5 Star Deepest Midnight: Book 1 of the Immortal Kindred Series by Clara Winter is a paranormal romance that I couldn’t put down once I started reading. I was drawn in from the beginning and kept my attention till the end. The characters are very detailed and I felt like I was going right along with them. The character Millicent is a Immortal/vampire who feels grief still because of the past. When she finds herself caught and looking into the eyes of a man whom looks like her dead love. This man’s name is Jack. There is definitely desire and attraction between these two. What will happen with these two? What will she do? Find out what happens next. I highly recommend reading this book. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Gibson is a man in hiding. After suffering an enormous loss, Gibson moves to a quiet town, hours away from his normal life. Sacha is an alcohol rep, always traveling around the area for her next sale. After a random chance encounter, these two peoples’ lives will be changed forever. I absolutely loved this story! I loved how both characters are lost in their own ways and that Renee Regent showed that a second chance at life can be right around the corner, where you least expect it. Sacha was not my favorite character at first, she is so stubborn and guarded but her characters evolution was a great one to read. Both characters have been through a lot and needed to come a long way to get what they want from life. This really was a lovely story to read and I can’t wait to read more from Renee Regent and the Love Grows Series! I give “Not So Broken” five stars!! Reviewed by @emilybee430
Luke is the first book in the Dark Water Security series. This book can be read as a standalone. There is some subject matter that may be a trigger for some readers.
I got hooked from the beginning. Even though the story is a bit predictable, it is still entertaining; and I read it in a couple of hours because I couldn’t put it down. The characters are well written and you really find yourself empathizing with Luke’s character. After everything he goes through, he still finds a way to be the person for others that he needed when he was young.
The only thing that could have made this even better was a bit of a stronger ending.

It was a good book. The second book I read in the series and this is not a normal series I would read but it was good. Kept me interested and wanting to see what happens. It was slow at some points which is why it only got four stars, but the author is so very talented. She has good eye for detail that will draw you into something even if you are hesitant. Good job! I can’t wait till the next book!

Mika Jolie hit this one out of the ballpark! I could not put it down until I had devoured every single word from beginning to end, and I loved every single uninterrupted moment of it! (Such a rare mommy occurrence LOL!) I have read several of her works before, but none of the Platonically Complicated Books and I am sad that I haven’t now, but bonus is I now have some to go devour while I wait for the next book to come out in the series.
Rules of Engagement is all about Lucas and Kate. Might I just say I absolutely adore Lucas! He is the perfect book boyfriend material ladies!! Step back I think I have claimed this one as my favorite of 2019 so far!! (Granted we are only in February LOL) He has a bit of it all! Including the hot swoony single dad vibes, gets me every time!
Both Lucas and Kate are best of friends. Their friendship has managed to stay platonic and the thoughts of more has been kept within the confines of their fantasies. Everything is about to change though when a plan to help out Lucas with his ex wife from hades starts to complicate things in all the right ways! These two were absolutely dynamite together! So much fun to read and I just couldn’t get enough! Definitely one to add to the re-read list! Can’t wait to find out what will come next! Thanks for such a fantastic read Ms. Jolie!!

Crime Lord’s Captive (Crime Lord Series Book 1) by Mia Knight. This is the story of Bank Teller Morgan aka Lyla Dalton who is on the run from her crazy ex boyfriend. Her boyfriend is the Ruthless Crime Lord Gavin Pyre in Las Vegas. What Gavin wants Gavin gets. She knows Gavin probably won’t be able to keep his promise to stay out of the Crime World but she has to stay because he’s blackmailing her. Gavin is a jerk a lot of times and I wanted to kick him. I started this series with Book 2 and I know better than to do that but I really was excited to get the history of these characters as I had a few questions when I finished book 2, I did get some of the answers I was looking for and it’s really hard to judge but I really liked booked 2 better than this one and I can’t fault the author for that since Im out of order.
The writing in this one was just as fantastic as the other and flowed smoothly…It did drag just a bit in some places but I found I still didn’t skim ahead.
I do know that I can not wait to jump in to book 3 as I’ve become completely invested in these people and this story…I’m most interested in Payton, she has had me the most confused through this story and I need to see where Alex ends up and if he can ever find his happily ever after.

I really was captivated with this story. I picked it up because I enjoy reading this authors stories. She is always able to draw me into the plight of the character and makes the story engaging within the first couple pages. This one was no exception. I was thrilled on how she introduced this large cast to us. It was easy going and one or two at a time. I was easily able to keep track. I enjoyed the story although there was a bit too many sexy times for me. I felt the story was strong enough that it didn’t need quite so much. I was still drawn to the characters and storyline. They were interesting, smart and clever. I loved the trials! It gives a good look into the princess’s strength of character.
While I am not a fan of cliffhangers I don’t really look at this as one. The main story of this book concluded and another line of the story is starting up. So I don’t feel frustration and disappointment like I do with an abrupt shocker of an ending. I just am looking forward to the next part of the story. March can’t come fast enough! …..and that cover? Very seductive!
Infamy by Seelie Kay is the second installment from the Fiesty Lawyers series, featuring all the same players from the first book, Snatching Dianna, which I read prior to reading this.
Dianna, Law Student and a new Agency recruit; teams up with the very lawyers and agents that orchestrated her rescue from a sex trafficking scheme to find out who, how, and why terrorists plan to make American plane’s dissappear, and eliminate the threat via several agencies and legal channels. This story has much more intricate detective work, and more suspense than the previous story.
This book is a 5 star read! Right from the get go its evident that although all the characters take their jobs and roles seriously, and are very much so intelligent, they all have great senses of humor. This story has some scenes that are not for young eyes! And it’s very original. I’ve never read a book with a plot similar! My Favorite part of every story, and this one is included in that, is the moment the title is revealed! Its non stop action after that.

Five Stars
Holy smoke Batman! I was not expecting this story to grab me this way. Sol is taking hit after hit. Nothing is adding up and lives are on the line. I was drawn into this book like a bug to light. Sol is depressed and can’t seem to get his life together. Multiple murders shines light on to his past mistakes. The author placed every shocking moment perfectly. It was unexpected and down right crazy. My mouth dropped so many times while reading this book. I felt Sol’s pain and wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I hope the author continues stories about Sol. He is a strong character that just needed a break. Reviewed by @gguerrero89

Movie Star by Pamela DuMond is the second book in the 21st Century Courtesan series. This book was amazing, Its very rare that I like sequels better than the first book, but this book was on fire. I read it in one sitting and couldnt get enough. The characters were so well developed and practically jump off the stage. The story line keeps you on the edge of your seat from page. This is a new author for me, but I cant wait to read more by her, whether this series or another. I give this book and author 5 stars.

An Improper Encounter (The Macalisters Book 3) By Erica Taylor. This author has definitely opened my eyes and mind to taking a liking to historical romance. I was never a fan but this series has had me rethinking that for sure. Once again the author writes a story that I just sank into and didn’t want to leave. The female main character Sarah is one of my favorites this year. I love the back and forth with Sarah and William they draw you in and don’t let go. The author does a wonderful job of writing characters and a storyline that plays out before your eyes. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it to everyone.

The Devil’s Shadow (Wild Beasts Series Book 4) By: T. Birmingham 5 out of 5 stars
The story The Devil’s Shadow (Wild Beasts Series Book 4) by T. Birmingham is a paranormal/fantasy romance book. It is a story that hooks you in from the very beginning and doesn’t let you go until you have read the final page. It is a story with action, adventure, danger, and romance. I enjoyed reading about the main characters of Kieran Gimble and Ginny Zolanski. They are characters that you grow to care about and I couldn’t help but want them to be happy. There are also many additional characters that each have a part to play in the story and I enjoyed reading about them as well. There is a feeling of comradery, friendship, and family that is strong. You can tell from the way that they banter, interact, and sometimes conflict with each other. There are both moments that are sad and break your heart as well as heartwarming moments. This is a story that has amazing world building. The lore/history and legends told are very detailed. There are times in the book that I felt like I was right there with the characters. There is also romance included in this story which touches your heart. This is the fourth book in the Wild Beasts series and I loved it just as much as the first three. I look forward to reading the next story in the series. This is a series and book I would recommend.

CLAIMED (The Torzial Affair Book 3) By: Via Mari 5 out of 5 stars
The story CLAIMED (The Torzial Affair Book 3) by Via Mari is a wonderful book that I loved reading. It is a story that hooks you in from the very beginning and doesn’t let you go until you have read the final page. It is a story that is suspenseful, romantic, and steamy. I have grown to care about the characters of Brian and Jenny since I was first introduced to them. They are two people who deserve happiness and I couldn’t help but root for them to find it. The story finds Brian doing everything in his power to prove Jenny innocent of a crime she didn’t commit. Will his power and wealth also be enough to keep her safe from the mob who want her silenced? Will he be able to protect her? Jenny and Brian’s relationship is steamy and you can feel the passion/desire that they feel for each other. As these two find their way in their relationship the trust between them only grows. There is also plenty of dirty talking, teasing, and bantering going on between them. What does the future hold for them? Read this book to find out. This story has some twists and turns to it that I didn’t see coming. There were times I was turning pages to find out what would happen next. I also enjoyed reading about the secondary characters who play their part in the story. Most of them have been brought forward from the previous books. There are characters that are like family to Jenny and Brian and I loved when they all banter and interact with each other. The author has done a wonderful job in developing both the storyline and characters. This is a book and series that I would highly recommend reading.

Not So Broken is book in the Love Grows Series by Renee Regent. I have not read anything by this author and the thought of delving into this story was both fascinating and exciting.
Sacha and Gibson are a delightful couple that I really enjoyed getting to know. I will never get sick of these types of stories and the way my heart fills and my stomach flutters nervously when things get a little tense. When the chemistry between the couple is so tangible, it has a life of its own. The charisma, the challenges, the personalities, the dramas, the intensity. All powerful emotions, all provided in this story. I loved the story, the characters, the way the story was presented. It was a fantastic read. 5 stars.

Rules of Engagement: A Single Dad Romance (Platonically Complicated Book 3) by Mika Jolie is a friend to lovers romance story that leaves you with a big sigh and feeling good. I love Mika’s writing style and her characters are always realistic but this story I loved. It was told in the male POV and I loved the difference it placed on the whole feel of the story. It was fun and delightful and damn was it sexy. The plot is simplistic yet the complexity of the emotions involved show the real and true multiple layers our characters.
Lucas’s ex is making waves and threatens the one thing he loves more than life, his daughter. Just when things seem impossible one of his best friends offers their help. One that will change the course of his life. BUT Bro code stands in his way to true happiness.
I thoroughly enjoyed the journey from friends to lovers. Jolie’s writing is always a delight and I look forward to reading more from her in the future. Light, fun and easy, with a healthy dose of chemistry and attraction that steams up the sheets makes for a wonderful read.
If you love a forbidden romance story, then Rules of Engagement is just what you need.

Not so Broken was a great 5 star read and book one in the Love Grows Series.
We start with Gibson who is living in Tilly, GA. He has been living like a recluse for the last few months grieving and trying to move forward with his life. When his father calls and gives him a deadline on coming back home, he has to decide if he will ever be ready to return.
Sacha went to Tilly to sell some alcohol to the local establishments. She is also nursing a broken heart and isn’t ready for anything serious. She ends up meeting Gibson while out at one of the local bars, and they hit it off. They end up having a very steamy one night stand.
Maybe it was the scotch, or maybe I had been pent up too long. I found myself hoping for much more than a dance with this woman tonight.
When Sasha returns to Tilly she has some shocking news for Gib. Sasha was in shock with the news herself, it was something she never thought could happen. Will the news finally bring Gib home? Will it bring him and Sasha together as a couple?
There is so much more to this great read. Gib and Sasha tested my patience at times, especially Sasha. My emotions were all over the place. Renee Regent pulled me right in with her writing. I wouldn’t mind seeing more from Gib and Sasha and I look forward to reading more from this series.

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT A PLATONICALLY COMPLICATED NOVEL by MIKA JOLIE
Five Stars
Most people will go above and beyond for family and friends. This holds true in this story. Kate is Lucas’s best friend and things start to look a little different. I didn’t like how afraid Kate was to express herself to Lucas. I prefer my characters to have a backbone. This romance was thought out perfectly. The author took the time to build a relationship meant to last. Lucas is a perfect gentlemen. He doesn’t push Kate and let’s her find her way to him on her own. I dislike people who use their children as weapons to hang. I really enjoyed the relationships between the characters all have a bond and it made fighting for Emma easy.

Seraphina’s Initiation, Book Two of the Seraphina Series, by Sheena Hutchinson
5-Stars
Seraphina’s Initiation is book two in this series. It continues the story following book one where she discovers her new abilities. Nate continues to protect and love her in this book. It is amazing how quickly she learns her combat skills. She also comes to terms with her overwhelming emotions. Nate is a wonderful teacher and she excels at all he challenges her with. I loved both their characters in this novel and also that it focused more on them. Jake and Amanda do not play as big of a role in this second book as they did in the first. I can’t wait to read more in this series. Such an excellent novel!

NOT SO BROKEN is the first book in a new series. It has a little bit of everything that makes it a “classic” romance. There are best friends, an alpha male, life altering events, angst, desire, a bit of humor, a lot of misunderstanding and so much more.
This is a story that evolves over almost a year and at times it moves very quickly and other times it’s as if the story has slowed the pace to hold onto the thread with secondary characters.
This story lays a terrific foundation for the future stories in the series. There is a very clear beginning, middle and end and was a satisfying read.

Claimed (The Torzial Affair Book 3) by Via Mari is explosive and unfortunately the end of the series. This amazing series just gets better and better. The web of pain and betrayal, lies and deceit is a cleverly woven together plot that Via has masterfully put together. As with the others in the series the storyline is a brilliant complex, multifaceted and multidimensional which has the pages turning and the story ending before I was ready. The journey with these amazing characters has been one hell of a ride. I felt every emotion possible and was on the edge of my seat the whole way. Jenny is fighting for her freedom. A precious freedom that could all be gone in a fraction of a second. Her life and her experiences will never be the same but it is all for nothing if the one person who counts doesn’t know truth from lies. The one person who knows how to take the pain away. The man she loves.
Brian will stop at nothing and no expense is spared to fight for the one thing he loves most in this world. Yes it is love and who would have thought that. But with so much conflicting information how much of it is truth and how much is lies.
I am sorry to see the series end but I can’t wait to see what comes next from Via.

“And most of all, you’ve taught me happiness can only be found within yourself, and to look to others to enhance the happiness you already have.”
This quote is from Surviving Grace by Virginia Wine. It is true for any one, in any situation.
Surviving Grace is the conclusion to Grace’s story which started in Hard as Steel. This series has many characters that over-lap into each book, so I suggest starting with book one in the Surviving Series.
I enjoyed reading this story. Virginia Wine is a good storyteller. Telling Grace’s story couldn’t have been easy, but Wine did it. Wine shows how being happy is in our control and others around us are simply there to help us grow.
I recommend this book and look forward to reading more from Virginia Wine.

Rebel Heart: Book Two of the Immortal Kindred Series By Clara Winter Rated 4 stars
At first this is a little slow. I noticed it in the last book as well. Please don’t let deter you from this….keep reading….don’t give up. It really drew me in and I wanted….no needed to know what was going to happen. It just seems there is a lot of detail (to the houses, trees and such) that I don’t really need but others might enjoy. I just want to get to the story. The talking, the feelings and the action!
Meeting Thayer…he has lived his life always thinking one way….whichever way his maker says. Once Annie enters his life he finally starts thinking along a different line. His growth through this story was wonderful. I enjoyed this guy as a character.
We met Annie in the last book and this is her story. How she came to be with Millicent and Alexandre. I am saddened by her and Alexandre’s relationship. I would have thought after 200 plus years they would have gained a camaraderie. As for Millicent I would not have realized the close friendship they had if I had not read book 1. They seemed more distant in this one. Benjamin…well I about had tears in my eyes when Annie went to visit him. Good friends are hard to find.
I highly recommend reading Deepest Midnight (Book 1) before reading this. It gives you a better idea why things are the way they are in this one. As for the ending….What the Heck? I didn’t see that coming and can’t even imagine what the next book will be about. Crazy!

Black Bullet (The Order of the Senary #2) By L.D. Rose Rated 5 stars
I loved this the further along it got! It’s a bit slow at first but picks up and moves right along so don’t give up! After reading the last book I couldn’t wait for this one. I was curious where the author would take the story. We follow Jon who is but isn’t a vampire. He has many struggles, as the book moves forward, other than the obvious. He stumbles across another hybrid one evening. There are many surprises once he tracks down this hybrid. I have to say even I didn’t see them all coming. The author did a wonderful job not giving out too much information…so I couldn’t figure out all the secrets.
I still enjoy the camaraderie between the group of hybrids. Glad they came together and all *mostly* get along. Each has their own quirkiness and irritations. All the time spent with the whole crew is always enlightening and fun, usually some of my favorite times in the books and always makes me smile.
I can’t wait for the next book! I am wanting to find out more about Shaul, Dax, even Roman. Wait I forgot one…Kaj! These guys all will have amazing stories and I can’t wait to find what makes them tick. Next please!

Seraphina’s Awakening is the first book I’ve read by this author and it’s certainly made a good impression! I completely devoured this one, once I started, I couldn’t bring myself to put it down as I had so many questions swirling around in my mind. This author wrote with an incredible amount of detail and I loved how well the story flowed. Trying to piece everything together made my reading experience entertaining and memorable!
I was very intrigued by Seraphina’s relationship with Jack and Nate so I can’t wait to dive into the next book to see how everything plays out.
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for their next fantasy read!

Rush by Megan Matthews is a phenomenal read that I loved from start to finish. It’s the first book in The Boys of RDA series, a series I can’t wait to continue with. This romance read is sweet, steamy, fast paced, emotional and truly captivating. Once I started reading, I couldn’t bring myself to stop! Aspen and Finn really intrigued me, and I loved how their relationship progressed so quickly, they fit together perfectly!
I found myself easily following along to the story as it was told with so much detail that it felt as if I was right there with the characters, and who doesn’t love that?
I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next romance read!

Not So Broken (Love Grows Series Book 1) By Renee Regent 5 Stars
Who doesn’t love a story with a troubled hero and a feisty heroine?? Not So Broken by Renee Regent delivers this in spades with the first book in her Love Grows Series. A first-time reader of this author for me but I was pleased with a well-written story, great characters, making this book hard to put down.
Gibson has known tragedy. The guilt and remorse he feels have left him reeling and feeling unworthy of anybody’s trust and convinced that he will be alone forever. Yet an unexpected connection is made with the feisty Sacha and now it is his turn to convince her to give their budding romance a chance.
Sacha has pulled herself up from her bootstraps and forged a new life. Set on living her life the way she wants and achieving the goals she has set for herself. But fate has thrown a curveball at her and she is left wondering if she is ready for these new changes. She was convinced nothing would alter her new life path but will this unexpected relationship with Gibson change her thinking?
Ms. Regent pulls the reader in with these engaging characters. You can’t help but have deep feels for Gibson and cheer Sacha on her independence and strength. The chemistry and deep connection these two forge throughout the book only enhances the story. I truly enjoyed getting to know these characters and the story was fresh and enjoyable. I look forward to more books by Ms. Regent and highly recommend this book for your TBR list.
