Isla Vaughn has a great series.

In this prequel is sets the precedence of cliff hangers unanswered questions, a dark past, hidden truths, lies, and bullying first loves.

She’s new to town but not to cons and this is just another assignment or so she things. Things are about to a turn; we aren’t sure if it’s better or worse. But the fact reminds this is her life now and she must adapt.
