5 out of 5 stars

The story Wild Bastard: A Dark Sparrow Novel by India Kells is a romantic suspense book. It is a story that at times had me turning pages to find out what was going to happen next. It grabs you from the beginning and doesn’t let go until you have read the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Isabel Osborne and Kai Jones. Isabel is a strong, intelligent, independent, beautiful, and stubborn woman. Kai is resourceful and who with his brothers have the objective of bringing down their father. Read this book for their amazing story. The book has scenes that are suspenseful and that had me on the edge of my seat. It also had my emotions going up and down. I grew to care about Kai and Isabel when reading this story and wanted them to find happiness. I also enjoyed reading about the additional characters that are included in the book. Some of them are familiar as I had read about them in the previous story. I enjoyed reading the bantering and interactions between the characters. Don’t miss out on the next exciting book in a wonderful series. Highly recommended reading.

This is the third book in this series, it can be read as a standalone. You won’t regret picking up the previous two books as well. This is a well written story that the suspense left me sitting on the edge of my seat and turning pages until the end. Isabel and Kai have a history and after 15 years fate has them come face to face again. Will Kai be able to let go of the past so they can have a second chance? A story of finding love and trust, I highly recommend this book.

This is the third installment to the series and once again it had me gripping on to my kindle eager to read it all in one sitting just couldn’t put it down. There is so much going on betrayal, revenge and just pure evil but there’s also lightness to the story with romance, trust and finding love. I loved this novel so much i like how it isn’t all rainbows and sunshine that there is rawness to the storyline and it just show life isn’t simple and there are obstacles but you can overcome them. Also I’m a sucker for a second chance romance i love that even though so much time had passed and so much has happened there is still sometimes a way to pull through and get your happy ending.

A Dark Sparrow Novel
My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Such a great book! The story was filled with steamy romance, drama and action making for an excellent read.

I just love Zoe. She is such a strong, independent, beautiful woman yet she is fragile and slightly self conscious. I am super impressed with her skills as a translator and kind of jealous she has such a great thing going for her with that. The chemistry between her and her new boss Archer is off the charts and I love them together. My heart breaks for Zoe, as sometimes she feels like she is not good enough for a man like him and then other times I want to scream at them both to just communicate better!

The drama that unfolds with Archer’s new business buy out and Zoe’s brother is super exciting and along with all the action, fighting and plotting, really gave the book that extra edge. The secondary characters are very loveable and just as interesting to get to know. I would highly recommend this book and I personally can not wait to read Kai and Izzy’s story.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cold Bastard by India Kells is the second book in the Dark Sparrow series. I was really looking forward to reading this after reading the first book and I was not disappointed. The story is about Zoe Somersby and Archer Blackwood. Zoe had been brought in to work for Archer as an undercover agent.
The characters are well written and allowed the story to flow. There was lots of suspense and mystery as well as a little romance. I really like this is a well thought out story and the characters are interesting people. Everyone is not always what one would assume. I look forward to reading the next book in the series to see where the story goes next.

The Inheritance: The Story of an Unlikely Submissive by India Kells – Review by Sarah Oakes

The InheritanceThe Inheritance by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A great read about passion. Lani Mackay is a struggling artist trying to make her way in the world to her own exhibition. When her uncle dies and she is surprisingly named in the will, it is too good an opportunity to pass up. But it comes with a strange request. To gain her inheritance, she must complete a series of tasks contained in a mysterious box. Can she complete them all and get the money she needs to fund her dream?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Lani going for her dream no matter what or Max supportive and kind but another side to him. Lani’s struggles as an artist were emotive and relatable and her passion for art and the itch to paint was a lovely touch and was beautifully written.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the secluded nature of Max’s house deep in the forest with its wooden cabin feel and hearth fire place as homely as if it’s a world away from the stresses of life. Or Lani’s art painted in vivid colours with passion and beauty. Or the little village in the snow, magical and wonderfully hidden in the forest. Or the opposites of the red fires and the blue ice so intense it was as if you were actually there and contrasting beautifully. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

I had no idea what to expect from this book but I liked it. The Inheritance: The Story of an Unlikely Submissive is written by India Kells. This story follows Lani Mackay. She loses the only relative she has left, her uncle. Her uncle Emile Mackay was a bastard and wouldn’t help her financially even though he had plenty to spare because she decided to pursue her passion instead of get a regular 9 to 5 job. However, he did put her in his will and advised that she must complete some tasks before she is allowed her inheritance. These tasks must be approved by an old associate named Max Langdon. She was able to convince Max to take this on but she didn’t know what to expect. Turns out Max is a Dominant. Even though Max is quite a bit older than her she learns to submit to him. This book is really quick but super hot! I loved this book and could not put it down! Lani is feisty and strong willed. Max is closed off and stubborn. These two together have an amazing connection. I can’t wait to read more from this author!

I like stories that pack a lot in them but are short and sweet. The author gave us a taste of the good and the bad. Almost like she was pulling you in and tempting your darkest thoughts. I really liked how Lani challenged Max and didn’t just give in. This story was like come take a look and imagine this is you and think of what you would truly do in this moment. We never know the answer until you’re really faced with that moment. I definitely found myself wanting there to be more chapters. I really enjoy the flow and characters in this story.

5-stars

The Inheritance is a standalone novel that is full of steamy romance. Lani is offered a chunk of her uncle’s wealth in his will if she will complete certain tasks. She is to ask his former business associate, Max, to help her. The two form an unlikely bond that leads them to discover not only things about each other but themselves as well. These two main characters change and develop greatly in a short period of time. The author did an amazing job in their creation and also on the setting for the story. I found it easy to imagine. This was an excellent quick read.

Wow! This is definitely not a story I can relate to! If a person in the real world went to a stranger’s house and did the things that Lani did with Max there would be charges against both of them, an arrest made, feelings hurt and possible an even a death or two. SO glad India Kells can write a story that takes us away from the real world!

I love this story and I am only at Chapter 6. Fast forward to the end of the story and guess what?! The rest of the story was just as amazing!

Lani and Max are strong characters. The story line is original. The entire story so entertaining. Can not wait to read more from India Kells.

Recommended for readers over the age of 18 since there are risqué situations.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Inheritance by India Kells was the first book I’ve read by this author and I loved it.
Lani Mackay is a struggling artist who is living dollar to dollar and is currently two months behind on her rent. She gets a phone call from her uncles attorney stating that her uncle has passed away and he needs her to come in to his office to discuss some things. Lani was never close with her uncle. He leaves a box for Lani that is filled with tasks she must complete. Whe. The tasks are completed, she will be given ten million dollars. Lani thinks about just saying no way and walking out but that’s a lot of money. The only catch is she cannot open the box. She must bring the box to Mr. Max Langdon who will open the box and once all the tasks are completed he will sign off on it.

Max doesn’t want to help Lani at first but then agrees to it. The rest is history. Will Max be able to play the role and walk away? Will Max get his heart broken? Will Lani get her heart broken? Will Lani even be able to complete all the tasks?
This was a super quick read but it was so good. I was hooked from page one.

The Inheritance by India Kells, was a quick read that I breezed right through. With the book only being 92 pages I was concerned about character development but was extremely pleased. You were able to get to know plenty about Lani and Max and regardless of how they were initially brought together you fell in love with them. The writing style was fast paced without a bunch of fluff and it was pure story. I was left wanting more and hope that the author considers a whole series of these two characters. This was my first book by this author and I can’t wait to delve into all her stories.

This book may be on the shorter side but it is packed with so much. The story line is great, not something I have read before and the romance was beautiful.

Lani and Max are a beautiful couple. He does have some issues he needs to work through but I think both of them were just what each other needed to take that next step in each of their lives. I find it weird that Lani’s uncle would be the one to have them play out these tasks, but thankful I got to see where it lead each character. The ending had my heart hurting, I was fearful of what would become of this couple and all of their chemistry.

This book is perfect for a quick but eventful and powerful read. I loved this story and can’t wait to check out more by this great author!

The Inheritance by India Kells. This is a unique spin on the Dom/sub relationship. Lani is a strong willed woman who makes the choice to complete takes left by her late uncle in order to obtain a sum of money from his will. Easy right? She figured it would be until Max became the one person she needed in order to succeed, there only one problem, he’s not sure he can do what is asked. The story is strong and erotic and keeps you hooked because you want to know how the story end and who will win between the battle of Wills.

The Inheritance is a short and spicy read with way more emotion than I thought. Usually I read one of these books to completely escape into another world so I was surprised by myself that I was tearing up and the ending. This may be a short story but is packed full of everything you would want in a book. The characters are fully realized in this book, it’s not just about the sexiness, there is a magical story that unfolds too. There are some books in this genre that give it a bad name, but thankfully this is not one of them.

This tests this idea in the challenges she must face.
Though this is a short book it is powerful and full bodied. There is so much that happens and I did not feel shorted in the story or descriptions. The characters are great also. I am glad I picked this book up and enjoyed the quick read.

I have to admit that I was drawn into this book and just couldn’t put it down. I really like how the author was able to build the story and I found the characters to be very realistic. The book really tied well with the first book of hers I read. I really like to see the changes in the secondary lead character Max Langdon.

I really was drawn to the chemistry between Lani and Max. I was eager to see how things would progress given his dominance. I also found myself routing for Lani and her art. I really felt myself going through the emotions with Lani as she knew Max had to find his own way. I just couldn’t put the book down and the pages just melted one into the other. There are conditions of the will and she has to go see her uncles friend Sam to complete some tasks. The chemistry between Sam and Lani is off the charts. I loved these two. The Inheritance: The Story Of An Unlikely Submissive is a fantastic, gripping novella by India Kells. Having read several book by this author in the last year, they are fast becoming a favourite of mine.
This novella may be only 92 pages in length, but there is so much content packed into those 92 pages.
When Lani Mackay’s uncle dies, he leaves a strange legacy for her. He leaves a box filled with instructions for her that only one man can open and also decide if she has fulfilled the instructions properly in order to received her £10 million inheritance.
That man is Max Langdon. Ex dom. This is a gripping story of how Lani convinces Max to open the box and help her carry out the instructions. Little does she know that these instructions will lead her into the world of BDSM with Max.
This story was gripping from the very first page and had me totally gripped until the very end. It was extremely hot and steamy. You may need to have a fan hand when reading the sex scenes. The story is also very emotional in places as Lani strives to break down the barriers that Max has put up around himself.
I thoroughly recommend this book.

Inheritance is a novel by India Kells. This is my second novel by this author.

On the verge of getting kick out of her apartment and her business failing, Lani Mackay sees an opportunity to change her circumstances when her uncle passes away and leaves her a set of instructions to follow in order to get the inheritance he has left for her.

Because of her relationship with her Uncle, who didn’t believe in her career as an artist, she is reluctant to take anything. But money could change a lot for her. All she has to do is complete the tasks that are in a box.

Her first unofficial task is to contact a man named Max and convince him to help her. But who is this man? A chance meeting could change two souls who are finding their way.

I really enjoyed this novel. I loved Lani’s independence and her blue hair. I enjoyed learning more about Max and the mystery surrounding him.

This is a quick read but very well written. I wouldn’t mind getting more of their story.
