Flirty Dancing: A Spicy Romantic Comedy About the Afterlife (The Green Room Chronicles Book 3) by J.D. Frettier – Review by Sheri Schrader

Flirty DancingFlirty Dancing by J.D. Frettier
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Flirty Dancing: A Spicy Romantic Comedy About the Afterlife by J.D. Frettier is the third book in The Green Room Chronicles. This time we are introduced to Kitty and she is not going to let her death stop her. I recommend reading these in order because each book is adding to the next book with characters and stories. This is a short, fun read. Kitty is a good addition to the Green Room crew. I like that she is younger but still works well with the other ladies. This is one of those books that is a bit outrageous (as is the whole series) but makes it a fun read. I like that the idea of purgatory is a light-hearted fun place versus a scary place. This is one of those series I was not sure I would like but I am glad I gave it a try. I laugh out loud at some of the antics and I enjoy having a book I do not have to be thinking deep thoughts to understand. If you need a fun book and do not mind some adult situations this might do the trick for you.

Devil’s Backbone (Wild Beasts Series Book 5) by T. Birmingham – Review by Jana Teppih

Devil's Backbone (Wild Beasts Series Book 5)Devil’s Backbone by T. Birmingham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Devil’s Backbone is the fifth book in T. Birmingham’s Wild Beast series that is filled with action, danger, mystery, suspense, magic … everything that one superb paranormal romance needs to have! I know that some say that you could read each book as a standalone but I have read them in the order and as you meet the leads of different books again in the other ones, there is a lot of backstory and information that is in each of the books (not repeating) then it is in your own best interest to be familiar with them to fully enjoy the series!
Devil’s Backbone is the story of Tess Thompson, our shut down kind and caring Tess who also has a unique genetic traits, and Benjamin Oliver, our ultimate protector! Like all the other books, Devil’s Backbone is so multi-layered and intricate so you better really pay attention as the story is intense and the writer goes straight to the point! I was rooting for Tess and Ben from the first moment and I was wishing for a happy ending but nothing comes easy so be prepared for one heck of a ride! I am really happy that there will be more stories in this mindbending series!

Flirty Dancing: A Spicy Romantic Comedy About the Afterlife (The Green Room Chronicles Book 3) by J.D. Frettier – Review by Maura Harper

Flirty DancingFlirty Dancing by J.D. Frettier
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’ve read the other 2 books in this series but this is the first one that I’ve read since my mother died and I have to tell you – if there is a “green room” I hope to hell she has made friends as fun as these gals. (of course that’s as far as I’m going to go with that thought because if there really is a Dr. Draper and she is visiting, I’m better off not knowing).

This story packed a punch for me.

Light and sad and funny and all these emotions tied up inside. It’s a combination of YOLO and YODO and how acceptance plays a key role in settling in to a new “normal”.

This is a fun, short story that I absolutely recommend. I would recommend it to my mother’s book club but – well, I can’t so I will recommend it to you.

If The Shoe Fits
The Liberty Lawrence Series
Book 3
By Bea Stevens
☆☆☆☆☆
This is a full length novel containing suspense and a little bit of romance.

Liberty, know as Libby has the perfect job. She is finally where she wants to be. But she has one problem, her boss doesn’t like her. Making her think twice before she opens her mouth. Even when it comes to telling her boss the truth. Someone is out to scam her boss. Someone is also out to kill Libby. Therefore Libby must get some answers and find the person out to get her.

Bea Stevens has written this real page turning story. Yes it get suspenseful! I love her characters. Watch out for George Clooney look alike. Her description of each of her characters is graphic. So well I could see them, as she tells this story. She also walks you into the fashion industry. So between suspense and fashion this story is bound to keep your interested. I really enjoyed reading this authors story. Bea Stevens will be added to my list of must read authors.

Reset to One (Paranormal Talent Agency Book 2) by Heather Silvio – Review by Maura Harper

Reset to One (Paranormal Talent Agency, #2)Reset to One by Heather Silvio
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“Reset to one – go back to the beginning”

This is the second book in the Paranormal Talent Agency Series and it can be read as a stand-alone, but the first is also enjoyable.

This is a shorter story yet is full-bodied. If there wasn’t the paranormal twist, I would call this a cozy mystery. It’s clean and cute and something that I think any age could enjoy.

The characters are developed quickly, they all play a role in the story, the timeline of the story is well paced and every scene is vital to the story. There is no filler or repetition to make a word count. I read the story in a couple of hours and I felt better after reading it than before. It allowed me to escape into a world so different from mine (thank goodness because I’m not sure I could handle the things these characters go through.

I would recommend this to knitting groups and book clubs alike.

Flirty Dancing is the third book in the Green Room Chronicles by JD Frettier. Ever wonder what happens at the end? In Flirty Dancing, JD Frettier brings an enchanting answer to that question. When Kitty finds herself in the “Green Room” she doesn’t know what has happened to her. Where is her husband? Where are her kids? Who are these women and why are they helping her?
A cute story about the afterlife! I enjoyed seeing what would happen after Kitty wakes up in the green room. I loved the tongue in cheek humor regarding the inhabitants of purgatory and plan on looking into the remaining novellas in this series.

Flirty Dancing, A Spicy Romantic Comedy About The Afterlife, Book 3 The Green Room Chronicles, by J D Frettier

5-Stars

Flirty Dancing is funny, romantic, and definitely pulls at your heart strings. This short read is definitely my favorite out of this series. Kitty dies after an accident while practicing for her pole dancing class. She is devastated at what she has left behind, which is what really pulled at my heart strings. She meets the rest of the crew in the green room who help her out and help her adjust. This story was funny and easy to follow. I could not put it down and I loved how it ended. This book is an excellent read and can be read as a standalone. I do, however, recommend the other books in this series. The author has done an amazing job with them.

4 Stars!!!!

Wow what can I say but wow. This is yet another book in the Gray Ghost Series and I wasn’t disappointed. I really find the author’s writing style to be refreshing. The book has just the right amount of drama with the right amount of romance to go with it. I was unable to put the book down.

I really like how Stella and Hawk’s lives come entwined. The chemistry between the two is very endearing. The way that Hawks past comes into play with the dramas that are unfolding in Stella’s life really bring a twist to the book. The author really grabs the reader from the get go and leaves the reader wanting more and more. I will definitely be reading more from this author and this series in the future.

This short story is a mix of utter sadness and far-fetched hilarity! No one really knows what happens to us after our deaths and Frettier gives us just one view with this easy fun read. Frettier has an easy to read writing style that makes this reader want to read the rest of the series.

Kitty suddenly dies and instead of going to Heaven or Hell, she is sent to The Green Room. A place where some people go after they die. The Green Room has many other people waiting. Instant friends come to the aid of Kitty in her confusion and introduce her to the Green Room amenities.

Many characters in this story equals many other stories to read!!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Flirty Dancing is book 3 in The Green Room Chronicles Series by Jennifer Theriot. These books can be read as a stand-alone as each book follows new intriguing characters and storylines.

I really enjoyed this read and each character that was involved in the story, Dee, Bonnie & Linda were bright and supportive for Kitty and just want she needed when she unexpectedly passed over to “The Green Room”. This book has humour, raw emotions and while its sad to think that Kitty was taken from her family and kids too early there was something fun about this read, I liked how she was taught channeling so that she can go back and see her kids and visit with Sam. With this being my first read from this author, I really didn’t know what to expect but after this quick, easy flowing & captivating read I will be looking forward to reading more from her, and what else will come of this series.

Reset to One (Paranormal Talent Agency Series Book 2) by Heather Silvio – Review by Angela Hayes

Reset to One (Paranormal Talent Agency, #2)Reset to One by Heather Silvio
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reset to One is the second book in the Paranormal Talent Agency Series by Heather Silvio. This is a really fun read- a paranormal mystery (a ‘who-dunnit’), with romance, murder, secrets, intrigue, danger, discoveries, supernatural elements, and wonderful characters.
We met Evelyn Jones (Evie) in the first book, where she was part of the supporting cast. But here she gets to star in her own story. Evie is an actress, and a vampire, who signed on with Catherine (Book #1) at the Peterson Talent Agency. She gets a role in a new movie, with a sexy co-star Ryan. The mystery starts when Ryan’s friend is accused of murder and Evie offers to help him find who really did it. But what happens when her ex arrives in town? Will they be able to solve the mystery? Will her being a vampire prove to be to be a ‘deal-breaker’ for Ryan? I also liked seeing some of the characters from the first book appearing in this story too and playing their part.
As with the first book, the story is a little predictable, but again, that didn’t detract from my enjoyment. It is a really sweet story, with an original spin on the paranormal romance/mystery theme. And I think that the books would make a fun television series, too.
I am looking forward to seeing what Ms. Silvio does next!

Thank you, Ms. Silvio!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Flirty Dancing is the third book in The Green Room Chronicles series by J.D Frettier. It is a paranormal fantasy, and like its series companions, has a lot of laughs along the way. But I also think this story has more emotional moments in it than I remember the other two books having. But like the other two stories, it’s funny, cheeky, and entirely entertaining! There are supernatural elements, magic, and some spice to be found in this witty romp. I am really enjoying Ms. Frettier’s imaginative, fun, and slightly tongue-in-cheek look at the afterlife!
An unfortunate stripper pole incident takes Kitty Eatin to purgatory- aka The Green Room. She’s not ready to give up living, and certainly isn’t ready to say goodbye to her husband and children. So she enlists the help of some newfound friends and comes up with a plan. What ensues makes for some very entertaining reading.

Thank you, Ms. Frettier!

Abandoned By Love (Shattered Hearts Duet Book #1) by Aleya Michelle – Review by Angela Hayes

Abandoned by Love (Shattered Hearts Duet, #1)Abandoned by Love by Aleya Michelle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Abandoned By Love is the first book in the Shattered Hearts Duet by Aleya Michelle. This story has a familiar recipe, but done really well. Even though it was a little predictable, the story still engaged me and kept me interested. It is told from past and present perspectives, with a lot of ‘flashbacks’ into the past which helps to build up the backstory.
The plot really made me think about how one moment in time, one seemingly insignificant decision, can impact your life so irrevocably. That’s just what happens here though, one life altering choice, changes everything. When Jax and Emily have their whole lives ahead of them, and plans of always being together- how do things change so drastically? What drives Emily to leave her childhood sweetheart? Can their shattered hearts ever be mended? This emotive story is worth the read to find out.
Aleya Michelle created a solid cast of characters who drew me into the story. There were many emotional moments, that had me reaching for the tissues. There were also times I was really frustrated by the characters- especially Emily. But that added to the whole ‘feel’ of the story. The ending certainly has me anticipating the release of book #2, that’s for sure!
Well done!

Thank you, Aleya Michelle!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reset to One is the second book in the Paranormal Talent Agency series and it is a perfect follow-up book. While it expands on the supernatural world in Vegas, it stands alone as an amazingly fun story. I really liked Evie as a character, I wanted to know all about her, maybe because she doesn’t really seem like any other vampire I have read before. That is a pattern I’m finding with Heather Silvio’s books, she makes characters that you don’t want to give up, and a story that keeps you flipping pages. I liked this book almost as much as I liked the first book which doesn’t often happen for me so I highly recommend it if you want to escape for a few hours.

This was another cute story in the Green Room Chronicles. This time Kitty Eatin ends up in the Green Room. A stripper by trade, never did she think her dancing pole would kill her. After a pretty crappy life, she finally finds true love only to die. Worried about her children and wanting to reconnect with her love, she enlists the help of her new friends Dee, Bonnie and Linda. They introduce her to a ghostologist and a scientist. Another hilarious adventure takes place as she plans a surprise for her husband’s birthday.

I have to admit there were moments that pulled at my heart strings as she watched the children that she left behind but there is always lots of laughs as Dee and the girls get themselves into entertaining and spicy situations. If you’re looking for a fun quick read then this is the book for you.

Flirty DancingFlirty Dancing by J.D. Frettier
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Flirty Dancing is the 3rd instalment in the Green Room Chronicles Series by JD Frettier. The Green Room Chronicles are a series of funny, spicy novellas set in the afterlife. This novella is approx. 81 pages and I devoured it in one sitting.
In Flirty Dancing we are introduced to Kitty Eatin (sorry, just her name alone has me giggling). Kitty is a pole dancing mother of 2 who is married to the love of her life. So it’s a major shock when the grim reaper comes to claim her and she finds herself as the newest resident in The Green Room.
Beloved characters Dee, Bonnie and Linda from the previous books are there to welcome her and introduce her to the wonderful world of the Green Room. With the help of a ghostologist Kitty is able to reconnect with her beloved husband and children who are struggling with life without her.
As funny as these novellas are, all start with the main character dying. These novellas really do pull on the heartstrings as the newly deceased person, Kitty in this case, struggle to comprehend that they are dead and ‘life’ will never be the same again.
I thoroughly enjoyed Flirty Dancing, as I had enjoyed the previous 2 novellas in this series and I really hope that J.D. Frettier has more to give us from The Green Room.

This is my second read by this author and also the 2nd in this series… I loved it just as I did the first one. I love how this author tells a story and how smooth the story flows.

I love series with recurring characters and it was awesome checking back in with the mains of the first book. I also loved that I was trying to solve a mystery and at the same time this story made me laugh out loud more than once.

There is definitely an ongoing story behind the main characters relationships and I’m loving how this is being told, and is very easy to follow. Because of this I would definitely not recommend reading these out of order, besides the stories are awesome so you don’t want to miss out on these.

I can’t wait for this story to continue because the ending definitely left me needing much much more. I also can not wait to check in to what else this author has available.

I highly recommend this!

Loved it!

Heartbreaking!!
Heartbreaking is the one word I’d use to describe Abandoned By Love by Aleya Michelle. If you decide to read this book, and I definitely recommend that you do, then please make sure that you have a supply of tissues handy as you will sure as hell need them.
Jaxon and Emily are school sweethearts who are madly in love and have a bright future ahead of them. Jaxon is the star of the baseball team and Emily is a gymnast. Their lives are pretty perfect but then fate has a different plan for them. A car crash changes their lives forever. Emily can’t face her future anymore and moves away leaving Jaxon heartbroken.
This story is so powerful and full of emotion. Told from both points of view, we are given flash backs to the perfect lives they had before the accident, and also are given an emotional look at how both are dealing with the post-accident trauma and struggling to cope with life without each other.
This is the first part of a duet and I cannot wait for part two to come out as I’m desperate to know what the future hold for both Emily and Jaxon. They are both amazing characters who have had so much adversity in their lives and they really deserve a HEA, hopefully with each other.

Vantage Point (A Gray Ghost Novel, book 4) by Amy McKinley – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Vantage Point (Gray Ghost #4)Vantage Point by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Vantage Point is the fourth book in Amy McKinley’s Gray Ghost series. The series follows a team of people, many with military experience, who undertake security missions and similar risky tasks. Pretty much everyone on the team has a tragic backstory which motivates them to work to protect others who are in danger.
In this book, the focus is on Hawk – a member of the team we’ve already encountered in previous books. He’s concerned about his neighbour Stella, having overheard arguments from her apartment. Although initially reluctant to take up his offer for help, Stella turns to Hawk when she realises the mess she’s in is much bigger than she anticipated.
The present-day story is interspersed with flashbacks to Hawk’s childhood. We learn about the abuse and neglect he suffered and overcame. We also see how this childhood trauma factors into his drive to protect others, including Stella, from similar dangers.
It’s an action-packed, suspenseful story. The other members of the Gray Ghost team play a part, and it’s nice to see familiar characters popping up as Hawk is developed further. I really like this approach to having a series that focuses on different members of the team in different books.
For me, this is a five star read. It’s a great series and I would thoroughly recommend reading it if you like action, romance and suspense.

I was so excited to read this book and oh my what a book it was! I was completely captivated from beginning to end. This book is the continuation of Darren’s and Luisa’s story so absolutely should be read after book 2. I was so intrigued by their story in book 1 and I had hoped to find out more about them in this book and I got that and more! They just had such a strong and intense relationship that at times make you wonder whether they should be together but deep down you know that they absolutely should. The detail the author uses in her writing makes you feel like you are right there in the story with these characters and living their live along with them. Her attention to everything in the story just aids with making her books such an absolute pleasure to read and I would not hesitate at all to recommend this series to anybody who is looking for a fantastic 5 star set of books!
