Too Hot to Handle (The Catch, Book 3)Too Hot to Handle by Avery Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Too Hot to Handle by Avery Scott is the third book in The Catch series. This book can be read as a standalone book. It is a fun contemporary romance book with characters you will just love.
I have become familiar with Avery Scott’s work over the past year and each book has always been good. So when I saw this one I knew I had to try it. And even if I hadn’t been aware of this author the cover would have pulled me in anyway!
The characters in this book are great. They are just so good together. Completely opposite to each other their differences are what made them work so well. They complimented each other found their own rhythm.
I also enjoyed the story that went with these characters. It was easy to read but also a page turner. I found myself to be devouring the book – to the point where I read it in no time at all. This is a great book and one I would not hesitate to recommend.

Too Hot to Handle (The Catch, Book 3) by Avery Scott was a fun, hot, entertaining read, that had me hooked!

My first read from this author and in this series, I didn’t know what I was getting into. But with it’s enticing cover and raving reviews, I took a chance, and I’m glad I did.

This book was hooking from the start, I love Tony’s voice and his witty sarcastic ways. Gigi, she’s something, and such a wonderful character to read about. Both played off one another perfectly and entertainingly. The overall story reads like a block busting rom-comm, and the detail and steady flow just added to the wonderfullness of this crazy good story. I love how the author took something overused and made it into something new and shiny. These type of books are predictable, so I always love it when authors can take those concepts and make them fresh, and marvelous like a new toy. That my friends is true talent, and love for the craft.

Overall this book is a must read, and if the other book in this series are just as outstanding as this one, I’m going to be binge reading real soon. To end this book gets my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Happy Reading

This book is my first read from Avery Scott, and after reading Too Hot to Handle, I’m gutted I haven’t read book 1 and 2, but make no mistake I will be going back and reading the other books in the series. This book was excellent from the get-go. I have absolutely loved this read, this author has created an epic story with even better characters. Georgia and Tony were just perfect in this read, everything about them made this book better. I definitely think they were the perfect match even with the ups and downs they have, the banter and the interaction between them. Georgia & Tony both went through a journey through this read and it just helped them become even more intriguing, real and relatable.

This read flows effortlessly from chapter to chapter, and was captivating from the start to the very end! One last thing – can we can point out how hot this cover is, who doesn’t like seeing a sexy male in a uniform!
This is a book I highly recommend and a story you wouldn’t want to miss out on!

5 out of 5 stars

The story Too Hot to Handle (The Catch Series Book 3) by Avery Scott is a book that I loved reading. It hooks you in from the beginning and I found myself not wanting to put it down until I had read the final page. I loved the characters of Georgia “Gigi” Sinclair and Tony. Georgia is a woman who is successful in her social media feed. She is smart and sassy. She is also determined to win back the boyfriend that has called off their engagement. Tony is a firefighter. He finds himself drawn to Georgia, he can’t stop thinking of her. What does the future hold for Georgia? Is one of the two men her perfect match? Read this book to find out. I grew to care about what happened to Georgia and Tony with each chapter that I read. There is emotional dialogue. There are additional characters that were introduced and some of them I enjoyed reading about. There are also those that I found to have their own agenda and didn’t care about how their words or actions affected others. There are romantic moments included. I enjoyed reading about the interactions and bantering that goes on between Georgia and Tony. The author does a wonderful job in making both the storyline and characters come alive. I would highly recommend reading this book.

Too Hot to Handle by Avery Scott is the third book in The Catch series. This can be read as a standalone. Georgia has hit a bump in the dating scene and had an accident that requires the assistance of a fireman. In comes Tony to the rescue. Will the sparks explode between the two of them?
I enjoyed the dialogue between Georgia and Tony. They have an interesting chemistry because they do not seem to be a match especially in the eyes of Georgia but there is a draw between them. I also really thought the story was fun. I really liked the characters were being given second chances. I will be going back to catch the others in the series because I would like to see more of the other characters and see the other stories.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Too Hot to Handle (The Catch Series Book 3) by Avery Scott is a romantic comedy that continues with overlapping characters from previous books in the series. You can absolutely read this story separately, but I would encourage you to read the other books to get a more thorough sense of some of the amazing supporting characters. In Too Hot to Handle, this story had me laughing at some of the character hi-jinks to wanting to hug them or smack them on the head for some of their behaviors. Each of these brought a well rounded edge to the story and made it come full circle! Georgia feels like a lost individual during some parts of the story, but watching her come into her own and figuring out dynamics was well paced in the book. Then Tony, whew, talk about a hottie come to laugh. He gave this story just wanted it needed pairing up against Georgia’s softer character. I love Avery Scott’s writing and I think this is definitely my favorite from the series!

By Avery Scott
Rated 4 stars

This is not a first time author for me but this is the first book I have read in this series. I got hooked by the cover. Who doesn’t love a hot fireman story! That is what interested me so I snagged it.

Tony was great! A typical ladies man. Who can never see himself with the same woman night after night. His distaste for his friend Derron is almost comical at times and I knew it would bit me him in the rear eventually. I love how he calls Georgia “peaches”. His idea of a fake relationship with Georgia worked against him. It was sad to see him fall but i was very happy for him while reading his thoughts. Georgia really had personal growth in this story. I felt sorry for her at times when she went to visit her family. I loved that Tony stood up for her. (I think she loved it as well).

This is an easy read that flows very well. I was able to read it in a day because once it got moving I could hardly put it down. Georgia and Tony have ups and downs in their relationship. I really *felt* for them a couple times. I enjoyed getting to read their story.

This is the third book in this series, I enjoyed it just as much as the previous too if not more. I enjoyed how this story pulled me in right from the start. The characters are connectable, relatable and they seem to just pop off the pages. It is a well written story that kept me turning pages until the end. Georgia thought she had it all until her fiance breaks it off. She is determined to get him back until she meets Tony who just might change her mind. I highly recommend this book.

Some things are too good to be true…
Georgia “Gigi” Sinclair has it all. Just check out her social media feed. It’s full of designer clothes, first class travel and snapshots of her TV-star fiancé. Behind the scenes, things are a bit more complicated.

When Georgia’s boyfriend calls off their engagement just months before the wedding, she’s devastated and determined to win him back before he marries someone else.
Then she meets Tony. He’s a firefighter, but he’s also good at turning up the heat. Blue collar, streetwise and sometimes silly, Tony is nothing like Georgia’s camera-ready ex. He brings out a side of her personality that she buried long ago.

Two men. Polar opposites. Is one of them Georgia’s perfect match?

This book may be read as a standalone. It includes characters from The Catch and The Assignment.

His First Lady by Avery Scott – Review by Karyn Taylor

His First LadyHis First Lady by Avery Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

His First Lady by Avery Scott is a fantastic ‘fake romance’ novel. I am a fan of fake romance novels so was really looking forward to reading this one and it certainly did not disappoint. I had never read any work by Avery Scott before and if this book is anything to go by then I’m sure I will read more of her work.
Michael Reese is a candidate for the job of President of the USA. His campaign manager Tom decides that to improve his chances of winning, then he needs a ‘First Lady’, well not a real one, a fake one. Michael chooses his speechwriter Kendall to become his ‘love interest’. It certainly helps that as well as being intelligent and great at her job, Kendall is also beautiful.
Once they are thrown together, Kendall and Michael both realise that they have so much in common and actually really enjoy being in each other’s company.
The plan is for Kendall to jilt Michael at the altar but as the wedding gets closer and closer both realise that they would really like for the wedding to be real and not fake. But do they admit this to each other? Of course not! That wouldn’t make for good reading. This book has so much angst as Kendall and Michael fight their growing feelings for each other which makes this book a page turner.
This book is very well written and has fantastic characters. I loved both Michael and Kendall, whereas I really wanted to punch Tom, the campaign manager is the face so many times. I’m of the opinion that if an author can get you to hate a character then they have done a great job with that character.
I’d definitely recommend this book.

This is my first read by this author and I enjoyed how different it was. Micheal is a candidate for president but his rating aren’t where they need to be, so they find him a girlfriend named Kendall.(I love her!) They find themselves in a tough situation and end up engaged. Even though this is just a “job” the chemistry is off the carts between those two and lines are blurred between Job and reality will they be able to keep everything professional?
I really liked this book and I am looking forward to reading more by this author. I would recommend to a friend.

His First Lady by Avery Scott is a political romance story. Michael Reese is a politician running for President. He has a reputation as a lady’s man and his campaign adviser has the idea he needs a steadfast, loyal companion on the trail with Michael. Kendall Bailey is Michael’s speechwriter and gets wrangled into being the “girlfriend”.
The story and characters are good. The writing is easy to follow and allows this to be a quick read. This was a bit formulaic at times but still enjoyable. I was easily able to predict where the story would go. Personally, I prefer a bit of a twist or turn to the story but I liked this was because it was an easy, fast read. It allowed me to escape daily life and get away for a bit. I will be looking for more from Avery Scott in the future to see where she goes next in her storytelling.

His First Lady by Avery Scott, is an amazing read that shows even when something is supposed to stay fake, chemistry and passion can draw two together and not be anything near fake. Michael is a senior congressman and Presidential hopeful who has already been divorced twice and has a reputation of a ladies man. Many of his campaign people think that this could be damning to him and they decide that having a “first lady” will help him in many ways. That is where his new speech writer, Kendall comes in. Add in chemistry and a touch of drama and see what happens when things aren’t as fake as what they both think it is.
Avery Scott gave us a well written story with amazing characters. Me as a reader loves stories like this and it did not disappoint. I love that Avery gave us a story that pushes her characters to the wall and out of their confront zones. I give this book 4 stars and would love to read more from this author in the futures.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

His First Lady by Avery Scott was a sassy political fake relationship romance. I have been on a fake relationship trope lately but I wasn’t too sure on the political part of this book. But Avery’s writing had me glued to my kindle; I even read at the dinner table because I needed to keep reading.

Michael Reese is a 2-time divorcé who is running for president and according to his campaign manager (who I wanted to punch a few times) is in need of a girlfriend. Looking over the staff meeting table Michael lays eyes on his speech-writer Kendall. These two had amazing chemistry and could flirt with the best. The only problem I had with them is that they needed better communication but I would add that as a learning curve. Could Kendall really be his First Lady?

If you’re looking for a funny fake relationship romance with a little bit of politics mixed in, you will like this book.

Presidential candidate Michael Reese thinks his campaign manager Tom is crazy when he suggests Michael find a pretend girlfriend to soften his playboy image. On a whim, he glances around at the females on his team and discovers his only option there is his speech writer, Kendall. Wanting someone he can already trust for the job, he asks and she reluctantly accepts. After all, what could go wrong?! While the premise of this story is not new, I still loved how Avery Scott told this story. Kendall is a great character who seems to fight herself the entire book, trying to figure out how she really feels. She seems tailor made for Michael and the tasks at hand, managing it all like a pro. She tries to stay professional, but who can resist a man like Michael?! The note at the end of the book from Aver y Scott promises extra scenes from the book on her website, but the website seems to be down, so now I’m begging Avery Scott for a sequel! I thoroughly enjoyed these characters and would love to read more about them! Overall, a great, quick read! I give “His First Lady” by Avery Scott four stars!

Michael Reese is running for President of the United States in His First Lady by Avery Scott. Michael’s campaign manager believes that the twice divorced Reese needs a First Lady to help generate votes. Kendall Bailey is the candidate’s speechwriter who also happens to be in the wrong place at the right time when Michael agrees to taking on a First Lady. In the beginning Kendall balks at the idea but once she gets to know Michael, she changes her mind. Will being in the spotlight help or hurt Michael’s campaign? Will Kendall be able to fake her position or will she even need to fake her feelings?
While I don’t normally like political reads, I did enjoy this story. I loved the pluckiness of Kendall and the charisma of Michael. This was an easy story to read and flowed quite well. If you are a reader looking for a fun story with a different kind of story line do yourself a favor and read this book.

Every man needs a first lady that isn’t going to bring him down but make him stronger. To struggle with him and to win with him. Kendall is a perfect first lady and Michael couldn’t have better. I really enjoyed the story. The author gave us the behind the scene view of politics. Which is mostly a bunch of men and women trying to get ahead. There are many that care but most are looking for careers. I think I would vote for Michael. We need more people who have lived at the bottom but made it to the top. People that are driven to be more and do more. The story was classic in its path but unique in the delivery. The characters were flawed but showed growth and a need to be better. You see how past experiences effect your judgement even when that’s not how you wanted it to go.

His First Lady by Avery Scott is a sweet romance contemporary story that is easy to read. The story is well written and a nice easy read but it also frustrated me and I wanted to shake some of the characters. The main characters were likeable but I felt the story and the characters themselves were lacking. The premise for the story is great but I wanted more. More depth, more wonder, more intensity, just more. I did like the humour throughout which made it fun.

Michael Reese is a Presidential candidate and is happy with his life. He has been married twice & divorced and a bit of a lady’s man. When his overbearing campaign manager decides he needs to find a woman, a First Lady is when the fun begins.

Kendall Bailey is the new girl on the block, and his speech writer. She has worked for a few candidates before so she knows the drill but when she is propositioned for another position by the Presidential candidate she is blown away.

It is a nice and easy and fun read.

This was my first book by this author and I sincerely enjoyed it. The storyline was different yet familiar if that makes sense. Some things were predictable yet I loved watching what I thought would happen happen, and then some things were not predictable and I loved those just as much.

I read this in one sitting because it was that easy to read and flowed beautifully. There was no added “fluff” making every word meaningful, and it was just such a sweet story and I can not wait to read more from this author. The characters were all great and some things that I thought might happen during this story, things that worried me did not ever happen and I’m so glad this author steered away from this drama that could have played out. That probably doesn’t make any sense, but if you read the book, you will understand.

I loved it and highly recommend it to anyone that wants to read a seriously good story that will have you experiencing all the feels

His First Lady by Avery Scott had me from the very beginning. I loved Kendall and Michael and everything about their story. Though there were a few times I wanted to shake them to get them to wake up and talk with one another.

Michael a twice divorced batchelor has no plans to marry again, even if it will help him win the Presidency. He fights it tooth and nail and digs his heels in even though it was to his own detriment.

Kendall was working on the campaign as a speech writer and it ended up being so much more than a simple job. She fought her feelings as long as she could and fought admitting them even longer than that.

There was just something about the way they were together that I liked and would love to see more of them and their story. I wasn’t quite ready to let them go.

His First Lady was a good 4 star read.

Michael is in the presidential race and his campaign manager is pushing him to find a first lady. He’s not thrilled about it but finally agrees to it.
We need a First Lady to keep you out of trouble and to appeal to the electorate.

Kendall is Michael’s speech writer but when he called her in for a meeting to discuss a scheme she was floored, it was not what she was expecting. Michael was very convincing and Kendall finally agreed to help him. The only thing she didn’t expect were the feelings that were starting to flare up the more time she spent with him. Michael was also starting to see Kendall in a different light as well.

Will he let his guard down and let her into his heart? Can these two have a HEA?

I really liked both characters. Kendall was great she was smart, fun and knew how to stand her ground and give it right back. The bantering was great, I had several LOL moments. Michael was great as well even though he was a little reserved when it came to women. These two were great for each other and they had some very steamy moments. His First Lady, by Avery Scott, is a billionaire romance with a military undertone. On tap are one speechwriter and a presidential candidate; Kendall and Michael seem like oil and vinegar, but there is something deeper that works for these characters with more in common than anticipated. However, as the story unfolds, the author leads the reader on a journey – along with the characters. The interactions between the main and supporting characters was entertaining, and a times a little light. However, I felt the author did a remarkable job creating a story that was enticing with realistic characters and situations as the story continues on. I liked the characters in their portrayal and the pace of the story. Read this story to discover what situations the Kendall and Michael find along the way and whether or not it strengths them or ultimately leaves them on separate paths.

This was written off a Presidential campaign but it wasn’t super angsty. It was sweet and easy to read and I read it in one sitting.

Michael is on the Presidential campaign race. He has been divorced twice and he persona is more of the ladies man than anything and that’s something that doesn’t work in his favor. His campaign manager needs to find someone to stand in for the First lady so that he can appeal to the public. Enter Kendall. She is a speech writer for his campaign. Their chemistry is off the charts but can they keep the public happy? Can they prove that this is real?

This was such an amazing written book. It’s light hearted and hooked me from the beginning. These kind of books are a guilty indulgence of mine and this was perfect!

His First Lady by Avery Scott is a very sweet and easy to read story that takes place during a presidential campaign. It was such an interesting premise, and the blurb really did intrigue me- then add the sexy cover and I was sold. I did enjoy the story, but it didn’t grab me quite as hard as I was hoping for. The story is good, it is well written, but it was a little predictable and just lacked the intensity and added drama, or some suspense- which would have elevated it to the next level for me.
Michael Reese is a senior congressman from Kentucky and Presidential candidate on the campaign trail. He is twice divorced, with a bit of a reputation as a lady’s man. His campaign manager is worried that the people’s perception of his love life could affect his chances come the election. So, it is decided that he will need to find a ‘First Lady’ to stand beside him through the campaign. Someone who will help him seem more appealing to the voters. It can’t be just anyone, and most importantly it will need to be someone he can trust. That’s where his new speech writer, Kendall Bailey comes into the picture. She’s perfect for the ‘job’, and so Michael makes a deal with her that will help them both. But can they maintain a professional arrangement when their chemistry gets in the way? And with the world watching, the pressure is on. Things may not quite go according to plan? So, what happens you may ask? Well, if you like a sweet story, with just a little drama, great characters, and a fairly ‘clean’ storyline (i.e. fade-out intimate scenes) – then you should dive in and discover all the lovely details for yourself.
I would love to have given this book a higher rating, and debated about what rating to give it- part of me was leaning towards 3 stars because it just didn’t have all the ingredients that I would’ve loved it to have had, and which would’ve made it far more memorable for me,  and make it stand out from the crowd. I really wanted to know more about the characters too- such as their ages, as well as more of their backstories.
But overall, it was definitely a light and fun read.
Looking forward to seeing what Ms. Scott does next.

Thank you, Ms. Scott!

This is the first book that I have read by this author and overall I really liked the story and her writing style. I liked that the characters in the story had to grow on me, yes it’s nice where you fall in love with a character straight away or have that instant connection but I do also like it when you have to work hard to get to know a character and I definitely had to do that with Michael.
Whilst sometimes the story lacked a little detail then characters and their chemistry was fantastic! I loved the connection they had, although they may have frustrated me at times I still found I was fully invested in their story.
I would definitely like to read more by this author in the future and think that His First Lady is a solid 4 star read!
