. Yet he can’t take his eyes off of her. So he treats her badly to keep her away. Ava doesn’t understand what she ever did to him. Until she realizes he treats her that way because he feels shes beneath him. So what happens when they get snowed in together? What happens when they meet again 5 years later? The chemistry between these two is off the charts, but can they get past the material things? What about his brother? Matthias has a lot to process and decide on what to do about it. The author navigates that beautifully. I thoroughly enjoy the growth the author shows between both characters. I look forward to reading more books, hopefully about these characters, in the future. I know I’ve read books by this author in the past and I’ve never not enjoyed them. Now it’s your turn to discover if this author will be added to your favorites list.

Love it!! A story of two people coming together in a world of teacher and student fantasy. Love it. When I first read this book I was hooked when I found out that he was the teacher Chase and his mission for all time was just to get the girl and leave but Angelica was the perfect girl that every teacher wants to have in class. The author did an amazing job here putting two worlds together and coming up with a dirty secret romance with a teacher.

This was a great heartfelt read. It was hard to put this book down after I started it.
This book follows the Story of Summer and Teddy. Summer is bubbly and not one to back down from a challenge. Especially when it comes to her childhood friend Teddy. Teddy is grumpy and stubborn as a mule. As a retired Navy Seal, it’s not that surprising that he is not overly optimistic anymore.
People change a lot within five years. The person that they once knew each other as seems like a distant memory now. When Summer returns to her hometown unexpectedly and without any notice, she gets a major surprise. When she returns and finds that the one thing she was hoping to come home to was taken by none other than Teddy, she was not happy. Teddy does not let much get him riled up but Summer has always had that ability.
What happens when Summer returns to find so many changes? Will she be able to befriend Teddy again or will they be strangers with history? What happens when the reason Summer actually came home comes up? Can you help someone heal while being broken yourself?

Reticent Hawke: A Billionaire Reverse Age Gap Best Friend’s Older Sister Forbidden Romance (The Hawke Family Second Generation Book 2)
I am 100% obsessed with the Hawke family and getting to know the second generation after reading their parents stories and in some cases their birth makes me feel a little more connected to them.
This one made me feel all of the emotions. I laughed and cried. Was happy and then absolutely heartbroken sometimes all on the same chapter though it felt like same page.
Angelina’s cafe is a success life is pretty good until Alessandra started acting weird and Angie had to go to Allie’s best friend, everything changed then for all of them.
I fell in love with this family from the moment I met them seven years ago and I hope I’m still reading about them in another seven years. I can’t seem to be able to get enough of the Hawke family.
Absolutely must read this book and series. There is so many connections to the previous books that you should start at the beginning and work you way through.

I am new to this whole enemies-to-lover genre but this one became a good one because Ava and Matthies want to hate each but destiny will always find a way. One thing that I did not like about this book is that Matthies took long enough to realize that he wants Ava but he can’t come to his sense. Ava on the other hand hides it and tries to at least move forward. But overall the author did an amazing job with Ava and Matthies, showing who they are.

Toe curling heat. Wow. So, this is the third book in this mind-blowing series, and I just found it not fair. While I am relatively new to the mafia book world Deborah Garland knows how to pull the intrigue and the heat from start to finish. I will be going back to read the previous books very soon. Dual perspectives Riordan and Priscilla both have secrets, but they have history that will burn the world. Riordan O’Rourke is the underboss for his brother, meaning when two Russians are killed, he is sent to Grigori as a peacekeeper. Informing him that the Irish are not responsible, but that the Italians are. Priscilla, the submissive at Grigori’s side when Riordan is there, something about her alabaster face gives him a sense of familiarity. All too quickly he is imagining what he wants to do with her when his task is complete and he leaves, visions of her still filling his mind when. A warning that changes everything, her Russian accent is gone, and she warns him of Maksim planning to kill him, going a step further she takes a bullet for him. He can’t leave her, he needs her, he wants her. Who is Priscilla and why does she look familiar? Will Riordan be able to keep her when all the secrets are revealed? The world is complex and realistic for the most part while the characters are more. With relatable complex lives and backstories in varying degrees the author ropes you in and locks you in as she takes you on the journey of Riordan and Priscilla. Who they were and who they are now as they fall for each other against all resistance. What pulled me in to give this book a try was the no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a happily ever after guaranteed. This was the perfect Saturday quick read to leave you with a feeling of happiness and love. So much pain and fight go into the characters’ everyday lives, and yet they overcome it all and come out stronger than before, with each other at their sides. Cannot wait for the next book, Deal with the Devil, October 6th, 2023. In the meantime, book one and two here I come.

I really enjoyed this book; a lot more than I thought I would. I really struggled with putting it down for adult responsibilities. This touched on so many emotions and you could feel them coming through the pages. I can’t wait to check out what else this author has to offer us. The writing is excellent, and you feel as you are there watching it all happen. I highly recommend it.
Can you imagine finding out the guy you spent two days in a cabin with, (then start having feelings for) is a famous country star. That’s what happens in this story. This is my first time reading this author Cat Treadgold. She has created a wonderful story world that takes place in the 90s ( the best times lol). Capturing what it was like back then in great detail.(it’s crazy how far tech has come within the 20ish years). This is a slowish pace book, but it’s still a fantastic read, with passion, suspense, fame, and jealousy just to name a few. I can’t wait to read Ali’s twin brother Liam’s story(The Guardsman). I hope we get to see more of these characters. Also the mom ughhhh.

This is a new to me author and I’m glad I took a chance with this book. I had a hard time putting it down once I started. The details in this story really pulled me in. There are some twists and turns, and some of it was unexpected. I found this story to be original, intriguing and full of suspense. There are some great characters in this story, some you will like some you won’t. I didn’t want to stop reading until I found out how this story unfolds. I look forward to reading the next book in the series. I enjoyed this book.

Back to the 80s is a fun, nostalgic rom-com. If you grew up in the 80s or love the past, this is a fun reminder of what was great then. Blaine has inherited her mom’s shop, a novelty shop showing love for all things 1980s. Eric is a local developer who plans to demolish her shop to build a brewery. Can Blaine convince Eric that her shop is worth saving? This is a sweet rom-com that has me wanting to dive into some great 80s films. The characters of Blaine and Eric are good contrasts that help develop from enemies to something much better. I like Blaine because she has strong opinions and is independent. She is there to fight for the business that she loves and isn’t mooning over Eric. There are no twists and turns or anything outrageous, but due to the nostalgic tone, I enjoyed the book. I will be looking for more from this author in the future.

Back to the 80’s by S. E. Reichert and Kerrie Flanagan. This book is a fun little Rom-Com about Blaine the owner of the shop Back to the 80’s and Eric a developer that wants to develop the mall where her store is located. This is a story with a cute plot and sweet characters. Blaine convinces Eric to give her 30 days to show him how awesome the 80’s are and takes on a fun, nostalgic little ride. I really enjoyed all the 80’s references from my childhood. Blaine and Eric have wonderful chemistry. They are both lovely characters and you know reading the story that they won’t be able to resist falling in love. This is a quick and fun read. You won’t be able to resist the nostalgia and the cuteness.

Getting this case sent Scala into a many month investigation. Discovering Simona’s affair, Scala learns how good people are at hiding the truth. He begins to learn the the family involved at the root is nothing to be messed with, that for them anything for the family really means anything. You shouldn’t have an affair, but if you do, you should be cautious of who the family is behind the man you chose.

This romance focuses on the characters Melinda and Derek and although it’s short, it’s an easy and enjoyable read. There’s the billionaire element with Derek, office romance, and enemies to lovers as they get off on the wrong foot.
As they work together and overcome challenges, they begin to see each other differently and in this show some character development. The way this was written made the transition natural and believable. I also enjoyed the descriptive language used by the author, painting a vivid picture of the scenes and characters. The chemistry between the characters was built well with the slow burn romance which work well for both characters.
I loved the characters and enjoyed the author’s writing style so I hope to read more from this author soon!

This book took me by surprise in the best way. This is the first time I have read a book by this author and I am not disappointed.
Claire is going into her Senior year of high school, but is struggling because her home life is not ideal. Her mom gave birth a few months ago and has been struggling since before giving birth. It got worse after birth. Claire stepped up and has been the adult in the house.
Her plans for college though are falling out of reach when she finds out her mom has spent her college fund on her baby brother’s daycare. Little does Claire know the twists that are about to unfold when her mom is suddenly put in the hospital for some treatment.
Claire meets a fellow Senior, Chad, just as school is starting back and he becomes her lifeline. ALong with her longtime friend Madison. He gives Claire a proposition that will help her and her mom out but will she take it?
I read this book in a day. I just could not put it down. I could see this as a movie. I’m sure we all know someone that basically has lived a similar story to this.

This is a quick romance story. You know the kind, meet, hate each other, and well read this story and see how it ends. That is about how it goes for Derek and Melinda. The banter is well written, which makes this story so good. I enjoyed this author’s story, it was clear and easy to follow. The characters fit their parts well. I love everything about this story, except it ended too soon. Although with a few hours of nothing, reading this story will fill that time at the doctors or on the soccer field. This is a new to me author, but you can be sure I will be wanting more. I look forward to seeing who this author brings in her next book.

Oh man… This book… I was literally refusing sleep to finish it. The author knew what she was doing with this story. I was ALL in from the first page. This world (even though I’m from New Orleans) still manages to keep me absolutely enthralled. I felt like I was living in this family. I could just immerse myself into the whole story. I am a huge fan of this author. I look forward to many more books!

Wow. I am IN LOVE with these 2… “Nolan” and “Jack” have an INTENSE chemistry from the jump. They are ON FIRE. And while they both know it can’t be more that a fun time, they both know they’re going to be destroyed when they have to say goodbye… I fell SO hard for this book, so I’m reading the next one, and then another in the series. I’m definitely going to be reading a lot more by this author. I highly recommend her!!
