Falling Home by Libby Kay is a small-town second-chance romance story. Ginny is back in Buckeye Falls to help her father recover from surgery. While she is there she is roped into helping with the Christmas Jubilee and her ex-husband, Max is her planning partner. I really enjoyed this story. Max and Ginny are awesome and I love the small-town Christmas feel of it all. Libby Kay is a wonderful writer that sets the scene beautifully and makes you fall in love with these characters. This book is like a comfort. It makes you feel warm and content. It is the perfect Christmas romance read.

Dominic Larussio is one bad underboss. He is known to be cruel and to make sure his family is safe. Being so ruthless he has more than he can handle when he meets the beautiful Emelia. She is off limits as she is the daughter of a rival crime family. Emelia is not only beautiful but she has got to be one of the strongest women I have read about in a long time. This story could be a standalone, but I feel you should read the series in order. The author of this book has written one of the most intense stories ever. The story is fast paced and non stop action. The characters are strong and independent for their mafia families. Many feelings will be brought out when you read this book. Be sure to have tissue, chocolate and something to drink as you will not be putting this on down until THE END.

This book is the 2nd book in the Kings Of Screen series but can be read as a standalone. I was unaware of the fact that there had been a previous book in the series before I read this and can say that I did not feel that I was missing any information needed to understand and enjoy this book. It’s set around 4 actor friends and each guy gets his own book, so although there are recurring characters it can be easily read on its own. In this book we get the story of Irish actor Finn McCarthy, forced by his agent to enter ‘Married Blind’ a reality TV series where he meets his bride at the wedding. His bride is Abi Johnson, who is working 3 jobs to pay her sister’s medical bills. Finn assumes she must be a gold digger to take part in such a programme and is resolved to have as little to do with her as possible. Due to the constant filming they are forced together more than he would like, particularly as the more time they spend together, the more he realises just how perfect she is for him. I really enjoyed reading Finn and Abi’s story. Their forced proximity results in some hilarious encounters between the two that I really enjoyed reading. Finn’s sense of humour provides some really entertaining reading. The storyline flows very well and had me pulled in from the very beginning and not wanting to put this book down. Definitely recommend.

Reader’s Thoughts: “Slip into this enchanting small town and stay awhile! You might just fall in love…” I did exactly that reading Falling Home! I was in love with Ginny and Max from the very beginning, rooting for them the entire time. Max loved his diner, had the most amazing cooking abilities, and sure could win a girl over with cheese…..yes cheese! Those enchiladas and grilled cheese had me wishing Max was in MY kitchen. And that red dress…I could only imagine how gorgeous Ginny was when she stepped into it. Makes my heart melt.
This second chance at romance, Christmas miracle was the perfect wrap up to the holidays for me. Libby Kay sure knows how to write, leaving no stone upturned. The story line was seamless, keeping the reader interested and wanting more, no questions unanswered. The characters were lovable, relatable, and down to earth. The story was predictable but did not deter me from continuing on. I can’t wait to see what else Libby Kay has in store for her readers.

Honestly, I’m not sure how I feel about this book. On one hand, the author did a wonderful job world building. The story takes place in a Victorian era. It showed the restrictions and standards that women had to live by very well. The writing and speech fit in with the era. The cursed mill was an interesting mystery to be solved and I enjoyed the paranormal aspect especially the fact that the author used the lesser Fae in her story.
On the other hand, I found the story slow. It failed to grip my attention and keep it. I prefer stories with strong female leads. Although Jessa has certain strengths, I found that she was too scared most of the time and she constantly questioned herself. Seeing as this is a prequel, I believe that she will gain confidence and become stronger as the series progresses. I found it sad that my favourite character was the cat. I believe that there are a lot of readers who will enjoy this book but for me I prefer a little more action and intensity.

This book collection was simply amazing to read. It had a little bit of everything for everyone. From BDSM, to LGBT+, to everything in-between, this world was beautifully created You could tell that the author loved writing this series by the time she took to create the characters and their development in just a few words. I loved reading all six books, and had a book hangover so much to the point where I had to go back and read it all over again just to see if I missed anything. This will forever sit on my bookshelf on my kindle for me to read over and over again!
Jasmine (Jazzy) Hayes is a dedicated business woman in her event planning company, Divine Events. Her business partner, Cadence, is also her best friend. It’s never good to mix business with family or friends and Jasmine is learning her lesson pretty quickly.
James Conner is a bad boy and Jasmine kicked him out of his own parents’ anniversary party. James is incredibly attractive though and keeps coming on to Jasmine. However, he’s engaged to be married to another woman. It’s a crazy business deal, this pending marriage. He’s engaged to Cadence and Jasmine is responsible for planning the wedding. How is Jasmine ever going to plan this wedding with James coming on to her so much?
This novella was enjoyable. There is a lot of back and forth drama involved in the relationships that form/are forming and it times it seemed a little overdone. But overall, an enjoyable read.

Night Hawke is the first addictive book in the new Hawke Family Second Generation series by Gwyn McNamee. It is set 30 years after the original series finished, bringing us back into the fold of the Hawke family. GAH!!!! I Floved this book so hard….. being a HUGE fan of the original series, I was so excited when I discovered Ms. McNamee had plans for a second-generation series, but also a little apprehensive that it wouldn’t match the pull of the original series, let alone come close to the way the original cast captured my heart and etched themselves onto my soul………..but I was WRONG!!! I should never have doubted Ms. McNamee, and I know I have said that before, but I let my doubt get the better of me here. I knew the story would be good because, DUH, it’s Gwyn McNamee. But I was worried that because I had LOVED the original Hawkes with such a fiery passion, that this second generation may not hold a candle to their predecessors. But, I was WRONG……. again!!! If this story is anything to go by, then the new series is set to be AMAZING, and the original Hawkes have some serious competition headed their way. Night Hawke is a short novella length story, a tasty little morsel offered to whet our appetite for the new series. It is the prequel- an introduction as such and an entirely addictive little piece that has left me eagerly anticipating the release of ‘Ruthless Hawke’ (Book #1) and meeting all of the new cast of Hawkes, as well as perhaps catching up with our favourites from the original series. Isaac Hawke has just graduated law school and is out celebrating when he locks eyes on a captivating red head across the bar. Even though he is leaving the city to head home to New Orleans in a few short days, he’s determined to convince her to spend the night with him. This is the first book I have read by Barb Jones, and it did not disappoint. The completely unique synopsis is what drew me in and had me interested. Page one, the prologue, “The Pact” had me hooked. A battle in the kingdom of heaven led by Lucifer, with a horde of demons, had killed countless angels in the throne room. An ultimatum by the Lord himself made Lucifer withdrawal only for him to send a second horde of demons. After using his flaming sword, the Archangel Michael broken by seeing the loss of his brothers and sisters has a plan to project the passage to heaven, to insure it never falls to demons again. The Lord, Lucifer, and Raphael all agree to Michael’s plan, the pact, and agree to provide the demon prince Asmodeus by Lucifer, the archangel Jophiel by Michael and the prophet Elias by Raphael. The Pact requires a sacrifice by both kingdoms, Heaven, and Hell, and only those involved are to know the price that is paid to protect the passage. Michael calls upon Asmodeus and Jophiel ensuring that they agree that they are willing partners when Michael sees the spark between them, and his depths of his pact begins. Brother John 1329 was taught by his parents about hell and the truth of demons being fallen angels by his father and taught about heaven and the archangels by his mother. Went to the monastery at the age of 14, when he would ask about his purpose the monks would always tell him the same line. “You are a special child with a unique purpose, that had adopted parents that loved you.” As a powerful exorcists Brother John only had one demon child that he could never exorcise. But this time was different the demon child taunted Brother John, asking if he wanted to know who he truly was, and questioned the monks on how long they would keep him from his true purpose. After retaliating for the first time again the other monks when Brother John tried to exorcise him, he agrees to go with him to learn the truth. Nearly 700 years later John is still feeling guilty about what the demon child, Edward, his “brother” has told him. Becoming more devote in his religion his demon brother supported him until one day he disappeared leaving a unique blade, one like he had never seen before laying where his brother once slept. Who is Brother John’s demon father? Did the child tell the truth? How is John connected to the Pact made all those years ago? The author does an amazing job building the story and the suspense, keeping you engaged and eager to keep turning the page to learn what will happen next. I hope the next part to this series will be announced soon. The world created, the characters and the story all keep you coming back for more.

This is an interesting, fast-paced paranormal read that includes angels, demons, and a lot in between. I really enjoyed the creative world building and unique spin the author took in this book. Can an unknown demon hunter who is feared by both Angels and Demons be a protector? Sully is a lone demon hunter whose life takes a big turn when he meets Mick and agrees to help her find her friend. I really enjoyed their chemistry and how the characters played off each other. Will both Sully and Mick find their paths and be able to stay on them to complete their destiny or will all be lost? I think this is a nice start to a new series.

I’m giving this book 3.5 stars. I really did enjoy this book, but the characters and toxic relationships have me rating it lower. The “best friend” was one of the worst friendships I’ve ever read. I was wanting to throttle both her and the main character Jasmine the whole time I was reading this book. And the “boyfriend”? He was just as bad as the best friend. The only relationship that wasn’t toxic was the one between Jasmine and her assistant, Carmen. Other than the very blatant toxicity that had me raging at the characters, I did enjoy this book and it was entertaining for what it was.

Let me start out by saying that I did not love the first little bit of the book. But, I do not DNF books and therefore persisted. And let me tell you how glad I did. I am giving it 5 stars despite the rough start for me. That is how good the rest of the book is. I truly loved all the twists and turns in this book and there were some that completely blindsided me. I LOVED all the characters, even the ones that the reader is meant to despise. I thought that they were all well written and made complete sense for the story line to make sense. I do hope that there is going to be more about Jasmine, James and Cadence. This book left on the perfect note for a sequel. I want to see what becomes of these characters, that is how much I enjoyed this story. I definitely recommend it!

Jasmine is a hard working buisness owner who tends to not have time to mess around. That is when she isn’t corralling her crazy BFF. James is from a well to do family with certain expectations that has made him a very unhappy man. They meet and sparks fly, until the ice bucket that is Jasmines BFF/James’s FIANCÉ causes those sparks to need banked. But sometimes you just can’t put out the fire! Great story!!

He discovers his purpose and, along his way, meets Mick who’s friend is missing. He agrees to help the lovely bartender and their story takes you away. This was a great first book and I can’t wait for the second!

Nite Fire: Exit Strategy is an incredible story! This is the first book that I have read/ listened to by C. L. Schneider. From the first word, I was propelled into an incredible action scene and an apocalypse to boot. The action and suspense are present throughout the book. I did not want to stop listening for a minute!
The audiobook quality and the pacing are amazing. Dahlia’s voice is what I expected and her personality shines through. Some of the other male characters’ voices can be a little annoying but overall I thought the performance was great. During some of the intense scenes, the narrator slows down to really provide the needed impact.
Even though there were previous books that I have not read I was able to understand the story and fell in love the with characters. Dahlia is a strong female character lead. The authors’ descriptions of the places and the creatures gave me clear visuals of the world. I love how Dahlias’ shifting is described. I cannot wait to read/ listen to the rest of the series!

I enjoyed this book. It had lots of drama and a very interesting storyline. I am intrigued with stories that have heroes who are demons. I like to think there can be good in all things. Married Blind: A Marriage of Convenience was a great romance book. Finn is one of the “Kings of Screen”, in Hollywood, with a bad boy reputation. He had a relationship that destroyed his image and continued to make poor decisions. His agent thought it would be best to marry a stranger on the show “Married Blind” to improve his image, but he would not be marrying another celebrity. Abi is a woman living in New York taking care of her sister who is in remission from cancer. They need help paying off their medical bills and this show is willing to pay her to marry a celebrity. Both go into the marriage thinking it is a stunt to improve both of their lives, but when both are highly attracted to each other that task becomes difficult. After their honeymoon, they both decide to give it a real try. However, will Abi’s responsibilities lead her away from love, and/or will Finn’s history get in the way of trusting a relationship can work? I just adored the characters in this book, and they had great banter. The spicy scenes were pretty good too. Finn just screamed Hollywood hotty to me! He was portrayed as a playboy, but someone who didn’t want to be. He was honest, but brutal at times. However, when he let his guard down, you could not help but fall in love with him. He loves hard and honestly, but can’t let his past go. Abi is adorable. From the beginning, she is sassy and strong but also caring. However, like Finn, she also can overthink, which leads to miscommunication. I would say that young people should read more books where miscommunication is the main issue – things can be solved so easily if someone just speaks lol!

Falling Home was the first book I’ve read by Libby Kay. Fortunately for me, it is part of the Buckeye Falls series, I truly look forward to reading more from this author. I loved the story of Max and Ginny and the fact that while the story is centered on whether they’ll find their way back to love, it is also a story about family. Having recently lost my mother, I have a great respect for the father/daughter love portrayed in this book. I found the plot to be cozy and light and truly a nice read. It was a great story to kick off my new year!

This is an enjoyable and engaging stand alone romance, which kept me happily turning the pages. Jasmine Hayes runs her company, ‘Divine Events’ and organises events for the social elite. Meanwhile, James is a drunk who has a string of bad business decisions behind him, however, he also comes from the rich Conners family, who are the closest thing to royalty in New England. Two years ago he was told to sort his life out, and now James is about to marry Cadence, and then will be able to get the money he needs to start a new venture. The only problem is that when James meets Jasmine, his fiancé’s best friend and their wedding planner, he recognises her as the woman who he has not stopped thinking about since meeting her.
Jasmine, can’t believe the man that her best friend is marrying is the one who kissed her silly and swept her off her feet. What Jasmine does not know is that James and Cadence have a secret contract, which states they will have a mutually agreeable and quick divorce. I loved the main characters, as they are all likeable and relatable in their own ways. Their relationships come across as very realistic, and they all brought something different to the story. The chemistry between James and Jasmine really came through in the narrative, but I also loved the dynamics between all three main characters. This was a lighthearted and heartwarming romance which had a HEA.

This is definitely an interesting and original read. I was captivated and pulled in this story full of angels, demons, danger, romance, self discovery, and array of characters. As I read on, I was intrigued by Sully’s journey to self discovery. When he met Mick so much more revealed about himself and about her. Sully has been a demon hunter for as long as he can remember and now that he’s finding out more about himself he has to change some of his ways of thinking. I can’t wait to read what comes next. I highly recommend this book.

As a fan of the show supernatural this book really appealed too me. I thought the concept was interesting and quickly became engrossed in what was happening. I thought the characters were all great. Each had their part to play and it felt like they all contributed to the overall story development. This is an author I have only n recently become familiar with but so far I am enjoying her work. This book has been my favourite so far and I am looking forward to the next book.

While this is not normally the type of book I would read, I was not disappointed. This book had a nice flow and kept me coming back for more. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

This was a really enjoyable romance. The author does an amazing job with the characters. The characters are both fun and witty and they have backstories which really make them come alive. This is a story about meeting the one for you but things and circumstances being in the way.
James Conner is know as a drunk. His life has spiralled out of control but now he’s determined to get it back on track and a marriage of convenience seems like a the right idea. Or so he thought. What he didn’t anticipate was meeting the wedding planner and his future brides best friend and sharing a kiss with her that blows his mind.
Jasmine Hayes is a successful business woman. She takes no prisoners and is a straight talker. She runs her business with her best friend so when she gets a call about an emergency she rushes to her aid not realising she would come face to face and lips to lips with the man of her dreams. However there is one problem. He is promised to her best friend and she wants Jasmine to plan the wedding.
So this is where we find our couple. Both feeling the spark between them but unable to do anything about it. Will there ever be a time for them to be together? Will James be able to pull his life back on track and if he can will Jasmine be a part of it? This story is full of laughed and tears which makes it an emotional read that you can’t put down.

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Night Hawke is a fun little read. It’s short and to the point. I can’t wait for the full story. Night Hawke is the Prequel to A Second Generation Hawke Family.
Isaac out with his brother finds a redhead he can’t wait to get to know. A redhead he didn’t give his name to. He didn’t give her his name either. The quote I chose for Isaac is: “Good, me either. I’m going to fuck you hard, Jack. So hard you might not be able to walk to leave tomorrow, but I don’t know how long I’m going to last with the feeling of your bare cunt around my cock. If it’s anything like what your mouth felt like, this is going to be fucking fast.”
Jack is out having fun. She runs into someone who doesn’t know who she is. She doesn’t give her name. She is free for now. The quote I chose for Jack is: “I’m telling you—that smart mouth of yours is going to get you in trouble someday, Nolan.”

Well what a way to start of my reading for 2023! I absolutely ADORE this author and the first book I ever read by her Savage Collison is still by far one of the best books I have ever read and over the years I have been fortunate to read so many of her books so when I saw this one I didn’t even bother reading the blurb I just grabbed it and as usual it was phenomenal! It is a prequel to the Hawke family series and sets the scene between the two characters Jack and Isaac just perfectly and I absolutely cannot wait to read more about them and start this new series. I have no doubt it is going to AMAZING!!

I have to say this book isn’t my usual genre to read but I thought I would give it a go as I’m familiar with the author and have enjoyed her previous work and I have to say this is probably one of my favourite stories from her. The connection between the characters was just amazing, so genuine and real. I could honestly feel the characters emotions pouring off the pages. I could feel the genuine angst they were feeling about what was happening and the way they thought about other involved in the situation as well. It was beautifully written and explored and explained a different type of relationship really well. A definite must read!
This was a really great read. I loved the characters and the idea behind the storyline. I think it was a really relatable story and this made me love it even more. I loved the characters especially Abi, she was such a lovely person and with everything she was going through I really felt for her at times. I think I pretty much fell in love with Finn straight away! He was definitely worthy of that book boyfriend title! There was a great amount of chemistry between the two that didn’t feel forced. I loved the humour in the story and this just made it even more entertaining to read. Although this is the second book in the series it can be read as a standalone and I cannot recommend it enough! A great 5 star read!!

Ever since finishing book 1 in this series I’ve been looking forward to the second and it didn’t disappoint! I love how the author made me feel part of the story and that I was right there with Elinor trying to figure things out. I really enjoyed the angst going on between Elinor and The Duke – the blossoming slow relationship that’s starting between them is a great addition to the story. This was a great novella and I am definitely looking forward to reading more about Elinor in the next instalment!!!
