Blood Mug is the fourth book in the Red Farlow Mysteries series by W.F Ranew. This follows our MC, PI Red Farlow, as he unravels another intriguing mystery. All the books in this series centre around Red Farlow as he investigates various ‘cases’, each instalment can be read as a standalone- but having said that, I think knowing Red, and what has happened previously, would definitely enhance your reading experience of this book and series as a whole. Again, this is an intriguing murder mystery, with a crime and investigation theme, a seasoned PI, drama, danger, intrigue, a little suspense, and more. Red Farlow has n appointment with the head of the local Art Centre, but when he arrives Red discovers that he has been murdered. As he investigates, more murders occur- so Red will need to get to the bottom of it all before the body count gets any higher. What is the significance of the murder weapon/s- a medieval battle dagger? All will be revealed. Again, this is a cleverly woven story full of intriguing and descriptive details. I wonder what Red will get up to in the next instalment.

Betrayal at the Beach is the first book in the Dangerous Curves series by K.L Montgomery. This is something a little different to what Ms. Montgomery has done in the past- as this is a cozy Christian mystery, so I wasn’t sure of what to expect, but knew anything she wrote was going to be good- and of course, it was. I loved the setting, Bryce Beach, a small town beach community- as well as all the quirky and interesting inhabitants of the town. It was the perfect setting and cast for a cozy mystery, so I was hooked right from the start. Sunshine Baker is one of the local librarians who has worked incredibly hard on the annual fundraising gala hoping to raise enough funds to keep the library running. As the night arrives, Sunshine hopes everything will run smoothly as there is a lot riding on the night’s success. Just when Sunshine begins to think the night couldn’t have been better, a robbery brings the festivities to a screeching halt. Not only has the thief taken the large amount of donations, but also a priceless antique that is steeped in historical significance for all the township. It is now up to Sunny, and her friends, to get to the bottom of it all, to find the thief and return the funds and heirloom, before it’s too late. This was such a fun little adventure and a fantastic start to a wonderful new series. I can’t wait for book #2.

An Unexpected Bonding is the first book in The Unexpected Trilogy by Lilly Rayman. This is an original paranormal romance with vampires, shifters, Fae, Egyptian mythology, a secret society, drama, chemistry, interesting characters, and intriguing developments. This is my first read from Lilly Rayman, so I really didn’t know what to expect- but the blurb intrigued me, so I took the chance and one-clicked myself a copy. What I discovered is a well-woven and richly descriptive story that held my attention the whole way through. This story definitely has its own flair. It’s an interesting blend of vampires, shifters, mythology, fae, and spice. I enjoyed the authors original take on the ‘lore’. There were a few minor issues with the story- but nothing that detracted too much from my overall enjoyment of the book. I am looking forward to exploring more of Ms. Rayman’s work.

Cursed Whispers is the third book in the Broderick Coven Series by A.J. Renee. I know I said this for the previous book in this series- but this is definitely my favourite, so far. The series just seems to get better and better with each new instalment. This is a wonderful paranormal romance with witches, shifters, chemistry, danger, drama, magic, and more. I was hooked right from the beginning and read the entire story in one sitting. Max Broderick gave off Dr. Dolittle vibes, as he can literally ‘talk to the animals’. But he’s in for quite a life changing surprise when he rescues a dying wolf. The wolf turns out to be a beautiful shifter by the name of Claudia- who has a complicated story to tell. When everything is revealed, Max will do everything he can to help and protect Claudia. What happens makes for a really great read! Can’t wait for more.

Luminoso is the fourth book in the Luminara series by S.J Molloy. This story follows on from book three, so it isn’t a standalone. The series/books really need to be read in sequence to fully appreciate the story. I have been on the fence with this series, having read the first three books as a boxset, I had felt that the story was really drawn out and could have been condensed into one or two books- and after reading this one, I still feel the same way- as this fourth instalment still doesn’t conclude the series, as there are two more books (at least) still to come- so I definitely think that they could have been condensed into a trilogy. The whole thing is very wordy and that frustrated me. But, I have warmed up to Lucca more in this book- but still couldn’t connect with Lexi in the way I would have liked, which was disappointing. As mentioned in my review for the first three books- some of the dialogue/situations felt forced, somewhat awkward, or stilted- which was still an issue in this book, for me- although it does seem to have improved a bit from the first three books- and I did ‘enjoy’ this book more than the first three. Crossing my fingers as I head into book #5.

Southland Academy For Supernatural Youth by Sandra Tentler and Brooke Tentler is such a fun read. This is a paranormal mystery aimed at early teen readers, but really can be enjoyed at any age. At the Southland Academy for Supernatural Youth, strange things seem to be happening. Things are going missing, and trouble is brewing- but our band of endearing misfits is on the case- and so starts this wonderful little story. I really enjoyed exploring this book and joining the quirky band of misfits on their adventure. Looking forward to more from this duo.

Apocalypse NOPE!! By Deidre Huesmann is a wonderful YA story that kept me entertained the whole way through. It’s a modern retelling of the four horsemen of the apocalypse story, but with a Deidre Huesmann twist. This is paranormal LGBT romantic comedy done well- with emotion, drama, teenage issues, angst, and more. I have read many of Deidre Huesmann’s books now and can always count on her to deliver a wonderfully original, entertaining, and yet thought provoking read. And this story was no different. I love the quirky, off-bet characters- and the modern spin that Ms. Huesmann gave to the old classic. I can’t wait to see what she does next.

Myths & Legends: An Indie Love Anthology is a collection of seven original stories all based on well-known myths and legends. From Egyptian Gods to Robin Hood, Arthurian Legends, Hades and Persephone, Greek mythology, and more….there is a lot to choose from. The stories range from fantasy to paranormal romance- with F/F romance, forbidden love, second chances, self-discovery, finding love unexpectedly, crime and investigation, covert military units, dragon shifters, magic, and much more. I would like to have read longer versions of these stories, because a few of them felt really rushed and underdeveloped. I love the premise of most of them- but a few were let down by a rushed story and lack of development.

–Mistress of Sky and Stars (Forgotten Gods: Origins) By: Laura Greenwood This is a forbidden love story based on an Egyptian creation myth.
–Queens of the Underworld By: Arizona Tape This is an original take on Hades and Persephone’s story, but with a twist- it’s a F/F romance.
–Frost and Flame By: R.J Truman This is a paranormal fantasy- with Phoenix’s, magic, fire & Ice, second chances, discovery, drama, and more. While I loved the concept of this story and thought it could have been quite a stellar read if only it had been longer- to allow for more depth and development. It felt really rushed.
–In Search of Ghosts By: Paula Acton This is based on the Arthurian legend of the Lady in the Lake. A fantasy fully of paranormal elements, magic, drama, and fate. Again, this story was fun- but I felt it needed to be a little longer to allow the story to really shine.
–Cursed to Love By: Erin O’Kane This is my favourite of the collection. Based on Greek mythology with Gorgons, curses, betrayal, magic, drama, and more. This was such a great little read- I would love to read a loner version of this story as I wanted to linger longer with the character/s, cos I’m greedy like that lol. The story leaves room for more at the end, so I am hoping to get more in the near future (hint, hint Ms O’Kane 😊)
–I Do It For You By: Louisa Line This is the modern retelling of the classic, “Robin Hood”- and is about finding love unexpectedly, with a little crime and investigation thrown in to keep things interesting.
–Dragon’s Heart By: Carrie Austin Malone Who doesn’t love dragon shifter stories? I know I do. A story full of action, magic, danger, fated mates, romance, covert military units, hunters, hidden agendas, and a secret society….. need I say more 😊

Our Wicked Lies by Gledè Browne Kabongoa suspenseful story that had me flipping the pages to discover how it all played out. I would class it as a bit of a psychological thriller- there’s also plenty of emotion, secrets, mystery, deception, intrigue, lies, betrayal, discovery, and tension. Although the story was a little slow in the beginning, it didn’t take too long before it had me devouring the pages and following along intently as everything unfolded.
My Lips Are Sealed is the first book in the Sealed With A Kiss series by Carmen Richter. This is my first read by Ms. Richter, so I really didn’t know what to expect going into this book, but as it was recommended to me I took a chance and snapped up a copy to read. I’m going to be honest here- I struggled with this story, I really did. I think I had a preconceived idea of what I was getting into and may have had my expectations set too high. That’s not to say that the story was bad, it was ok- but I really struggled with the ages of the characters. I think I would have enjoyed this more, and related more to the character/s, if Zoe had been of college age, say 18/19/20- instead of her 16 years. But, that’s just me- there are probably heaps of people that wouldn’t be bothered by her age, but I was for some reason. Zoe has endured so much heartbreak for someone so young, she has struggled to find her way back from her grief. Pouring her heart out into her music, she decides to perform at an open mic night and sing about her loss. It’s there she meets Elijah, who sparks something in her for the first time since her loss. She feels a small spark of her former life start to kindle within her, and for the first time in months she feels a little hope. Something promising blossoms between them- so imagine her surprise at school the next day when Elijah turns out to be her new drama teacher. They should just walk away- but instead decide to keep what they have a secret. What happens when secrets are revealed? Will this only lead to more heartbreak for Zoe? Well, you will just have to read the story for yourself to discover how everything unfolds. The story is full of teen angst, friendship, love, loss, heartache, chemistry, secrets, and more.

Walker Pride is the first book in The Walker Family series by Bernadette Marie. It is a western romance- it’s a sweet and touching second chances story, with insta-love, new beginnings, family, emotion, and enough dramatic developments to keep things interesting. I enjoyed this story and liked the characters- they were well-developed with their own personalities, quirks and flaws. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Date Night by K.M Lowe is a slow burn romance about finding love unexpectedly. It is a quick and easy read that I finished in just over an hour. I have read a few of K.M Lowe’s other books before, so I had a fairly good idea of what to expect- but for some reason I can’t quite pinpoint, I found these characters and their story quite hard to connect with. I really wanted to love this story- but the characters felt a little ‘flat’ to me, and some of the scenes felt rushed or forced. I will revisit this book in a few weeks for a reread, just in case I was having an ‘off’ reading day this time around.

Bovine Tricks by Seelie Kay turned out to be quite an original and engrossing romantic suspense. It has lots of intrigue, drama, romance, and an unusual investigation that leads our character/s on quite an eye opening adventure. The book had my curiosity piqued right from the beginning, what with the title and the blurb- colour me intrigued. MISix agent Tillie Spenser is Tasked with finding a missing member of the British aristocracy- but this missing person case gets a whole lot more complicated than she could ever have imagined- leading to an investigation she won’t soon forget, that’s for sure. An original and fun read…

Murder at Honeybee Lake is the second book in the Shadow of a Doubt series by Jessica Aiken-Hall. It’s a fantastic paranormal crime and investigation story that had me devouring the pages to discover how everything plays out. The story is full of intrigue, gripping moments, mystery, tension, secrets, lies, agendas, deception, and surprises- as well as plenty of emotion. As expected from Jessica Aiken-Hall, this is very well developed – a cleverly plotted story that has been woven with palpable tension, making for a riveting read. Get set for a gripping ride. Can’t wait for the next book!

The Husband is the highly anticipated fourth book in the 21st Century Courtesan Series by Pamela DuMond. This series is completely addicting- I can’t get enough- I love everything about it- the intriguing story, the superb writing, and interesting characters all come together in an unforgettable read. I’ve loved Evie from the moment I met her back in Book One- so it was never even a question of if I would be reading this book, I couldn’t wait to continue her story and jumped right in as soon as the book hit my Kindle. Evelyn Berlinger (Evie) is an empath who became a high priced courtesan- an escort providing a unique experience for her wealthy clientele. She has been through quite a lot since we met her back in book one- and I know I keep saying this- but this book takes things to a whole new level, as Evie deals with love, loss, heartache, danger, and more. This story continues from the previous books- and as it has recurring characters and details- I really do recommend reading the other instalments before starting on this one- as they contain los of backstory, character introductions, and other important information which will enhance your reading experience of this book. I’ve mentioned this before, but it’s worth repeating again- this series is wonderfully original, with plenty of complexity, layers, intriguing developments, and clever interconnected details. Ms. DuMond weaves a rich and textured story with wonderful attention to detail and with a vividly descriptive quality to her scene setting, character creation, and story development. This book is dark, sexy, and very emotive- with plenty of danger, suspense, mystery, intrigue, and dramatic developments. I really couldn’t put it down and devoured it in one sitting. OMG- I CAN. NOT. WAIT. for Book #5 “The Fan”- it is set to be the best yet!!!!!!

Relentless is the fourth book in the Billionaire Bodyguards series by Via Mari. It is another engrossing romantic suspense from Via Mari. The story is full of danger, drama, action, mystery, suspense, a sex trafficking ring, secrets, intrigue, chemistry, and a whole lot of sizzle. As with the rest of the series, this book could be read as a standalone, as each book in the series focuses on a different couple. But, having said that, I really recommend reading the previous three books before starting on this one, because not only are they great stories in their own right/s- but there are also recurring characters who you will want to know more about and a bridging storyline with interconnected details, and crossovers of timelines, settings, and events- so knowing what happens in each book will definitely enhance your appreciation of this story, and the series as a whole. I have followed Via Mari from her first book in the Prestian series all the way through all her book, so I know I can always count on her to deliver a superb romantic suspense with palpable tension, sizzling chemistry, dramatic developments, and surprising twists. But it’s not all action and suspense- there is banter, comradery, friendships, lighter moments, and plenty of depth and emotion, which really makes her work so captivating. So, buckle up and get set to follow Dereck and Layla, as all the excitement and drama unfolds!

Everything, Somewhere by David Kummer is a thought-provoking story with some dark themes, in a small-town setting. This story is a bit of a coming of age story- where our characters are transitioning into adulthood and dealing with the dramas that come their way. This is full of teenage issues that many of our teenagers are experiencing. Sensitive subject matter, such as mental health and suicide, are handled in a very direct, honest, and considerate way. There are emotive moments, as well as some depressing scenes that tugged at my heart strings and made me ‘feel’. But I think that the characters needed a little more development in order for me to fully connect with them and what they were going through. The story is told from several points of view, which I found distracted from the growth and development of the characters, as well as the overall storyline- giving it a bit of a choppy feel. As this is my first read from David Kummer, I am interested in reading more of his work to see what else he can do.

The Earl and the Peahen is the fifth book in The Scarlet Salon series by Jean Wilde. As with the other books in the series, it can be read as a standalone. But, having said that, if you love historical romance/regency romance- then you probably won’t want to miss out on what the first four books have to offer. This is a really great historical/regency romance- about finding love unexpectedly, where opposites attract- and with plenty of banter, drama, intrigue, chemistry, tension, and more. I really enjoyed following Jane and Alexander on their ‘adventure’- watching while fate threw these two ‘opposites’ together and especially enjoyed how everything played out. As expected, the characters were really well developed- crafted into fully realised individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. I found them to be quite endearing and couldn’t help but cheer them on from the sidelines. This is another really well developed story from Ms. Wilde. She crafts a rich setting for her story- full of clever and creative touches – along with authentic historical details that really help to bring her characters and story to life. Her storytelling really draws you into her ‘world’ and she easily captured and held my attention the whole way through. I wonder what she has instore for us next?

Love By Design is the second book in The Meraki series by Effie Kammenou. I am really enjoying this series, two books in and I am already looking forward to seeing what comes next. The story could be read as a standalone if you wanted, but having said that, there are recurring characters as well as a bridging subplot that makes this book and series quite intriguing- so I highly recommend reading the first book before starting on this one. I’m sure you won’t regret it. As with the first book, it is primarily a contemporary romance- with an office romance/opposite attract/falling for the boss theme. As expected, the story is well-woven, with plenty of banter, family dynamics, steam, mystery, adventure, challenges, drama, and angst- all set against picturesque backdrops. This is Mia Andarakis and Nicholas Aristedis’s story- Mia is Kally’s sister from Book One- and Nicholas is Mia’s hunky new boss- someone she’s had a crush on- perfect start- right? Mmmmmmmm…. Well, you really need to read all the engrossing details for yourself- the story is well worth the read to find out how it all plays out. Another fun addition to the story!

Tapestry of Worlds, Part Two: Running and Gunning by Hadley Thorne is an intriguing mix of sci-fi, fantasy, supernatural, and magical realism- with post-apocalyptic themes, paranormal elements, magic, action, and adventure. Even though there are some editing issues within the story- I still think the premise is quite original and interesting- and I think it would make a great movie, television series, or game. Even though this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a standalone, which is what I did. But this story has made me curious to discover what happened in Book One, so I will probably go back to read it as well as the next instalment, Of the Blood: Tapestry of the Worlds, Part Three.

Try Right is the third book in the Aloha series by Jill Brashear. This is my first book by Ms. Brashear, so I really didn’t know what to expect going in- but am happy to report that she is a wonderful storyteller and weaves a great story. Again, as I seem to be doing a lot lately, I have jumped into a series on book three- and while this book was very enjoyable without knowing what happened in the previous two books- I am definitely interested in going back to ‘meet’ the other characters and find out what happens there. The book is set against the tropical and picturesque backdrop of Hawaii. There is a retro historical element to the story too, as it is set in 1968. This fact definitely added an extra element of interest to the story. We follow Claudia, a movie star trying to reinvigorate her career, and Henry the stuntman working on her latest set. Claudia is trying to recapture her past, and Henry has agreed to help. But along the way the lines of friendship begin to blur- and maybe recapturing her past isn’t so important anymore. A sweet friends-to-lovers romance, with a little drama, plenty of chemistry, and a dash or two of angst…. just to keep things interesting. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

I Will Bury Youby Brandy Nacole is a YA thriller- a bit of a mystery with murder, family secrets, lies, discovery, crime and investigation, and drama. The story has an interesting premise, and I couldn’t wait to dive in- but unfortunately the many editing issues really detracted from my enjoyment of the story (in my Verified Purchase Kindle copy- from Amazon Australia). With a little tweaking and attention, this story really could be stellar- but as it is, it fell short for me. But, as the story is geared towards a younger audience, maybe they won’t see the issues, or have the same problems I have had reading this book. I really did want to love this book and I am sorry that I didn’t. Maybe next time.

On Viking Seas is the third book in The Forerunner Series by Jay Veloso Batista. This is an epic fantasy- with plenty of adventure, action, history, (Norse) mythology, Vikings, hidden agendas, paranormal beings and elements, danger, drama, challenges, revenge, curses, and more. There was so much going on in this story, and so many characters (most with difficult to pronounce names to try to remember) that at times this story got quite confusing. I didn’t realise going into this story that it is book three in the series, so I think I would have fared better if I had read the other two books first before starting on this one. I have gone back and purchased books one and two- and plan on reading them soon. So, hopefully knowing what transpired in those first two books will shed this book in a better light. I can tell that the author is very passionate about the subject matter and his stories, and it apparent that he put a lot of blood, sweat, heart, soul, and research into his work- which resulted in the rich and vibrant picture he painted that allowed his story to come to life. But with so much going on, and so many different POV’s to get my head around, and the many difficult names to remember really made for a confusing and ‘choppy’ read for me. I did settle into it more as the story unfolded, so maybe I will feel better about this story once I have read the other two books. So stay tuned. But if you like epic fantasy, with plenty of different situations, motivations, and threads- then this is definitely the book for you.

WOW– this series just gets better and more addictive with each new release. Key West Dead is the gripping new instalment in the Jake Wolfe series by Mark Nolan. I know I keep saying this, but I really can’t get enough of this series- and I don’t think I’ll ever tire of joining Jake and Cody on one of their exciting ‘adventures’- no pressure, Mr. Nolan, but I hope you’ve got many more exciting adventures for Jake, Cody, and their many ‘friends’ to negotiate, because I have a slight addiction and need a regular ‘fix’ to keep me going- so a regular ‘supply’ for the foreseeable future would be excellent, thanks! 😊 This story could be read as a standalone- but as there are recurring characters, as well as other important details that help to build a bigger picture, I would recommend reading the other books first, before embarking on this adventure as knowing what has happened previously, and how much Jake and Cody have been through together- will greatly enhance your reading experience of this story. This time Jake and Cody are pitted against a psychotic bomber who is hell bent on a demented agenda… and taking out Jake and Cody in a fiery inferno just became his top priority- the perfect ‘icing’ on his deadly plot. Will Jake and Cody manage to outwit their deadly adversary long enough to take him down, as well as keeping their friends safe in the process? This is definitely worth the read to find out!! I could go on and on about every little detail of this fantastic book- but instead I will sign off here so you can grab yourself a copy and dive in asap- highly recommended! I can’t wait to see what Jake and Cody get up to next!

The Luminara Series: Box Set – Volume 1 (Lussuria – L’amore – Lucca’s Lust) by SJ Molloy. This boxset contains the first three books in The Luminara Series: Lussuria (Book #1), L’amore (Book #2), and Lucca’s Lust (Book #3). I was drawn to the series by the beautiful covers and the promise of a “an emotional erotic heart wrenching story of lust, love and light.” Seeing that there were more books in the series, either published, or soon to be released, I snapped up a copy and dove in. I love a great series you can sink your teeth into and get lost in- and that’s what I was hoping for here. But I am so sorry to say that I felt a little disappointed in the end. While the story was okay- it didn’t pack the ‘punch’ I was hoping for – and for me it just didn’t live up to the promise or expectation. I really wanted to love this book/series so hard- but just couldn’t connect with the characters and their story in the way I had hoped. I also felt that the story was really drawn out and could have been condensed into one or two books. For the size of the books/boxset and all the words- there isn’t a great deal of development or the substance I would have expected- so I was left feeling disappointed. If the story had been condensed a little and had some ‘meatier’ development- then this could have been a really stellar read. There is a lot of potential here- but just failed to hit the mark for me. Added to that, some of the dialogue/situations really felt forced, awkward, and stilted- they didn’t flow well or seem ‘natural’- which made for a bit of an unsettling read. I also note that there has been nearly six years between the previous books’ release and the pending new release. That’s a LONG wait between books- so I am very glad that I didn’t start this series sooner. The story/series did get a bit better the further in to it I got- so I am holding out hope for the next books- and yes, I will be finishing the series- I always finish what I start. So fingers crossed. I really did want to love this series so much more than I have (so far) and I am sorry but I just didn’t connect- but maybe it’s just me. Maybe next time I will?
Revelations is the first book in the Separate Worlds series by Izzibella Beau. It is a paranormal romance, a coming of age story with shifters, teenage angst, high school drama, and interesting characters. Emily has no idea that moving to a new town will turn her world upside down. She will soon discover that there is far more to the town, and the residents, than she could ever have imagined. So, find a comfy spot and settle in for some shapeshifting fun. There were a few instances where the dialogue felt awkward or stilted, but overall, it was a fun read.

In Plain Sight is the third book in The Broken Bow series by Ashley A. Quinn. I absolutely LOVE this series- the characters, the gripping storylines, and Ms. Quinn’s superb writing skills- all have me clamouring for more. The stories can be read as standalones, but there is a cast of recurring characters and overlapping details, so to fully appreciate the story/series, I highly recommend reading the first two books before diving into this one. Again, as with the other two books, this is a gripping romantic suspense- with plenty of danger, drama, intrigue, angst, and emotion. But this is also a story of second chances, chemistry, connection, family, friendships, camaraderie, trust, finding where you belong, – and so much more. Weave in the shocking and heartbreaking sex trafficking/child exploitation issues, the vile monsters behind the trade, and lots of gripping twists and turns- and this story was un-put-down-able right from the get-go. Having met Rayna and Thomas in the previous books, I couldn’t wait to get their story- and they certainly don’t disappoint. OMG- my heart broke for what Mason (and the others) had been through- I was expecting to be gripped by this story, but Ms. Quinn had my emotions simmering and then broiling within the first few chapters. This was everything I had hoped it would be, and more. I’m excited to see what comes next. Highly recommended! Happy Reading!

Spiteful Punks: Dolls and douchebags part one by Madeline Fay is a dark reverse harem bully romance with plenty of triggers in this taboo tale. The story depicts bullying, abuse, and torment- so if these topics cause you distress, then this is not the book for you. I love a dark and twisted story, but unfortunately this did fall a little short for me. There is a lot of potential here for greatness, but it just missed the mark. There is however, an angsty and emotive story here- I just wish I loved it more than I do. It has piqued my interest, so I will keep an eye out for the next book to see what the author has in store there.

In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety is the second book in The Cecily Taylor series by Krysten Lindsay Hager. This is a little more angsty than the first book, with anxiety, misunderstandings, and jealousy, the order of the day. It is a YA romance story- with teenage drama, friendship, angst, jealousy, and first love. Again, as with the first book, this is definitely suited to a younger audience, that’s not to say that I don’t enjoy YA stories, because I do- but I found this one a little too teenage drama-ish for me to fully connect with or appreciate as much as I would have liked to. Still, I am glad I read it and will check out Book #3 to see what happens next.

To Be A Fae Queen is the first book in the Realm Chronicles by Tricia Copeland. Having read quite a few of Ms. Copelands books, I can always count on her to provide an engrossing read, and this story was no exception. It is a little different from the other books of Tricia Copeland’s that I have read, in that this is an epic fantasy adventure, with faeries, magic, action, mystery, drama, challenges, deceit, lies, danger, good vs evil, self-discovery, coming of age, and fantastic world building. I was swept up into this adventure and loved every moment. Titania is a great character, well-crafted, and with the presence, strength, and complexities I would have expected from a much older character. It was easy to forget, at times, that she is only a teenager. The secondary characters were given just as much attention and development and definitely added to the story. Being handed the crown of the realm at only 15 years old was just the beginning of Titania’s epic adventure. She is going to have to embrace all her training if she is to overcome the many obstacles stacked against her, as well as figuring out who she can trust along the way- what ensues makes for a captivating story. Bring on Book #2!
