Tangles is a heart breaking story by Sharleen Scott. I had read her Caught series before picking up Tangles and even though the subject matter is so different, still you could feel the deep love for human relationships that the writer has and that I fell in love with when reading the Caught series. The writer has tackled a sensitive subject matter with Tangles and what makes it even more remarkable and person is the fact that she wrote it while her own family was trying to come to terms and find their way with the diagnoses of Alzheimer themselves. Tangles gives us the story of Logan McKinnon and his mother Louis who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s when she was in her late sixties… The journey that Logan gets on, the loss of his father who took care of his mother for years before he passes, the way how “the plaques and tangles win …” Logan finds his mother’s secret journals and that takes him on another journey that shakes him to his core and he needs to find his way to how to reconcile what he discovers and what he has known all his life AND he has no one to ask his questions as his dad is gone and his mother is also … gone … as she used to be … I know that you will not regret picking up Tangles, simply be prepared to having your heart strings pulled so hard that you need a box of tissues at hand!

I give Miami Days, Havana Nights by Linda Bennett Pennell, 5 stars.
In the mid 1920s, 17 year old Jewish boy Sam witnesses a mob hit in New York. Instead of losing his life, the men he works for ships him off to Miami, never to see his family again. He must learn to survive with coming to the reality that he will be working for the gangsters since they saved his life. He is told to stay in a Jewish bakery. Here he meets the baker’s daughter and falls in love. But her parents don’t want her to marry a gangster? Can he get out of this life? He owes them so much, but he loves Rebecca. Thus begins an interesting life no one had ever heard of.
While doing research for another course, Liz comes across an unknown man in quite a few photos of notorious Jewish connected man, Moshe Toblinsky. The more she tries to find out about this man, the more mysteries arise, including lots of travel and adventure. Meanwhile she is still dealing with the security of a trustworthy boyfriend, and some issues with her parents. Can she discover who this man is? Is it worth it?
I was blown away by the first book in the series and so eagerly awaited reading this book. I was so not disappointed. It has wonderful characters in both timelines and all of the things going on both present and in the past grip you in the spell the author has weaved of love, misfortune, action and adventure.
I highly recommend this book to all of those who like great books!

This story was so touching, movinig, and very emotional. It sucked you in at the very start and it didn’t once let me up! There is no doubt in my mind that this book wouldn’t have this effect on everyone. It’s a story that many people live through but many deal with it differently. Its a story of love and forgiveness.
Logan is caring for him mother who has Alzheimers. The emotions he goes through from sad to frustration to utter exhaustion pulls at your heartstrings. Logan soon discovers journals that he knew nothing about their existence and everything he thought or knew is up in question.
This was one beautiful and heartfelt book that everyone needs to read!

Virtue & Vice is the 2nd book in the Spicetopia series by Phoebe Alexander. This book starts exactly where Sugar & Spice finished. I would definitely recommend that you read Sugar & Spice first, infact, the author recommends this too. Sugar & Spice had many hot and steamy moments but it has nothing on this book. OMG this was off the charts HOT! This book contains BDSM and swinging so is not for the prudish person. Very early on there is a sex scene containing two couples, Cy & Jolie from Sugar & Spice and Moon & Katja who are the main characters in this book. If you’ve read the first book, they are the couple that Cy & Jolie meet at the very end of the book. Moon & Katja are a married couple who have been in the swinger’s lifestyle for many years. Bored with their jobs, they are keen to join Cy and Jolie in their plans to open an adult theme park. I loved both Moon and Katja’s characters. They are obviously very much in love and can’t get enough of each other. Although there is a lot of sexual content in this book, there is also a lot of other storylines going on that are very interesting and enjoyable and will keep you hooked. At the moment there are another 2 books planned in this series and I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for the couples we have already met and those we’ve still to be introduced to.

Rebel Jewel by Natalina Reis is the third and final book in The Jewel Chronicles series. I highly recommend reading the first two books before reading this one. This is an ongoing story and much better enjoyed as a series versus a standalone. Milenda is back from exile and she is the final catalyst needed for revolution. Does she want to take this on and endanger many including her husband and young daughter? I have really enjoyed this series it has action, adventure, romance, intrigue and much more. Also, the characters are really great and help drive the story forward. I did not want to put this down because I had to know what would become of everyone and where the story would end. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

When I first got the book Calling the Curveball (a Lawson Family Novel) by Tracey Cramer-Kelly, I didn’t think that it was a series. However the ending of the book kind of sets the stage for a next one to take place. I enjoyed this book so much that I hope there is another one to follow because I want to see what happens after reading the last chapter of this one. Jamie Lawson has always dreamed of being a pro baseball player and he was heading in the direction of making that happen. Unfortunately his life took in one instant when there was a wreck that left him injured and his wife dead. Since the accident 6 years ago he has made a life for himself even though he still lives with guilt and regret. Kira Walker has come into town to spend the summer with her sister, and on a whim of courage she ask Jamie out to a date. Reading about these two coming together and seeing the possibilities of a future relationship bloom between them was amazing. There was so much emotion in the pages of this book with not only Jamie and Kira but also their family and friends. This book put some things into perspective for me in my own life. This is a journey of hurt, guilt, love, and forgiveness. Definitely add this one to your reading list.

Paladin’s Hell by Manda Mellett is the first book in the Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) and such an amazing read. As a HUGE MC fan I have to say I loved this book and loved the authors way of creating such a strong setting and even stronger characters that I LOVED! Paladin saved Jayden and she began to crush on the one who saved her, he wanted her to grow, so he waited while he doubted that he would ever be able to call her his. Finally they were able to go to Colorado, away from those that told him she couldn’t be his. A new club and a new life Jayden. But things don’t seem to be working and forces want Jayden and I not to have the life we want, need, and so deserve. Can Jayden and Paladin make this work when so many things are against them? I loved this book, I think the author has such a strong talent. I have never read anything by her and now have tons to read and I look forward to the many more books sitting on my kindle waiting. The talent, the detail, the characters were able to pull me right in and leave me wanting more! FIVE STARS!!

Collision by Nicole Banks is the third book of the Shattered Hearts series. This book is Chase and Kris’ story.
Chase and Kris have always had a back and forth type of relationship which you see quite a bit of in the first two books. Chase is convinced nothing can happen between them but gets insanely jealous and claims Kris as his if she even shows attention to someone else remind her she is his. Chase has to leave because of a deal he made to help Angel. He doesn’t want to leave Kris but it’s something he has to do. Usually he comes back but this time he chose not to look back. Kris couldn’t believe he left the way he did and now has been gone for eight years so she did what she had to do and moved on the best she could. What she wasn’t expecting, the day of her brothers wedding was to see Chase again after so long. Kris wants nothing to do with him and Chase just wants to win her back. Will they work through their issues or will Kris be unable to forgive him for everything?
This book was a great ending to the series. I had wanted to see more of their relationship and couldn’t wait to read this book. There’s also a lot of underlying suspense in the book that keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen. I loved this book and series!
Tangles by Sharleen Scott is a little bit different to the other books of hers that I’ve read. I really loved ‘The Caught” series, so when I saw she had released this book, I was intrigued to see what it was all about. The blurb gives a tiny taste of what you can expect from this story. But it doesn’t convey how much heartbreak and emotion this story contains. Alzheimer’s is a tough subject to write about, as there are so many people who are living it, and have felt the impact of this horrible disease- whether it’s being diagnosed personally or seeing a loved one succumb to it, Alzheimer’s leaves a huge impact. This story is more than an Alzheimer’s story- it’s about family, secrets, discoveries, questions, truth, forgiveness, and understanding. Tangles follows Logan, who takes on the responsibility of caring for his mother after his father suddenly passes away- as she has Alzheimer’s. He faces many challenges and experiences many conflicting emotions as he grapples with their situation. But things are compounded when he discovers her old journals which cause him to question everything he thought he knew. What do the journals reveal? How does that affect Logan? What will he discover? I loved Logan and his mother Lois- they are wonderful characters. I really felt for them both, but especially Logan. The story was really well written and felt very realistic, believable, and relatable. My emotions definitely got a workout with this story. Looking forward to seeing what Ms. Scott does next.

Rogue Wave (The Inland Seas Series Book 2) by Gwyn McNamee is a great addition to this series. It is a fast paced and action packed tale that will have you restless on the edge of your seat. The characters are complicated and fierce but also have many many layers but once you peel them back you can see into their hearts. I enjoyed book one but this book had me feeling so much more for our two main characters and their stories. I am glad we got to peel back Cutters layers and that what we found was a man who has the same fears, self doubts and hurts and is afraid to go after what he thinks he could never have.
Valentina is not afraid to call you out and tell you how it is. What she does not like however, is to be disrespected and you can bet your bottom dollar the man who infuriates her is also the same man who sets her heart on fire.
Gwyn has written a story that is a great read and has a great plot which is complemented with the strong characters she has given us. I look forward to the next installment.

I read a few books from this author and this one has been the best so far. This is the last book of the Shattered Heart series. My favorite genre is second chance romance and it exceeded all my expectations. I was so excited when this book came out I started it immediately. It only took me a few hours to devour this incredible book.
Kris and Chase has been friends for a long time. They did everything together. One night they take their relationship to the next level. They have an unforgettable night together. Chase gets a job that makes him leave Kris’s life but she knows he will be back. It is now eight years later and Kris is finally ready to move on from Chase. She is happy with her new life. Kris is in complete shock when she hears that Chase is back. She still has deep feelings for him but is he the same man she onced loved?
I absolutely loved this book. This storyline has it all romance, mystery, and some suspense. You can’t help but to fall in love with these characters. Kris is a beautiful woman that is very independent. She has some walls up due to her past. Chase is a good guy deep down inside. He will do anything to see Kris happy. These characters have some steamy scenes that will make your temperature rise. This talented author will have you at the edge of your seat until the end. I can’t wait to see what this author will write next.

All That’s Left Unsaid by Rowena Holloway is a mystery story that is intriguing. It is a story of secrets and lies but who is telling the truth and how do you tell the lies. The story has many many facets where it will keep you on your toes with twists and manipulation. It is set in Italy and the characters are “interesting”. The more there are answers the more there are questions.
Harriet is a strong and independent woman and doesn’t see eye to eye with her mother, lets just say their relationship is complicated but when her mother mentions concerns, the journalist in Harriet is intrigued. What she finds is so much more than she ever thought. The more she digs deeper the more mysterious it becomes.
Rowena as spun a story that is a dangerous web but one that will keep you guessing right to the very end.
This book had me hooked from the beginning and kept me enthralled through the entire story!! I liked Harriet from the beginning, she is a strong, independent woman who is just trying to help her mom in hopes that it will help their relationship. What she didn’t bargain for was everything she was going to encounter when she gets to Italy. This book is full of danger, suspense, twists and turns. I could not put this book down until I got to the last page because I needed to know what was going to happen next. The author did an exceptional job with this book and it is a must read!! I highly recommend this book.
The Fisher Men Xing Lines: (Standalone Romantic Comedy: A hot new twist on the odd couple) by Rebel Nicks O’Dey has become my new favourite series so far. I love the Fisher men and what they stand for and how they were raised. They all have their unique quirks and it is a pleasure to read their stories. Rebel has done a great job making the characters perfectly flawed and I just love the concept and storyline. Her writing has almost a soothing affect even with all the ups and downs and heart wrenching scenes that occur.
Rika needs a place to stay and has landed with a roommate who is hardly ever there. They develop a friendship but have never actually met in the year she has been there. When they do meet sparks ignite and opposites attract. I love the friendship and banter they share and the other brothers and Sam, they often have me laughing out loud and certainly enjoying going on this journey with them.
Connor likes everything just so, so when he does a favour for his best friend his world is turned upside down. After what seems like a life time he finally meets the one thing that turned his life on its axis and discovers he wants so much more.
If you don’t get into this series asap you will kick yourself when you do.

I don’t want to ruin anything that happens in this story, it’s a must read and i’m so happy we get to see into another of this bunch of guys heads.

This story tells of racing, romance, and some of the hazards that are faced by those who live that life. The story unfolds as someone is stalking the couple and Liz suddenly disappears. This page turner leaves the reader needing to know what happens next. This thriller should be on everyone’s must read list. Zoe Burton has driven us into the unpredictable world of racing and the reader will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a suspense or romance reader..or both. Virtue & Vice (Spicetopia #2) by Phoebe Alexander was an excellent steamy Romance. I love reading Alexander’s books. With this novel shed did an excellent job with her characters Moon and Katja. They were introduced originally at the end of book one and this story has a greater focus on them. I do recommend that book one be read prior to this since it builds off of that storyline. It will help readers understand what is going on better.
I also really enjoyed the storyline and how organized it seemed to be. I had no trouble keeping pace with it as well. It does have a lot of sexual content so it is not a recommendation I would give to readers under 18. I do highly recommend this book and hope others check it out. It is easy to get lost in.

This series just keeps getting better and better. I devoured this book and i was sucked into all of the awesomeness. There is twists and turns, I laughed and I cried throughout all of it…. i couldn’t put it down. I was excited to get Cutter’s Story! He appeared in the first book and i knew i had to get my hands on his story and figure him out. He is such a great character and i was interested to see were his story would go. He meets Valentina and the chemistry between them is off the charts. They are each others equal but they have to find common ground and learn to get along or the chemistry between them will fizzle out and the love hate relationship they have will just turn into hatred. This story is a must read and i would recommend it to a friend.

This is a short YA that was a good start to this series. It is the length of a novella so i was able to read it one setting. It was creative and original and i am looking forward to reading more. This story is about Talise. She was a great character and i liked the younger version of her too. The side characters were awesome as well! I liked that there was so much that happened in this book and i was on the edge of my seat for the whole thing. I can’t wait to read more by this author and i would recommend to anyone that likes YA fantasy.

Ice Crown (The Elements of Kamdaria Book 1) By Kay L Moody. This story drew me in from the first few sentences. It’s a great start to a new series and I’m excited to see where the author takes readers. While this is on the shorter side I didn’t enjoy it any less, I do think there was times where it could have had a bit more. But overall it’s a unique story that had me hooked. It’s well written and the characters are complex and relatable. Talise takes readers on quite the adventure, I loved her drive. I’m definitely looking forward to more from this series and this author. Four stars and highly recommend it.

Rebel Jewel by Natalina Reis is the third book in the Jewel Chronicle series. You do really need to be read the first two books in this series as it is a continuation of the story. You would miss out on a lot if you did not read them. With everything the last two books built up to you knew this one would be fantastic. These characters have been through so much and to watch them have to go through even more was heartbreaking. I was desperate for them to find a way through. This author has such a great writing style. It ebbs and flows perfectly. She even throws in a few surprises for along the way. This has been a brilliant series and one I would definitely recommend you read.

Shameless is the second book in The Orphan Train Saga by Sherry A. Burton. This book is a continuation of the story we began back in “Discovery” (Book #1). This story follows Tobias, who we ‘met’ in the previous book. He is only young but has endured more hardship than anyone deserves to- suffering abuse and neglect due to the family’s impoverished existence- and soon found himself on the streets. But this is not where his story ends. We discover his connection/s to the Orphan Train and what becomes of him, and what he has to do to survive. Another emotive story woven around this intriguing piece of history. As with the first book, this is a mixture of history, drama, fact, and fiction. While all the characters and situations in the story are fictional, the ‘Orphan Trains’ and the situations that brought them about, are quite factual. An emotive journey of discovery!

I enjoyed this contemporay romance story. It is a well written story that is fast reading as well as engaging. Beckett and Greer are characters that are connectable as well as made the story realistic. They took me on an emotional roller coaster that kept me turning pages fast. Greer finds herself in a new home and new school but problem, Beckett doesn’t want her in either places. She is confused why she feels drawn to him. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next.

OMG I FLOVED this book!! I really enjoyed the first one but this one is so far my favorite. I love love love the getting to know you through texts and phone calls. This was so much fun to read. The interaction between ALL of these characters was so awesome and it made the flow of this story so smooth and simply awesome!
Nonna has to be one of my favorite characters ever and the bars of soap had me rolling!! Another of my favorite things was the values and life lessons taught in this book to these characters at a young age, I respected that alot and it didn’t make them all seem like caveman day values, they were simply lessons that meant something..Hard to explain but I loved it!
I’ll admit, I need to go back and read both of these again before another comes out and I’m really looking forward to that because they are that good, but I need to get caught up and understand better the ongoing story going on involving the Seh, and all the different working parts of everything else. I get it but some of it has left me confused which tells me I read too many parts too fast and I tend to do that when I love books this much, and now that I know how some parts turn out I can go back and put my concentration on the others.
This author has crept up on me and her writing style is right up my alley, she has me completely invested in all of these people and I can not wait for the next and any and everything she ever writes.
Simply Awesome and Amazing…Read them both, in order..Trust me!!

So the saga continues. As Cindy and her mother find and read grandmother’s journals.You will read all about Tobias and his experience as a young child riding the orphan train. As well as his will to survive and become a man. You will find his story will keep you reading, as it did me.
I enjoyed reading Sherry A. Burton’s Historical Fiction. Even though I don’t usually read Historical books. Once I read the first book, Discovery. I needed to follow this train and read about more characters in this series. I cried, and at times laughed. My heart went out to this young man as well as the other children. Well written and interesting, this book will drag you in, just as it did me. So get out the tissue, chocolate, and whatever you need to get through book 2. Once you open this book, you are in for the ride. Well done!! Enjoy!!

The story Battling Beckett: A Contemporary Step Brother Romance by T. Christensen is a contemporary/sports romance book. It is a story that will pull you in from the beginning and it didn’t let me go until I had read the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Greer and Beckett. Greer has had her life changed when she moves into a mansion. She is going to a new school and has to deal with Beckett who is not welcoming. Beckett is at the top of the private school he attends. He doesn’t make Greer feel welcome either in the home they both live in or at school. Even with the tension that is between them Greer feels an attraction to Beckett. What does the future hold for Beckett and Greer? Will Beckett be more welcoming to Greer? Will Greer act on her attraction to Beckett? Read this book to find out. I grew to care about Greer with each chapter that I read and wanted her to be happy. Beckett is a character that takes a little bit to warm up to however I came to understand him and also wanted him to find happiness. There are additional characters that are introduced and many of them are good friends with Greer. I enjoyed reading about them. This is an amazing book that will have you hooked from the very beginning. I highly recommend reading it.

She lives with her husband of over 30 years, who, along with her son, is her greatest fan and supporter.
Manda is thankful that one of the more unusual, and at the time unpleasant, turns her life took, now enables her to spend her time writing. Confirming, in her view, every cloud has a silver lining.

The River Fairy’s Wish is a cute little book by Cyrena Shows. I love the illustrations by Anastasia Yatsunenko, they are very colorful and vibrant. The book is described as a lyrical fairy tale which is exactly what it is. While i was reading it to my children, I liked that the story was like a song, that kept adding on line by line, page by page. By the end they were reading/signing along. I can say by children ranging 3-9 all enjoyed it.
