Blood Relations (The Sorrel Janes Mysteries) by Lonna Enox – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Blood RelationsBlood Relations by Lonna Enox
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Blood Relations by Lonna Enox is the second book of the series following The Last Dance. This book is a suspenseful mystery.

Sorrel is so strong and independent. She very much embodies a strong lead character. She has planned to meet her friend John and a predetermined meeting location. However, when he doesn’t show up she worries. It feels like something is wrong. Chris helps Sorrel investigate John’s disappearance. She knows he has feelings for her and she thinks she feels the same but is overly cautious with her feelings. While Chris and Sorrel search for John, strange things keep happening but they can’t turn away. Will they find out what happened to John? Will they get to explore their feelings for each other?

This book really pulls the reader in and you get so sucked in you can’t wait to find out what happens. I absolutely recommend this book.

Shattered MelodyShattered Melody by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Shattered Melody by Amy McKinley is a romantic suspense novella. This book is a quick read but it is so good!

Emma lives her life in a remote mountain cabin and prefers it that way after experiencing a tragic event a few years prior. She can’t be too safe so she takes extra precautions to make sure her location isn’t easily identified. She likes to keep people at a distance if she can help it. During a snowstorm, there’s a knock on her door and even though it would go against her better judgement she welcomed her neighbor in and actually decided getting to know him wouldn’t be terrible. She feels she made the right decision trusting Reese until a few weird things start happening. Emma second guesses Reese and isn’t sure what to do. Will Reese be the step Emma needed to reclaim her life or did she make a mistake trusting him?

This book was really enjoyable to read. Definitely some twists that I didn’t expect so once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down!

The Last Dance (The Sorrel Janes Mysteries) by Lonna Enox – Review by Angelina Frazzini

The Last DanceThe Last Dance by Lonna Enox
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Last Dance by Lonna Enox is a very well written, enjoyable book that keeps you on your toes. I was pulled into the story and couldn’t put it down.

Sorrel moves to New Mexico to escape and start a new life. It seems like a good place to start over, especially since she inherited the land from her aunt. Sorrel has decided that to start over, she will do everything different. She wants to open a gift shop and take wildlife photography. What she doesn’t expect is to be the center of a few murders. Will Sorrel be safe in her new home?

This book was very suspenseful and definitely keeps you on your toes. Sorrel is definitely a character that is relatable. She is strong willed and not afraid to say what she thinks. For someone that has faced what she has, she stays strong and powers through. I absolutely recommend this book!

Devil’s Due: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter #3) by Manda Mellett – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Devil's Due: Satan's Devils MC Colorado Chapter #3Devil’s Due: Satan’s Devils MC Colorado Chapter #3 by Manda Mellett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Devil’s Due by Manda Mellett is book three of the Satan’s Devil Colorado Chapter series. This book is such a good addition to the series. There is quite a bit of suspense in this book that you can only truly experience by experiencing it for yourself. I was sucked into this book, these characters and their stories.

These two characters meet in Colorado among less than desirable circumstances and from there, their story unfolds in twists, turns and surprises. I honestly had to keep reading because I needed to know what was going to happen but I definitely wasn’t disappointed. My emotions were all over the place reading this book. I highly recommend this series and definitely this book.

A Protector’s Touch by Parker Sinclair – Review by Angelina Frazzini

A Protector's TouchA Protector’s Touch by Parker Sinclair
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Protector’s Touch by Parker Sinclair is a new adult college romance. This book may not be for everyone as it does hint to past violence in a relationship. However, it is not graphic.

April didn’t think she’d ever be the girl that faced the issues she’s faced in her most recent relationship, like so many others. She had a pretty sheltered life growing up so she had no idea what she was getting into when she got to college. April knew however, if she didn’t get out, she wouldn’t get out. Now April is working on herself and her confidence. Will she be able to move on or will her past threaten to consume her?

This book was well written and touched on a sensitive subject in a way that doesn’t deter people from reading it. It’s inspiring to see April pull herself up and and work through her issues.

The Arrangement Duet Box Set By Madison Quinn – Review by Angelina Frazzini

The Arrangement Duet Box SetThe Arrangement Duet Box Set by Madison Quinn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Arrangement Duet Box Set by Madison Quinn contains the books On His Terms and On Her Terms.

Kenzie fled a past no one should experience. Doing so has landed her in New York City in a not so good part of town working two jobs to keep herself afloat. Nicholas owns a multimillion dollar company so you would think his dating life wouldn’t make a difference yet the public seems to think he can’t manage his company if he doesn’t have a serious relationship. Kenzie is approached my a customer with an opportunity that would allow her to not work so many hours but make more money. This opportunity is how she formally meets Nicholas. They agree on an arrangement that will pay Kenzie well while keeping Nicholas’ dating life away from the public. What happens when the attraction becomes to much to handle? Will Nicholas and Kenzie be able to keep their arrangement while keeping his business afloat and her demons at bay?

This duet box set was amazing to read! I couldn’t get enough of the story and I was so glad both books were together so I could read them immediately. This story sucked me and I couldn’t put it down! Kenzie is such a great character and she seems like someone you could absolutely be friends with. Nicholas seems contradictory at times in regards to how he feels about relationships and his tenderness toward Kenzie. I loved these characters as much as I loved the story!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fierce Emotions by Linda Burson is book eight of the Marcy Series. This series should be read in order otherwise you will lose aspects of the story.

This book in this series has Marcy and her family moving into their new home as a new addition joins them. I wasn’t sure how to feel for a good chunk of the book. Poor Marcy everything should be good and now she’s overheard an unsettling conversation and is having a hard time getting back to the happiness. Will the family’s life be thrown off track once more?

I have really enjoyed reading about Marcy and the other characters in this series and this book is no exception!

Say Something by Jennifer L. Allen – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Say SomethingSay Something by Jennifer L. Allen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Say Something by Jennifer L. Allen is a second chance contemporary romance. This book elicits so many emotions I’m not even sure I could capture them all. My emotions were all over the place in the best of ways.

Jessica and Danny were high school sweethearts. As life does, it changed and threw some difficult times their way and unfortunately, they couldn’t make it through together. Now, it’s been four years and they both ended up back in their hometown. Jessica never stopped loving Danny and running into him all over town isn’t easy but slowly but surely she begins to think he may feel the same. Do they have what it takes to work through their past issues? Can Danny forgive Jessica?

I loved reading about these characters and getting to know them. Jessica was handed some bad cards but eventually she rebuilt herself. She is strong, smart and funny! Danny is a sweetheart and at first I didn’t think I would like him but as I kept reading I got more of the background and it made sense. This book and these characters are great!! Read this book!

Impact (Twisted Hearts Love Story #4) by Autumn Sand – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Impact (A Twisted Hearts Love Story book 4)Impact by Autumn Sand
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Impact by Autumn Sand is a Twisted Hearts Love story stand-alone. It’s the fourth book in the series. Due to content, this book is recommended for readers 18+.

This book starts off showing us an event that changed Manny’s life. From there the story switches from past to present giving you more insight into Manny’s life. Experiencing the ups and downs of Manny’s life really took you on a rollercoaster of emotions. To see Manny in love is also a rollercoaster. He will do anything to keep her safe but the relationship at times has been rocky. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and definitely had some twists I wasn’t expecting.

I really enjoyed reading Manny’s story and getting a glimpse into his life. It was very emotional but Manny definitely made some choices that were good for his life and it was good seeing him trying to come out the other side. I didn’t read these books in order but now I definitely want to go back and read the others!

Demon's Angel: Satan's Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) #2Demon’s Angel: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) #2 by Manda Mellett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Demon’s Angel by Manda Mellett is book two of the Satan’s Devils Colorado Chapter series. I couldn’t put this book down! It has everything. There is drama, action, suspense and love.

Demon made a promise when he was younger and he always intended to keep it. Look after Violet. That promise was so much easier to keep when she wasn’t in town, making her crush on him known. Now she’s back and she’s not alone. He can’t let her presence get to him. He will help her but only as a surrogate older brother. Are Violet’s feelings one sided? Can she deal with this while also keeping her son safe?

This book definitely gives you more of an insight into who Demon is as a character. I really enjoyed this book and seeing how he acts in relation to Violet. This book is so good I truly couldn’t put it down. I had to know what was going on and what was going to happen next. I suggest reading book one first because it gives you more of a background into the story but both books are worth reading!

Things We Lost (Loving Locksley Book 1)Things We Lost by Shae Banks
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Things We Lost by Shae Banks is book one of the Loving Locksley series. This is a story about second chances. I was pulled in right from the beginning and couldn’t put it down!

Nathalie finally gets a new job that she likely won’t hate. To celebrate, her best friend decides they need a night out. Nathalie runs in to the last person she expects to see, her ex, Jason. Jason left Nathalie thirteen years ago but thirteen years is a long time. Is Jason any different? Nathalie spends a lot of time avoiding Jason but eventually she gives in and explores the idea that things are different this time. Will this second chance lead them to a life of happiness they would have missed out on?

Jason and Nathalie have a lot of chemistry. You can almost sense it just from reading their story. There are so many emotions in this book. Abandoned by Love: Book 1 in the Shattered Hearts Duet by Aleya Michelle – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Abandoned by Love (Shattered Hearts Duet, #1)Abandoned by Love by Aleya Michelle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Abandoned by Love by Aleya Michelle is book one of the Shattered Hearts Duet. This book is so powerful and I couldn’t put it down!

Jaxon and Emily have a love like no other until an accident changes everything. Emily doesn’t expect anything from Jaxon but makes a decision for the both of them that changes their lives. Jaxon has no idea how his life ended up this way but he doesn’t want to deal with the pain.

This book was so emotional. I couldn’t put it down even though my feelings were all over the place. I was frustrated in the beginning with Jaxon’s character. I felt he was being a little selfish but had to remind myself that he didn’t have all the information I had. He redeemed himself as did Emily. These characters were great and very relatable. I don’t know what I would have done if I were in their shoes. It was definitely thought provoking without ruining the story. I can’t wait to read book two.

Broken Pieces by Judith B. Pinkard is a biographical novel based on real life events. I was so drawn into this book, I couldn’t put it down. While it was heartbreaking (even more so because it’s based on real life events), it had some heartwarming moments that gave you hope.

This book really gives you hope and makes you realize you can overcome just about any obstacle with a little faith, love and determination to push through. I felt like I couldn’t keep my feelings in check because they were all over the place reading this book. I was glad I chose to read this book. Rafferty (Default Distraction #2)Rafferty by A.S. Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rafferty by A.S. Roberts is book two of the Default Distraction series. I highly recommend reading book one before reading this book because beside being a great read itself, it will give you an introduction to many of the characters you see in book two. Also, there are some scenes in book two that you will have seen in book one just from a new point of view.

Lauren has had her heart broken but she’s moved passed it and has become a successful business owner. Rafferty is past or Default Distraction and they are back in town. Lauren resolves to stay away from anywhere they may be. She worked hard to rebuild her life and she doesn’t want to risk getting hurt again. Rafferty knows the mistake he made but will Lauren give him another chance?

This book is an emotional roller coaster but you truly feel like you feel what the characters are feeling. I could feel Lauren’s pain but I wanted happiness for both Lauren and Rafferty. I absolutely recommend this book!!

Damien, Olivia and Jaxon are drawn together and Olivia finds herself between a rock and a hard place. She has feelings for both men but when one leaves her, she says yes to the other. She had no idea the twists and turns that would play out down the road.

This book was so emotional I didn’t know what to feel from one moment to the next. I was absolutely immersed in this book.

Me and Cinderella by Kelly Mooney is book two of The Dirty Rooster Series. This book can be read as a standalone. This book pulled me in right from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down.

Eli swore he would never return to Sugar Creek. He stood by that until his brother needed him. One thing he knew for sure was he couldn’t have anything to do with Remington. He’s always had deep feeling for Remington even though she is his little sister’s best friend.

I absolutely loved this book. There is so much emotion between the characters. The story is so well written that it’s relatable as are the characters. The banter between the characters added a lighthearted element that was a wonderful way to break up the emotion a little. This book truly has it all.

Turning the Tide (Eastern Shore Swingers Book 5)Turning the Tide by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Turning the Tide by Phoebe Alexander is book five of the Eastern Shore Swingers Series. These books can be read in any order but characters from previous books do make appearances.

Luke feels stuck in a hopeless situation. He really doesn’t see any hope that it will change. He gets invited to the club and that’s where things might start to change. Connie doesn’t participate in the lifestyle but likes to spend time at the club with her friends. She feels an instant connection to Luke but then she finds out about his baggage. Is their connection worth the trouble it’s causing?

This book was so good and probably my most favorite out of the series. Luke is such a great guy trapped in an impossible situation. The characters in this series are all unique but very relatable. I like that the characters make appearances outside of their own book. They are family. This book was an excellent read!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Taming the Troublemaker by Kadie Scott is book three of The Hills of Texas series. This book is a standalone and can be read without reading books one and two. I’ve read this series completely out of order and don’t feel like I’ve missed anything at all.

Autry Hill has been dubbed the biggest playboy in town and now his reputation may cost him his family’s ranch. He doesn’t expect Beth Cooper to find her way back into his life and cost him more than the ranch. Beth Cooper May have had a crush on Autry a long time ago but she has to stay practical and she can’t fall for him. She doesn’t realize that he is just who she needs to help her help one of her students. Can they work together for Dylan’s sake? What will be the ultimate cost?

I really enjoyed this book. Autry May have had a reputation but when the right person came along he was willing to risk it all. I was so drawn to these characters and there fun light hearted moments but also the serious ones as well. This was such a great book to read and I highly recommend it.

Dirty Rooster by Kelly Mooney – Review by Angelina Frazzini

The Dirty RoosterThe Dirty Rooster by Kelly Mooney
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Dirty Rooster by Kelly Mooney is a book filled with angst, chemistry and a little of everything in between. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but it won’t be the last!

Preston works at his family’s bar in Hilton Head during the summer and he enjoys it. That’s not the only thing he enjoys but it is certainly not commitment. His disinterest in commitment gives him a certain reputation but he doesn’t really mind. He has his dreams and that’s what he’s working toward. Summer and Jenny have just graduated and are going to spend their summer in Hilton Head working. Summer’s plan is to make as much money as possible and work toward her dream. She doesn’t have time for people that don’t want the same thing as her. She doesn’t want one night stands but she does want to have fun. Preston is not the kind of fun Summer wants to have. Will Preston conquer the challenge or will there be more for Preston and Summer?

I really enjoyed this book and the emotions it evoked while reading. Preston is a little swoony once you get passed his commitment issues. There was a lot of wit and humor that was really enjoyable and made this a fun read. I can’t wait for more from Kelly Mooney!

Hazed (The Hazed Series Book 1) by Brittany Butler – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Hazed (The Hazed Series Book 1)Hazed by Brittany Butler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hazed by Brittany Butler is book one of the Hazed Series. This book is recommended for readers over 17 due to some of the subject matter. The book does end with some loose ends so be prepared to want to read book two right away. This book is THAT good. I read this book in one sitting and can’t wait to read book two.

Taylor Thompson finally has some freedom. She was accepted to and moved to a college an hour away from her strict controlling father. Now, her decisions are hers to make. Spending time with Hayze Clark seems like an easy decision for Taylor. But little by little lies are told and secrets come out of the woodwork and Taylor’s not sure she has the energy to fix Hayze and the issues he seems to have. Not at the expense of her heart at least. Will these two have a future?

I was so conflicted on how to feel throughout this book. On one hand, Hayze is clearly a lost soul. On the other hand, the relationship doesn’t seem healthy for them. They are both great characters, very realistic and relatable. I just so badly want them to find happiness. This is such a great book!

What She Lost and Found by M.L. Garcia – Review by Angelina Frazzini

What She Lost And FoundWhat She Lost And Found by M.L. Garcia
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What She Lost and Found by M.L. Garcia is a very emotional story. Daniela has had her life torn apart and now she has to try to fight through it.

Daniela has experienced trauma that no one should ever have to deal with. She thinks that starting over in a new city and getting a fresh start may help. However, she realizes her past is holding her back. She doesn’t get close to people, she doesn’t trust anyone, especially men, and she doesn’t feel safe.

Due to some scenes being depicted fairly detailed, this book may not be suitable for some readers but the author does a good job balancing the “dark” parts of the book with more cheerful, light parts as well. I truly couldn’t put this book down. My heart ached for Daniela but I was glad to see her working through her issues and gaining meaningful relationships in her life. I absolutely recommend this book.
