Saint Code: Lost: Book Four of the Lucky Devil Series by Megan Mackie – Review by Erica Fish

Saint Code: Lost: Book Four of the Lucky Devil SeriesSaint Code: Lost: Book Four of the Lucky Devil Series by Megan Mackie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Saint Code is the fourth book of the Lucky Devil series by Megan Mackie. Even though it is the fourth book, it can be a stand alone book, but I bet you will want to read the rest of the series after this book. Megan gains my interest within the first couple of pages and I enjoy the ride to the last pages. This book is fast moving adventure through Data Bowl, a cybernetic city. Also while reading this book, I could not help but wonder if this is the way life will become eventually with everything happening in the cybernetic cities of the digital world. St. Augustina is once again one of the main characters who has taken yet another job from Orange Lady. Should everything be normal job like the others before? Just as the title suggests there will be a “lost” but what will be lost? Will St Augustina regret taking this job from Lady Orange?

Hidden Magic by India Kells is a paranormal romance. She has created a magical world with characters that come to life. Her vivid descriptions made me lose myself within the pages of her book. He cherished her from afar until he sees that there are others that want her as well. Then the unthinkable happens and she is kidnapped. Will Brant find her? Will she be lost forever? Cult (Feisty Lawyers Book 3) by Seelie Kay – Review by Erica Fish

CultCult by Seelie Kay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cult is the third book in the Feisty Lawyers series by Seelie Kay and by far my favorite in the series. In all reality, these books are my favorite genre and story lines. Seelie Kay is one of my favorite authors. Her ability to draw me in to the story with her portrayal of the characters make me feel like I am right with them. I feel close to Agent Diana Murphy like I could take her place if need be. This story is about the President’s goddaughter. She is missing and he has called Murphy and Mark to go in and take her back to safety. This takes some twists and turns and the simple “grab and go” turns into let’s hope everyone makes it out safely. Enjoy this story and keep your eyes open to enjoy the book even more.

Vermilion Lies (The Order of the Senary Series Book 3) by L.D. Rose – Review by Erica Fish

Vermilion Lies (The Order of the Senary, #3)Vermilion Lies by L.D. Rose
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Vermilion Lies by L. D. Rose is the third book in the The Order of the Senary Series. This story is one that took me for a wild ride. From the first page to the last page, I was engrossed in the story so much that i forgot about my surroundings. This story is a dark paranormal story with Cindel and Dax as the main characters in the story. They are both vampires who found each other. Sindel from an abusive vampire who rules New York and Dax who is there to help Cindel out of the situation she is in. Dax helps Cindel become a better vampire. Will Cindel and Dax plan work? Will there be romance in the relationship? You will have to read the book to find out about Cindel and Dax.

Spouse Trap: A Madeline Dawkins Mystery (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 1) by Cynthia Hamilton – Review by Erica Fish

Spouse Trap (Madeline Dawkins, #1)Spouse Trap by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Spouse Trap by Cynthia Hamilton is my first book by this author. I found her writing technique in depth and fresh. Her characters are believable and personable. This storyline is enjoyable so much that i could not put it down once I started reading it. It is a mystery with a crime drama mixed into the plot line. Madeline is a “trophy wife” until one night when it comes crashing down. Madeline needs to start from square one and rebuilt from nothing. Will once a “trophy wife” now broken and beaten be able to rebuild her life?

After Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Book 2) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Erica Fish

After Wrath (The Deadliest Sin #2)After Wrath by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After Wrath is the second book in the The Deadliest Sin series by Gwyn McNamee If you did not read Wrath you should read that book first to get all the back information on After Wrath. Now I will take a deep breath and say that I LOVED Wrath, BUT I LOVE After Wrath a little more. Gwyn McNamee does an amazing job of linking the two stories together. There is so much raw emotion that my emotions just were all over the place. I will warn you that you may not stop reading this book until the end. This is a dark story and with Wrath being one of the seven deadly sins I expected this story would be dark. Here is my favorite quote found in the summary:
“The Dragon will rise.
Death will reign.
Because wrath is the deadliest sin.”

Jake the Growling Dog (Jake the Growling Dog Book 1) by Samantha Shannon – Review by Erica Fish

Jake the Growling DogJake the Growling Dog by Samantha Shannon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jake the Growling Dog by Samantha Shannon is a cute story with a great lesson to be learned.
I do not have little children any more or grandchildren, BUT I could not resist Jake. Jake is a misunderstood dog. He does not know that his actions were scaring everyone because he thought he was being nice. There is one who decided to help and turned him around. The illustrations with the book are so simple and amazing. At the end of the book there is some wonderful activities to do with the little one reading the book with you. It is refreshing to see a simple story with a wonderful moral.

The Mourning Islands by Douglas Wells – Review by Erica Fish

The Mourning IslandsThe Mourning Islands by Douglas Wells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Mourning Islands by Douglas Wells is my first book by this author and I am in love with this story. Douglas Wells does an amazing job of keeping on the edge of my seat and a plot that kept me guessing what was going to come next. There were a couple of times when I thought I knew what was going on it took a sharp right and quick left. It has murder, suspense, mystery and romance all rolled into one story. What does a resort, Cuban mobsters, and a veteran with PTSD all have in common? A really good book that you need to read.

Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 1)Wrath by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow, I knew Wrath is one of the seven deadly sins but Gwyn McNamee put it to a new level of deadly sin with her story Wrath. Her writing style consumed me from the beginning. Her characters and plot line kept me engaged and left me wanting more. The story is a fast read, but do not go too fast otherwise you may not see the whole picture. Can you define the line between love and hate? Will you feel what Griffen and Jade have for each other or will wrath keep them apart?

Secure Again: A Chase Group Story by R.L. Dunn – Review by Erica Fish

Secure Again: A Chase Group StorySecure Again: A Chase Group Story by R. L. Dunn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Secure Again is the second book in the series A Chase Group Story by R. L. Dunn. This author is becoming on my list of authors to read. Her characters are full of life and that I am relationship with them. I know this is true as my husband keeps asking me why I am having a conversation with Elizabeth. Elizabeth is a trauma surgeon who is asked to help keep Martin alive. There is a past relationship that is surfacing and Elizabeth is wondering what is going on with all of the inmates that are coming in. Martin needs to have Elizabeth to keep him alive but how can she when was heartbreak in their relationship. There is mystery, thriller, and romance in the plot line (which is what makes the book worth reading), I cannot wait to read the next story in the series.

Trickster’s Hunt (Three Tricksters Book 1) by Carrie Whitethorne – Review by Erica Fish

Trickster's Hunt (Three Tricksters #1)Trickster’s Hunt by Carrie Whitethorne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

There are adult themes and adult language as warned by the author.

Trickster’s Hunt by Carrie Whitethorne is an interesting story. This is my first by Carrie Whitethorne and I found it a great story. There were times that I was a bit confused but I continues to read on and I am glad I did. There is an element of Egyptian Mythology, personally I love that subject, that in interwoven into the plot. There is also three genies and if you do not know anything about genies they are real tricksters like the title of the book leads you to believe. Maia is the main character and she is nineteen but acts like she is much older. Will Maia capture your mind and heart as she does mine?

BECKONED, Part 6: Adrift in New Zealand by Aviva Vaughn – Review by Erica Fish

BECKONED, Part 6: Adrift in New ZealandBECKONED, Part 6: Adrift in New Zealand by Aviva Vaughn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Beckoned Adrift in New Zealand is the sixth part in the series by Aviva Vaughn. I recommend reading this series from the beginning because you will have more insight to the characters in the story. One thing I really liked about this author is that she made the characters into real people who you can see being friends. Her theme is second chances can happened but there is some learning from the past that needs to happen. There are journeys you will go on and some are wild roller coaster rides so keep your eyes open so that you can see what is going to happen next. This book is based in New Zealand where Soren meets up with two women from his past. What will Soren do when faced with these women? What will the women want from Soren? Will the past be duplicated or will everyone learn from the mistakes? Thank you Ms. Vaughn this is an awesome series.

Dracones Guardian (Dracones Book 6) by Sheri-Lynn Marean – Review by Erica Fish

Dracones GuardianDracones Guardian by Sheri-Lynn Marean
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dracones Guardian by Sheri-Lynn Marean is apart of the Dracones series but it can be a stand alone book. Marean can pull me as the reader fully into the story from the very beginning. One thing that I really like about Paranormal/Fantasy stories is that it can be base on any location or any type of character. This, to me is what makes the genre exciting. This particular story is about Zander an Arcangel that is on earth to keep everything even between good and evil. He found his first love and had children and his life was fulfilled. That was until his love and children perished and that almost killed him. Now he has Chloe across the street and his world is a changing again. Will Zander start a relationship with Chloe or will he keep to himself? Will there be trials for Chloe and Zander? What will the outcome be? How much would you sacrifice for love?

Edge of the Storm: Book 2 (Silent Secrets)Edge of the Storm: Book 2 by Lisette Kristensen

Edge of the Storm is the second book in the Silent Secrets series by Lisette Kristensen. Lisette Kristensen is a great storyteller. This book brings Halo to Rome to meet and train Blackbird. There is a terrorist attack and Blackbird needs to step things up when Halo is taken prisoner and leaves Blackbird, who is training to get Halo back. There are twists and turns for both Halo and Blackbird. Will Blackbird step up to the challenge or will Blackbird fail? This is one story you will want to read.

The Immigrant. An Italian in AmericaThe Immigrant. An Italian in America by Gaia B. Amman

The Immigrant: An Italian In America Gaia B Amman is a great book to get your love for the USA again. Gaia Amman is an amazing storyteller. She describes every in great detail. Fierce Emotions (Marcy Series Book 8) by Linda Burson – Review by Erica Fish

Fierce EmotionsFierce Emotions by Linda Burson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fierce Emotions is the eighth book in the Marcy Series by Linda Burson. I have read every book in this series. I recommend reading from the beginning so that you can get familiar with Marcy and all the characters. By doing that, I feel like you will have a friendship with Marcy like I do. Like with all of Marcy’s stories there is range of emotions like a roller coaster ride. Once you start reading it you will find it hard to put down. In this story Marcy is getting ready to move into their house with a new addition. With all that positive going on for Marcy she overhears something that is troubling her. Will Marcy get to the bottom of things?

Crafting Love (Wine & Furniture Series Book 1) by A.E. Gamrat – Review by Erica Fish

Crafting Love (Wine & Furniture Series Book 1)Crafting Love by A E Gamrat
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Crafting Love is the first book in the Wine & Furniture Series by A. E. Gamrat. This is first book I have read by A. E. Gamrat and I enjoyed her writing style. The book is a simple story that makes you feel like you are in the story with the characters. Even though I am not a fan of wine, but I think I could start drinking it now. The story is a story of Kelly and Kirk. Kelly is a lonely young woman who works for her friends in the wine and furniture store. She doesn’t like to be alone and she keeps busy at night. Until she met Kirk, who just happens to be a hottie handyman. Kelly has a lot going on in her life but cannot ignore feelings that are coming to the surface. Will there be a relationship formed? Will others accept the relationship or will there be people who do not want Kelly want her to be with Kirk?

Minx by Maggie Adams – Review by Erica Fish

MINXMINX by Maggie Adams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Minx is a romantic comedy by Maggie Adams. I am grateful that Ms. Adams created Miranda. She is not the picture of a fairytale but more of a hot mess. Her story is one of comedy throughout her life. It is refreshing knowing not every author writer describes the “barbie” figure for the character. I have to admit I spent a long time reading this story because i was laughing so hard I had to stop. Will Miranda find some love? Will Prince, her German Shepard, stay her Prince Charming? I hope you have as much enjoyment of this story as I did.

Evolution: Awakening (An Ash Kyndal Novel) by Hope Anika – Review by Erica Fish

Evolution: AwakeningEvolution: Awakening by Hope Anika
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Evolution: Awakening, an Ash Kyndal story by Hope Anika is a suspenseful attention keeping book. I could not put it down until I was finished. Hope Anika characters are fully developed and easy to relate to as if they were in our world. Ash inherits a PI firm from her uncles and that is were it all begins. She went from circus lifestyle to that of a PI. I am not sure hon one goes from circus crew to a PI but Hope Anika pulled it off nicely. Ash did not realize what she was getting herself into. There is some rough times ahead and Ash needs to figure it out because there is a storm coming and she needs to be on the “right side” if she hope to conquer her battle.

Death and the Crone: Book Three of the Lucky Devil Series by Megan Mackie – Review by Erica Fish

Death and the Crone: Book Three of the Lucky Devil SeriesDeath and the Crone: Book Three of the Lucky Devil Series by Megan Mackie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Death and the Crone is the third book in the Three of the Lucky Devil series by Megan Mackie. I would highly recommend reading the first two books in the series so you can meet some of the characters from the other two stories. I have to admit I did not know who Megan Mackie was before I was referred to her books, but now I love her writing. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a fresh author to start reading. This story is set in Chicago, which is where I grew up. It was fun looking at Chicago from a different point of view. Margaret is the main female character who is older and really has given up. She just does not see a positive end to her life. She has been asked by this stranger to come back to his apartment and that is where the story picks up. She learns that there is a silver lining in her cloud and not she needs to ride the wave. Will Margaret’s savior be all that he cracks up to be? Will Margaret feel like life is a journey she wants to continue?

Squall Line (The Inland Seas Series Book One) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Erica Fish

Squall Line (The Inland Seas Series Book 1)Squall Line by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was steered to this book by the title Squall Line and the cover with the War and Grace and the lighthouse in the background. Gwyn McNamee is a new author to me and she has become an author I will look for other books by her to read. I felt a connection immediately to War and Grace. I am a sea loving person and can see where a relationship can be formed. I can see War and Grace. They are attracted to one another but at what cost. You will have to read the book to find out all the details of the story. I will leave you this quote from the books description that I love:
War and Grace.
Dark and light.
Love and hate.
This storm may destroy them both…

Impact (A Twisted Hearts Love Story book 4)Impact by Autumn Sand
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Twisted Hearts Love Story number 4 is Impact by Autumn Sand. Even though this is book 4 it can be a stand alone book. I like reading Autumn Sand books because of her characters and the world around them. This book is told in Manny point of view which is a little different for me. I enjoyed reading how Manny saw what was going on in the world around him. As it states in the title it is a Love Story, Manny has seen the love of his life, Zoe but he does not want to let her know as she is in love with him as well. Manny has a past and he does not want to put Zoe in any danger. Will Manny’s past keep him alone or will Zoe become apart of his life?

Drawing Bloodlines (The Princeton Allegiant Series Book 1) by Deborah Garland – Review by Erica Fish

Drawing BloodlinesDrawing Bloodlines by Deborah Garland
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Drawing Bloodlines is a new series for Deborah Garland. This is my first book from this author and what a story to start with her. Her characters are complex and personal. Alexander is a vampire who is an strong male who happens to be a professor as well. He is a century old and still learning his role and gifts of a vampire. Elizabeth is a teacher as well, who just happens to have blood that Alexander can not resist. In this world, Alexander is to report Elizabeth’s knowledge of vampires and he decides to handle it himself. That is where I am going to leave the story so there are no spoilers. I really enjoyed this world because it is also being built throughout the book. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

That’s a Wrap (Paranormal Talent Agency Book 3) by Heather Silvio – Review by Erica Fish

That's a Wrap (Paranormal Talent Agency, #3)That’s a Wrap by Heather Silvio
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

That’s a Wrap is the third book in the Paranormal Talent Agency series by Heather Silvio. One thing I love about this series is that it is a simple fun read with some paranormal happenings going around. You never know what Heather Silvio will be using for characters. In this story the characters she is writing about is a genie and nixie. Mia who has teamed up with the Paranormal Talent Agency finds herself in a murder mystery and racing the clock to find out who the murder is before the next murder. By the way did I forget to mention that Mia is two hundred years old nixie? It is mind boggling to think of what she has seen in her life span. Will Mia be able to figure out who the murder is in time or will there be another murder in Sin City?

The Vampire Queen (Wheel of Crowns Book 3) by Brandi Elledge – Review by Erica Fish

The Vampire Queen (Wheel of Crowns Book 3)The Vampire Queen by Brandi Elledge
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Brandi Elledge does an amazing job the the Wheel of Crowns series and The Vampire Queen is by far my favorite. This story has everything to make this an awesome paranormal story: witches, werewolves, magical creatures, but the best of them all is the vampire. In this book, we read about Tandi a newly turned vampire who is just trying to fit in. There are layers to her and I love her story, especially when Stephen enters into the picture. Stephen is an ancient vampire price who has taken Tandi to assist her to become a vampire a little less confusing. That lasted until the Queen of Vampires wants Stephen for herself. Will Tandi become a great vampire with the help of Steven or will the Vampire Queen interfere?

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Demon’s Angel in the Colorado Chapter series by Manda Mellett is a awesome addition to the series of Satan’s Devils MC series. I thought Manda Mellett first series of Satan’s Devils was excellent and could not get any better, BUT I was wrong. I love the story of Demon and Violet. Demon promised that he would look over Violet when her brother died. Violet was a young woman who has feelings for Demon but he was looking after her. She left and Demon thought his protection was no longer needed. Violet returned with a baby boy in tow. Demon feels like he needs to watch over Violet and her son. There is a little problem VIolet still has feeling for Demon and Demon has feelings for VIolet. Will Demon and VIolet keep their feelings to themselves? Will Violet keep her son safe? I had to read the story to find out these answers and I encourage you to read it as well.

Winging It (Destiny Rules Series Book 1) by Lisa Gail Green – Review by Erica Fish

Winging It (Destiny Rules Series Book 1)Winging It by Lisa Gail Green
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As of late, I find myself looking for simple stories just to give the mind something to do. Winging It is one of the simple stories. Lisa Gail Green is a YA author who can grab you and keep you throughout her story. I find that the YA authors pay more attention to the small details and keep the story flowing. There is somewhat a mystery with Zach and his powers that he is trying to get used it, We follow Zach and his mom through the story so see what can happen if the fairy godmother roll really is in the people’s lives. Will Zach complete his Mother’s assignments in time or will his mother and himself be grounded? What a journey you will be on if you take the first page and run away in the story of Winging It!!!!

Secure Desire: A Chase Group Story by R.L. Dunn – Review by Erica Fish

Secure Desire: A Chase Group StorySecure Desire: A Chase Group Story by R.L Dunn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Secure Desire by R. L. Dunn is not your typical romance story. R. L. Dunn wrote characters that were believable and lovable. This story takes you on journey with Chase and Cassie. Be prepared because it is a roller coaster ride but it is worth all the emotions that comes along with the story. When you are a soldier like Chase and have some lingering feels about your tour in Afghanistan you everyday life seems so different. Chase came back to get in the security business with his brother and did not expect to run into his love interest, Cassie from 6 years ago. A lot has happened in the six year in both of their lives. Will Chase be able to have a relationship after Afghanistan? Will Cassie want a relationship with Chase? Are there secrets that either one of them does not want them to surface?

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Misfortune of Vision by Christy Nicholas is the fourth book in the Druid’s Brooch series. You do not need to read the previous books but after reading this book you will want to read the other books in the series. The one thing I loved about this series so far is that you can really see the story in your mind’s eye. I did not realize how fast i was reading because I was enjoying the story so much. This story is about Orlagh who is a Seer for the King of Ireland. The king has express to Orlagh that he does not want any prophecies of war or destruction. Orlagh went on a quest to find a worthy heir to her magical brooch. Will Orlagh find her heir?
