The Mind-Reading Hat (Invisible Magic Wand Series Book 6) by Lois Wickstrom – Review by Cindy Mayberry

The Mind-Reading Hat: Invisible Magic Wand Book SixThe Mind-Reading Hat: Invisible Magic Wand Book Six by Lois Wickstrom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another Unbirthday for Caspian. This is a great story for children! It is based on the relationship between a boy and his grandfather. In this story Caspians gift from his grandfather is a findora, just another word for hat. But this had allowed Caspian to hear the voices of those around him. I am loving this series. It keeps the children engaged and keeps the parents reading to their children, just a little longer. It is also easy enough for beginning readers. This author takes another step in Caspian’s adventures, as he continues this relationship with his grandfather. The pictures are also fun to look at as they also tell the story. I recommend this book to all parents of young children.

Switching witches is always a bad idea. But for Rafe and Cheyenne it seemed like the best option. As Rafe chooses love over his arranged marriage. Leaving his ex angry and out to make chaos and mayhem. Let’s read how these 3 people make this a fun to read story. This story is book 2 in this anthology. Many emotions will be exposed, along with evil vs good. I really enjoyed reading this paranormal romance. This anthology has many new authors for me. Which always makes reading exciting. Until the day she is kidnapped…… That’s all you get from me. No Spoilers! This is one of my favorite authors. You know the kind, where you drop everything to read the next book in the series. She did not disappoint with this one. This story is fast paced and high energy. Just when I thought the worst was over, I was wrong. I fell head over heels in love with this family and their wives. The female characters are strong and independant and the men are hot and steamy, oh and deadly. This is a must read!

Heart Broken (Satan’s Devils MC #5) Audio Book by Manda Mellett – Review by Cindy Mayberry

Here is another fast paced, suspenseful, emotional rollercoaster. I didn’t think this author could break me down again. I thought she had done her worst. I was wrong! This is a continuation of Heart’s story. While out on his own for 6 months, all he wants is to be with Crystal. He is so angry and the cops are doing nothing to find her murderer. But there is Marc, a detective who is getting no help from the dirty cops she is stuck working with. Something is rotten, and she is getting the dirty end of it all. There will be no spoilers here! You have to read it for yourself. This author has continued to write stories for the Satan’s Devils MC and the strength the characters must endeavor. I was captured before the first chapter ended. Had even cried before chapter 2 began. I recommend you start this series at Book 1. Meet the characters and their places in this story. This is an audible book and the narrators are fantastic. Listening to this story makes it so much more intense. I Love This Series and the Author who wrote it.

When Gage finds Ten is over his head in the fighting, he comes to the rescue. Things at this point start changing and the story takes off. That is all I can tell you. Margaret Rose wants to be more than her mother. She wants independence, and she just might be strong enough to get it. This historical retelling will take you back to WWII. Living in poverty and having an domineering father. Makes Margaret Rose try that much harder. What lies ahead for her and where she ends up you will need to read this powerful woman’s story. I don’t usually read historical books, but this one caught my interest. I am so pleased with this story and the author who wrote it. This story is well written and easy to follow. For some, it may bring up memories of those days and the loss that was experienced. Be prepared to ride the emotional rollercoaster. Remember to bring tissues, chocolate, and your drink of choice as you will be here for a while.

The Cruiser (The Hustlers Trilogy Book 1) by Rowan Rossler – Review by Cindy Mayberry

The Cruiser (The Hustlers Trilogy, #1)The Cruiser by Rowan Rossler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lets just say this is a romance, cruising through rough waters. We never know what to expect in our day to day life. Vandana will experience something she never would have happened between her and her husband. With life crashing down on her. Vandana is offered a job of a lifetime. One that could change her journey as well as land a HEA. Morgan is a well known Yacht designer and knows what he wants and what he does not need. He has asked Vandana to go with him to Monaco and Genoa to help promote his yachts. That is all I am going to say about these two strong characters. This new to me author has really set the bar high with this romance. The story is fast paced and will keep you reading to the end. I loved this story and the adventure it unfolded. While this story is a romance, you will find it to be steamy as well as suspenseful. I Loved It!

Targeting Dart (Satan’s Devils MC #4) Audio Book by Manda Mellett – Review by Cindy Mayberry

Another fantastic addition to this MC. This is Dart and Alex’s story. Dart is a member of the Satan’s Devils. Not interested in becoming an officer or finding an old lady. He just wants to hangout with his brothers and ride with the bikers. No Commitment! Alex has left her abusive husband and taken her son where he should be safe. The husband, being a detective, can follow her wherever she goes. Unbeknown to Alex. She moves across states, and now her most important job is to find a job. This is another strong independent woman who is determined to make it on her own. Get her son safe and raise him to be a respectable man. That is all you get from me, no spoilers will be seen here. This author has once again given us a hair raising fast paced suspenseful story. This is one of those times when I wish I could give more than 5☆’s. This story is an add on to the others in this series. I recommend you start with book 1 and work your way to this the 4th book in the series. Get to know the other characters in this series and follow along. You won’t be disappointed, but you will give your emotions a workout. I am looking forward to listening to book 5 in this series.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a grand story. Learning to spell and read is always fun. Caspian’s Grandfather knows just what he needs for his UnBirthday. A pencil and green pad is only the beginning of this adventure. This author has quite nicely introduced writing and reading. Adding a little math and science. While this story is short, it is a great opening for a child’s adventure. Can Caspian find the Star of this story? The illustration is well done and eye capturing. I recommend this story to all children, just starting to read.

Saving Marvel (Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation #4) by Manda Mellett – Review by Cindy Mayberry

Saving Marvel (Satan's Devils MC Second Generation Book 4)Saving Marvel by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am positive, when I tell you this series is well worth your time and money. This is Marvel and Virginia’s story. Being caught up in a bank robbery is bad, being stuck in a small room with a total stranger is bad, but those are nothing to Virginia, compared to the last few years of her life. The strong and helpful Marvel is one to be trusted, unless you fear his type of men. Marvel on the other hand wants nothing to do with women. He has been jilted once and he keeps clear of all women. He has given each and every one of his Brothers hell for finding their old Lady. Says it will Never happen to him! Well guess what? Marvel is stuck in a tiny bank room with said woman. For hours and hours and hours. That is all I am going to say about this story. No spoilers for you. This author and her creative mind has once again written a story to be read by all. You can’t help but fall in love with the characters that make the Men and Women of the Satan’s Devils MC. This story is fast paced and leaves nothing out. So I recommend you get everything you need before starting. As you will not be coming up for a while. I am sure the next in this series is already in the making. So get yourself caught up in this series as I know you will not be disappointed.

Nite Fire: Slash & Burn (Book 4) AUDIO BOOK by C.L. Schneider – Review by Cindy Mayberry

Can I start with? WOW! Just WOW! I have never been so intrigued with an audible Book. I was at the edge of my seat the whole time I listened to this the 4th book in the series. Really this author never disappoints! Dahlia, a shape shifter, a dragon, returns to hunt monsters, as well as  the Blight that continues to spread. She brings with her new team members. As she must keep the street cleaned of the unwanted. Can she and her team put a stop to the invasion of the human world? At this point I say please read the first 3 books in this exciting series. The Author for this series has really pulled out all stops. Her books are guaranteed to keep your interest. My world was stopped for 15 hours, I just had to finish listening to the book. This author never repeats actions or situations in her story. Her characters are strong as well as independent.  I love that the main character is female. Dahlia proves her strength and determination to complete what needs to be done. Monsters and Blight be warned.

This author has taken a different look into this family. I felt like she was bringing forth the family dynamics with some insight. Autism, anxiety and beginning a new school year are only the topping of this story. A must read for parents as well as teens.

This the third book in the series is more about Scott and the new obstetrician named Franceen. We all know bosses and employees should never be more. But in this case both these beautiful people are forgiven. (By me) Scott has a twin sister who is pregnant with twins herself. As her brother and a Doctor, he has to be the brother first and foremost. Franceen on the other hand is the Doctor who will care for Sissy. Although Scott has his own problems with the pregnancy, as a twin he feels her pain as well as the morning sickness. The author once again has involved me into this series. Read on to see what happened. This author has true skills when it comes to storytelling. Her writing is clear and easy to follow. Once I read the first chapter, I knew I was in for the long haul. This coming of age story has you traveling down memory lane, and visiting those times you had in high school. I love all of the characters in this book, and hated some too. The Billionaire's Slave by Stacy-DeanneThe Billionaire’s Slave by Stacy-Deanne by Stacy-Deanne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

To start out with this review, I must tell you this is a new author for me and I don’t normally read Historical anything. So this book sounded like a story I might like. I was wrong! I Loved it! Falcon and Penny are both fighting for what should be right. In a time where it is all wrong. 1864 a time when race held status. Only the whites were rich and owned slaves. But who can tell the heart what it wants. Falcon lost his wife and child many years ago. Feeling he would never open his heart again, that is until he saw Penny. Penny knew she would never be anything but a slave. Even though she was adopted by a white family, she was still a slave to their daughter. This author opened many hearts in this story. It was well studied and even better written. As soon as I opened this book I knew I was going nowhere until I read The End. The story is fast paced and never slowed. It kept my interest and I fell in love with the characters, well not so much with Rose. I recommend this story for all those with romance in their hearts.

Doctor D's Orderly AffairDoctor D’s Orderly Affair by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

There are a few good words to describe this book. Hot! Steamy! Funny, the laugh out loud kind as well as Heartfelt. Oh and Steamy gets it twice as Dr. Desmond Danielson is just that HOT and STEAMY. Having said that, Dr. D is a pediatrician and one that not only do the kids like him. So do the women working around him. He is just down right loveable, and puts his patients first, before play. Emily works in the ER. She is a good hearted woman who has an attraction to the children in the ER. She is their comfort as they wait for their parents to arrive. Now for the author! This author writes and describes her characters perfectly. She set her story up on the first page and keeps you reading. While this book seems like a short story, it is just the beginning for this Series. I have read many stories from this author and have never been disappointed. Her story is well written and will leave you wanting more. I am looking forward to reading so much more from this author.

A Hundred Wishes (Band of Sisters)A Hundred Wishes by Marianne Rice
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This has to be one of the best stories of the year. I love a well written love story, but when real people are involved, it makes it that much better. This author brought Gina and Bryce ‘ s story to life. Gina is retired military, after an explosion she finds herself injured, not just body but mentally as well. She does not let that keep her down though. She has her Band Of Sisters, who help her get through the healing process. But more than that, she has her crafts and even a teaching class online for children. So she has almost everything she could ask for, except for romance. She tries to keep that out of her life. Bryce however has fallen for this beautiful woman that wants nothing to do with him. Bryce has secrets too, so romance is not in his cards as well. But we all know that romance is going to happen no matter how hard we hide from it. If it can happen it will. Read this story to find out how Gina and Bryce learn to trust, laugh, grow stronger and yes fall in love. This story is a fast read and the roller coaster of emotions is faster. Get ready for this non stop ROMANCE.
