King & Hunt: A Lust / Hate Story by Brienne Dubh certainly lives up to its title of lust/love/hate. I really enjoyed this story and it had me wanting more. It is a novella that is quick and steamy, sexy and hot and is perfect with a drink for a few hours to escape. It is a fun story that will capture your heart and leave you anticipating what comes next. It’s like they say there is a fine line between love and hate. A really good read and I hope we get more from Brienne.

For one thing, I love the simplicity of the cover yet it draws you in! I absolutely loved this read, from beginning to end. This read had humour, romance, steaminess , it had me laughing out loud and had me grinning from ear to ear. For this being a quick read it didn’t lack in anything it was fast-paced, easy to read and brilliant from start to finish. This author has created an epic storyline two incredible characters that I couldn’t help but love everything about it, I loved their chemistry and banter even when they were enemies. This made for the perfect read to just sit and lose myself in in one sitting! I can’t wait to read more from this author, I will definitely be on the lookout for more from her.

New book – fun read! Christian and Gabriella jumped off the page and their emotions were high and vivid. You felt every single thing quite clearly and I really enjoyed watching the relationship evolve, so to speak. A very quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely recommended reading for romance lovers.

The insults, barbs, quips, and verbal jousting between Christian and Gabriella, came quick and fast. There is no love lost between the two, no matter how sexy they may think the other is- they can’t stand each other. Can they? In any other situation, they could probably just avoid each other indefinitely- but Gabriella is Christian’s sisters’ best friend. Making their situation even more complicated. But what happens when they call a truce? And what about the “lusty” part of this book’s title? Well, you will just have to read “King & Hunt” and discover all the steamy details for yourself. This story is definitely entertaining. I wonder what Brienne Dubh has in store for us next?

King & Hunt: A Lust / Hate Story By Brienne Dubh was a steamy short read. I finished this book in one sitting. It was addictive. Christian Hunt and Gabby King were enemies. They hated each other but put up with each other for Gabby’s best friend, Christian’s sister, Amy. After a run in with Gabby’s ex, and several drinks, something occurs that brings the two into a steamy set of events. The two can’t get enough of each other.
The storyline was fast paced and easy to read. I laughed several times while reading. I also loved the steamy scenes. This book was an excellent read that left me smiling at the end. I highly recommend it.

I loved reading the story King & Hunt: A Lust / Hate Story by Brienne Dubh. It is a book that pulled me in right away and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Christian Hunt and Gabriella King. Gabriella is strong, independent, sassy, and stubborn. One thing is for sure, she has a hate relationship with Christian. Christian is a man who never misses out on making a snide remark when it comes to Gabriella. A temporary truce was called, and an unplanned gesture has both of them questioning themselves. What does the future hold for Christian and Gabriella? Will the lust that they feel override their feelings of hate? Has their chemistry changed from hate to something more? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had me smiling and laughing out loud at the jabs that Gabriella and Christian throw at each other. There are also romantic moments that make the temperature in the room rise. This is a book that has a wonderful storyline and amazing characters. Don’t miss out on reading it. Highly recommended.

This is my first book by this author, I enjoyed it from beginning to end. I was pulled in right from the beginning and was kept engaged until the last page. This is a short story that is packed full of romance and steam. Christian and Gabrella have had a hate relationship forever until one day when they called a truce. What will happen when unexpected feelings start? Will they be able to go back to the way things were or will they let fate take over? They are great characters that bring the story to life. I enjoyed watching their relationship change and the struggles they go through. I highly recommend reading their story to find out what happens.

Brienne Dubh comes from a performing background with over 10 years acting experience. Studying performing arts and theater at college she then went on to university where she studied creative arts. With experience of both production and post production processes, she is a trained video editor and has also written and produced several short film scripts, one of which premiered at the Corona Cork Film festival. King & Hunt: A Lust/Hate Story, is Brienne’s fifth book, and this is something she is immensely proud of, especially because she had dyslexia and some days finds it hard to get the words down at all. Wow! This fast paced, paranormal romance was everything I hoped it would be and unexpectedly more. The characters are rich and detailed. The storyline moves quickly and maintained my interest from first page to last. The universe created in these pages was one that I immediately became engrossed in and didn’t want to leave. Cannot wait to read more in the series and from this author! A must read!

This fast high action, fast paced, paranormal, fantasy romance novel will change how you want to read about vampires in the future. This book is the prequel to the series so you learn a lot about the characters and you are prepared to dive into the Soul Keeper Series if you have not already read or have started that series.
This book, while shorter, does an amazing job of building foundations of each characters and histories of each. I, myself, have not read the Soul Keeper series, however, I am happy that I started with this book. Theodora, our main female character, is strong, willful and full of fire. Lizander is hard, impassive and not at all what you think he should be by the end of the book as he grows to be someone completely unexpected. Theodora is the keeper of a vampire’s soul. Lizander is that Vampire. The interaction between the two of them is both hilarious and tense, expected yet unexpected. I HIGHLY recommend this book for lovers of paranormal, romance, and scifi fantasy.

Just reading the summary had me sitting up ready to read this book. I was so sad that the story ended and I have to wait for the next book. The author really pulled me in with this story. The characters were great. I didn’t feel like I was reading a cliché story. I won’t put n spoilers because I truly think you need to grab this book so we can be anticipating the next book together. This short novella is the prequel to the Soul Keeper series. It is a good introduction. It explains how the characters all met and the beginning of Theodora and Lyzander’s relationship. Although Lyzander is made out to be the bad guy keeping Theodora and her husband apart, I love him. I know he’s not the true antagonist of the story. He is introduced at the end of the book but we still don’t know who he is. This was smart on the author’s part, everyone will want to read the next book to find out who he is.
I have always loved vampire stories. This one had an original twist to it that I found intriguing; a person being the soul Keeper of a vampire. I tip my hat to Ms. Dubh for coming up with the idea. I really like Theodora, she is an independent woman who speaks her mind and doesn’t take crap from anyone. Her love of comic book characters makes her quirky and lovable. I feel bad for Dam but I think he’s handling things pretty well. Even though I know he loves Theodora very much, I want him to step aside and hurry up about it. I believe the love between Theodora and Lyzander is going to be epic and I can’t wait to read the next book.

Oh man am I in love with this series. This is the prequel book to the Soul Keeper Series and I must say that I am well hooked. I really found the whole pretense of the book to just grab me and drag me in. The author has such a unique and unusual take on vampires and soul mates.
Lets face it the whole triangle thing going on between Theodora, Lyzander and Sam is seriously unique. I quite think I am routing for Lyzander though I have to say. I really like how the author has weaved this complexity into the book and how it adds to the drama and spice. I really look forward to reading more from this author

Awakening of a Soul Keeper by Brienne Dubh is a Prequel in the Soul Keeper series. This book is a brilliant introduction to what I feel will be an amazing series. The whole story I found to be unique. Although it contained elements of fantasy that is, on its own, quite common, the way the author combined these elements brings to life a uniquely interesting story. There were times I really felt sorry for Theodora. Not only was she thrust into this entirely unfamiliar world but her familiar, safe world was being compromised because of it. And yet how she dealt with everything bring thrown at her was great to read about. I really felt like we were taken along on a journey through this book and it has left me excited to see what might be next for this series.

Awakening of a Soul Keeper: Prequel to The Soul Keeper Series written by Brienne Dubh. This is a quick short read. You get to know Theodora, Sam, Lyzander and Roman along with how they met. I have not read the other stories in the book so getting to know them as the stories progress will be interesting based off of this. I like Theodora she seemed like a strong character whether she was defending herself or just being herself (even if she had to be a mouthy). Lyzander I think will be interesting to get to know, he seems like the big bad alpha male (which is expected since he’s technically the king). I’m curious to see where the story goes and the way this ends definitely makes you want more.

Awakening Of A Soul Keeper: Prequel To The Soul Keeper Series by Brienne Dubh is a paranormal romance and a nice change from the normal vampire stories. This is the first book I have read by this author and it certainly did not disappoint. It is an easy fast paced read that I thoroughly enjoyed and only wished it was a longer story. I devoured this book in one sitting. The story is powerful and intriguing and enticing and had me enthralled to the very end. Brienne is a great storyteller and her character building is spot on even with their quirks and all, I loved them.
Theodora went from a normal life, to suddenly being thrust into a world of violence and danger, lies and secrets and unimaginable beings that are powerful beyond her comprehension. As if that was not enough of a bad day she also finds out she is not what she thought she was. One touch and her life is forever changed. Her world as she knew it is no longer the same.
I look forward to reading more of this series and more from this author. Well done Brienne.

I love a good vampire book but I’m also pretty particular about how I like my vampires to be written, I want a unique story that still stays true to your “typical” vampire tendencies. I thought that Brienne Dubh crafted a fantastic book that exceeded my expectations and I’m incredibly curious to see how this series plays out. I feel like like a prequel is so crucial to determining whether a series is “worth it” or not, especially with no prior knowledge of the author’s writing style. This was my first book I’ve read by Brienne Dubh and the fast paced storyline with strong, well built characters tells me it won’t be my last. This book leaves you needing more, not in the lacking sense but in the anticipatory sense! 5 stars for this book and definitely adding Brienne Dubh to my authors to watch out for list!

This paranormal romance is a fast paced story that grabbed my attention on the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until the last page. This is the first book I have read by Ms. Dubh, however I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series. This book has a new twist on vampires and shapeshifters and the world building is very descriptive and entertaining. Theodora is a strong and unusual lady, who is dealing with some big change that come into her life, not the least of which is Lyzander who is her husband Sam’s new boss and her vampire mate. Theodora’s husband just got a wonderful advancement in his career, working for an infamous man. So they go to a club to party and celebrate. And that is where it all goes wrong. She’s starts feeling things she has never felt before. Then she is told things she cannot fathom. Her husband’s boss is not human but a soulless vampire. And she is supposedly his soul keeper. This is all too crazy to be true, right?
This seems like a good introduction to a new series. I cannot wait to see where the next book leads us. I do like both Theodora and Lyzander. They are both very strong characters each themselves, but they are forced to be together. This is a new take on vampires, who, let’s face it, have flooded the book industry. I very much enjoyed this aspect to it. The action in the story too is pretty good. You are thrown into it after a brief introduction to Theodora and it does not really stop. Not to mention a few surprises thrown in for good measure.
I thoroughly enjoyed this supernatural book and cannot wait to see where this story will go next.

Brienne Dubh is a new author to me, and I have to say that I will be following her. Her book Awakening Of A Soul Keeper: Prequel To The Soul Keeper Series is a very intriguing story. Brienne has done an amazing job of character building. For each character, I feel that I really know and understand what each character is all about. I was pulled into the story relating to Theodora. It is a fast-moving story which helped keep my attention in the story and not in my surroundings. The story is about Theodora who is put into a world of vampires, lies, violence, and has found out that she is the keeper of her husband’s boss’ soul. This proves to be interesting because she is caught in situations that she cannot help to a point.

A great read about fate. Theodora thinks she has it all happy in a new marriage with Sam. But fate deals her a hand when she feels ill and accidnelty finds her soul mate. Lyzander has a busy schedule as head boss of vampires and no time for a soul mate. But when fate deals him a hand in Theodora, will he take a chance of push her away? A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Theodora standing up for herself but struggling with a new world or Lyzander harsh exterior but kind underneath. I loved how the story started straight into the action with the fight scenes. I loved the different take on vampires with their souls and soulmates adding to the vampire genre. I loved the mix of fantasy with vampires and then realism of the business world and party scenes combined together beautifully. Overall, a great read and I would give it four stars

5 out of 5 stars Wow Awakening of a Soul Keeper is the prequel to the Soul keeper series written by Ms. Dubh is amazing and my first read by her. I love these kind of series and this book intrigued me so I had to read this book and I was glad that I did. The characters are amazing especially since all of the crap they are going through. I love the quirks these characters have and the storyline is amazing. Theodora is thrust into a dangerous world of powerful beings and surrounded by treachery, lies and violence, when she accidentally discovers not only is her husband’s boss a vampire, but she is also his soul keeper and fated mate.
Lyzander is the leader of all vampires the last thing needs or wants is his soul. With so much on the line he can’t afford to be anything but vengeful and Theodora’s presence jeopardizes everything he is.
Now forced to stick close to her unwanted mate, Theodora struggles to keep hold of her sanity and her marriage as she discovers who and what she really is. This book had me hooked, and I can’t wait to dive into the rest of this series, that and… This powerhouse read ends on a powerful cliffhanger… So I need me the next book in this series. I loved this so much! This was a fast paced, quick read in one sitting kind of story. I truly enjoyed the storyline and love how this author has set up the beginning of this series.
This is my first read by this author and I found the flow to be smooth and absolutely can not wait to read more. Well let me rephrase that, I MUST read more after that ending.
I loved the characters and I especially loved how different the story involving vampires was. I have read a lot of vampire stories in the past and was pleasantly surprised at how this one was told.
I highly recommend this story, I’m not going into any details, I went in to this completely blind and this is one of those books I am so glad I did.

Awakening of a Soul Keeper is the prequel to The Soul Keeper series by Brienne Dubh. If this book is anything to go by, the series is set to be fantastic, and is off to a great start. This is my first read by Ms. Dubh and it certainly won’t be the last. I am really looking forward to reading the rest of this series and seeing what Ms. Dubh has in store for us. This is a really great story and I really liked the authors original twist to vampire lore- this paranormal story has action, some adventure, drama, violence, tension- and much more. It is a short story, which makes for a very quick and easy read. The characters are fully developed and interesting individuals who pulled me into the story and kept me reading, needing to know how it all plays out. Well worth the read!

Awakening Of A Soul Keeper – Prequel to the Soul Keeper Series by Brienne Dubh was a fast pace, paranormal romance that puts a new spin on your normal everyday vampire read.
By first read by this author and for this series, being as this is the prequel the events take place before the main series, so you will be free from spoilers. For me it was a pretty good intro to this world that Brienne Dubh has created.
This book was powerfully intriguing, and for me, quite unique in its approach in tackling the vampire sub-genera. I’m not going to get into it, because this will ruin the whole experience. Lets just say, this book took a bit of a turn that I wasn’t expecting, and I dig it.
As for the aesthetics, this tale, though short, managed to developed it’s characters without sacrificing world building, or attention to detail. It’s nicely balanced and a treat for the eyes. The flow was smooth, and the sinnister dark undertones, keeps your attention throughout the read. This books starts with a blood bath before switching to a more lighthearted first chapter. Right away there are signs and cluse pointing towards a darker plot and world.
Overall this book hooked me, and I can’t wait to dive into the rest of this series, that and… this powerhouse read ends on a cliffhanger.. so yeah.. I need me the next book. On that note, please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will get sucked into this original world, and I will tell you, you are not going to see what happens.

I love this vampire story that is full of action and romance. This is my first book by this author and I will be going back for more. I loved how I was pulled right into the story and felt part of it. This is a story about Theodora. She has been thrown into a situation where she finds herself life mates to her husbands boss. How will she handle this on top of everything else that has happened? These are creative and well written characters that kept me reading until the end. A must read story!

Awakening of a Soul Keeper is the prequel to the Soul Keeper Series by Brienne Dubh. This paranormal/fantasy romance is rife to test your limits as the story unfolds full of vampires. The story opens in a simple manner, taking the trail that all relationships need work to remain successful. Then, the shift occurs and what you thought, is definitely not what you expected. Brienne Dubh has taken a different spin on vampires and their interactions with their own kind, and others. The way the author tackles the back history was expertly laid into the story. Theodora’s life has just spun on its axis. Her character has been thrust in so many directions it’s amazing how strong she comes across. Lyzander is formidable and meticulous down to his core. He has boundaries and they way he lays them out – just, wow! There is something stirring and it’s going to be big. This story does end on a cliffhanger as it’s the prequel to the series. Excited anticipation until the next book comes!

The story Awakening Of A Soul Keeper: Prequel To The Soul Keeper Series by Brienne Dubh is a romantic fantasy book that I loved reading. It is a story that had me turning pages to find out what happens next. I love vampire stories and this one is an example of why. There is wonderful world building and once I started reading, I didn’t want to put it down until I had finished the final page. I loved reading about the character of Theodora. She is someone that I found myself caring about what happened to her and empathizing with the situation she has found herself in. She is learning and experiencing things that she never believed possible and this does have her at times overwhelmed. Her emotions are conflicted as she deals with being the soul keeper of a vampire and also trying to hold on to her marriage. Lyzander is a vampire that must show no weakness. He has to be seen as strong and finding his soul keeper has put everything he is in jeopardy. The bond between them both is strong and unexpected. What does the future hold for both of them? Read this book to find out. This story is fast-paced, has action and danger. There are additional characters that are introduced, and you read about their part in the book and also their interactions with Theodora and Lyzander. This is a thrilling story that I would recommend reading.

Wow! What a great beginning to a new series! I was drawn in by the lure of a sweet vampire story. Then the characters became alive and i could hardly put this down. The story is unlike any other I have read. All because of Sam. He is the husband to the Soul Keeper. Every twist and turn I wanted to see what would happen to Sam or Theodora or even Lyzander next. I read this fairly quickly and I can not wait for the next one to come out!
This is a first time author for me. It was beautifully written and full of intrigue. Just enough Info given to keep me on the edge…begging for more. The story was different (meaning who ever heard of a third wheel on a vampires mate??) but well done. The characters were sassy, bossy and strong. I loved it all! So so glad I picked up this book on a whim!

With experience of both production and post production processes, she is a trained video editor and has also written and produced several short film scripts, one of which premiered at the Corona Cork film festival. Originally from England, after a few years of travelling the world Brienne moved to Ireland where she currently lives on a homestead with her husband, 2 young daughters, 10 chickens, and a cat named Tilly. Brienne now spend her days coming up with imaginative stories where you can escape everyday life.
