Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan Book 2) by Pamela DuMond is another exciting book in this great series. You must read the others before reading this one as this one takes off where the last one ended. It is a bit of an emotional read, full intrigue and mystery, pain and suffering and hot, sexy men who need to find the one thing that has stopped them from moving forward. It is well written and the great characters are well developed, complex and multi layered. I read this book in one sitting, from start to finish, as I was enthralled, there is so much going on in this book and there was never a time that I wanted to put it down.
Evie, is beautiful and worth every bit that she is paid. She is the one woman who can get to the root of the problem, where so many others fail and helps men heal but she is still wrapped in the pain of her past and is becoming more conscious of what people see her as. Now the pieces of her life are starting to come out and she sees her mother in a different light. It also seems she can not hide from her stalker and her past.
I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the series and see what happens next.

This is book two in “The Order of the Senary” series and it can absolutely be read as a stand-alone. Like the first book in the series, BLACK BULLET starts as if you are jumping into the middle of the story. There are characters and locations that you have to get to know quickly because the story moves along at a great pace.
This is one of those books that, at times, I found myself reading faster and faster just like the scene was progressing. That breathless jogging along because it feels like you are watching a movie feeling. The writing is incredibly visual and gory at times (there is a scene about a woman dancing with intestines like they were feather boas) – it’s like paranormal and horror all built into one delicious story. The layering of the story enhances the richness in the telling.
I don’t think this is one of those books that you can multitask while reading. I think it deserves 100% of your attention from beginning to end.

Finding the right partner is always difficult even when the meeting is easy. When you take that next step and decide it’s really love. But what people I think people miss is that having a person to talk to or that takes care of you is different then loving someone. Penny and Alex learn the differences and it takes their relationship in a different direction. As the story progressed I noticed the moments that seemed forced between them. I noticed their need for independence. The author put a spot light on relationships that are done out of convenience. Relationships based on fleeting emotions. Rules of Engagement, by Mika Jolie, is the third book of the Platonically Complicated series. This single dad romance that is sweet, witty, fully charged and a great read!! Lucas and Kate burn the pages of this story with their push and pull; their dynamic creates such a great story line, you cannot resist it. Lucas is a strong character; it plays well through the story with his strong values where they relate to his daughter and the lengths he is willing to go to ensure she has the best life. No wonder Kate is willing to stick up for him and give him the additional help he needs. Kate is sassy, spirited and her own individual that shines. She is magnetic and others cannot help but to admire her, as well as, be drawn to her. Mika Jolie is a talented writer and her stories are always a reading pleasure and Rules of Engagement sits firmly in a must read category for romance lovers that enjoy a little bit of drama, with a dash of hot/sexy and a pinch of something tasty to go along with it!

Clara Winter’s Rebel Heart is the second book of the Immortal Kindred Series. Rebel Heart is Annie’s story, who played a supporting role/secondary character in the Deepest Midnight, the first book of the series. In Annie’s story, we’re taken back in time. Of note, this story includes both the past and present. As the story unfolds we learn more of Annie, who she was, the choices she made and how they’ve come to shape who she is today. It’s not often that an author’s second story in a series outshines or surpasses the previous book(s), but Rebel Heart has done that. Clara Winter’s storytelling is creative, fresh, appealing and full of emotional charges – both positive and negative. I have fallen in love with this series as essence of the pasts reconnect with today, it’s truly an invigorating read.

The Light at Dawn by K. L. Montgomery is an emotional, heart wrenching story, that follows two parents that have lost their children due to suicide. The book explores darker themes, discussing sensitive material that may be upsetting to certain readers. But the book does a beautiful job of handling such a sensitive issue with utmost care and support. Montgomery does a masterful job of weaving two stories into one, with evocative writing that will not only have you crying like a baby, but leave you permanently impacted. It is a beautiful tale of heartbreak and strength, and the effects of how deeply people impact your life. I really really enjoyed this book, despite how much I cried whilst reading it. But it is brutally honest and eye opening to see how these two characters handle their grief, and how they try to keep moving forward, when they’ve lost so much. I highly recommend this book to everyone, as well as encourage everyone dealing with mental health issues to seek help. It ain’t weak to speak. 5/5 stars!

A great read about survival. Jon is a vampire in a group of hybrids trying to travel the world from leeches. When he takes down a coven, he clashes with Lawan a hybrid fighter. Intrigued, he follows her as an old enemy of Brooklyn returns for vengeance. Can Jon A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Jons harsh nature but kind underneath or Lawan strong and frierce but caring underneath. Great cast of supporting characters like the strong and silent Rome or the kind Shaul. I loved the visual detail throughout the novel in the sense of ruin with the empty church and deserted streets and dark alleyways, a world once colourful brought into darkness with the iinsurgency. Or the the combination of the carousel music and the bloodbath scenes for the sense of the macabre beautifully written and spinechilling. Also loved with the scenes in the hospital which grabbed the readers attention straight into the action I loved the combination of realism with hospitals and sci fi dystopia land. I loved the twists wig the hybrids as a wonderful addition to the fantasy genre with ice powers and fire and the shapeshifter. The only issue I would raise is that it was unclear as to the difference between leeches and vampires why they were fighting them except to save the world. Fast paced action and high stakes made for a captivating read. overall, a great read and I would give it four stars.

Infamy by Seelie Kay is the second book in the Feisty Lawyers series. This can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the first book before this book. The series continues with agent Cade Matthews and his wife Constitutional Law Professor Janet MacLachlan. The two have been brought into a plot that involves the lives of many. Can they figure everything out and save the people? This is a good read that kept me reading. I like the interactions between the characters and the continuing story of Cade and Janet. I enjoyed the suspense and action. This is a series that keeps me wanting more. I like the intrigue and look forward to reading more.
Deepest Midnight by Clara Winter is the first book in the first book in the Immortal Kindred series. The story is set in modern-day Savannah, Georgia with some flashbacks to the 18th-century French court. Millicent is an immortal vampire who meets an actor who looks like her long lost love of ages ago. I really like Millicent and other characters. I was drawn in by the story and loved the flashbacks to her mortal life. The secondary characters were great. I really look forward to reading more from this series.

Infamy (Feisty lawyers Book 2) by Seelie Kay. This is a fast paced mystery with lots of intrigue. Its the story of Sheikh Harun Ali an International Law Attorney and his wife Marianne who are lured into a scary plot that is against the US. They enlist the help of their good friends and neighbors Cade a covert Agent and Janet a Law Professor. They are looking for a supposed plane buried in the middle of no where in a cornfield. Will they be able to find it in time. This book is so good and a quick read. It will keep you on the seat of your pants and flipping pages like crazy. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Not So Broken by Renee Regent is the first book on the Love Grows series. This book will carry you along on an amazing storyline that will be sure to tug at the heart strings. Having read a few thrillers lately I loved the fact that I knew what to expect from a book like this. It made it so easy to lose myself in the story for an afternoon and think of nothing but what was happening on the pages in front of me. The book had a great emotional element to it as well which really draws you in and keeps you reading. This was a great way to start a new series and I am looking forward to book 2.
The Light at Dawn is a beautiful story by K. L. Montgomery. The story is about the love story of Angelia and Mark. It is a gripping and tragic tale that morphs into a beautiful love story. At times, oh so heartbreaking to read, I felt my heart grow bigger and bigger at the end of each chapter.
Angelia and Mark suffer unimaginable tragedy. The author tells it from different perspectives, and while it doesn’t seem possible for it to ever work, somehow the elegant and soulful way this author delivers a story, it just all fits, both the heartbreak and the happiness. The balance of these elements is often tough to pull off, but K. L. Montgomery does it spectacularly. A tale of living life, experiencing loss and heartbreak, to rebuilding your life and reviving that spark that made the characters shine. A practitioner of words, this author gave me an unforgettable moment where I got to know her people, cried with them, hurt with them, laughed with them, loved with them, healed with them.
A memorable story that contains sensitive content, but is beautiful in it’s profound and persistent uniqueness. 5 stars.

The Light at Dawn by K. L. Montgomery is one story that I recommend you read. This is a new author for me. I have learned that Montgomery does an amazing job of building her characters so that the reader of her story can have a bond with them. I have taken the emotional journey with Angelia. As I was reading the story, I felt more like a sister with Angelia instead of someone just reading her story. This story is about love, loss and healing process. Mark feels like he has lost everyone and everything. He wanted to stop the horrible felling that a parent goes through if they lose a child. I advise having a box of tissues close while you read this story.

Movie Star is the highly anticipated second instalment in the 21st Century Courtesan Series by Pamela DuMond. I can’t get enough of this series, and characters! Ms. DuMond won me over with the first book, and earned herself a spot on my ‘must-read’ list. As this book picks up right where the first book left off, and has quite a few recurring characters, I really recommend reading book #1 before starting on this one- as the first book gives all the important backstory and character introductions, which you should know in order to fully appreciate this brilliant book! As with the first book, this one made quite an impression. It’s got originality in spades, while being complex, funny, HOT, sexy, erotic, suspenseful, mysterious, and intriguing- which is the perfect recipe for an addictive read. As we discover in book one, Evelyn Berlinger (Evie) is an empath who had quite a tumultuous childhood, especially one particularly tragic event which changes her life forever. Because of this tragedy she suppressed her empathic abilities- shutting them down and just tried to get on with her life. But on reaching adulthood, she was left with no choice but to take on the financial responsibility for her family, which put a heavy strain on her, and her finances. So, when an opportunity arises that would enable her to earn a lot of money- Evie accepts. And that’s how she started working for the ‘Ma Maison Agency’, as a high priced escort- using her empathic abilities to provide a unique experience for her wealthy clientele, who willingly pay her costly fee to help ‘heal’ whatever has ‘broken’ them and is ‘holding them back’. But her ‘job’ hasn’t been without its problems, and Evie now wants out. She’s down to the last few clientele, and we get a front row seat to it all. In this book Evie flies out to Los Angeles, to work with A-List actor and Oscar contender, Jake Keller. Jake should be using the Oscar opportunity to catapult his career to dizzying heights- but instead he’s become closed off, shut everyone out, and retreated from the world. His ‘team’ is concerned for him and his career- and as a last resort, Evie is called in to ‘help’ him find and deal with his issue. But this won’t be such a simple task. There is a lot playing out under the surface- with secrets, guilt, hidden agendas, and Hollywood politics, all coming into play. Then, add in a crisis back home, an on-going ‘stalker’ issue, and a unexpected work situation….. and this story really takes off!!! I loved Evie from the moment I met her in book #1, she’s a fantastic character- wonderfully complex, unique, endearing, interesting, and entirely memorable- I have loved every second of her story and have become completely invested in her and the outcome. I loved meeting Jake this time round, his story was unexpected, but really well done. I also love all the secondary, characters, who really added their own ‘stamp’ to the story. There are a few characters who stand out and intrigue me, and I hope we will get to know much more about them in the next book/s. Now I really can’t wait for the next exciting instalment, “Beloved”, to be released- soon, I hope!!!! SQUEEEEE Bring on book #3!!!

5 Star The Perfect Duchess ( 3 Macalisters Book 2 ) By Erica Taylor is a historical romance book that I had a hard time putting down once I started reading. There are a few twists and turns that had me turning the pages fast trying to figure out what happens next. I love the characters of Clara and Andrew. These two are very relatable and I just love them. What happens when her life is threatened Can he protect her? I highly recommend reading this Book and if you haven’t read the first book I’d recommend reading it as well. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Eight Steps by Taylor Sullivan a five-star read that will help you get your nerd on. This is the first novel in the Nerdy by Nature series and the next needs to be here. This should come with a warning, do not drink while reading as you are likely to spit it out, I laughed so hard I wore my drink. I got my copy after the re-edit and it was great, it showed us how bad editing can ruin a great book after reading some of the other earlier reviews. I knew I wanted to read this as I adored another book by this author, and I am glad I did as it was so much better. Elliot was great, he had a great charm about him and when you get to know him, he will clearly become a fave new book boyfriend.

I have read most of this author’s work and I can honestly say, I truly enjoyed them all and this book was no different. This could be either a forbidden friends type of a book or even a best friends little sister book but either way it was a fabulous read. Lucas wants to focus on his life with his daughter but his ex wife is wanting to make things extremely difficult for him. When his best friends younger sister, Kate, who is also a great friend to him, comes up with a way to calm the bitter custody battle. She will become his “fake” fiancé. Sounds like an amazing plan….. except that Lucas has been having thoughts about Kate for a while now…. and Kate has always had a crush on Lucas. What could possibly go wrong, or right………. All I know is that this is definitely a must read!! You will fall in love!!

Deepest Midnight was a brilliant read; I was hooked from beginning to end. The author‘s writing was excellent, the story flowed well, it was easy to read and very engaging. The author’s attention to detail was great which made it even better to read. The characters were well thought out and developed well over the story. Vampire stories are amongst my favourite paranormal romance reads but I do find sometimes they are much the same so I liked that this one was a little different, I could tell the author had really thought about what she was writing about and which direction she wanted her characters to go in. There was a dark undertone to the story too which I particularly liked. I enjoyed the little snippets into Millicent’s past and finding out more about her. Overall I thought that this was a fantastic paranormal romance read with some great twists and turns which left me guessing what was going to happen! I am really looking forward to reading book 2 in the series and I highly recommend this one!

In book two, Evie focus on healing heart throb movie star Jake Keller. Her character seems to have matured more since the first book of the series and she faces several daunting tasks in this novel. I love her character even more in this book than I did in the first book. She embraces herself in this book and really steps it up. I am extremely curious who her Fan is. The storyline flowed easily in this novel keeping my attention. It was written well and I look forward to reading more in this series.

I give Rebel Heart: Book Two of the Immortal Kindred Series by Clara Winter, 4 stars. *This review may contain spoilers from book one of the series.*
We met Annie in book one, but she was just a secondary character. This book shows you her story, how she became who she is today. She was a Rebel spy, working to help bring the English to their knees. She does all she can, but she always wishes she could do more. She wants to be stronger, like the men she works with. Then she gets captured by the Hessians. She is no fool, she knows her life is soon over — and it will not be an easy death from what she has heard of these evil men. But then the unexpected happens. A man with the most captivating eyes comes into where she is being held and helps her escape. She has no idea why, but she is drawn to him. He seems different, almost more than human. But this was only a chance meeting, surely she will never see him again. She can’t stop thinking about him, though. Then she meets and quickly befriends a woman who seems to have the same certain qualities as her soldier. When she learns what they really are, she wants to be like them. It will give her the advantage as a spy. But what will become of her after the war? What about the man she can’t stop thinking about? Little does she know just how much the future holds for her.
Most of this book is set in the past and therefore does not really connect directly with book one. However, there are some events that happen that will make much more sense if you read book one first. That being said, I loved this book. I took an immediate liking to Annie and was so happy when I found out this book was about her. She has such passion and drive. She does not give up, doing what needs to be done. She was way ahead of her time, yet adapts easily to the time she is in. Thayer is also an interesting character. You really do understand why he is the way he is in the beginning of the book. Plus you see Annie melting his heart, and she doesn’t even realising how much she is changing him. Yes, this is a love story. But there is so much action going on with the war, then subsequent things happening later on in the book. Oh, you didn’t think I’d give it away, did you? I can tell you that there were surprises I never saw coming. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book.
I highly recommend both of the books in the series. You will not be disappointed.

WOW! She did it again!! Sacha is killing me with these books! I loved the second book in this series just as much, if not more than the first book. Again it was a rough start for me but as I kept going the story got more and more intense! I would definitely recommend reading the first book before tackling this one, as it gives insight to the characters in the second book.
In this story we get to see Darren and Luisa’s lives, and how the events in the first book are affecting them as a family and married couple. I love that the story is told in both point of views, this way I can get a feeling for both characters and how they are feeling and what they are thinking.
Luisa makes me so mad. She is irritating and not in control of her feelings. Do you love your husband of 12 years enough to fight for your marriage and try to overcome all the obstacles you have faced together? Would you rather sneak around with the man you had an affair with 4 years ago and ruin any chance at keeping your family together? She goes on and on about how she loves her husband and then when he sticks around even through her infidelity, because he does love her and want to keep his marriage together not only for him but the kids as well, but she continually throws Nicole in his face and then still tries to hide her relationship with Gianni. She doesn’t hide her relationship so much as the relationship is now out in the open, but she keeps their conversations private and to me that is still terrible because of Gianni’s feelings for her.
Darren is not innocent in all of this, but he is still pretty bad off. From the first book we know he is in love with Nicole even though he won’t admit it to himself. It does irritate me that he continually thinks about her and has the nerve to complain about Luisa’s actions. I hated how he kept saying Nicole was the one who ruined his marriage when really it was his own fault as well as Luisa’s and they dragged Nicole and Chris into their mess. In the end Darren gives Gianni a proposition and I am overly excited to see how it all plays out.
Overall this series has been a completely fantastic read. The length of the books kind of threw me off at first but, I promise reading this series all the way through will be totally worth it. I finished this book in 2 days and was devastated when it ended. I will be eagerly awaiting the 3rd book.
This was my first book by this author and I loved it…Was a fun break from the heavier books I’ve been reading lately, not that I don’t love those as well but this one was a lot of fun..Don’t get me wrong there were times I wanted to slap someone or throw my kindle at the wall but in the end I was completely satisfied and can not wait to read more of this series and want to check out whatever else this author has available.
I loved the main characters Aspen and Finn and love their names even, and something I thought made the book that much better was the friendships and family members that were written. This author also took great care in describing locations, something I find sometimes to be too wordy and cause me to skim, but this one had me actually picturing everything in my mind and I truly appreciated that.
I highly recommend reading this story and I’m sure if you do you will be as excited as I am to read more.

I do really love indulging in a dark twisted mafia book sometimes it can be hard to find a great one well this one was fantastic from start to finish. There is so much going on with all the action and drama it had me sitting at the edge of my seat i was absolutley captivated by the storyline i just couldn’t put it down. I’m very eager and excited to read more from this author, very talented and you will get completely lost in the story brilliantly written.

Really?! Omg that ending…not a mind altering cliff hanger but enough of an unfinished story to have me wanting to pull my hair out!! This is my second book by this author with Book 1 Player being my first and I loved Player but this one..Holy Buckets was so completely awesome I don’t even have the words.
Many truths came out in this part but not enough to have it all figured out and my heart is just broke with some of the revealed secrets that came out in this one. I can’t even begin to predict where this author is going to take the rest of this story, she is handling it beautifully and Im not going to go into anything that may ruin the reading of both books by others.
I have fallen head over heels for this author’s writing, its flawless in my opinion and there is no added content throughout that would normally make a person skim through…and so easy to read and before you know it your done and sitting there wanting to throw something.
I loved it and highly recommend you start with book 1, I can’t imagine starting with this one I really and truly don’t think it would work.

The twists and turns had me on the edge trying to figure out what happens next. What will happen when they find themselves desperate to find a lost plane in a cornfield? Who is behind it? The story Surviving Grace: Book Five (Surviving Series) by Virginia Wine is a romantic suspense book. It is a story that drew me in from the very beginning. I have truly enjoyed reading the first four books in the series and this the fifth one was just as wonderful. This is a story that is emotional. There are heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. My emotions went up and down the entire time I was reading it. I enjoyed reading about Grace. She is a beautiful and strong woman. While the darkness of her past has her feeling broken at times, she has an inner strength that just won’t die. It is sad at times to read how she feels and how she sees herself. Grace is a character that I have grown to love since I first read about her. My heart went out to her and she is someone that I only wished happiness for. She is a character that you just want to embrace. Read this book to find out what the future has in store for her. There are times when I wondered what was going to happen next. The suspense had me turning pages. I also enjoyed reading about the characters that have been brought forward from the previous books. You get a feeling of family when they are together as they banter/interact with each other and Grace. There are romantic and steamy moments in this story. The story has a smooth flow to it and doesn’t let you go until you have read the last page. Don’t miss out on the latest amazing story sure to win over your heart. It is a story that hooks you in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. It had me turning pages in suspense wondering what was going to happen next. The book moves at a fast pace. While reading you can’t help but wonder just who is the one responsible for the homicides that are occurring. I felt like I was trying to put together a puzzle. I enjoyed reading about the main character of Detective Sergeant Solomon Gray. He is a man that lost his son. He feels the guilt that he was there and couldn’t stop it. Not knowing if your child is just missing or dead is very trying on a parent and Gray doesn’t always make the best choices when trying to calm his mind and numb the pain. When he is called to the scene of a teenager who has died, Gray can’t help but realize the boy would be the same age as his son. What begins next is an investigation that will lead Gray down dark paths. Will Gray find the shooter of Reverend David Hill and of the other bodies that are now piling up? Read this book to find out. There are many additional characters that you are introduced to in this story. While many of them are workmates there are also those who have their own agenda and I found myself wondering who they really were. Full of drama and suspense this is a book that you don’t want to miss out on. Highly recommended reading. It is the first story in a series and I look forward to reading the next one.

The story A Cold Dark Place (Cold Justice Book 1) by Toni Anderson is a wonderful book that I loved reading. It is a thrilling story that also has mystery and romance. It is a book that hooks you in right from the beginning and doesn’t let go until you have read the final page. I found myself on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I enjoyed reading about the characters of Alex Parker and Mallory Rooney Alex is a man that is part of a secret government agency that takes care of those who harm others before they reach the justice system. He is good at what he does. He also holds onto guilt from the past. Special Agent Mallory Rooney is a woman who is beautiful, strong, and independent. She has always felt guilt over the abduction of her identical twin sister. She has always lived in the shadow of that event. Both Alex and Mallory have a past that haunts them. They are both characters that I grew to care about with each chapter that I read and wanted them to find happiness. What will happen when Alex is ordered to watch Mallory because of questions she is asking about a vigilante killer? Is Mallory in danger now that she has started investigating a serial killer? There is an attraction between Alex and Mallory. Will the feelings/emotions that they have be destroyed by the lies and betrayal of Alex’s life? What does the future hold for Mallory and Alex? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had me turning pages. It is suspenseful. The story is written with a lot of detail regarding the investigation of a serial killer and I felt like I was right there with the characters trying to put together the clues and leads of the case. I also enjoyed reading about the part that many of the secondary characters had and their interactions with Alex and Mallory. There is intense and romantic dialogue. There are some steamy moments that make the temperature in the room rise. There are twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. Don’t miss out on an amazing story that had me reminding myself to breathe! I highly recommend it.
