Tapped by Tarrah Anders – Review by Crystal Davidson

TappedTapped by Tarrah Anders
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tapped is Book 3 in its series by Tarrah Anders. I am quickly becoming a huge fan! I unknowingly read a book previously, and am working my way backwards now. This story is placed in Las Vegas. Jenae tends bar at The Essentials and Kai is a Male Dancer hired on at The Essentials. Janae and Kai dated 10 years prior. They met their Junior year in school and dated for 2 years. She broke up with him because he knew exactly what he wanted in life, and it was scary because she wasn’t sure what she wanted, except that it was different than what he wanted. His first night at the Essentials is their first time seeing each other since their breakup. Very soon after they start working together they pick up where they left off. Kai is the only boy/man Janae has ever loved and vice versa. This story is without a doubt for mature audiences. I loved almost everything about this book. Melissa, Janae’s sister lives in New Orleans with her mom. Right off the top she is my favorite character. She’s funny and chipper and I wish there was more of her in this book! That is literally my only complaint! 5 out of 5 stars!

The Lies We Tell by Brittany Butler – Review by Sarah Oakes

The Lies We TellThe Lies We Tell by Brittany Butler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A great read about lies. Natalie Conner ran away for a life as an author. Life is good to her with fame and new friends. She even falls in love again with new friend Collin but when life with Collin begins to turn sour, will she run away again?
A great read. Well developed plot. Well developed characters like the sarcastic but sensitive Natalie or Collin’s harsh exterior but kind underneath. Great cast of supporting characters like fun friend Tabatha or the humorous Jack.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel with the contrasts between a quiet home and busy spaces like coffee shops or the dinner scenes which was brilliantly written.
The jumps between past and present was a brilliant idea to show how things had changed and was fairly easy to follow. The only issue I would raise is that there was some repetition and long sentences in places. Overall, a great read and I would give it four stars.

Not So Broken (Love Grows Series Book 1)
By: Renee Regent
5 out of 5 stars

The story Not So Broken (Love Grows Series Book 1) by Renee Regent is a contemporary romance book. It is a story that I loved reading. One of the reasons I loved it so much is the characters of Gibson and Sacha. Gibson is a man who believes that he is broken. A tragedy has left him with memories and feelings of guilt. He has no interest in relationships. He has given up on love. Then he meets Sacha. Sacha is a woman who is intelligent, independent, beautiful, and strong. She is highly motivated and determined when it comes to making her dreams come true. There is no room for a relationship in her life right now. One night changes everything. Gibson is finding himself falling for Sacha. Sacha has never had anyone make her feel the way that Gibson does, however, she is one that guards her heart. Will Gibson be able to convince Sacha that they belong together? Will he get past the shields that she puts up? There is a connection and passion between these two. What does the future hold for them? Read this book to find out. This is a story that I just couldn’t put down. My emotions went through ups and downs right along with Sacha’s and Gibson’s. These two are being pulled towards each other. They are two people who I grew to care about and I wanted them to find happiness. Feelings/emotions are felt by both and there are steamy scenes included that make the temperature in the room rise. You are also introduced to other secondary characters who are part of the story and I enjoyed reading about the part that they play in the lives of Sacha and Gibson. There are moments that made me sad, ones that made me smile, and moments that warmed my heart. A story that you won’t want to put down until you have read the final page.

“The beauty was that war often revealed the perseverance of the human spirit.”

This incredibly phenomenal book has left me feeling all kinds of emotions. As I sit here writing my review, I feel like I’m at a loss as to what to write, how do you properly describe a book that captures you and holds you captive until the end. A story that fills you with all kinds of emotions, from sadness, anger, hurt, shock, sympathy, disbelief etc. and makes you feel as if you are right there with these characters experiencing every traumatic event they are. A Terrible Beauty is one of the best books I’ve ever read!

I honestly can’t wait to reread this book and I’ve literally just finished it. I would highly highly recommend this book to anyone whose ready to get lost in an unforgettable story!

The story Beneath the Surface (A Gray Ghost Novel Book 3) by Amy McKinley is a wonderful book that I loved reading. It has romance, mystery, and suspense. The story had me turning pages to find out what was going to happen next. The action, adventure, and danger had me on the edge of my seat and I had to remind myself to breathe. The book had me hooked from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Hannah Miller and Jack Davis. Hannah is independent, strong, beautiful, and a survivor. She is a woman with a secret. She also has found herself on a private plane that has been hijacked. Jack is a man who not only is part of the Gray Ghost team but also one who is devoted to helping out those who are lost and alone. He has had and still has feelings for Hannah. Jack is sent to recover a secret weapon, however, he finds himself unable to stop himself from finding Hannah as well. The same sparks that he felt for her reignite. Complications arise when evidence shows that Hannah may be a traitor. He is putting everything on the line for her. Is his trust in Hannah misplaced? Will Hannah fully trust Jack? Is there a future for Jack and Hannah? Read this book to find out. This is a thrilling story that does not disappoint. I could feel the passion/connection that Jack and Hannah have. They are both characters that I grew to care about and wanted everything to work out for them. There are other additional characters in the story and I liked that the other members of the Gray Ghost team make an appearance and have their part to play in the story. This is a book that will keep you on your toes and guessing until the very end.

The story Perilous Confessions (The Possession Chronicles Book 1) by Carrie Dalby is a historical fiction romance book. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and I found myself lost in the pages. I enjoyed reading about the character of Lucy Easton. Lucy is a young woman who is driven to become a writer. She is beautiful, intelligent, and strong. She also has found herself deeply attracted to Alexander Melling. Alexander is a young lawyer who has deep feelings for Lucy. She takes his breath away. He is also someone who has a past. The feelings between these two are strong and I could feel the passion/desire that they felt for one another. There is flirting and bantering that goes back and forth between them. Will Alexander’s past be the undoing of their relationship? What does the future hold for Lucy and Alexander? Read this book to find out. I found myself getting caught up in the romance and life that Lucy lives. Lucy is a character that I grew to care about with each chapter that I read. From the highs to the lows, my emotions went up and down the entire time I was reading this story. There are other characters that you are introduced to and I enjoyed reading about the part that they play in the story. The story has both romantic and emotional dialogue. It is a story that I would recommend reading.

Killer Lawyer (Jake Wolfe Series Book #3) by Mark Nolan – Review by Angela Hayes

Killer LawyerKiller Lawyer by Mark Nolan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Killer Lawyer is the latest addition to the Jake Wolfe series by Mark Nolan. It is an incredibly clever, intense, gripping and suspenseful read. This has a complex, multi-layered storyline- with lots of action, drama, intrigue, humour, danger, tension, and mystery.
We once again team up with former marine Jake Wolfe and follow his lead, as all the excitement unfolds. Jake has earned his law degree, and has also been recruited to undertake dangerous, covert assignments on behalf of the government. His constant companion- trusty, highly intelligent, and loyal ex-war dog, Cody, live on a motor yacht own by a wealthy friend.
When a deranged killer starts killing random targets on the streets on San Francisco, Jake and Cody are determined to hunt him down and eliminate the threat. But what happens when the killer decides to target Jake, Cody and all the people they love most in the world? This book really is worth the read to find out all the exciting details for yourself.
It is a fast paced story with lots of twists and surprising developments. This is such an absorbing read, I ended up reading it in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down, I really need to know how the whole story played out!
The story is told from multiple POV’s ( even Cody the dog gets a say), which gives a well-rounded perspective of the developments, and adds an extra dynamic to the whole story.
The characters are so great- they are completely developed, fully realised characters with their own quirks, flaws and unique personalities. I especially loved how incredibly detailed and developed Cody’s (the dog) personality was- it’s this attention to detail that really sets this book apart from others in the same genre!
The next book can’t come soon enough for me!

Thank you, Mr. Nolan!

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I’m hooked. I’m so grateful I have the next installment of the series already downloaded.

The story moves quickly and while it is a story of forbidden love, it is truly about the process of healing. The H and h are both very likeable, the best friends are fantastic and the open door sex scenes were easily skimmed.

I read this book on one sitting and found it enjoyable and entertaining.

Heart of a Hunk is a collection of 24 holiday romances filled with bad boys, billionaires and just all around hunky men. Two of the stories from the collection that i really are called Foxxy Christmas by Allyson R. Abbott and A Kiss Under A Blue Christmas Moon by Tamara Ferguson.

Foxxy Chrismas is about an escort named Foxxy who meets a mysterious man who claims he wants to help her get away from her troubles. Even though they just met, there is an instant connection between them but there’s more to him than meets the eye and Foxxy isn’t the only one running from the past. I adored this book and i would like to read more by this author.

A Kiss Under A Blue Moon is a sweet romance that gives all those Christmas movies they show on tv a run for their money. Noah just returned home from the Air Force with one thing on his mind: Mia. He is still just as much in love with her as the day her left but Mia isn’t so sure she feels the same after all this time. I thought this book was super sweet and i am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future.

If you are looking for a collection of great Christmas reads this is great choice!!
Happy Reading!

While the series says MC, this book didnt really have much to do with anything MC like I’ve read before. It really focused on the story of before and now. We don’t get to see much of how things were before to compare to now.
Summer, who now goes by Kit, came back from war a different person. Now someone is sending letters asking for money other wise their secrets from war will be revealed.
What happens when the truth comes out was very surprising but also needed.
I look forward to more in this series.

The Yates weren’t too crazy. But Callie had a few loose. She ran herself thin just to care for the people around her. Just like being a mom you take on so much and don’t let anyone in to help. Callie has taken care of everyone for years. When do you start remembering that your not alone in life. It takes a lot of courage and love to do what Callie did. The author wrote this story to compel us to think outside the normal and to learn that happiness just needs a little faith.

I enjoyed every minute of reading this book. This story was very emotional, heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time. I loved reading the dynamic between Elena and Weston, it has been so long since they have seen each other and the attraction is still there but they have a lot of past feelings to work out. In the beginning I thought Elena seemed a bit rigid and unfeeling but as the story unfolds you realize that’s not who she is, sometimes we all hide what’s really going on inside. This is a wonderful story of second chances and wonderful characters. The author did an awesome job connecting me to the story and giving me a good emotional read. I highly recommend this book.

That lady was a total witch. I understand wanting to protect your family but she was obsessed and extremely possessive. Victoria needs nerves of steel and an abundance of patience. This story had all the fears women thing about come to life. We all fear disappointment and never being enough. I didn’t like Brad a whole lot. He didn’t show any willingness to put a stop to his mom’s craziness. The author presented this story very well. The author included an softness and warmth but placing Victoria in a position where she had to care for a child that was not her own. A good read for some laughter and crazy.

The Mother-in-Law by Judy Moore
4 out of 5 Stars

This book is the physical manifestation of the fear every girl has when she is searching for her potential life long partner. Evil Mother-In-Law.. Victoria feels that she has got it all. Handsome man, handsome house, handsome life, or so she thinks, until she meets her mother-in-law…who is straight up evil. I mean, there is Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th Evil and then there is this woman. This book is incredibly suspenseful. As the plot thickens and the details unravel, you will find yourself flipping, (or in my case tapping) the pages faster and faster to find out what happens. When secrets of Brad and his Mother start to unfurl, Victoria starts to understand that this isn’t at all what she signed up for when she said Till death do us part.

This author created a very suspenseful and detailed story. I was drawn in from the very first chapter. I loved every last minute of it. Highly recommended.

The Mother-in-Law by Judy Moore was a suspenseful read that kept you on the edge of your seat. At times, I could not turn that pages quick enough to see what was to happen next – I was completely involved in the continuing story. Victoria and Brad had a love that couldn’t be ignored and they both grabbed on to it and pursued that relationship to it’s fullest. The drama immediately begins as they moved forward to spend their lives together – enter the mother-in-law. Judy Moore has given the allure of evil incarnate in this story in the form of a mother-in-law. However, not everyone sees the facade that is seen from the outside. The story continues to build and you really don’t know which way the author will have the story climb to until it all comes to a peak. Truly a well written suspense with a remarkable ending.

Her secret of what happened haunts her and has caused a rift between everyone she loves. Her PTSD from all war related things doesn’t help any and nothing seems to be working to help. Lee her former love doesn’t understand and wants to help. He knows she is keeping secrets but his love for her is deep. I loved both characters and the deep love Lee had for Kit. I was shocked by what she went through. I don’t recommend this book to those who are fain of heart. The torture and things these characters went through in relation to war are very realistic. I loved this novel though and can’t wait to read more from this author.

The Lies We Tell by Brittany Butler – Review by Kerry Baker

The Lies We TellThe Lies We Tell by Brittany Butler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Lies We Tell by Brittany Butler is a book that explores what happens when the lies we tell catch up to us and how the past can effect our future.
Overall for me this was an enjoyable read, although there were times I felt slightly disappointed. For me the blurb built this book up to be so much and I don’t think the story quite lived up to the expectation I set.
However the story was good and well paced and the characters were well thought through. And while it was quite what I expected I enjoyed the story and found myself become invested in it. This is certainly an author I will read again in the future.

Surviving Eden (Surviving Series Book 1) by Virginia Wine – Review by Krista Beck

Surviving Eden (Surviving Series Book 1)Surviving Eden by Virginia Wine
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Surviving Eden is about loss, grief and love. Theodore Grant is a psychologist helping Eden deal with her grief over losing her family. While I found the characters interesting, I would have liked more of their back stories. I felt their back story was just thrown in to the story. I like the attraction between the two, but given the possible fall out that could happen, I expected Theo to put up more of a fight. The story was well written, the story line was good and I will read the next book in the series, as I really liked Alex.

4-stars

Surviving Eden is a fabulous forbidden love romance read! It’s the first book in the Surviving Series and also my first book by this author but it certainly won’t be my last. This book had me feeling all kinds of emotional from beginning until the very end. I was swept up in Theo and Eden’s story right from the get-go and I ended up reading their story in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to put it down.

The storyline flowed seamlessly and there was so much detail that it felt as if I was right there alongside these characters. I was able to connect with them right from the start which really added to my reading experience. I hope to read more about them in the future!

I can’t wait to dive into my next read by this incredible author! And would absolutely recommend this book to others!

4 Stars!!!!

I love finding new author. This is the first book by this author I have read and I was not disappointed. I found the writing style to be refreshing. The book grabbed my attention from the first page and held onto it.

The whole drama surrounding Soumya and Vir is quite electric and that adds to the chemistry between them. I was very impressed that this wasn’t an easy love story but more a complex one. It made this book more realistic and enjoyable. I will definitely be reading this book over and over again. I also would like to read more from this author in the future.

Surviving Eden (Surviving Series Book 1) by Virginia Wine – Review by Karyn Taylor

Surviving Eden (Surviving Series Book 1)Surviving Eden by Virginia Wine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Surviving Eden is the first book in the Surviving Series by Virginia Wine. If this first book is any indication of how the whole series will be then I’m sure that this will be a series that I read many times.
Dr Theo Grant is a highly renowned psychiatrist. With a very difficult childhood behind him, he himself would be a psychiatrist dream to work with. His past has led him to believe that he’s not lovable and he has no intention of settling down with one woman. That is until he met Eden Barnett.
Eden is the adopted daughter of Theo’s best friend Matthew Barnett. When Matthew and his beloved wife are tragically killed, Eden becomes Theo’s patient to help her deal with her grief.
To say that sparks flew when these 2 met would be an understatement. They are both drawn to one another and their connection is fierce.
Can Theo go against one of the very cornerstones of his profession and have a relationship with his patient? Will helping Eden also help Theo deal with the demons from his own past? Can they both heal each other?
In order to answer these questions I would urge you to read this book. These 2 characters are amazingly well written. You, as the reader, get to see right into their souls.
Thankfully, I also have books 2 and 3 on my kindle just waiting for me to devour. I can’t wait to see what Virginia Wine has in store for Theo and Eden and also for their friends and family members who will take centre stage in the rest of this series.

Surviving Eden (Surviving Series Book 1) by Virginia Wine – Review by Erica Fish

Surviving Eden (Surviving Series Book 1)Surviving Eden by Virginia Wine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In the Surviving Series, Surviving Eden is book one by Virginia Wine is a contemporary romance book. This is my first book by this author, and it will not be my last. The characters are fully developed, and the story line is so close to be true that I felt like I was with the characters watching while on Eden’s shoulder. There are some scenes that be a bit explicit for an audience under the age of 18. The story took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Eden and Theo both have had accidents in their past that that had them just going through life without meaning. Will Eden be the answer for Theo and vice versa? Or will the accidents in their lives steer clear of each other?
