Love’s Refrain (The Stardust Duet, Book 1) by KG Fletcher

5 +++++++ Stars

I’ll start by saying this book deserves so many more than 5 stars! I’ll also start by saying that my life is now suspended in time until October 26th, if anyone is looking for me I’ll be stationed in The Grand Theater in Whitley, Georgia I’ll be the one way up front pacing as I await the rest of this story!!

I’ll be honest, I had every intention of not finishing this book. I planned to get to the last chapter and stop. I wanted to read that on October 26th so that I could continue on without stopping. I couldn’t do it… I trusted this author, somewhere I read where she stated this book did not end on an actual cliff hanger, but more of an intermission. So in trusting that, I read on…Now here I sit…suspended in time!

I have read the famous time travel story by another author 4 times now, you know the one I’m speaking of, I have them all on my physical bookshelf on the top shelf, and have watched those books become a series on tv, which i’ve binged at least 3 times. That series has ruined me for any other time travel I have attempted to read. Until now!!!! I was so nervous going into this book, this author has literally become one of my top 3 favorites of all time and I was so scared. Well, this is why she is one of my top 3 faves. I can not even think straight right now. She took a whole new approach to this genre and BLEW IT OUT OF THE TIME TRAVEL REALM!! I’m in shock and loved this story so much. I loved the movie from long ago that for me actually started this time travel idea, I’ve watched that so many times and it’s an auto go to when I’m looking for a familiar movie to watch. This story has that feel to it, but in my opinion even surpasses that and I want this made into a movie so bad. I loved every word, every emotion that was brought out of me, I loved these characters, well, almost all of them and truly felt I was tumbling through with Kat everytime. The locket had me all messed up, and figuring that out is still rolling through my mind. I have theories on how this story will progress and eventually end and these will drive me nuts as I’m pacing this theater awaiting the release of the next.

I’ve rambled in this review and I’m sorry, but I still can’t even come close to explaining why every reader should grab this book and then buckle in and hold on!

Thank you Miss Fletcher for stomping my fears and giving me this story, I am in Love, and these will be right up there on my bookshelf, at the top and will be read many many more times in my future!

This series has seriously become one of my favorite series ever! I think this one might be my favorite, I say might because it changes every time I read one! This author already sits up in my favorites and when a new release comes out it’s just automatic no matter the title, the synopsis or the cover, if it has her name..It’s an auto one click!

You could read all of these as standalones. Although I couldn’t imagine not having all of the books read in order to get the full effect. Especially this one, as I believe you would feel like you’re missing something. Also the connection to many of the characters truly needs to be made and understood to fully appreciate this story.

Miss Butler never stops making me smile and many times laugh out loud with Karina’s antics, and I’ve mentioned many times how I’d love to be her friend and partner in solving these mysteries she keeps falling into. I connected to her in the first book and absolutely love her!

The story kept me guessing and there were times I was so far off base I just laughed at myself.

I can not recommend this series and this book high enough and I can not wait to start at the beginning and read them all over again in the future!

Grab them all! You won’t be sorry!

This was my first book by this author. I’m saddened by this for two reasons. The first is I really wish I had read the first book in this series, as I can tell there are things I missed, although not completely necessary because I really loved this story. Second, I really love this authors writing style and enjoyed every word, and really hated when the book ended. The characters were beautifully written in a way that I felt I knew and understood them. I truly felt the emotions that were displayed throughout and literally read this in one sitting! There were quite a few perfectly placed twists that kept me on my toes, and that alone made me love this story even more! I will be buying the first book as soon as I finish this review and will read it today..

Awesome story, Awesome writing! Just love finding new authors that blow me away and can’t wait for more!

I loved the idea of this book and I loved finding a new author, one which I will read more of. I usually love a fast moving story, but there were times this moved a bit too fast for me and ended quickly. I didn’t get the build up I love when a book has this much going on. When I finished I didn’t feel as satisfied as I thought I would. In saying all of that, I did enjoy the book. It had a unique storyline that just needed a bit more expanding in parts. I really thought the book was going to end in a different way, so I was surprised at that, which I did love! I guess I just wish the book had been a bit longer and more time was spent on some of the scenes and topics.

I will definitely read more from this author as I did enjoy the writing style very much!

This was an enjoyable read. First, I’ve always been fascinated with the turtles and watch a lot of nature shows that talk about the conservation of these, so I found this part unique and I loved it.

I’m not super crazy about love triangles normally and I had this one figured out pretty early on, but did enjoy how it all played out. It was a very easy read and left me with a sweet comforted feeling at the end. I really enjoy this author’s books and her writing is amazing so I will always pick them up as I see them. Can’t wait for more!

I highly recommend this story, it was short, sweet and a definite one sitting read.

WOW!! She has done it again! This book was everything and more of what I was expecting from this author and her new series. I loved reading every single word in this story. I was completely wrapt up in it from the first chapter. I have come to realize I love the mafia style stories, especially when they are written like this. The secrets, the twists to the story that just flow out while reading that become those awesome wow moments. The many characters that I never had a problem sorting out while reading. The absolute bada** lead characters that left an impression, making them a lead couple I will never forget. The best friends, Oh my goodness I love them, they actually cracked me up alot of times while reading. The cousins… oh i hope there will be so much more with the best friends and cousins.

I could literally go on and on about this book, as well as this author. If you have not read any of her books yet…Grab this one, I promise it has every little thing you ever wanted while reading.

I was left with a huge question when I finished this book, someone that was mentioned way back in the beginning. I’m so hoping that since book 2 is Enzo and Sophia that I’ll get my answer. I CAN NOT WAIT!!!

Deserves so many more than 5 stars!! I loved it!!!

I love this author so when I saw this book it was a no-brainer that I would read it. It took me about an hour to read it and usually books that quick leave me needing so much more, but not this one. Miss Mannersly managed to fit in a complete story in so little pages. Nothing rushed, totally giving me everything I needed to understand these characters and even though it all happened so quickly between Willa and Brody, it still felt like a natural progression. I would have loved an epilogue, just to see how things progressed in the future, and did Brody ever get the emotion into the one line he was working so hard on? Seriously though, that really is the only thing I felt like I was missing.

Can not wait for more from this author. I love her writing style and I always feel completely satisfied when I finish her books.

This was my first book by this author and I LOVED it. A super quick story that didn’t feel rushed or choppy. I read the last word and felt completely satisfied, except loving these characters so much I could have read on for many more pages.

The writing was awesome, had a smooth flow and I did feel transported into the story. I found myself travelling with Lys to Vegas and my heart was pounding and my anxiety was off the charts as I was right there with her.

I completely enjoyed this book, it had it all and this author did an amazing job never making it feel forced or crammed in because of the amount of pages. I love the small town and would love to revisit with more books. Will definitely be reading more from this author!

I’ve got many things going on in my life right now that are super emotional. I have trouble sometimes letting those emotions out and although I can not relate to the exact subject of this book, except for the love a mother feels for her child, I can absolutely relate to the emotions it brought to the surface. This was one of the most beautiful, heartfelt, heartbreaking stories I have ever read. The writing had such a perfect flow that before I knew it, I was done with tears pretty much all the way through.

I did not read the first book in this series but it didn’t seem like I absolutely had to to understand and fall right into this book. Now I am sorry I didn’t read the first one but will as soon as possible and have also added this author to my watch list.

This is my first book ever by this author but will absolutely not be the last! I can not wait for the next book in this series.

I loved this book as much as the first one in this series. These stories portray how real problems can be for a young teen boy. This might be a story for the young but I seriously enjoyed it and I believe it was because of the writing style of this author. She makes you want to read more after every page.

I have to admit I went back and forth as Rocky struggled with his mom’s impending marriage and the man she chose to marry. I truly had no idea how this story was going to end, and was thrilled with how it all played out. Rocky learned a great lesson about communication in this story and how important it is.

I love the friendship and family aspect of these stories, and have already recommended these for reading by a couple of my grands.

Can’t wait for more from this author.

These books will be sitting on my bookshelf, and I already can’t wait to start this series all over again!

Sunshine Baker has quickly become one of my favorite characters ever. She is everything I love. First she’s a librarian which I think would be an amazing way to spend my days, she works with her best friends which would just be an awesome added bonus, she has the quirkiest yet most loving parents, she lives in a small town which is always my preference, and she has turned into a bonafide adrenaline junkie who has decided to start solving cases in her small town. She seems to have a new admirer/fan that she needs to stay aware of, and she loves cats! I want to be this woman’s friend, her life is awesome!

I simply love this author, she always seems to reach through and touch me with her stories and her words. So far I would say you could read these as standalones but there is alot brought up that happened in the book/s before, and although you don’t absolutely need this information to appreciate the story, you would just get more satisfaction if you read them in order.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series, can’t wait to start book 4!

This is officially my favorite of the series. It had me feeling every emotion possible and I literally read this in one afternoon because I could not put it down.

I cried, I laughed, I got so angry, I had those amazing “How Sweet ” moments, and I can not wait to read this again. I love this whole series and although they can each be read as standalones, I recommend reading them all as characters from other books do show up throughout.

I love Best Friend stories, especially ones like this that are full of history and pull at your heartstrings. I’m also a sucker for an awesome twist, even if it causes me to want to throw and stomp on my kindle.

I loved this and as I’ve said before in other reviews, I will absolutely read all of these again.

HIGHLY recommend it!

I have fallen in love with this whole set of Jake’s books. I have a few grandchildren that will have this set sitting in their rooms.

The message conveyed in this book is so completely relevant especially in the world today and the conversation guide at the end was spot on for helping the adults lead the discussion after reading it with the kids. I love this and really believe these should be part of a school’s reading curriculum or at the very least part of reading time at home.

The illustrations were amazing and I believe will make storytime that much more fun and meaningful. The importance of friendship was also very strong in this story and was written in a way that young children will completely understand.

I loved this and I love that this author has gone that extra mile for our kids!

This is absolutely one of my favorite series ever. I’m loving this continuing storyline and these brothers just keep pulling me in. You really must read these in order to get the whole dynamic of what exactly is happening, and what has happened. Sam was always just mentioned in previous books, you knew he was there and played a huge part, but you don’t know what that part is until this book.

My heart strings were being pulled right from the first chapter. Both Sam and Ellie had such heartbreaking stories and yet were both so very strong. I felt every emotion in this book, and truly think it might just be my favorite of them all so far. That is hard to say because they are all completely amazing.

This part gave us a little more of the ongoing storyline, up close and personal, which was scary in itself. Each one of these books keep me on the edge of my seat and I’ve learned to quit guessing what’s going to happen next because this author has all of her own ideas that keep throwing me for a loop. I read this in one sitting because I literally could not put it down.

Lazarus is up next, and the little snippet at the end of this one has me needing that story even more.

I can’t recommend this series enough, read them in order, seriously! Then get ready because you will want to read them all over again and again.

This book takes place many years after book 1. I enjoyed this one as much as the first one, but again got a bit confused in some places. This had everything you want in this genre. The mystery aspect was spot on, and I never knew what was going to happen next. I truly need to go back and reread book 1 and then read this one again. I love the storyline and I love the writing style. I felt like I had a good grasp on the characters and this author handled the mental illness aspect beautifully in my opinion.

I don’t recommend reading this one without reading the first, although this author did a great job bringing me back into the story, I still felt like reading the first was essential for me.

I will absolutely read more from this author and truly can’t wait to reread both of these books.

I have so many mixed feelings about this book. There were many times I could not put it down, then there were as many times I sat totally confused. I read it in 3 sittings and did think about it whenever I wasn’t reading it and couldn’t wait to get back to it. I did have a problem with the main character, I never connected to her and she had me all kinds of messed up with her change in personality, her change in her moods, and the thoughts she had throughout. I guess that’s what makes this a twisted psychological thriller. It definitely met that mark for me. I never really formed any opinion about the ending and how it would all play out so it not being really jaw dropping for me at the end wasn’t very surprising.

I did enjoy reading this story, the writing was awesome and did flow smoothly, I just felt at times like I was reading things that really didn’t matter, but then at the end realized it all did.

I do highly recommend reading this story especially if you like this genre. Just know, it will all make sense at the end.

Looking forward to more from this author.

I was so happy to return to Hartwood Falls. I have fallen in love with this little town since reading the first in this series. I was looking forward to the Christmas theme and even asked for it in my last review. I think the town is what I love most about this series, that and the other characters that show up in each story. Maybe it’s that I need more of the relationships forming to connect these characters as couples. I love each one of them and their backstories and their personalities but for some reason I’m having a problem with the connections formed. It’s hard to explain. In saying that, it does not take away from enjoying these books. I think this one might be my favorite. I did laugh out loud quite a few times and loved the setting that was described in this story. I truly want to go to Hartwood Falls, and would love to be a part of this small town.
This author has a super smooth writing style which I enjoy and I’ve read each of her books in this series in one sitting. So they are absolutely hard to put down. Each one could be read as a standalone with no problem, but they are all worth reading.

Great story and definitely looking forward to the next!

WOW, this was the most intense story told over two books that I’ve read in a long time. It was suspenseful, hard to read at times, sad, fun, loving, surprising, action packed and all out awesome! I love every book in every series of the Satan’s Devils, but these last two were different in a way that had so much going on and I was fully invested in every aspect. From the clubs coming together, from never being sure about UTAH and now LOVING them, the strong family aspect which for me was strengthened in this story and absolutely not being able to put the books down. It’s still hard to call any of them my favorites because every word of every book of every series is part of one of the best MC stories ever!
This one had me closing my eyes and trying to unread some of what was happening because it was that intense. I love that this author isn’t afraid to show the intensity of what is happening in the scenes even if they are hard to read.
I can not find a way to sum up this story, I just finished it so my thoughts are everywhere and Niran and Saffie? They will forever be one of my favorite couples ever. I truly already want to go back and read these 2 books again.
I can not recommend high enough that the Satan’s Devils stories that started way way back in Turning Wheels which introduced us to the Mother Chapter be read in order. There are so many reasons for this. These last 2 books which are part of the San Diego chapter made me literally fall in love with another chapter that I had been struggling with from its own series. These characters overlap, popping up in just about every book even if only mentioned. It’s a lot, and this author somehow someway keeps it all straight and in turn helps the reader keep it all straight. It’s amazing!

I will read every one of these someday, somehow back to back all over again!

I loved this book! I think my favorite part of the whole concept of this book was that our main female character was not a perfect person that had her whole life figured out and did everything right. This main character was the complete opposite and it was refreshing in a strange kind of way.

I also fell in love with Clover Bay and have it all pictured in my mind and could just imagine visiting and staying in a B&B and enjoying life.

Adam and Jody both had struggles and tried so hard to not connect, but we all know how that works out. The way they complimented each other in their own ways made this such a fun, sweet read. Watching them get past their struggles in life with help from each other was awesome. I laughed, and I definitely got teary eyed a few times.

This was an awesome, quick, one sitting read for me, and the more I read from this author the more I want to read.

I loved it and highly recommend it!

Why have I not ever read anything by this author before this? A problem I need to fix immediately. This book was awesome!!! Perfect flow, just the right amount of back stories, just the right amount of details, just the right amount of everything. I picked this up and literally could not put it down till I finished. Which meant I carried my kindle around doing whatever adulting I needed to do while still reading. OMG I loved MaMa Sam!!! I connected with her immediately and felt her every thought, felt her every emotion, and truly felt like I was right there with her as she made decisions in this book. I want so much more of these misfits, Micah is now one of my favorite characters ever, and the best part is that it’s for so many different reasons then most of my favorite male characters.
The whole story was emotional, but at the end I was bawling, so while she couldn’t drive because of tears, I couldn’t read because of the same!

I can not wait for more!!! I loved every single thing about this book!!! I already want to read it again 🙂

Insta Love was my reaction to this book the second I started reading it. It felt so real like I was right there in whatever scene I was reading about. I loved every one of these characters but what’s amazing is I think my favorite was Sophie and I didnt even meet her in the book. Sophie was Annie’s grandmother who passed away and it was at her will reading where this story begins. Sophie played a huge part in this book and made me laugh more times than I can count. How she affected the people in this town was amazing, I just loved her!
Annie’s character was written in a way that had me connecting to her immediately. Her inner dialogue was perfect and she, like most everything else, felt so real. I want to be in her group of friends. Her bff’s were so much fun, and I even feel like I got to know them as well. Then there’s Wyatt..Sigh.. His back story was sad and funny at the same time. His relationship with Sophie had me dying even though he never even knew her LOL He carried his time in the service with him daily and had an amazing support system while trying to heal. I loved his family, his mom, dad, sister and niece and his best friend Griff were awesome!
I truly and completely loved this story, I loved the town, and really can’t wait for the next book. CC, Breckin, or Griff, I hope each one gets their own story told because I can’t wait to revisit this town!

Such a smooth flowing book that I got totally lost in. I love the writing style and will be adding this author to my “will read anything by” list.

I Highly recommend it!

I really enjoyed this story. I fell so much in love with the first book of this series and hoped there would be more to follow. I was so excited when I saw this I one clicked immediately. This one showed me the other side of the sister/family dynamic. It broke my heart and made me angry, but also made me love Jody that much more. Patience, from the first book became one of my favorite characters ever, and Jody isn’t too far behind now. I love this author and this series. I hope it continues and I hope there is more to come from Centennial. I fell in love with this little town in Courage of Us and definitely want more.

This author has a way of grabbing me at page one and doesn’t let go till the end making it impossible to put her books down till they are over. I loved the way Jody took control and also researched and ended up where she did, how she did it was awesome, and the outcome was even more amazing. This can be read as a standalone but the characters from book one are mentioned often and I would highly recommend reading them in order just to have all of the stories and they are simply amazing so why not… I can’t wait for more of Jody and Holt, Patience and Duke, and also whoever is next. It has also made me want to go back and read book 1 again, so that’s the plan.

Awesome stories in this series.

I took a chance on this story because it was a short story and I read it in about 30 minutes. It was written very well and flowed beautifully. I did though miss the character development that you would get with a longer story, as well as the building of the connection between the main characters. It was definitely steamy and a quick fun read though and I’m glad I picked it up. I have read a couple of this authors’ books and have liked both of them and will definitely read more from her in the future.

If you’re looking for something steamy, quick, and fun, with really awesome writing I highly recommend picking up this book.

This series and this author just keep getting better and better. I’ve loved all of this series and each one seems to be my favorite when I finish, but this one I think really is my favorite along with the first in this series. Well of course until the next LOL

I’ve said this many times and will repeat..I don’t normally read paranormal, I have a few authors that could write anything and I’d read it but this author has taken this genre to a new level for me. I love her writing style and the ease I feel while reading. I can’t read them fast enough and then feel kinda lost when I’m done.

This in my opinion can not and should not be read as a standalone. All of these books follow many of the same characters and their stories carry through all of the books. This is a group of “people” that have become an unlikely family that I feel like I’m a part of while reading, and I was so excited to get Bel’s story, the addition of Haddie was awesome, I feel a small connection to each one for different reasons. The ending to this story left me wanting so much more, there is an ongoing story that started in book one and I can not wait to see how this progresses. The conversation at the end has me a little worried with only two words spoken “You What?!”

Filled with danger, mystery, romance, love, edge of your seat reading, humor, and family I can not recommend this whole series high enough! One Click them all, SERIOUSLY!!

This is my first book by this author, I got into it pretty quickly and could hardly put it down. The build up throughout had me going crazy wondering how this was all going to end. The writing style was a bit different than I’m used to but caught on pretty quick and then it flowed smoothly.

My feelings towards all the characters were a roller coaster ride. I was never sure whether I liked any of them or even understood them and what they were feeling. Then on the other hand I could find I liked them and then did understand sometimes. It was in all honesty the definition of a hot mess.

I had figured out part of what was happening before the end but the other part was shocking, and totally threw my thoughts of one of the characters totally upside down. I think I wanted more from the ending. Not sure why, I can’t explain it but I felt a little let down for some reason. I guess I wanted that jaw dropping twist that just never seemed to come for me.

In saying all of that, I truly did enjoy this story and will absolutely read more from this author!

I’ve picked up this book and realized it was the third in this series. That was ok though because reading so many of this author’s books I knew I didn’t have to worry. She made this really easy for me to jump into and also made it impossible for me to not read the first two.

In normal Amy McKinley fashion I could not put this book down. I literally read it in two sittings with only about an hour break between the two. The suspense and edge of your seat reading made it impossible to put down. I loved these characters and can’t wait to get the other characters’ stories. There was just enough of everything, Romance, danger, suspense, mystery, and even a touch of humor which I loved!

I will read anything this author comes out with. She has the ability to grab me at word one and I feel like I always must finish once I start.

I hope there is more to come for this series, and if so I’ll be ready after hopefully reading the first two by then.

Love It!!

OH MY GOODNESS!! Took me 3 days after I finished this to be able to write a review that was not in all caps and I’m now somewhat able to sort my thoughts.

I’ve ended books a complete mess before but this one added with feeling so much anger and feeling like I wanted to jump into my kindle and do something…I don’t know exactly what I could’ve done but dang it I needed to do something.

This is the first part of a two part story. I truly don’t know how I’ll wait a month for the next part. This one did not just end on a cliffhanger, I’m not hanging from anything, I have literally fell off that cliff and am just falling ever so slowly while I wait!

To say this was one of the most emotional books in all of the many Satan’s Devils books is putting it mildly.

I just can’t with this author right now… I’ve mentioned many times that I don’t know how she does it and keeps doing it but she has done it again and gone above and beyond every previous book. If you have not read the Satan’s Devils WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!

This one was tough. I’m not going to lie. There were some scenes and subjects that were tough to read, tough to visualize, and tough to think about. I’m blessed that I don’t have any triggers while reading, I know many do and this could be really hard to read for some. The story though was raw, and sadly so real and was written as usual in vintage Manda Mellett fashion….Beautifully!

I’ll be here waiting not so patiently for the next… I have a love/hate relationship with this book that I absolutely must know what happens next!

Holy Hot Mess Batman! Just finished this phenomenal story! This author does this to me every time I read one of her books. I just sit and stare because I’m always trying to figure out what I just read and I’m also sad that I finished. There is something about this author’s writing style that ropes me in from word one and literally does not let go, even after I finish. She is a master storyteller and I just can’t get enough!!

This one had me so messed up. Who should she trust? I swear I was still waiting for another ball to drop right up till the last paragraph. I felt like I was in this book with Molly and my reading instincts had me all over the dang place. Towards the end I was actually wiping tears away so I could see the words. I just don’t know what to say..Not going to give anything away except to say You have to read this book, I know I will be reading it again and again in the future. It is so emotionally gripping, suspenseful, scary, sad, happy, confusing, and filled with some of the most talented writing I’ve ever read. I’m still in awe and just know that I won’t be picking up another book for a day or two. I worked too hard during this one and will need to recuperate LOL

I loved this book so so much, and already miss all of the people involved in this story! UGH!!

Although this was somewhat of a long book and took me some time to complete because life has been crazy and my reading time limited, I absolutely loved every bit of this book!! OMG I felt at times like I was reading a live movie that I was watching and could literally see all of this playing out. I could not get it off my mind when I had to put it down and rushed to pick it back up. The build up of this story was sheer perfection…I normally don’t want backgrounds and such but every word and every page was pulling me in more and more as the story progressed. My mind was going every which way through this book trying to figure out who was behind everything going on. I now know how far off base I stayed throughout LOL I have read enough books that now I suspect everyone and in this case I was on the edge of my seat realizing I was completely unaware of what was happening.

I especially loved the characters in this book. Each one with their own story, each one with their own quirks. I loved how they all came together as one and then the added in support just blew me away. I could go on forever talking about each of these people, each one important and all of them I hope to see again in the coming books. I love where this is going, and I have high hopes for this team growing even closer. I was left with questions of one character in particular and have so many ideas about how that could still play out in the future of this series. I hope there is much more to come on that character.

I am so so so excited for this series, I can not wait for the next (and I want one of those t-shirts lol) and although this is only my 2nd book by this author I will be reading anything and everything I can get my hands on.

I LOVED IT!!!
