Least Likely Suspect: Revenge by Cooper McKenzie is a must-read gripping crime story that will have you enthralled from start to finish. Now that I have discovered Cooper, I am looking forward to seeking out more of her work. It is an emotional short story, but it packs a punch. Being a mother and a grandmother, I know that I would think about harming anyone who harmed them. But I will not reveal anymore and let you discover and uncover this story all on your own.

Great Read! Least Likely Suspect: Revenge is my first read by Cooper McKenzie and I was very pleasantly surprised! I wasn’t sure what to expect but I am so happy that I decided to get out of my comfort zone for this one!
Samantha has been through so much, and even thought I can’t relate on the age part, I can relate to the grief of losing someone you love. After the tragic loss of her son Thomas, Samantha wants revenge.
Micha is one of her son’s best friends and he wants to help her. But is this something Samantha can do?
Although it is a short read, there is so much detail packed into this amazingly told story. It is definitely worth the read!

I really enjoyed this book. The story was captivating and I couldn’t put it down. The main character was someone I could understand and relate to. As a mother myself with a son if I was to experience what she had I would have the same feelings of anger and revenge in mind.
When Samantha found out her son had died at the hands of his girlfriend all she see is red. Her heart is broken and as well as grief and is also consumed with anger and can only think of getting revenge on the person who murdered her son. When her son’s friend Micah came to her with a proposition to leave her life as a retired school teacher behind and become a secret assassin in exchange for getting her son’s killer brought to justice, she jumps at the chance. Will Samantha finally get justice for her son? Can she really become an assassin instead of a retired school teacher who sings in a church choir? Will the job of bringing bad people to justice give her a purpose in life again?

Very intriguing book. A trip between the past and present that gives a view into a momma wanting revenge for her son’s killer. I would too if given the choice. It was a very original plot written with her falling into the misfits. Being a momma, I could feel every feeling she went through. The pain, sorrow, sadness and every other feeling our children put us through. A really wonderful suspense story that I would definitely recommend.

Sirena Van Schaik wrote an amazing novel with The Murders of Lillian Ross. The characters and the plot tell a chilling story of how socialite Lillian Ross ended up on Death Row.
Allison McKinnon is a true crime writer. After a few books on the victims of violent crimes, she is approached to write the story of Lillian Ross from the viewpoint of the killer. Reading through the trial transcripts is a part of her research. Feeling that there is more to her story than the trial transcripts giveaway. Jumping in feet first she meets with Lillian Ross many times to hear her story.
Lillian Ross has lived a life of adversity. Her mother was a southern belle that just happened to fall in love with a man whose desire for power was greater than his love of family. After a particularly traumatizing experience as a teen, Lillian runs away from home. She meets Adam Laurent after being on her own for two months. She thinks he is her saviour. After a peaceful few months living off the street, Lillian comes face to face with the stark reality of the life of a female on the run and off the streets.

I am sitting here trying to come up with words to express my thoughts on this book and i dont think i can even come close to doing it any justice. We meet Samantha, and like any mother would do, runs at the first word of anything happening with her child, grown or not.
Through the events she wants revenge of course but with some help she gets a purpose to her life again while working towards that goal.
I really hope we get more of this story or even more of the characters on this one. I was hooked to see what happened and I will be the first to say i am not a fan of flipping between past and present but it was done well here and needed for the story.

Least Likely Suspect: Revenge Cooper McKenzie is a fantastic and unique story. When I first picked up this book I really didn’t know what to expect. I found this book to be suspenseful, thrilling and emotional from start to finish. I never really felt like I had a handle on where the story was going which made it all the more interesting to read. I couldn’t help but feel completely invested in the main character and her journey. It was so heartbreaking and so strong. This is the first book that I have read by this author and it was a brilliant introduction. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this author.

Insanely good! The Murders of Lillian Ross by Sirena Van Schaik unfolds like you’re watching a movie. This fast-paced, page-turning read is full of action, suspense, and deep characters. I felt fully engulfed in every scene as it unfolded and the seemingly effortless writing by Van Schaik creates vivid scenes and connection to the characters. I picked up this book and finished it the same day—I couldn’t put it down!
Allison, a true-crime writer, is solicited by a convicted murderer to write her story. It is the opportunity of a lifetime, but Allison is in for much more than she bargained for with this assignment. Lillian tells her story in a way that keeps Allison (and the reader) wanting more in an effort to understand her crimes. I won’t say more because I don’t want to give anything away, but this was one of the best books I’ve read in a long time! Highly recommend!

This was a new author for me but I have to say that I may have found a new favorite. This book sucks you in from the beginning and keeps you hooked all the way till the end! I found her descriptions captivating and her characters thrilling! The plot was well thought out and I absolutely loved the various aspects the author added into the story to make it seem even more realistic. I would absolutely encourage you to read this if you are in search of an amazing author and story!

This book was so fun to read. Initially I found it hard to connect and be interested as the main character is a grief stricken widow in her 50s that likes to knit and sing in the church choir;. I’m happy to report I was wrong.
Mama Sam is a badass. Samantha is my new goal; not my “I want to be her in 20 years goal”, she’s my I want to be like her now goal. Sam is strong mentally, physically, and morally. She analyzes each situation and person to make the best judgement for justice as possible; but she’s real about the outcome. The author, Cooper McKenzie, didn’t just throw her into scenes to do the badass things and call it good, she made her FEEL them. She values life and suffers from the just consequences that are dealt, and I think that is a real game changer in a book, for a character to actually have emotions and succumb to them, then of course continue to be a badass.
The other characters in the book were also great and quirky; I’m interested to read on and see what other adventures await Sam and the team.

This is a great thriller. It was hard for me to read, only because it is one of my worst fears as a mother. No one wants to think about having to bury their child, let alone bury their child because they were beaten so badly. I really felt like I could relate to Sam, as a mother how far would I go for justice for one of my children? I can’t say, only those who’ve had to live it can say. My heart broke for Sam over and over, I just can’t imagine the pain. I really enjoyed reading Least Likely Suspect: Revenge by Cooper McKenzie. This was my first book by this author. I’m excited about the other works and hoping for another book like this or maybe a book 2? Please! I highly recommend this for the thrill-seeking readers out there, or even if you just need to switch up genres you read! You won’t be disappointed!
What a gripping story with an end that will leave your mind blown! L.A. Detwiler tells the story of a teenager named Jameson Mills. He is a boy looking for a place to belong. He and his mother live alone. He never knew his father. His mother won’t talk about him.
While searching for his hockey stick, Jameson came across a journal. When he opens it, he realizes that it’s an Arsonist’s Handbook. He decides that his father was an arsonist who couldn’t stay around because the need to burn was an all-consuming need. Jameson reads it from cover to cover learning the art of starting a fire. He then decides that at sixteen he needs a path to follow. He will become an arsonist like his father. Arson fires have been burning around his town. He’s sure his father is back, and he wants to make him proud.
After spending the night in the local motel with a prostitute, Pete Andrews is called by his wife who is shrieking at him about where he has been. An arsonist has set fire to his house. Maria, the person he left to babysit, got out safely, but not his son. His newborn son, Tanner, had died in the blaze. This sets Pete on a path of revenge. He will find who killed his son and make them pay.
Least Likely Suspect: Revenge by Cooper McKenzie is quite a gripping story that made me think about how far I would go to get justice for my child. Well, our MC Samantha is put in exactly that position when her son is so badly beaten that he succumbs to his injuries. Samantha is certain she knows who is responsible for his death- but proving it is where the problem lies. When one of her son’s childhood friends offers to help- things take a really interesting turn. Looking forward to more from Cooper McKenzie! Happy Reading!

Least Likely Suspect by Cooper McKenzie a fantastic five-star read. This will keep you on your toes, Samantha has been through the ringer and is now out for what she can, she just wants what we all want, to solve problems and find the truth. She joins a great bunch who will just make you smile, and keep you guessing. Sam has other goals that will keep you hooked along the way. This is a great story and one you would be sorry to miss. I’m not sure what I was expecting from this book but it wasn’t what I got, it FAR surpassed my expectations. While holding true to the suspense genre, this story really toyed with my emotions and felt deeper than I expected. It kept my attention throughout and the characters were realistic and in many ways, relatable. I think I enjoyed Micah’s character the most and genuinely appreciated the caring, familial feel to how the characters were written, despite being “secret, real life superheroes”. I would love to read more by this author in the future.

Cooper McKenzie just became my number one in thriller suspense. In this novel, Least Likely Suspect-Revenge, you find Samantha Wycoff,Wyckoff, mother who has to do the one thing a parent shouldn’t have to do. Bury her son. When she talks to her sons best friend, Micah, she wants revenge. Who could blame her. This novel is heartbreaking in the beginning but in the end, its a wonderful. I would rate this more than 5 stars if I could. The pictures that went through my head as I was reading was just amazing. The amount of detail that went into this novel is beyond amazing. I highly recommend this novel!!!!

Lillian Ross is in jail for a double murder and has never said a word about what happened and why, she didn’t even put up a fight for the court case, just letting them get on with it around her and has never opened up to anyone, that is until she approaches true-crime author Allison McKinnon. Allison has been writing her true-crime novels for a decade and it is always from the point of view of the victims, she does her research thoroughly and uses facts and first hand interviews to show the real impact which crime can have on lives and she is good at her job, so when she gets the call that Lillian Ross wants her to tell her her story, it is a chance she is more than willing to take, as long as the proper steps are taken and the proper paperwork and releases are signed.
As she approaches the prison for their first meeting, Allison has her legal support there with her, she is stunned when Lillian enters the interview room for the first time, she doesn’t look like her pictures, but she is still a beautiful woman who wouldn’t strike you as being a criminal if you saw her on the street, but there is something about her character which Allison feels is a little off, she agrees to sign off on all the paperwork and so Allison arranges with the prison to conduct the meetings, while in the background, she begins to make requests to Lillian’s family so that she can interview them for the book as well.
As the interviews progress, Allison hears about Lillian’s past and this is where similarities to her own past emerge, this sets off an inner turmoil in Allison, but she bravely carries on listening and tries not to bring her own demons to the fore at the same time. Will Allison be able to separate her story from Lillians, or will it lead down a path where only darkness lives and breathes? This is a thrilling look into how writing true-crime can impact the author as well as the criminals and victims and is an interesting glimpse into how the past can impact both the present and the future as you are drawn into two lives and want to see how their stories end.

This is the first book I have read by L. A. Detwiler, and I am beyond impressed. This twisted and gripping novel was the most original books I have had the pleaser to read. Suspenseful and horrifying, get ready to jump inside the minds of characters in what feels like an authentic dip into madness. Multiple points of view told from different timelines keeps you guessing until the very end with a very unexpected plot twist. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

The Arsonist’s Handbook by L.A. Detwiler was a really enthralling read. This book was written with so much suspense built up at the beginning, I had to finish it to the end just to see what happens. This was an amazing book. It was very well written as much as it was entertaining. I felt like I was actually looking into the mind of a psychopath while reading this book. I couldn’t put this book down! I highly recommend this book and definitely can’t read to more from this author in the future!
The title of this book got me hooked. The ending really did a turnabout for me. Excellent read and fast paced. A very tear jerker story. Couldn’t put it down.
Holy Wow, what did I just read! Yes, a fantastic book for sure. This story just sucks you in right from the beginning. The story of Samantha Wycoff, whom just endures every mother’s nightmare, her son was beaten and passes. The plot of revenge against Thomas’ girlfriend, Velvet Flores, should be sinister. We have then Micah come into the picture, Thomas’ friend, help Samantha grieve but then plot the revenge on Velvet. There were some twists and turns to get to an end result, but will the revenge on Thomas’ death be a reality or fail? You definitely have to read this book, it is fantastic. I would LOVE to see a sequel in this story.

The Divine Devils by R. Weir is about Hunter Divine who is a former US Marshal. He receives a call from one of many former lovers Paige about someone trying to kidnap her two kids. She pleads to him for help even though things didn’t end well between them. He indecisive but takes the job, he gets a team together to find out who is behind it and why. I absolutely LOVE this book!!!! I definitely can not wait to read the next book in the series. The Divine Devils by R. Weir is going to be a very addictive series.

Pete is the victim of an arsonist, losing his young son in a fire. Hell bent on revenge, Pete will stop at nothing to make the arsonist pay. He quickly becomes consumed with finding his version of justice for his son.
Wow…The Arsonist’s Handbook is a great read. The characters are likeable, relatable, and real. The emotions from Pete are heart wrenching, and the desire of Jameson to have a relationship with his father is as well. Told from alternating points of view, as well as including chapters from the notebook Jameson finds, this book kept me on the edge of my seat until the last page. I highly recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys a good psychological thriller! The ending was completely unexpected! I can’t wait to read more from L.A. Detwiler!
The Divine Devils by R. Weir is the first book I’ve read by this author. First of all, from the beginning of the first chapter it caught my attention. The description of the daily routine for the children and the men protecting and guarding them got my interest. Then learning about Hunter Divine a bit and the reason why he takes a job when a former girlfriend reaches out for help. The next thing that I appreciated was getting the back story on the characters working with Hunter Divine and how each of them met him. What kept me reading to the end was the intrigue, suspense, and wondering who and why these kids are being targeted. I would recommend this book to friends and family in a heartbeat.
