Titanian's Phoenix: Titanian ChroniclesTitanian’s Phoenix: Titanian Chronicles by Victoria Saccenti
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was one of those books that drew me in with the cover. I just knew I needed to read it and find out what adventure awaited the moment I set my eyes on it. I wasn’t disappointed either and this book really drew me into a magical world full of all the mystery and intrigue one could want. I loved how I felt as if I was right there with Maya as she discovered who and what she is when she is thrust into a world she never knew she would be a part of. I am excited that this will have more books to follow in the Titanian Chronicles. I will for sure be back for more of the magic and adventure. I just know they will all be worth a read after this one.

This series is so good. This book follows Oren, a demon hunter, and Teivel, a demon. If you can, read the first two books! It gives you information about some of the characters throughout the book! If you love twists, danger, laughing so hard you cry, a baby dragon, and romance. Then this is most definitely the book for you!

Love at First Haunt (Haunted Ever After Book 1) by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Kerry Baker

Love at First Haunt: A Ghostly Paranormal RomanceLove at First Haunt: A Ghostly Paranormal Romance by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love At First Haunt: A Ghostly Paranormal Romance by Carrie Pulkinen is the first book in the Haunted Ever After series. This is yet another amazing book by an author who has become one of my absolute favourites. I don’t even bother to read the blurb of her books any more, if I see her name in the cover I get it immediately!!
I loved Logan and Allison. They worked so well together and I could feel their connection. I also loved the fact that Allison was afraid of ghosts – it put such a unique twist on that type of story.
The book is well written and highly entertaining. As with all of this authors books I found myself laughing throughout and thoroughly enjoying every moment of it. Every needs to read this book today and I cannot wait to get my hands on book 2!

Capturing Fate (Fatal Truth, #2)Capturing Fate by Abbie Roads
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Capturing Fate by Abbie Roads is a fast paced and exiting paranormal story that really will suck you straight in. This book really is an adventure from start to finish. I was hooked on what was happening and knew that I had to find out how it would all end. The author really keeps you on your toes throughout the book which for me just made it even better.
The characters were brilliant too. They backed up the strong story line with a great depth and intrigue about them both. You easily connect with them and really jump on board with their journey. This is such a well written and captivating book I would highly recommend it to everyone.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Stone of Destiny is the first book in the Juniper Samoni Trilogy. This book is very original and is very well written. It is a wonderful start in a series. Most certainly an action packed paranormal novel with loads of adventure. You get pulled in the beginning and can’t read it fast enough to find out what happens next. Juniper Simons is a brave witch warrior who is tasked with a dangerous mission that leads to a new found love and unfortunate loss. The characters are wonderful and very engaging. Definitely an edge of seat type book. So, excited to read the next book in the series.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my first book by Byrd Nash. I loved this story. It was very well thought out and so sweet. I buried my nose in it and finished in no time. This will not be the last time I read something from this author. In this retelling of Cinderella our main female character is Miss Melinda Wychwood and she has some fairy lineage to her. Our “prince charming” is a childhood friend of Miss Wychwood who falls in love with her all over again. Such a great book!

Bound by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops Series Book 2) by Amy McKinley – Review by Meg Tyrrell

Bound by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops, #2)Bound by Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was awesome. I love this series. I cannot wait until the next one. I will honestly read anything Amy Mckinley writes. This book was Jaxon and Kayla’s story. How their romance started… ended… and why. It was a heartbreaking story but written so beautifully. Jaxon is the oldest of the Hale brothers. He is a former navy seal and currently helping the police captain by covering while he recovers from surgery. Kayla has found herself in an abusive relationship and needs to get clear of that situation ASAP. It was perfectly written.

Amy Mckinley is starting to become one of my top authors, i have enjoyed so many of her books lately. And this was no different. It is the second book in the deadly ops series but can be read as a stand alone but there is mention of characters from the first book as they are all linked, so i do recommend starting with book 1 first. This is a second chance romance Kayla and Jaxon have history when they are kids but move on, Kayla has no one else to turn after her brother Kieran dies and she needs to get away from her abusive boyfriend, she goes to the one person she feels safe with her brothers best friend Jaxon. This is not what Jaxon expected to ever happen, but the pull between them is too strong. Can he save her?

Bound by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops Series Book 2) by Amy McKinley – Review by Naomi McDonald

Bound by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops, #2)Bound by Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bound by Secrets is the second book in the Deadly Isles Special Ops series. The story line between the main characters regarding the romance is wrapped up, but there is a piece of story line that is left open that has been continued from the first book.
I enjoyed the premise of the story and learning more about Jax and what happened that caused Kayla to have such ill feelings toward him, as mentioned briefly in the first book. While I found the overall story a good read, I did feel that there were some parts that were repetitive. That being said, the twist near the end was good.
If you have a sensitivity toward domestic violence, there is one particular scene that may trigger you.
Looking forward to the next book.

I really loved this book! From the beginning to the end I was really engaged in what I was reading. I loved the previous books in the series also and this one definitely lived up to those! I really like the authors relaxed writing style; the stories flow really well and make them so easy and effortless to read. I find myself completely lost in what I’m reading and they are difficult to put down.
I loved the characters Em and Joel! Their story was great to read about. There were definitely some very funny moments between the characters – I love a good laugh out loud book and this one certainly ticked that box!
If you’re looking for a light heart funny romance read then I would highly recommend Daddy’s Girl!

I enjoyed this romance story. This is an author I never hesitate to pick up her books. They are well written, engaging and fast paced. This one is no different. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the beginning. The author’s attention to details made the story feel realistic. This is a story that has characters that bring their story to life. Gabi and Mason have great chemistry and made the story fun to read. I enjoyed watching the growth with them throughout the story. When they are forced to work with each other the sparks that fly between them you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend reading this book and finding out what happens with them.

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites. I enjoyed being pulled into this paranormal romance story from the first chapter. This is a well rounded story that is fast paced, engaging and connectable. The characters not only bring the story to life but also took me on a magical adventure. This is Ethan and Serena’s story. They team up to eliminate a threat but what they didn’t expect was to find more. They are great together and they have such great chemistry.. I truly enjoyed them and what they brought to the story. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Stormy’s Thunder (Satan’s Devils MC Utah #2) by Manda Mellett – Review by Kerry Carr

Stormy's Thunder (Satan's Devils MC Utah #2)Stormy’s Thunder by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 2nd book in the Utah chapter of the Satan Devil’s MC. I’ve read several of these books and I have loved everyone of them. They are always full of action, danger and romance and the bond between the brothers is so strong.

In this book we get to see Stormy’s story. After he appeared in a previous book his character is not a very likeable one and I went into this book wanting to hate him.

However going through his life you realise what happened to make him become the man he is today.

After Stormy disappears from the club he returns with a bang. He literally crashes into the club. After being taken to hospital in  coma the rest of the club members try to figure out what happened. Where did Stormy go? Who would want to beat him almost to death? Is it something from his past? Or something to do with the club? There are so many questions and no answers.

Add to this story a love interest for Stormy in the shape of Cat who is a strong, independent woman. Can they work together and build each others trust? Can Stormy keep her safe and in doing so keep himself alive?

I enjoyed this romance story. This is a well developed story that has characters that are unique and creative. I had no problems connecting with them as they brought the story to life. The story is fast paced and engaging. This is a story about Joel and Em. Joel is so focused on his business that he just doesn’t do relationships. But when one of his biggest client asks him to meet his daughter, he never expects to find Em. She is determined to finish school and start her business. What will fate have in store for these two? First impressions are important but will Joel convince Em there is more to his feelings than what she thinks? They made great characters that I just enjoyed. I highly recommend this book.

Bound by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops, #2)Bound by Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bound by Secrets is book two in the Deadly Isles Special Ops series by Amy McKinley. This author has mastered the military romance, and stamped her unique writing style all over, making the barre being set incredibly high for other authors of this genre. The characters are always intriguing, mesmirising, strong, courageous and charismatic. And that is just the leading men!! The women are brave, compassionate, understanding, resilient and unbreakable. Brave men need these powerhouse women, and Amy McKinley provides a plethora of action and adventure and enough passion to ignite the pages. Bound by Secrets was a memorable mix of attraction, angst, aggression and apprehension. Kayla and Jaxon share a past and he wants a future. Kayla is running scared and Jaxon has his work cut out trying to prove they are meant to be. Jaxon is what every man wants to be and Kayla is an inspiration and someone to look up to. Neither are perfect, but they are perfect to escape with. A classic story of love that is both edgy and addictive. 4 stars.

Cursed Sight is the second book in the Broderick Coven Series by A.J. Renee. I have read a few of Ms. Renee’s books now, but this is definitely my favourite so far.
Ethan Broderick’s world got a little more intense since he learned of his abilities. But not knowing where to begin in fully understanding them has him seeking out the local coven for any assistance they may be able to provide.
Serena Bishop is a witch and the high priestess of her coven, and just so happens that the coven is in need of an oracle. But when Ethan’s visions take a disturbing turn, danger mounts and the mystery deepens- making for a great read.
Can’t wait for the rest of the series.

Thank you, A.J Renee!

Mythical Alliance: Phoenix Team: The Complete Season (Mythical Alliance #1 – 6) by Claire Luana contains all six books in this superb urban fantasy series. Mythical Alliance is a serialized series which consists of six novella length instalments full of all the paranormal action, adventure, mystery, danger, drama, tension, and intrigue you could want. With plenty of originality, incredible world building, and quirky paranormal beings (supes), this series not only makes for excellent reading- I think it would also translate well onto the small screen, and that’s one television series I would love to see.
What is the Mythical Alliance, who are the members of Phoenix Team, and just what do they get up to? This series is definitely worth the read to find out.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Black Dog Rising by Kat Caulberg is an intriguing paranormal romance- with plenty of drama, adventure, danger, mystery, and secrets. This is my first read by Ms. Caulberg, so I really wasn’t sure what to expect going in. But the title alone intrigued me enough to want to know more- so I took a chance and snapped up a copy and jumped right in.
Emma journeys to England trying to leave her previous bad relationship behind. But little does she know that this will be the start of an adventure that will change everything. Nothing is quite as it seems, as Emma will soon discover. This journey brings danger, uncovers secrets, and will test her like never before. Add some tension, chemistry, the Fae, a dark(ish) atmosphere, and some romance- and this story had me completely engrossed.
I am looking forward to exploring more of Ms. Caulberg’s work in the near future!

Thank you, Kat Caulberg!

Crave : An Instant Attraction Romantic Comedy (Clark Family Series) by Evelyn Sola

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by Sola. Crave is a great book and I can’t wait for more. She has a certain way of writing her stories that make you fall in love.

Sandy is filling in for her cousin at her mom’s bakery when she has to deliver something last minute. When she gets there she’s invited to stay. Family conflict happens and it leaves Sandy confused. The quote I chose for Sandy is: “Oh, please. I did not promise, and if he wanted a date with me, he wouldn’t have left me standing in the middle of the dance floor.”

Jake shows up to his mom’s birthday party only to meet the most beautiful girl he’s ever seen. He follows her around trying to get her attention after she blows him off. Will he get the chance to explain before it’s too late? The quote I chose for Jake is: “Are you saying you’ve never been in love before, Sandy?”

Highly recommended for contemporary romance lovers.

This is a wonderful collection. Out of all the novels in this collection, Paper Love by Aubrey Wynne is what caught my attention the most. Mainly because the character is more like me than others. Paper Love is sort of a misleading title but after reading it I can understand why Ms. Wynne used that title. Joss is a wonderful female lead character and the novel revolves around her and her love life or lack of one. When she does meet someone, she can’t help but wonder.

Twisted Secrets

Twisted Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This novel left me wanting. While I never ever judge a book by it’s cover, this one looked really intriguing. However, after I started reading the novel it seemed kind of dry. Amy McKinley is a wonderful and talented writer. This novel had a great story line. It just wasn’t delivered in a relatable way. After the first few chapters it left me wondering what was happening and I was confused. I get that not all novels are relatable, but this one should have been. At least somewhat relatable. It is beautifully written though and McKinley does deserve credit because she has written wonderful novels before. Now this is one readers opinions and not meant to persuade anyone either way. Try the novel yourself and see if you like it. You never know you may.

I really enjoyed this book, the story between Gabi and Mason was so sweet and you can never go wrong when at least one of the characters is a Cubs fan.

Gabi has a past that she isn’t very proud of which is understandable but she should be. She is an strong woman and can do anything she sets her mind to.  I do wish there was a little more attention on her past and how she got through everything.  Maybe it would give someone the strength to get out of that horrible situation.

Mason is a charmer, a successful and talented charmer.  I’m sure he had to depend on the charm with being the middle of the three boys. He certainly charmed me.

This is a great series and I’m looking forward to Seb’s book next.

Daddy's Girl (Freshwater Book 3)Daddy’s Girl by Belinda Williams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This story just really pulled at my heart strings. At first it’s all sassy and fun then the serious stuff hits. It’s weird for the male lead to be the one thinking they are unworthy. But Joel does and it plays out full of heartache and strength of character. As you can tell I enjoyed this story. It has depth, hope and strength. This drew me in with the fun and I became fully involved with the storyline.

I loved the spunk and fire of Em. She knows her self worth and doesn’t let others think less. She is kind, thoughtful and smart. Joel is surprised by Em. She is not what he was expecting…she is better. They have ups and downs to conquer and Work, family, friends and the past to all figure out how end up together …or apart.

Over all this is a story that affects my heart. It was filled with joy, sorrow and relief. I love it all! It was great to chat here u with the characters from the previous books.

Stormy’s Thunder (Satan’s Devils MC Utah #2) by Manda Mellett – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Stormy's Thunder (Satan's Devils MC Utah #2)Stormy’s Thunder by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After reading Road Tripped, I was intrigued as to what Stormy’s backstory was and what drove him to make the decisions he made. The second book in the Utah Chapter of Manda Mellett’s Satan’s Devils MC series, Stormy’s Thunder, promised to tell me more about this complex and mysterious character.
Stormy’s Thunder deviates from the format of the majority of the Satan’s Devils books as much of the story – whole chapters, even – is told through flashbacks. This is very effective. The present day sections of the story set out questions that are answered in the past, only to raise more questions that take us elsewhere in Stormy’s story.
Although many of the Satan’s Devils books work fine as standalones I would really recommend reading Road Tripped before Stormy’s Thunder. The stories are closely linked, with Stormy’s Thunder including retellings of some of the events of the previous book from different perspectives, and Road Tripped is a good introduction to the Utah Chapter.
For me, this is a five-star book. This series… honestly I have very little interest in romance and motorcycles but these books are so well written and the stories are always such page-turners, I’m hooked. A joy to read!

An exuberant story for all ages! A fun read for anyone!
