Romance author Brooke May spends her days writing whatever her overactive imagination has brewed up and her evenings reading while she works alongside her mom. Telling stories is second natural to her, from a young age she has told anyone who would listen what she had thought up. Now, a mom of two, she splits her time writing, playing with her kids, and of course, hiking, hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling in her beloved Bighorn Mountains.

While on maternity leave with her youngest, Brooke was putting laundry away when she looked at a poem she had written in high school that was framed in her son’s bedroom. That poem triggered the idea of My Cowboy and soon she was sitting in front of her computer with her infant next to her writing her first love story that wasn’t a fanfiction.

I was diagnosed with clinical depression after the loss of my mother, father and husband within three years of each other; all to cancer. 24/7 in-home care, coupled with the loss I felt, left its mark on my psyche.

Depression takes up a lot of my life. Reading and writing are the only things I have found that help (in connection with regular medication), even if only for a short time. To escape to a different world can make a big difference in my mood in real time.

To put things in perspective, when I was at my lowest point, I couldn’t open mail, talk on the phone, or even drive to the store. Walls of sadness surrounded me. As they closed in, tears would fall. There didn’t need to be a reason or trigger.

People ask me why I started writing. My answer is simple: I wanted to create a world into which other people with similar problems could escape. I wanted to share the one place that had helped me for many years.

I have always said that as long as one person finds a little bit of happiness out of my books, I am, in my opinion, an accomplished author. The same is true for every writer out there. Please don’t ever let anyone tell you different.

I read books as well as write them and have visited the worlds many different authors have created. Those worlds not only make me feel better, but give me the strength to face real life again. I want to thank everyone who writes – I want them to know they are making a difference.

Ashley Pagano has always dreamed of being an artist both figuratively and literally. Her love of art was instilled by her mother who always inspired her to be creative either with a paintbrush or with a pen and paper. Here’s a bit about Toya and what she’s up to in her crazy author world right now. She writes mainly paranormal and contemporary romances. She’s married with one grown up son who works on cruise ships and has a cat called Masai. She lives near Ipswich in Suffolk, originally from Essex.

At present, she is writing two series. A Paranormal Romance Series, which she is self-publishing. Book three, Sweet Salvation, The Protectors Series will be released 10th April. She is also four book in to a Beach Reads series, which is with a publisher.

She’s also working on a new paranormal romance series called Hybrid Lovers and is partway through Captivated, which is book one. This one is a ménage between two Hybrid angel/vampires and their human fated mate. No release date as yet. A contemporary romance/comedy Christmas Novella is also planned for this year.

Writing has been her passion since a very early age when her mum encouraged her to use her imagination. Sadly, it wasn’t until the death of her mum, who was also her best friend, in 2009 that she started to take it seriously. Her mother’s wish was to see her published, which didn’t occur until 2014. And now, each book she publishes is dedicated to her.

When not writing, or reading, her main hobbies are; cinema, theatre, live bands, gardening, keeping fit, travelling, Formula One racing, darts and spending time with friends.

Raised in a society that treats women like cattle, Xenobia does her best to fly under the radar and not bring attention to herself. She obeys the rules, and she doesn’t get attached to people – until Urd.

After a man with extreme sadistic tendencies buys her and her best friend Urd, Xen lays awake at night planning their escape.

When Urd overhears their Master’s ultimate plan for them, even though they aren’t prepared, the girls have no choice but to run, hoping to find the underground movement and get to safety.

While, on the run for their lives, Xen learns that the price of rebellion is steep.
