Heartbreak Rebellion (Hero High, #4)Heartbreak Rebellion by Mina Chara
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’ve read each and every book of this series and fell in love with them from the first one! This one shows exactly why the series is not only never-ending but grasps your interest. A lot is at stake for our heroine as she must battle to choose stardom and all that it entails or continuing to fight for the righteous that her heart leads her. Great story for teens and kids alike to learn from. I’m a grown adult who found this book all like the others to captivate not only my attention but teach valuable lessons about life and overcoming obstacles. Great writing!

Book 1Denial: The main character Friday seems to follow her own drum and is finding out that strange things are happening around her. The secondary characters and the main character are interesting, and I enjoyed the interactions and their quirks.

Friday’s father finds out she has powers, so he sends her to the most famous school for powered people in the world, Hero High. Now she has to live at the Super Structure, and let cameras follow her round every day. She never knew how many expectations they had for powered people. Does she fit in? Dos she wants to be a superhero. Can she live with the cameras following her daily?

Book 2 Anger: Friday Fitzsimmons is in her second year of hero high. She is living at the superstructure its risky and invasive, especially when trying to figure out where two new real super villains come from. I can’t let the cameras see what I’m doing, because I’m pretty sure they’re in on it, and people are getting hurt.

Will Friday figure out the truth before its to late? Will she be able to trust any of her peers? Are they out to get her? Will she make it past her second year of hero high?

Book 3 Bargaining: This is Friday Fitzsimmons story and is set in the near future world of Icon City, a place filled with powered one-percenters, She finally joined the gold team, the producers even like her now, but it feels like she has abandoned everything that makes a good hero, in order to be a good hero.
Everything is going wrong for her she still doesn’t know who to trust and people aren’t what they seem. Every move she makes to uncover the truth is defeated by forces she cannot even see. But she will not give up.
Will Friday find out the truth? Will she learn who she can trust?

You will need to read this great story to find out…..

Hero High: Figure In The Flames by Mina Chara – Review by Lianne Probert

Figure in the Flames (Hero High, #1-3)Figure in the Flames by Mina Chara
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Figure In The Flames is a box set of books containing the first three stories from Mina Chara’s Hero High collection.
Friday Fitzsimmons discovers she has a superpower , they are rare but not unheard of in the futuristic world in which these books are set. All superheroes are sent to train at the elite ‘Hero High’ which is not just a school, but also a reality TV show. Friday would much rather let others take the limelight, but when she earns the title of ‘gifted’ it soon shifts to her.
As with all High Schools Friday experiences highs and lows. But, what she doesn’t expect is to become an integral part in the fight against enemies and in the battle to save the city. Friendships are tested, mysteries are solved and battles are fought.
The books in this collection are all short, fast paced reads, aimed at the YA audience. They are brilliant if you enjoy action packed drama and have the imagination to help bring it all to life.
I love the character of Friday, she really isn’t your average superhero and she has internal struggles to conquer as well as facing the bad guys too.

Hero High: Figure In The Flames by Mina Chara is a fantastic fantasy story all wrapped in one book. I loved the series and really enjoyed the adventure I got to take with Friday and her superhero journey. There is so much to love about the series, there is something to be said about a “dystopian” world where you watch super heroes on tv and then get to see the behind the scenes. I loved all the twists and turns that the story took and the wonderful character development. This is a great bundle to get through on a long weekend or if you have the time to just sit and devour it in one sitting.

Hero High: Figure in the Flames by Mina Chara – Review by Heather Bass

Figure in the Flames (Hero High, #1-3)Figure in the Flames by Mina Chara
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first series I have read from this author and now I’m hooked. I absolutely love fantasy books but this author exceeded all my expectations. This set has three books to this amazing series. The first book is called Denial, then Anger, and lastly Bargaining. Once I started this series I could not stop. You will fall in love with all of the characters. I hope there will be more books in the future.

Denial

Friday is like your normal seventeen year old. She had friends and family but when her dad finds out she has a super power he ships her to a special school. Friday is shipped to the number one hero school, Hero High. She is now in a more structured environment that she doesn’t like. Friday also has to be filmed everyday but at least she has her best friend by her side. She is surprised when she finds out what it takes to be a superhero. Friday doesn’t have the time because this man that is on fire is making trouble and Friday needs to find out why. Will Friday fit into her new school or will she be the outcast?

Anger

Friday is getting used to her new school for superheroes. She is still wondering what the guy that was on fire was all about. Friday is now being followed everyday and she now met a new super villain. She wants to know where they came from but it is very dangerous. Friday is starting to believe that production is behind some of this but why? Will Friday be able to trust anyone or are they all lying to her?

Bargaining

Friday is now part of the gold team but everything else is falling apart. She still feels like she is being watched and her friendship with Jake is breaking. Friday is now popular and even the film crew is helping her out. She doesn’t want to let Captain Fantastic down either. Friday is getting closer to figuring out who the new Dr. Dangerous is but when she finds out will it crush her dreams? Will Friday fight for what she believes in or will she have to give in?

This book was interesting from start to finish. It leads you down unexpected paths as you are seen through Friday’s lens. She’s in a reality show involving superheroes at a high-powered high school. In a fellowship where stardom is all around them as they come into their own as the champions they are.
Conquerors are all around them rescuing others around the clock. Captain Fantastic leads the famous heroes. Friday and Jake are both childhood friends who are recruited to be next in line to combat evil forces to save their world from destruction. Returning from the abyss, Doctor Dangerous and the Figure in the Flames, Captain Fantastic faces the ultimate betrayal.
Up against major forces including her childhood friends and believing in Doctor Dangerous, Friday must make a dire choice that could catapult her into stardom and rise above as the hero she is.
This beautiful world building trilogy keeps you on your toes and to a place you’d never imagined. These characters are lovable and worth the read as we go on an awesome adventure with them through every book. I’ve loved these books from the author. Fantastic reads!

Hero High. Figure In The Flames. By Mina Chara. We follow Fridays story arriving at Icon City. A place for the magically gifted, which is also broadcast to millions via a reality television series. This was a great series to read, I really enjoyed following Friday along her way, she’s a very relatable character. I would say this series is suitable the early teen/young adult, I will be letting my daughter read it next. Great storyline, brilliant characters and lots of fantasy. Well done.

The Hero High Box Set – Figure in Flames by Mina Chara is a must read for anyone who is into Superheroes. These novels feature an upcoming superhero, Friday Fitzsimmoms. It follows her first months at Hero High which was supposed to be a new beginning for Friday, but quickly it turns into a fight for the school as she and her classmates battle a new super villain. The story involves many twists and turns for Friday as she tries to not only survive high school but begins her journey as a superhero. Mina Chara has authored a really fun adventure and she is definitely someone to follow for future installments in Hero High and Friday’s adventures or perhaps something new.
