Eight Steps to Alpha is book 1 in the Nerdy by Nature series by Taylor Sullivan and a first for me by this author. Elliot wants to get a girl in his office to notice him so he goes to his best friend Fe for help. Fe takes on the task of changing Elliot from a nice nerdy guy into a hot alpha male. But will the plan backfire on them and spark something between Fe and Elliot?
This was hilarious sweet friends to loves book. I laugh from the beginning to the end of this book; Fe and Elliott were sweet and lovable. I can’t wait to see if there is going to be more books in this series. If you’re looking for a good romantic comedy, you need to pick up this book.

Penny for Your Thoughts is 1st book in the Sand Dollar Series for J D Boudreaux. A quaint southern romance This was a cute and totally enjoyable story with not only charming characters but with interesting secondary characters that capture your interest.
Penny is a planner. She has planned out her life and is taking the first step by getting a new job as a news reporter. She’s always been able to achieve success because of her determination but things aren’t going smoothly for her new start. Stranded on the side of the road Penny gets help from a passing motorist. But there seems to be more than meets the eye with this handsome Good Samaritan.
Alex thought he was your average good guy. So, when he spots a car stranded on the side of the road, he doesn’t hesitate to stop and assist the motorist. He’s not expecting this one act of kindness will irrevocably change his life. But isn’t that how fate works??
While I enjoyed reading this book, I was disappointed that there seemed to be items that were just left dangling. I don’t know if these will be addressed in the next book but I felt I was left with a lot of “what happened next” times during the book. The scenes Penny and Alex were priceless, I could have read more of those, for sure! This book has all some good feels, friendship, romance, and the story comes together nicely. Looking forward to having these characters pop up in future books.

I love finding new authors. I also like finding new series. This book is the second in the series and I am very excited to see what more the author has to offer. I was totally hooked from page one. As well as my total habit of reading out of order!!
I found that I was quite drawn to Jon as well as Lawan. I really found the book quite refreshing and unique. The way that the author didn’t straight away bring them together and how the added drama unfolds really kept me fixed on this book. I like how they have a common goal but Lawan really tries to fight her feelings. I found Lawan’s character to be more relatable and also I like that the book isn’t predictable. I will definitely be reading more from this author and this series in the future.

WTF God is one woman’s journey on her relationship with the Lord and her faith. I think we are all guilty of making plans for our lives and expecting them to go that exact way. Sometimes our plans don’t work out. Not just walking by faith, but in faith is an important part of life for a lot of people. One of my favorite parts of this book is when she is at her friend’s house and she can’t find the gift she brought with her. She’s searching through the car and it is the thing that sends her over the edge. She is so mad with God at everything that has or hasn’t happened. She finally lets go and screams at God. It’s part of having a relationship. Sometimes we get angry. That’s how my relationship with Him works. I love that she addresses that and says that its okay. This is just a great story of how God has plans for us and if we would just sit still and listen, we will know what to do.

I was skeptical and excited to see that this book was going to focus on Sarah. From what I’ve read of her in the first two books, she seemed like she was the most obsessed with societal rules and I wasn’t sure I liked her too much. She seemed like no fun at all but after this book, I see her in a whole new light. Sarah became a mother to her siblings when their mother passed and left them all orphans. She knows that any mistake she makes will have negative consequences for her sisters that have yet to marry and she will do nothing to risk the future of her siblings. Even if that means denying herself happiness. I really loved Sarah’s interactions with William Gordon. This showed the realest and most true parts of who she is and who she won’t show the rest of the world. William seems to be a perfect match for her and wants to do anything he can to make up for the love she never had with her late husband. But everything goes wrong in the worst possible way and I honestly think this book threw me for a loop wayyyyy more than the other two. My husband actually got irritated with me because I was ignoring him in order to finish this book.

I am a sucker for a friend’s to lover novel and this was no different i absolutely loved every second was utterly engrossed in the story. I also enjoy a single dad storyline reading the struggles of being a single parent is relatable. The chemistry between Kate and Lucas is of the chart hot like steaming hot ladies had me rather hot under the collar. It’s a beautifully written story with some drama and very steamy scenes….fantastic.

This book was so amazing! I rate it 5 stars! I loved the story between Layla and Gavin! It had me hooked right away. I never read a mafia romance, but I’m glad I did! The story just flowed so well,. It progressed very well. I love books that have you hooked from page one. These two are so different, but so much alike at the same time. I will be reading more mafia books now! It’s such a good book!

Rush was such a great book. I truly read this book in one day and I was sneaking to read more when I was supposed to be working. Finn and Aspen meet by chance one day. Aspen is your everyday working woman trying to make it in the city. Finn is a software developer crashing on a friend’s couch which happens to be Aspen’s neighbor. They instantly click and start to fall for each other. Both of them have hang ups from the past and one has some secrets that can destroy their future. I really enjoyed these characters and how their story unfolded. Looking forward to more with this author.

This is my second read by this author and it was written very very well. I love her style of writing and the flow of her stories are spot on.
I really liked the characters in this book but I had a hard time connecting with the storyline. I never felt the seriousness of what was going on and although a good Dad it just felt like the part Lucas should have been most worried about didn’t come through to me, it was more about constantly reminding himself he could not be with Kate and everything felt like it was too focussed on them than what was going on. This might have just been me and maybe if I read it again I would feel different but the inner thoughts got to be a bit too much for me in some parts.
Now in saying all of that, I still read every word and never even thought about putting it down and will absolutely read more by this author. This was simply a personal issue I had and does not reflect in any way on this author’s writing.
I do recommend reading it and I will read it again in the future.

It’s so hard to stay on the straight and narrow when every one is looking for shades of gray. Mallory has lost someone precious to her and she won’t stop looking until she finds her. I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. The author gave amazing details and plotted every chapter well. I was sad at the end because life never goes the way we hope. I wanted every one to have a HEA. The story made the saying “A wolf in sheep clothing” so true. You learn to trust people and bam they’re not who you think they are. Alex is a cool dude. He did things that went against morals but I also see it as he took one more rapist or pedophile off the streets. I justice system is so screwed. You can get 20 years for dealing drugs but only 7 years for rape. Or in some cases 5 months of probation. I don’t think people should take the law into there own handed. I believe the system needs to change. I enjoyed this story for many reasons. The character development was on point. The plot wasn’t common and it was well thought out. This has never been one of my go to genres but this story sure makes me excited for more.

Eight Steps is a deliciously intense love story by Taylor Sullivan. A story that just left me breathless and desperate for more. As far as friends to lovers romances go, this was one of the best I have read. So riveting was these words, I read it in one go. These characters were so endearing, so charismatic, it was hard to put their story down.
Elliott and Fe were best friends. Dorky Elliott was thrust into Fe’s hands to give him a new look. The almost non existent flame of arousal, passion and realisation was slow moving, the tension was so palpable, it was felt long after the book ended. So intense, every muscle in my body was pulled taut, ready to snap at any moment. If you love slow intensity love stories, then this story is one you must read. NOW. A riveting, emotional tale of exquisite discovery and soul deep feelings of love. 5 stars.

This is the second book of The Order of the Senary series. This is Jon’s and Lawan’s story. Both of these characters are dealing with major traumas. Jon died and turned into a vampire. Lawan has so much trauma that it led her to alcohol to deal with the pain. However, they find each other and love blossoms. I loved reading about these characters and how they found each other. I absolutely loved Lawan and how she grew and changed as a character. I really likes reading updates from previously loved characters! L.D Rose did a great job with this book!!

An Improper Encounter is the third book in The Macalisters Series by Erica Taylor. This is an historical/regency romance with some drama, angst, mystery, and suspense. You don’t need to have read the other two books before reading this one, but they would provide wonderful backstories, and give character information that would give you an enhanced reading experience. Even though each book in this series focuses on one particular Macalister, the others all make appearances and we get snippets of what’s happening in their lives too. I am enjoying getting to know the Macalisters and following them on their stories. This book is Sarah Macalisters story, she became the mother figure to her siblings when their own mother died, and she ‘raised’ them to be a loving and tight-knit group. She then went on to get married, but her husband soon died, leaving her a very wealthy widow. She meets Dr. William Gordon on her travels, and on a dare engages in a scandalous affair. What was just meant to alleviate her boredom, and add a little spark into her life, becomes far more complicated than either could have imagined. Their three day affair awakens feelings that neither really expected- and they begin to make plans together. But Ms. Taylor didn’t make it easy for them, adding a twist or two to make things interesting. Will they find their happiness together? Or will there be too many obstacles in their way? I recommend this story (and series) to anyone who likes historical/regency romance.

Yes! This romantic thriller will have you holding your breath in anticipation. Filled with suspense, I loved watching these characters walk through. The characters are believable, relatable, flawed, and complex. The author does a fantastic job carefully crafting the tale to keep the reader engaged from beginning to end. Just a fantastic book.

The Platonically Complicated Series is a fun one. I like that each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone and that there are storylines and characters that cross over.
RULES OF ENGAGEMENT checks the boxes of many different genres, all that I like to read. It’s like a dream come true. Told from the male point of view, both main characters break the fourth wall… Him by speaking directly to the reader and her through her blog.
This was a quick and easy read that I read in on sitting. It is filled with humor and romance, great friendships and a best friend’s sister. The story line is complete and the story flows well from beginning to end.
I recommend this story, this series and this author.

Not So Broken was such a great book and shows that their most definitely can be love after tremendous heartbreak! Gibson is actually a billionaire known as John G Colebank III of heir to the Colebank fortune. He is currently hiding out in Tilly, Georgia working as a handyman. No one knows who he really is. He has endured the worst kind of heartbreak and cannot go back to his normal life. Sasha is visiting Tilly trying to gain clients. While she is visiting the town her eyes land on a gorgeous looking man she names mountain man. Sasha has also been through a lot. After trying to get pregnant for years which was unsuccessful, her husband tells her one day he’s leaving and his girlfriend is pregnant. Sasha is the top salesperson in her company and is working towards adopting a child of her own.
The night Gib and Sasha meet each other in a bar, they talk and dance the night away while having many drinks. After a hot one night stand, things seem to turn south the next morning. While Gib and Sasha can’t get the other out of their heads, things happen and it causes them to see each other again. I really fell in love with Gibs character. He really is such a nice guy and I was rooting for him the entire book. I do t want to give to much away but, this is a great read! One you won’t want to miss out on.
Penny For Your Thoughts: A Sweet Romance by J.D. Boudreaux is the first book in the Sand Dollar Series. Penny is having the day that will not end. Alex is a good guy who comes to her aide in her time of need. Can one act of kindness actually change the course of someone’s life? This is a sweet story that had me rooting for Penny and Alex. The two are realistic because they are not perfect and have their imperfections. Overall, I enjoyed this read but felt at times that the story dragged. I seemed to get overwhelmed by some of the dialogue. I liked the story and the characters and look forward to reading more from this series. I am hoping that the sweet characters continue into the next book.

I enjoyed this cute, romantic quick read. Aspen has just moved to San Francisco to be closer to her brother, I found her to be a lot of fun and relatable. Finn who seems like the perfect guy, he’s so sweet and always there when Aspen needs him. As I was reading I kept waiting for the ball to drop because I knew something was coming I just didn’t know what. The author did an excellent job pulling me into this story and her detailed descriptions made me feel like I was there. I also enjoyed the secondary characters they made the story that much better. Overall I think this was a great read and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

I wasn’t sure about Deepest Midnight when I started reading it but it has really grown on me. It is far better than certain other contemporary vampire romances and I liked the looks back into Millicent’s past. It added more to the story in a great way as opposed to leaving huge questions for possible later books. Even though this book probably wasn’t supposed to be as funny as I found it, one of my favorite bits near the beginning is when Millicent thinks “Oh I can’t just tell this guy I’m a vampire and can’t go out in the day time” when she absolutely could have. The time period being now, the fact that she wears all black, and her being crazy rich would have been PERFECT for her to just play it like she’s really eccentric or really into the goth lifestyle. She also could have played it like a deadpan joke. I definitely died laughing if she had. Alexandre is incredibly intriguing and I constantly wanted to know more about his backstory and was rooting for Millicent to give him a piece of her mind for treating her like property at times. Really looking forward to the next book

Rush (The Boys of RDA #1) by Megan Matthews was an okay read that was a little bit of a slow burn.
This quirky dream guy fantasy like read has all the things I look for when reading rom-comms. But, I will say that, this book did fall a little short on the flow, pacing and overall excitement.
I loved Finn, he was pure male fan-service. He did have some moments I wasn’t fond off, but that just made him all the more real and enjoyable. A billionaire nerd, my dream come true. He really stole the show for me, and was my fav character in the whole book. As for Aspen, for a girl with an MBA, at times I wonder how she got through grad school. And the way she made fun of Finn’s job, that didn’t sit well with me at all. Shallow thinking and just plain old mean. I also didn’t like how she didn’t connected the dots about Finn, it was right there, and I caught on in seconds. Just to put this in perspective, it was her narrative that I connected the dots through, as in, through her eyes, her voice. I just feel like Aspen as dumped down, and there was no need for it; I think she was a missed opportunity. The overall story was a little slow for my liking, and there was a lot of lulls between “action”. The book wasn’t that much of a rush, but I did still very much like the overall concept and plot.
Overall this story had all the makings of a laugh out loud rom-comm, but just missed the mark. I did however enjoyed the overall story, there’s some pretty solid moments, and like I said, Finn is an amazing character and I loved reading about him. Aspen’s best friend is also a very solid character and really brought out a good side to Aspen that would have been otherwise missed, and actually made me like her.
So though I have mixed feelings about this book, there are some good things going on, and Finn’s and Aspen growing relationship was believable and at times fun. So please take my recommendation and my stamp of approval that even though I wasn’t fully on board, reading is subjective and you might fall head over heels for this feisty read.

This was not what I expected, as I went into this book blind. I felt so many emotions in this book, I was right with Lottie through them all. I really liked Lottie and the strength she had as she grew up. She took what negative things happened to her and grew from them, even if they tried to hold her back. I really loved her wish she had at Christmas and how it was thought out throughout the story. And i hope to see more of these characters in more stories!

Feathers by Kylie Stewart is a story that you will find yourself thinking about after you finish it. It is so well written that while reading you felt like you were there, living it with Charlotte “Little Lottie” and Hawk, and because you were living it with them then you keep feeling it in your bones … Kylie has given us two old souls that both carry such burden that at times you were wondering how they were able to function as ‘normal’ as they did … you could clearly see why they were drawn to each other and how Charlotte was able to trust a man – Hawk. You feel for them and you hope that together they would learn how to be free and how to find happiness, even if it takes years! Feathers is an emotional rollercoaster that moves slowly so you are forced to feel deep. I noticed that that there will be Wings novella so I am looking forward to where the journey will take our Charlotte and Hawk!

Seraphina’s Awakening (Seraphina #1) by Sheena Hutchinson was an okay read that was both original and unique.
My first read from this author, and I’m going to be keeping an eye out. This is the first book in the Seraphina series, and so far it’s looking like a good series to get behind. But, I do have some things that took me out of this story and made it hard to get back in.
First things first, this book is adult but reads like a YA. The MC was all over the place, and I never did catch her age. Frankly the mentality matched adult sometimes, but then other times I felt like I was reading about an unbalanced teen. That was the main reason why I kept getting pulled out of the story. The other reason was, I felt like the main plot wasn’t as clear as it should have been, and I kept feeling like I missed something. Plus there’s a love triangle, and if you follow my reviews at all, you know I’m not a big fan.
Other then that, I did enjoy the story. I do feel like for a set up book, it was trying to do too much, and got a little lost along the way. I do like this stories original concept, and after about the 60% mark things started to pick up. The story got a little unpredictable, and that actually worked in this reads favour. I got fully absorbed, and was finally seeing the big picture.
Overall this book, as I said, is a fresh unique read. I think it just needs a little more love and care, so that first half of the book matches the last. But as I said the story itself is enjoyable, and I will be checking out the rest of this series. So please take my recommendation and my stamp of approval that you will get caught up in this tale of good vs evil.
Bound picks up right where Shattered stopped. Via Mari does an amazing job that keeps you engaged with the story that makes you want to read more and more. I highly recommend plan on finishing the book. Like any journey there are bumps, twists, and turns, this story is no different. With any relationships there are a few foundations that you lay down because if one of the blocks are broken so is the relationship. I do not want to give too much away but this story will keep you on your toes and see what everyone is up too with the story.

Penny For Your Thoughts is a simple sweet romance. J. D. Bourdreaux is a mastermind at writing characters that are complex but, in the same fashion able to relate to them. I felt such a connection with Penny. I could see me being with her on this journey of a relationship with Alex. Alex is one who likes to help people in need and that is what Penny was a lady in need. Who would have thought that a simple random act of kindness would bring two people close together to form a bond that will test the age of time?

Luke is the first instalment of the Dark Water Security series. A contemporary romance that deals with some dark and disturbing issues, it had me hooked from the very first chapter. While it’s a lot darker than I normally go for, I absolutely loved this story and the characters we meet. Luke and Emily have a connection so strong that it’s believable, despite this being a short and intense read. If you like your romances with added danger, this is a must read for you.
The book opens in a dark place, with Luke held prisoner at the hands of a violent and unrelenting monster. Forced to fit for his life, Luke has all but given up hope of ever escaping. So when his rebellion causes an innocent, fifteen-year old girl to join him in captivity, he puts every last ounce of strength in finding a way to free them both. Ten years later and Luke has made a life himself. A distinguished army service and now running a private security firm, the last thing he needs is to be thrown into the past. Seeing him work with Emily again is so addictive. I was hooked on reading their scenes together and seeing the chemistry fly. Emily is a very different person to the one he remembers, and seeing her so strong was empowering after everything she has been through.
If fear and danger is what you’re looking for, this book ticks all of the boxes. It starts and ends with Emily in hot water, so be prepared for a rollercoaster read. The story deals with some difficult themes, so expect some hard to read moments, especially at the start of the book. The author writes these really well, being respectful but realistic at the same time. Like I said, this is darker than I normally read but I absolutely loved it and will definitely be recommending it to others.

This is the first book I have read from this author and she blew me away. I love a good contemporary romance but this author exceeded all my expectations. This is the first book to The Boys of RDA series and it was the perfect start. I was hooked on this book right from the first chapter. You can’t but to fall in love with these characters. It only took me a few hours to devour this amazing story.
Aspen Adams just finished grad school and now she is ready for her new life. She moves to San Francisco into a very nice apartment her brother’s wife found for her. Aspen has certain rules she can not break or she might be living with her brother. She has a her five year plan in place and she is going to focus on her career. Aspen is sticking to her plan until she meets her hot neighbor Finn. She is instantly attracted to him but she doesn’t understand why. Finn is funny, charming, and hot. All the things she is looking for but it is too good to be true? Will Aspen find what she is looking for in this new city or will she run back home?
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has is all romance, mystery, and some good drama. You will fall in love with these characters right from the beginning. Aspen is a beautiful woman and knows what she wants. She is focused on her job and she doesn’t want any drama. Finn is very handsome with a good heart. The way he treats Aspen will make your heart melt. These characters have some steamy scenes that will make your temperature rise. This talented author will keep you on your toes until the end. I can’t wait to meet the rest of these men.

Crime Lord’s Captive (crime Lord series, book 1) by Mia Knight. Is an epic 5 star read. Full of intensive, suspenseful and some romantic moments that definitely keep you on the each of the seat with each page you turn.
Lyla has been lost for over three years before she is thrown back into a life and world she doesn’t want any part of. The crime underworld is a world full of monsters that want nothing more than to take down the current crime Lord and will do almost anything to make it happen.
Mia has written the relationships in this novel perfectly, there friendships and loyalty to each other is outstanding and the growth throughout is great to watch.

Black Bullet is Book 2 in this incredible paranormal fantasy romance series, The Order of the Senary. I thought Book 1 Releasing the Demons was amazing, but this book was something else! I cannot believe how incredible this read was. I wasn’t disappointed with how captivating and compelling this read was. This L.D. Rose has created an incredible imaginative read, full of plot twists, incredibly lovable characters and a read that will last with me for quite some time. I was mentally visualising this whole read the entire time – I had withdrawals every time I had to put this book down.
This read was dark, thrilling, suspenseful, action packed and I loved every single page within this book. This read had you on the edge of seat with fear, anticipation. This was another brilliant take on the vampire fantasy world, that this author has created
I cannot wait to see what else it brought to this series, or even how far L.D. Rose can take this series, Who’s story we will follow next? Will this be the last we read of the characters. I cannot get enough of this series, I will eagerly awaiting more to come!
