Loyalty & Lies (Spicetopia Book 6) by Phoebe Alexander is another hot and spicey read to this fab series. Phoebe always delves into things people see as taboo or a little different when it comes to sex, but she does it so well and I say live a little and delve in. I am sure some readers will live vicariously through this author. Spicetopia is the place to try new things. It is a place to give pleasure and increase your sexuality and sensuality. It was also great to see some old friends from another series Calvin and Paisley.

Loyalty & Lies (Spicetopia Book 6) by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Gail Guerrero

Four stars

When it comes to writing what most deem controversial Phoebe Alexander excels at it. I enjoyed this story a lot. Calvin and Paisley her celebrating marriage and a baby. What better way to than an adult only resort! I really liked Paisley’s personality. She was so happy and spunky through most of the book. I loved that she could be who she truly was with her husband. That she was comfortable with their openness. But is it too smooth? Is Calvin taking to the life too well? I would definitely be questioning my man if he was just okay to it and took too it fast without some type of reserve. I overall enjoyed this story and wish the couple many happy years and more babies.

I give Loyalty & Lies (Spicetopia Book 6) by Phoebe Alexander, 5 stars.

If you have been following the Eastern Shore Swingers series by this author, you will recognize Calvin and Paisley. The story of how they first met is very good and I highly recommend it, but this book can easily be read without it. It is a story that works great as a standalone, and takes place after they have been married a few years.

This is the first time I remember the author revisiting the same couple from a previous book. I wasn’t sure how I would like it, but I did appreciate that it was yet again a different angle from one we have seen before. I don’t know why I worried, this author continuously amazes my by her precise and imaginative writing. As usual, I was pulled in from the very beginning and it just kept getting better and better. Being set in an adult amusement park, there is of course plenty of heat in his book but it is so, so much more. There are angles going on the the characters are not aware of. There is suspense and tension, both in the story and in their relationship.

Overall, this is a wonderful modern romance book with lots of heat but also a story that takes you for a roller coaster ride. I could not put it down and highly recommend it. As previously stated, it can be read by itself, but I also recommend the rest of this series as well as the Eastern Shore Singers series.

Loyalty & Lies is the sixth book in the Spicetopia series by Phoebe Alexander. This is a superb contemporary romance series that takes place at “Spicetopia”, the exclusive, adults only themed resort located in the Bahamas. If you have read the previous books, then you will know that ‘spice’ is the operative word when it comes to describing the activities on the island. But, you do not need to read the rest of the series to enjoy this book- only, I really recommend that you do, as they help set the tone and mood for the series as a whole -as well as being fantastic in their own right. But be prepared to develop a Phoebe Alexander addiction- as one book will definitely ignite your desire for more.
I loved catching up with Calvin and Paisley again- they are a favourite couple of mine. Initially I didn’t realise ‘who’ the MC’s in this story would be because I didn’t read the blurb as Phoebe Alexander is on my ‘must read’ author list and her books are always an automatic ‘one-click, no questions asked’. So, I was thrilled to begin and realise that this book is a bit of a cross-over from the Eastern Shore Swingers series. I met Calvin and Paisley in “The Catch” (Eastern Shore Swingers Book #2), and they have been one of my favourites of that series, and of Phoebe Alexander’s characters, ever since.
Calvin and Paisley arrive a Spicetopia for some spicy fun, and belated honeymoon, before the arrival of their baby. They are ready to inject a little more ‘heat’ into their relationship, with some kinky adult encounters with some new ‘friends’. Things seem to be going fantastically well, but soon Paisley is left reeling- but is it just pregnancy hormones causing strife, or is there something hinky going on? Of course, I should have expected that Phoebe Alexander would keep me on tenterhooks by throwing in some unexpected drama, angst, and emotion- which had me hoping that things would work out.
Another feather in the cap for Phoebe Alexander!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Phoebe Alexander!

Ooh La La

Phoebe Alexander is one of my favorite romance authors. From my first book and all the books after, I settle down and prepare to read until I am finished with the book. Spicetopia book series has been amazing and this book has to be my favorite so far. This book grabbed me with the characters. This is Calvin’s and Paisley’s story. We met them in a prior book and nothing made me so happy as them getting their own book. Calvin and Paisley have been married for a couple years and now they are expecting a baby. There is a bad situation that presents itself between Calvin and Paisley. Will they be able to work through this situation or will it bring it to a halt? Everyone needs to remember the truth will set you free. I highly recommend this book and all of Phoebe Alexander’s books.

Hacker (The Mercenaries Series) by Nadine Travers – Review by Rosemary Martinez

Hacker (The Mercenaries, #2)Hacker by Raven White
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this edition of the mercenaries series by Nadine Travers! It definitely contained just the right level of suspense to keep you turning the pages wanting to know what is going to happen. The author did a really good job of giving some background information on the characters without going off on a tangent and then having to settle back into the main story for which I was really grateful. You really find yourself rooting for them and wanting Hacker and Marie to win. There were totally times where I found myself yelling at Marie in my head. The romance/sexual aspect is complete without being all-consuming to the story. It’s a great book for someone who likes romance AND mystery/suspense. Hacker was undoubtedly a guy I could see myself being into. I will admit by the end I also wanted Sensei and Mika to develop a relationship. Perhaps the next chapter?

The Executive’s Decision (The Keller Family Series Book 1) by Bernadette Marie – Review by Angela Shirley

The Executive's Decision (Keller Family, #1)The Executive’s Decision by Bernadette Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What happens you are looking at repeating a mistake you made in a previous relationship. Regan knows Zach is not the same as her ex-boyfriend but can she truly give all to him and disclose her horrendous past.

When Regan moves to her new job, she swears off any office romance, as past history has not been healthy for her but that’s before she met her boss, Zach Benson. Oh, this man is wonderful and shows early on that he has feelings for Regan but she is trying hard to keep the distance between them until she can’t stay away any more.

Zach knows as soon as he sees Regan that he has fallen hard for this woman, he wants the marriage, Kids and the forever but as they start to get to know each other he feels that there is just something she is holding back from him. He is aware of her past relationship in bits but not the true story, but he knows that his family love her and are staying loyal to her but when she has to choose between the business and the love of his life, will he make the right Executive decision.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I really enjoyed the flow of the story; it is a typical boss and employee book but the characters were well developed and you felt like you were walking through the relationship with them. The secondary characters also in the book were brilliant and I would love to read more of the series and get to see inside the lives of some of them we had a brief insight into within this book.

Zach’s character was the alpha male protector and I loved his character and thought it complimented the character of Regan but at times I was a little frustrated with Regan’s internally arguments at times, although with this said I thought her character was portrayed brilliantly and some of the difficult topics were handled with the delicacy and respect they needed to be. I can’t wait to read the next story in this series as there is a great taster at the end of this book that I can’t wait to read Madeline and Carlos’s story next.

These two have been married for three years and are expecting their first baby. Calvin expresses interest in bringing others to their bedroom and Paisley is excited at the thought. They head off to the Bahamas to an adult only theme park, Spicetopia, where Paisley soon finds something is really wrong. Hacker: The Mercenaries Series #2 by Nadine Travers

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Travers is an amazing author who keeps readers coming back. This is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.

Chris “Hacker” Montgomery had the best night of his life six months ago. Then she disappeared. No calls, emails, or anything. Now he’s in deep with her and is trying to keep her alive. Can he do it? The quote I chose for Hacker is: “I don’t know. I knew she was Italian, but I didn’t know she was part of that family. She introduced herself with a different name. I didn’t check into anything or look into her background. She was sexy as hell, and it was the one time I let my dick control my brain. I shouldn’t have.”

Marie Costa is the daughter of a Mafia king. When her life is put in danger she makes a phone call. Little does she know she’s not just involving Hacker, but the entire team. Her past is revealed and she’s not sure how he’ll handle it. The quote I chose for Marie is: “Why didn’t you say anything?”

Highly recommended for Romantic Suspense lovers.

Office Romances are one of my favorite go-to genre. So when I saw this book it was a no brainer. I am so glad because this book is amazing. It has thrills and chills, fun and sun with delightful characters who come into their own.

I love how determined Zach is to get her to date him. Their first meet was inspiring and that first date was adorable! Zach is an ideal guy..hard in the office and a big softie out. Regan didn’t want to fall into the same trap she had once before. She is involved but always holding Zach at arms length. I loved her business savvy. Their story is one of my favorites…a definite reread.

The Keller’s are quite a different family. I loved their uniqueness and how they stand together! Zach’s mom is fun and delightful. Always pushing but she never seems over the top. I look forward to the next in this series but I’m thinking this office romance will be my fav.

This is my 2nd book of this series and also by this author. I enjoyed the first one, but do believe this one is my pick so far. Still just a bit predictable for me, but definitely held my interest till the last page. The writing style has an easy flow making it an easy read to get lost in. I did find myself confused a few times but was able to get back on track pretty quick. I never connected strongly with Marie, I’m not sure why but something did bother me about her. I did like the humor that was spaced out throughout, and I did LOL a few times.

I did enjoy reading this and it absolutely can be read as a stand alone. I will be looking forward to the next one.

I loved this romance book. This is an author that I have loved reading her books from the first one I picked up. They are hot, steamy and have a great story line. This is the sixth book in this series which I would highly suggest reading from the beginning. It will help your enjoyment of this series. I loved being pulled into the story from the first word. The characters are relatable and keep you turning pages to the end. This is a story about Calvin and Paisley. I first met them in another series and I am happy to see them in this one to see what they are up to. They are celebrating their anniversary and expecting a child. Their relationship soon takes a turn where Paisley thinks she has caught him in a lie. What happens next I highly recommend reading to find out. They are great characters that bring the story to life and really made the story for me. I highly recommend this book and this author.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 6th book in the Spicetopia series and these books just keep getting better and better. Even though they are a series they can be read as a standalone as they each focus on a different couple.

This story focuses on Calvin and Paisley. Paisley has always had an adventurous side when it comes to finding pleasure whereas her husband Calvin has more vanilla tastes. Determined to have an open mind and to celebrate their anniversary Calvin books them on a trip to the best adult only theme park Spicetopia. Paisley is so excited about this experience and wants to make the most of it before their baby arrives. Calvin wants to be open minded enough that Paisley can 100% enjoy herself.
However something is wrong. It could just be the pregnancy hormones but in Paisley’s eyes Calvin is taking to this a bit to easily.

Is Calvin hiding secrets from her? Is there lies in her marriage she doesn’t know about? Even though they are madly and completely in love is their relationship strong enough to stand the temptations and experiences Spicetopia throws their way.

The Executive’s Decision (Keller Family #1) by Bernadette Marie is contemporary romance story. This office love story is full of unexpected twists. I enjoyed the family dynamics; they were well written. There is a lot going on in this story with betrayal and pain, love and romance, humour and witty banter, passion and love, fear and forever. It is a little predictable, but it still plays on your emotions. I found the female lead a little frustrating at times but overall, my heart felt for her.

She is starting over after pain and betrayal and has given up on love. He has never really had a life beyond work. But one fateful fall set them on a journey to find love.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Executive’s Decision is the first novel in the Keller Family series by Bernadette Marie. It is a steamy office romance that doesn’t disappoint!

Regan Keller is back in Nashville, where she grew, near most of her family, and starting over. She is just starting a new job as an executive assistant to the CEO of a successive architectural firm.

Zachary Benson is carrying on the family legacy. Running the firm his grandfather started and doing a pretty darn good job of it.

When Regan’s morning before her first day of work doesn’t go as planned, she finds herself in the lap of a handsome stranger on the bus. When she later finds out who that stranger really is, she cannot help but feel duped. But what if the one thing she told herself she would stay away from is exactly what she needs in her life?

I really enjoyed the characters and the world that was built in this novel. I cannot wait to read more about Regan’s siblings!

Oh I could not wait to get my hands on this book! It is the second of The Mercenaries series and the first really drew me into the hot romance and suspense that it gave and left me wanting more. This one does quite the same, keeping you on the edge of your seat as you wait and see what could come next. It completely draws you into the drama and suspense and leaves you fanning yourself with the underlying romance aspects. I was completely engrossed and read it in one evening. Hacker is a complex character and we see that as he tries to help the woman he is in love with. As for details you won’t find them here, not any more than what the blurb provides because that would spoil the thrill of this read in my opinion. Trust me you won’t be disappointed if you one-clicked, and will want the first book if you haven’t read that one either. I can’t wait to see what will come next!

Loyalty and Lies by Phoebe Alexander is book six of the Spicetopia series. This book can be read as a standalone similar to the other books I. The series but you should definitely just read the whole series.

Calvin and Paisley are celebrating their anniversary and figured they may as well go big before their new arrival. They decide that a getaway to an adult theme park is exactly what is needed. They had no idea what they were going to get into. Will this trip be everything they wanted or will it tear them apart?

The Executive's Decision (Keller Family, #1)The Executive’s Decision by Bernadette Marie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Executive’s Decision is the first book in the Keller Family series by Bernadette Marie. This was my first time reading any of this author’s work and I’m so glad that I took a chance on this book as I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a contemporary romance set in Nashville Tennessee.
I really loved the dynamic of the Keller family. The siblings and their parents have so much love for each other and the support that they all have for each other is very heartwarming. I’m really looking forward to reading more from this family and getting to know the other sibling better.
In The Executive’s Decision we get the story of Regan Keller who is still coming to terms with the breakup from her previous boss. The last thing she needs is to fall in love with her new boss. It would be a very bad idea, or would it?
Zachary (Zach) Benson is used to getting what he wants, and he really wants Regan and can’t understand why she so adamant about not having a relationship with him.
I really loved the dynamic between Regan and Zach. Their chemistry is amazing and I was pulled into their story from the very beginning and taken on a journey that I really enjoyed. I’m looking forward to reading more from this series, in particular I really want to read Carlos’ story.

So usually I have an issue with standalone that I feel like there’s a huge gap missing as I didn’t read the first book but this book didn’t suffer from that at all which I was thankful for.
I really enjoyed the plot and the characters, the story kept me interested and hooked and I couldn’t wait to finish it. The book has some humour which was good in the moments we needed and romance and steamy moments. Really enjoyed this.

I highly enjoyed this romance read from beginning to end. I ended up reading this book in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to stop once I got started. I was really intrigued by Regan from the get go and I couldn’t wait to read more about her and see how her story played out, and I was not disappointed in the slightest.

This story flowed really well, there was so much detail that I found it really easy to picture everything playing out in my mind, which kept me highly entertained. I also loved all of the secondary characters in this story, they added so much depth and I hope to read more about them in the next book of the series as well.

This was my first book by this author but it won’t be my last. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next romance read!

Book 2

This is a full length, edge of your seat, romantic suspense. Be prepared to go for the long run. Once you start this book, you will not be able to put it down. Highly addictive, hot and steamy, and even some Mafia Kings.

Chris “Hacker” Montgomery has met his soul mate. Okay maybe his one true love, she disappeared in the night. As he continues his work and searches for her, she can’t be found. He is not willing to let her go. Marie Costa is a beautiful young lady, she has raised her sister and followed her father’s demands. But enough is enough! She escapes only to be threatened to return home. Her father has promised her to a rival mafia king. He only wants to join groups and become more powerful. Deciding on her and her sister’s fate, she goes back for help from Hacker. Hacker is angered and yet willing to bring his team in to help Marie and her sister escape. Now! Will he be able to keep his head about him? Will Marie get the help she needs? What about the mafia kings? Who gets the girls?

Nadine Travers has written this non stop action story. This is one of those books that will keep you engaged and reading. The emotional highs and lows, along with the fighting for freedom is what this story holds. Nadine Travers writes her women to be strong, while very frightened, yet they still show some grit. You can’t help but love the characters. Hacker and Marie are both strong willed. But you will also love Tank and the other Mercenaries as they help out Marie. I can’t wait for the next installment. Well Done Nadine Travers! Well Done!

Hacker a suspenseful four-star read. This is number two in the Mercenaries series, I haven’t read number one but didn’t feel like I was missing anything from the previous story. This had action a plenty and drama was definitely a foot, there was some romance and sizzle, but it wasn’t the be all and end all. Fast paced through this story and has enough characters that you are kept interested but not enough that you get lost. Marie and Hacker will make you care and want to know more about them.
