Note to self: Pay attention to book length. I was not prepared for this book to end so quickly! Like other Kimberly Packard books I have read, I didn’t want to put down The Crazy Yates, and read it in one setting. I highly recommend it and all her books. She writes in a way that you feel like you know the character. She is very descriptive and the characters are genuine and realistic. This is a short story about the Yates family, specifically Callie, the oldest daughter. She is left to look after her family when her father develops such bad anxiety and agoraphobia he cannot leave the house, and her mother cannot handle it and bails. Leaving Callie to raise and take care of her father, and younger brother and sisters. It seems like bad luck piled on bad. Will Callie get a Christmas miracle this year?

The Crazy Yates by Kimberly Packard is a Christmas novella that broke my heart a little bit while reading. I felt so bad got Callie at first, when it rains it pours especially with the bad and that is the case for Callie and her family.
Helping raise her younger siblings and being the sole financial support has caused her to grow up way too soon. As the oldest she felt like it was duty, which I understand since I had to do the same thing.
One fateful trip to Amarillo changed so much for Callie and her family for the better.
This is definitely a feel good Christmas story. But I would love to see more of the Yates family.

This is my favorite book in this series yet. I read a lot about single moms but its great to read about strong single dads. Webb finally has his life together until his five year old daughter he never knew about turns his life upside down. Then he meets Lily. Not only instant attraction but she could be the one to help turn his life right side up again. I loved these two, their chemistry is off the charts. Will they be able to resist each other? I highly recommend reading their story!

The story The Shape of Trust (a Stand By Me novel Book 5) by Brinda Berry is a new adult/romance book. I absolutely loved reading this story. It had me hooked from the very beginning. It is a wonderful romance book that I couldn’t get enough of. I loved reading about the characters of Webb Walters and Lily Rose. Webb is a man that may have had a wild side in the past however is now walking a different path. He has just learned that he has a daughter he knew nothing about. She needs him. Lily is a woman who is wonderful communicating with those she meets. She is caring and compassionate. She is someone who helps others. Just the sort of person who offers to help Webb out in caring for his daughter. These two have an attraction to each other. There is a desire/energy and chemistry between them. Will they try to keep their relationship professional/businesslike or will they give into their emotions/feelings for each other? Will they find their happiness with each other? Read this book to find out. Both Lily and Webb are characters that I grew to care about with each chapter that I read. You want them to be happy. The story has moments that warmed my heart and made me smile. There is flirting/bantering and some steamy scenes that make the temperature in the room rise. This is a story that flows smoothly and had me glued to the pages until I was finished. I would definitely recommend reading it.

This book was a very short read but full of emotion. I enjoyed reading this story, I wish it would have been longer. Callie is a young but strong woman trying to take care of her family, but feeling like she’s failing. Although there are some struggles having teenagers and an agoraphobic father in the house, there is also a very strong family bond. Will the Yates be able to overcome their struggles? Will Callie make the right decision and tell her family? To find these things out you must read this emotional story. I recommend this book.

Santa’s Little Helper is a fun, short holiday read by Shaan Ranae. This is the first book I have read by this author, however it definitely won’t be the last. I truly enjoyed the witty dialogue and the plot was intriguing it held my attention from beginning to end. There were some very steamy love scenes and a happy ending. This is one of the better Christmas stories that I’ve read this year. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a short fun read.

The Progeny Assassin is the second book of PA Wikoff’s Forgotten Woods series. While I don’t necessarily think you need to read the first book in the series to follow along with this book’s storyline, I enjoyed having read the first book prior. The Progeny Assassin is one of those books that transports you to another time and place until the story is over. The description in PA Wikoff’s writing is impressive, it’s dark and captivating all at once. The characters in this book are as unique and exciting as is the twisting storyline! I’ve always considered myself to be someone that wasn’t a fan of fantasy type reads but as of late I’ve really been exploring the genre more. This book and really the Forgotten Woods series has truly captured my attention. I look forward to reading more from PA Wikoff.

Untrainable by Jamie Schlosser a five-star read that will make you purr. What a fun read, ‘Theo-Dog’ Legend was so much fun to read, he was such a surprise to read as his first impression wasn’t a good one, but that’s what made the story so good and honest. He needs the TV show to show everyone how he can behave with some good treats like a good boy should. Hadley Holiday is Americas sweetheart and with the help of her side kick Matilda she will be able to show the world you can teach an old dog new tricks and giving us a great story along the way. So long as the treats keep coming so will the good behaviour wont it? Buy the novel and find out, you won’t be disappointed Jamie Schlosser is a great author who brings us story’s that make you smile as well as blush.

That is when Josh sees her, he is the owner of the agency, the only difference is that he is based in New York. The attraction between the two of them is instantaneous. When Josh asks Haylee to leave her current job and move to New York to be his assistant, she is shocked. She has nothing holding her to LA, her parents are both deceased, so what does she have to lose? So to have sex and strictly sex, it is a win win for them both. Is it possible for them to truly keep it only sex or will feelings and emotions get in the way? Or have the feelings been there from the very beginning??? I promise you will not be disappointed with their book.
Bet Me Something- Book Three Colby Singer is a playboy manwhore. Or is he???? He is Josh’s younger brother and he lives out in LA, running his own production company. Kenzie Lane is just graduating from college. She is Brian’s younger sister. She has been in love with Colby forever. Is she really in love or is it just an old fashion crush? When the opportunity arises, Kenzie jumps on it, literally. She can tell that Colby does care about her and not in the little sister kind of way that he tells everyone. After her graduation party, Colby takes her to Vegas for a little get away time. Will what happens in Vegas, stay in Vegas? They end up kissing an a bet, and that is when Kenzie starts to see that Colby is just an average guy. And that she had him in a pedestal for entirely too long. Once back in LA, they start to get back into their routines until there is an accident and Kenzie is seriously hurt. That is the day that Colby realizes that he needs her in his life. Will their families be able accept them as a couple or will they tear them apart? Can a relationship start out at friendship and then grow and turn into pure true love? Take this journey with Colby and Kenzie, you will not be sorry!! I absolutely loved the dynamics of this couple. I knew that from reading bits and pieces about them in the other 2 books, when they finally came together, it was going to be great!!! I can not wait to see what else is in store for this gang and their friends…..
Santa’s Little Helper by Shaan Ranae was a quick, cute read for me.
When a department store Santa ends up dying, Jake must take matters Into his own hands. Jake is the worst choice for a Santa because he really doesn’t like children. He does however become quite fond of one of Santa’s helpers. Sam yells at the fake Santa not realizing he is her boss. When she finds out, she expects to be fired but Jake can’t seem to do that. He has other visions of her. Instead he gets her to help him find the perfect Santa for his store. All of this is happening while Jake is planning to expand with the help of Marcum & Heath.
What will happen to the future of Laurel Department Store? What will happen to Jake and Sam? Will she make it home to see nana and will her feelings change towards Jake during the holiday season. I thought this book was well written and a sweet read.

Paladins Hell by Manda Mellett is the first book in the Satan’s Devil Mc Colorado Chapter. This book is a spin-off of her previous series. Everything about this book for me was all about the emotions. I was sucked in from the start and could not let go of these characters. They fully took me on their journey from the moment I read the blurb. I knew that I wanted them to work and that I wanted them to find a way. This author is one I am growing to love with every book I read. I cannot recommend this author enough!

Lara is so tired of her master. Nothing she ever does is good enough. Sometimes it feels like she just can’t take it any more. But her and her master are the only feathered folks left. Then one day, her master heads out to clean up one of Lara’s “messes”. This is unprecedented. Master never leaves the house. To make matters worse, she doesn’t come back. Lara finally decides to go out and look for her. She is smart and old enough, she can take care of herself. Leaving with only a weapon she created herself, the things her master has taught her, and her wild imagination, she sets out on a journey unlike one she could ever have imagined.
This is a great young adult fantasy book. Although not human, Lara resonates with most teens. They think they are ready for it all, but they really aren’t. Not that they will admit it. The story itself is great. The things met along the way, the things she learns, will enrich her knowledge. And the detail you come to expect in high fantasy is here in spades.
I highly recommend this book. Reading book one is not necessary to understand this one, but I do think it should be read because it is so good.

The Something Series by Audrey Bondurant is a great set of stories that will pull you in from page one and keep you enthralled throughout each book. Each book focuses on two characters, and how the attraction and chemistry builds and grows throughout the pages. The feelings between each couple are undeniable and I found myself falling for each of them while reading. The characters all were created equally and deeply connected throughout each book, so I highly recommend reading all the books in order from this fantastic series. If you are looking for a great series by an author that will keep you enthralled from book to book than this is a series you need to add to your TBR pile. I can’t wait for Bondurant to bring even more books to her devoted readers.

Surviving the Storm by Virginia Wine is the second book in her Surviving Series and it just keeps getting better and better. Following the story of Alexander Kincaid Storm III and Madison Perry and it easily got me lost in the pages. Full of mystery and suspense this contemporary romance will keep you on your toes from beginning to end. From the beginning of their love story, the chemistry is off the charts and the passion between them could short circuit your readers. Madison is the classic unavailable gal, but Alexander’s feelings for her are too strong to deny. The pull between them in undeniable, and yet the future between these two could be uncertain. Can something that burns so hot and fast be something that lasts forever? Wine is a newer to me author, having only found her with this series but I am so glad I picked this one up. The characters are full of emotions, there was steam and mystery and just enough heartbreak to make for a great book. If you are looking for a great series by an author that will pull you in from the beginning and never let go. I can’t wait to see where this series goes in the future. This is a definite must for anyone looking for great steamy romance and mysterious love stories.

The Confectioner’s Truth (The Confectioner Chronicles #3) by Claire Luana was an epic conclusion to a equally epic series.
The final book in The Confectioner Chronicles, we are taking to the secrets that Wren hides, and ones we finally get to learn the full truth about. Picking up almost where the last book leaves off, there is no stopping this epic fantasy. As the danger lurks closer, the suspense thickened, I was on the edge of my seat for most, I at times even forgot to breathe! This book, was damn near perfect, and as much as I didn’t want to leave this world, or these characters, all things must come to a end. I have to say, as this being one of my favorite series of 2018, I’m feeling pretty satisfied with the ending.
There is nothing else to say, outside of the wonderful detail and the top notch writing that is consistent throughout the series. This is a series to all, and I highly recommend you get your hands on it. Please take my golden stamp of approval, that you will get lost in this beautiful, wonderful world of magic, betrayal, love and above all, friendship.

I have read several of Lisa Sorbe’s novels this year and really have discovered that she is one that I can never go wrong one-clicking. I must say this little gem though, The Memory of Us, is my favorite! I adored this sweet and addicting second chance read. I was captivated from the very first page until the last and found myself reading it in one fell swoop. I enjoyed multiple emotions while doing so too.
The Memory of Us is the story of Elena Everhart and Weston Brooks. As children they were something special and you would have thought they were destined for forever. However, life had different plans. Unfortunate circumstances have thrown them back into each other’s lives again though. What will life and fate have in store now???

The story Surviving Jordan (Surviving Series Book 3) by Virginia Wine is a romantic suspense book. This is a series that I have loved since reading the first story. There are moments in the book when I was turning pages to find out what would happen next and others when I could feel the passion that ignites. I loved reading about the characters of Benjamin Thomas Stone and Jordan Mitchell. These two have an attraction to each other. Benjamin has had to keep himself from crossing a line with her. He has kept himself distant. He has deep emotions for her. Are his feelings for a woman who will always be off-limits, forbidden? Read this book to find out what the future has in store for both Benjamin and Jordan. This is a story that flows smoothly and had me hooked from the very beginning. The Something Series – Box Set Books 1-3 by Aubrey Bondurant is a fantastic series. This series introduced me to Aubrey Bondurant, and I am so grateful I found these books.
Tell Me Something was an exciting and fast paced romance full of action, romance, emotion and intensity. This romance with a difference packs an effective punch and has me craving more. Josh and Haylee shared a connection which provided many moments of blazing fireworks, blinding passion, heated arguing, everlasting love.
Aubrey Bondurant delivered a classic, yet original tale of two troubled souls meeting and finding their way to a happily ever after while kicking and fighting the attraction for each other, every step of the way. This author wrote a beautifully broken love story that leaves a lasting impression.
Ask Me Something is the story of Sasha and Brian, who provided unending entertainment and all those highly anticipated emotional feels. Brian feels an intense attraction to Sasha, but he is more forthcoming in what he wants, to a degree. He is an easygoing character that is likeable and charismatic. He was easy to relate to, as he was not as complex as Sasha. Sasha was much more guarded but still lovable, whereas Brian had that casual happy go lucky personality that was easy to become immersed in. It was a real thrill to uncover all that was Sasha and Brian.
Again, Aubrey Bondurant delivered a gutsy, drama driven story that captured my complete attention, and was thoroughly entertaining, dramatic and electrifying. A highly sensual tale that I finished way too quickly. This book is one to savour, not rush through. A true pleasure to read.
Bet Me Something is Mark and Juliette’s story, and it was one I craved the most. Mark was shrouded in mystery and had the more tortured past. Mark and Juliette both had scars from the past that held them back, which made reading their story much more appealing. Their journey was a rocky and rough, but what great love story didn’t have a few dents and scars from the ups and downs. Those trials just make for a more beautiful ending and made Mark and Juliette work that little bit harder to find their way to one another. Their love was hard fought and well deserved.
Show Me Something was a brilliant finale to a stunning series. I reached the end with a feeling of contentment and a full heart. While I was sad to reach the end so soon, I take away with me an incredible experience and a new one click author. Aubrey Bondurant gives readers unforgettable stories that will captivate and steal your heart, while leaving a special memory to cherish always.

Fatal Legislation is the second novel in the Katrina Cardinal mystery series by Ellen Butler. This is my second novel by this author.
While having a heated discussion with Senator Harper, Katrina is shocked and surprised when he falls at her feet dead. What makes matters worse is when she becomes a “person of interest” and find out that someone hacked into his pacemaker.
Katrina starts her own investigation to discover who would want the senator dead and why.
With this being my first political mystery, I highly enjoyed it. I love Katrina and how she handles situations.
The novel was well paced and kept me hooked. I may start to read more in this genre.
I hope there is more to this series.
I’m happy with this novel being my final read of the year and highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a quick mystery to read.

5 Star Fatal Legislation:A Novel :Karina Cardinal Mystery Book 2 by Ellen Butler is a wonderfully written book that had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen next. Karina is a Capitol Hill Lobbyist who has gotten herself into something when the Senator drops dead at her feet. What happens when she becomes a person of interest ? Will Karina find out the truth on who killed the Senator?I love the mystery and suspense aspect of this book as it had me biting my nails. Find out what happens next in this installment of The Karina Cardinal Series. I can’t wait to read more from this Author. I highly recommend reading not only this Book but the first Book as well.

Surviving Jordan is the third book in the Surviving series by Virginia Wine. I know I said this about the previous instalment, but this story has become my favourite of the series so far. There is quite a lot going on in this book, so much to like- with action, suspense, some mystery, intrigue, longing, tension, secrets, drama, incredible chemistry, and of course romance. Ms. Wine has created a complex story, full of interconnected details/characters/storylines. It is very cleverly done and adds an extra element of interest to the whole story/series. The tension and suspense were built really well throughout this story and kept me avidly reading to discover what happens. Ben And Jordan are fantastic characters, and I loved seeing Steel in the story too, as I started this series on Book four which is Steel’s story and then went back to the beginning of the series to read the rest of the books. Now I can’t wait for the next book!

Whew! This was my first introduction to this author. She has a unique voice and point of view. I was immediately intrigued by the book’s summary and my reading of it definitely did not disappoint. The plot developed quickly and the author did a beautiful job drawing the reader in and causing us to care about the main character. Very well written. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and enjoyed it from beginning to end. I look forward to reading more from Butler in the future.
Surviving Eden by Virginia Wine is book one of the Surviving Series. This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I was not disappointed. I absolutely enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read book two!
Theo has experienced an extreme tragedy. Because of that, he is effective in his role as a psychiatrist. When he meets Eden, she is the light to his darkness. He doesn’t expect to feel what he feels for Eden and he does his best to convince himself that he can’t act on the feelings he has for her.
Eden has recently experienced her own tragedy and can’t help but feel drawn to Theo. As much as he thinks he can help her, she knows she can help him too. Theo needs Eden and nothing about their circumstances will keep them apart.
This book drew me in and I couldn’t put it down!! I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait to finish the series.

The Progeny Assassin was n interesting read. The author wrote about Lara finding her true potential. The lies and betrayal felt from many characters. I didn’t enjoy the length of the story. It was a lot to read. With that being said I was intrigued by the main character and how her mind worked. It was pure instincts and a little logic. The characters were well developed. There was too much dialogue in every chapter. It was information overload. I did like the direction the author took there wasn’t some great love to make her see the right path. The Progeny Assassin: A Tarnished Lands Story (Forgotten Woods Book 2) by P.A. Wikoff continues the fantasy saga. I was concerned because I read the first book awhile back and was afraid I would be lost. Luckily this book can be read as a standalone because it is a continuation in the same land. The attention to detail is amazing yet again and places you in this nightmare world. Lara is complacent about her life but things soon change. She is fierce and strong. I really enjoyed reading her story. I look forward to reading the next book in this series and learning more about the Tarnished Lands.

Hope’s Defeat (The Fated Book 3) by Angela McPherson is another amazing paranormal fantasy book in this series. Angela has certainly written a series that is great and one that everyone should read and is one of my all time favourites. The characters are wonderful and some of my favourites of any series. With Gods, Demi gods, based on Greek mythology with a twist and combined with paranormal, it is a winner. This book takes up where the last one left off and is just as fantastic as the others if not better. In this book the fight for light and dark, good and evil continues but is the biggest fight to date with twists and turns you don’t always see coming. Angela has woven another magical, mystical, mysterious masterpiece that is original take on Pandora’s box. This tale will keep you glued to your seat as you journey along and help fight the evil invading their world.

Hope’s Defeat (The Fated #3) by Angela McPherson was the epic conclusion I was hoping for.
The third and final book in The Fate series, we are taking on a heart stopping journey that has more than one life on the line. I have to say, this is what I’ve been waiting for from this series. Just some housekeeping before we start, this is part of a continuation series, and each book picks up where the last leaves off. So I highly suggest reading the first two books, if not you will be lost and confused. And you will not be able to appreciate the progress and development our characters had displayed throughout. (Especially the MC)
I did have some issues with the other books, but held on as I knew there was something epical great hidden deep within this wonderful dark world, that Angela McPherson has created. I do still have some minor things, but again that all has to do with the MC, and frankly at this point, there’s no need to get into it, as this is the last book.
What I want to stress is how freaking stoked I am about this book. It had a compelling plot, dangerous, dark and heartbreaking. The action starts pretty much right out of the gate, as does the race against time. And Blain, man oh man, I’m starting to wonder if the author hates him or something. Poor guy can’t catch a break. But in all seriousness, that turn brought that extra desperate layer that I believe was missing from the other books. Ethics and morals come into play, and for me, finally got me to like Trinity.
If you haven’t guessed from my gushing, I highly recommend this book, and this series. It gets my high stamp of approval, and my hope you will add this wonder to your collection.
The Progeny Assassin: A Tarnished Lands Story (Forgotten Woods Book 2) by P.A. Wikoff is the second book in the series which follows on from the Harrowed Half-Breed. It can be read as a standalone but it will give you more background if you read the first one. P.A’s easy writing paints vivid pictures of the world in which this story is told and of the characters who have not lead an easy life. The eeriness and darkness of the story keeps you intrigued and the pages turning.
