A one night stand between an attorney and a mystery woman. This book could not get any sexier. You know so little about the two characters, yet you feel like you’ve known them for years. This novel took me less than 3 hours to read. I’m still not sure if that means that it was a short book or if I was too focused on reading to pay attention to anything else. If you are looking for a sexy, mysterious romance, then this is the book for you. I cannot wait to get my hands on the other work by this author, ESPECIALLY the next book to this series. I NEED to find out what happens next!

I have read a few books from this amazing author. She continues to blow my mind on her writing style. This is the prequel to the next generation series of the Hawke family. I was so excited to get this story I stopped everything and started reading it immediately. I was so addicted it only took me a couple hours to read this amazing start to another amazing series.
Hawke just graduated law school and now he has to go into the family business. He has only one more night and he is going to make it count. Hawke spots this beautiful redhead that can’t keep her eyes off of him. He spends the night with the beauty but he never got her real name and when he wakes up she is long gone. Will he ever find her again or will he have to move on without her?

I haven’t read the first one in this series, but if it is anything like Married Blind, I am addicted. The characters are real, the banter is funny, and the feels are many. Couldn’t put this one down. It is fabulous!!!!
Abi is up to her eyebrows in debt due to her sister’s medical bills. She is working three jobs to help pay them but she is barely keeping her head above water. Abi’s sister finds an ad for a new reality show and convinces Abi’s best friend to ask Abi to apply. Abi doesn’t think she will make it but she does. She will marry a stranger, stay married for 3 months, and then determine if they will stay together or get divorced. The things we do for family.
Finn got burned bad by the woman he thought he loved. He turned to the Hollywood lifestyle everyone thought he lived anyway. After his latest scandal, his agent thinks Finn’s reputation needs some rehab. The idea is to show a different side of Finn to the world, a dedicated, caring, steady husband side. Finn agrees to do the show but is not happy about it and doesn’t plan to make it easy for the producers.
Once Finn meets Abi and starts to get to know her, he thinks he could be in real trouble with her. Both Finn and Abi’s baggage keep them from revealing their true selves to each other. When Abi makes a choice because she doesn’t feel like she has any other options, Finn reacts badly and thinks Abi is just like all the rest, a user. What will it take to make these two drop their walls and let each other in?
I can’t wait for Book 3 to see how Abi and Finn are doing. This book was fan-dang-tastic.

I loved it! I want it to be a movie! My Pearl Heart was well written and had such a strong female lead. The author wrote her with so much potential, that the growth displayed throughout turned out beautifully. If you enjoy sweet forbidden romance? This book falls right into your wheelhouse. Jasmine owns an event planning business with her best friend. Reality her best friend brings in the clients and she does all the work. Cadence walks all over her and the business, and Jasmine lets her. This book turns into a book of self discovery for Jasmine, as well as to cut the toxic people out of her life. Along the way she meets James, who she wants but can’t have. Why? Because he’s engaged to Cadence. How does one navigate feelings they can’t act on? Reality, by walking on eggshells around one another. However the author broadcast that connection and that concept beautifully throughout the book. Night Hawke is a steamy short story about two people who anonymously enjoy each other across a weekend. What I mean by enjoying each other is in the physical sense. Jack and Nolan may be their aliases, but their chemistry is off the charts. So will a weekend be enough? The author wrote a fun, hot, steamy, passionate story that I wanted more of. Every once in a while I look for a book like this to read. All the good ones are always short, like this one. They also always leave one wanting more. I might’ve found a new favorite author. Only time will tell. This was my first taste and I’m now planning on looking into other books written by the same author, to see if my hunch is correct. If you want a short and steamy story this book is for you!!

This book is a steamy romance that sets up a forthcoming series that I can’t wait to get my hands on. While I am waiting, I may just have to back up and pick up the first series. This book functions as a standalone, and is great to read just as is, but don’t be surprised if you find yourself wanting more. Isaac and “Jack” meet at a bar, and decide to spend two hot days and nights together, without telling each other their true identities or any other identifying information. What was supposed to be a fun time with plenty of sex and no strings attached doesn’t exactly stay that way, as they both start to feel things they don’t necessarily intend to feel. Then, Jack walks away just as she always said she would, leaving the book on a cliffhanger that makes you want to know more.

I have been trying to focus more on self love recently and this was just the book I needed to read! I learned alot about myself and wholeheartedly agreed with everything DeBlassie writes about. This book is extremely motivational and uplifting with such a powerful message it brought tears to my eyes. This is not the first book I’ve read by DeBlassie, and I am in love with her tone, style and passion. She is wonderfully talented and has an almost ethereal way of writing. This book truly made me more self aware of things I’ve never given a second thought. I am going to take a lot of her advice to heart and “ Do one thing each day” that makes me happy and believe that it is OK to prioritize myself. Thank you so much Maria DeBlassie for telling me exactly what I needed to hear. I really think your book found me in a time where I thought I was lost. This book is a must read!

Isaac is a Hawke, a second-generation Hawke. He has a lot on his plate and a lot to live up to. Did I say he was a Hawke? He graduated law school and now it’s time to be a grown up. Isaac decides that just one night of being care free won’t hurt anyone or cause any problems. Little did he know that even when there is no plan, plans change.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I think anyone interested in the Pagan lifestyle, magic, or a new way of thinking about life will thoroughly enjoy this one.
You can immediately feel the energy and passion the author has when describing the many different topics covered in this book. I had a feeling as if a teacher was thoroughly explaining the subject to me in a way that I can easily comprehend the subject.

This was my first book by this author and while I am unfamiliar with her blog, I am now a huge fan! When I saw this book, I assumed it would be some silly book about how to conjure magic with hocus pocus, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was quite the opposite. I loved her explanations about how to find the everyday magic and how to change your thinking to find the beauty in the mundane. Her explanation of self-care and explaining it is a way to feel connect and to not feel guilty, really resonated with me. I found this to be a motivational and inspiring book to help find not only the magic in your everyday life, but to also find the beauty in it. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking to make a change in their lives.

This was a really good book! This author usually writes paranormal fiction, so this was a surprise getting a contemporary book instead. I really enjoyed having this one set in a non-paramormal type setting! It was a fast paced novel, in a way that not a lot of details were missed out on. This author usually doesn’t disappoint and this book was no exception! I would love to see more books like this on the future!
Son of Asmodeus by Barb Jones. This is the first book in Heaven and Hell series and I really enjoyed it. Its the story of Demons, hell and angels. The story revolves around John Sullivan or Sully who is a demon hunter. He grew up with adoptive parents and he loved them dearly but when he turned 13 they sent him to a monastery for protection. Once he leaves the monastery he goes in to a bar and he meets a girl named Mick the bartender and she asks him for help in finding her friend. While he’s still trying to figure out what his destiny in life is he agrees to help her. While trying to find her friend he finds out he’s a lot more than just a demon hunter. On this journey he finds out his biological father is a Demon King and his biological mom is a archangel. Sully has people trying to kill him and people from the monastery trying to kidnap him. Will he be able to find Mick’s friend and will he survive the journey? Read this fast paced paranormal story to find out!

The Hawke family sure has their drama. This collection follows the lives of the Hawke siblings and their friends. This family regardless of their circumstances comes together in life, love, and friendship. They are guided by the eldest, Savage Hawke who runs dance clubs. Throughout the series of six novels, we learn about each of the characters, their flaws and their strengths. This collection is full of suspense and steamy romance. While I enjoyed the entire collection, Storm’s story, Building Storm was my favorite. For me, this story had the strongest plot and characters. I would recommend this book.
This is a short and steamy read, which is a prequel to a new series featuring the Hawke family. Billionaire heir attorney, Isaac Hawke has a two-night stand with a mystery redhead, the rules, “Two nights. No names. No expectations”. Having graduated law school, Isaac is now ready to join his family’s multi-billion-dollar business, but before he joins the Hawke empire he goes out to have one night to celebrate. Having met a beautiful woman at the bar, he takes ‘Jack’ back to his hotel room for the night, however, this turns into a weekend in bed with her. Having realised that a weekend is not enough with ‘Jack’, he says they should exchange real names in the morning, but when he wakes up ‘Jack’ is gone, and with no real name Isaac has no way of finding her. Meanwhile, the women turns out to be running away from her parents and her life, she just needed one night of freedom but knew it was too dangerous to stay. The chemistry between Isaac and ‘Jack’ literally sizzles off the page and leads to some extremely steamy scenes. This was an enjoyable and engaging read, which had me hooked. As a prequel the story sets up the new series really well, as it left me definitely wanting more, and left so many questions unanswered, especially the identity of ‘Jack’.

This is the second book by Naomi Valkyrie that I have read and once again really enjoyed her writing. It is a short story but doesn’t leave you feeling like you needed more. The characters are so easy to get attached to and it’s so realistic. I love how it’s an uncommonly talked about romance. Definitely a must read.
This is officially my first 5 star book of the year and the moment I saw this authors name I was in no doubt that it was going be! As usually the author has completely nailed it when it comes to incredible writing, amazing characters and a simply unputdownable book. I was hooked from the moment I started reading, just captivated by the story. I was right to leave myself enough time to finish the book in one sitting because I could not tear myself away from what was happening. If you haven’t yet discovered the author or this series then I would urge you to change that today. It is absolutely fantastic and this author is easily one of my favourites.

I have read many books by Maria DeBlassie and this one really spoke to me. It was nothing like I thought it was going to be, but was exactly I what I needed it to be. It felt like a self help type book that really makes you slow down and take care of yourself so you can see the magic in every day life. There are questions to reflect on and I’m really going to think about my answers to them. She was right when she said this book chose me. I’m glad I gave it a shot.

I know this was meant as a treat to those of us who are familiar with the Hawke family, but to me it was a giant tease but in the most pleasurable way.
I have loved this family since the first book with the first generation, and I have a feeling my love for them is only going to grow.
I don’t want to discuss specifics to avoid giving anything away but oh my do I want to talk about them. The pool game is definitely something that stood out.
I cannot wait until February for the series to officially kick off. If you are familiar with this series then definitely add this book to your TBR, if not please don’t waste anymore time and get started at the beginning so you’re ready for this Generation.

Night Hawke is the prequel and the start to The Hawke Family Second Generation Series. I was so excited to see where Gwyn had taken us. It isn’t necessary to read the first generation The Hawke Family Series. It is one of my favourite series and let me tell you that you should start at the beginning. You will definitely not be disappointed even though it is a very, very short read. Just a teasing taste of what’s to come. Gwyn has never let me down and always produces page turners and Night Hawke is just as amazing as the others. It is intricately woven and are very well plotted out. The characters are well developed and hard not to fall in love with. The story is told in different POV’s letting you have more of an insight into these complex people. This Mafia romance tale has plenty to offer any reader, with suspense and tension, oozing chemistry and passion, action, adventure and much, much more. He’s a billionaire heir attorney and she is running from her life. Just one sexy and passion filled night. Or is it? No spoilers here you need to grab a copy and find out what happens for yourself because it is that good. Now I just have to wait anxiously for the next instalment.

From the title, I expected the book to be more centred on paganism and although there was not a focus on pagan practices this book did not disappoint. I loved how the author is realistic in terms of acknowledging that change isn’t easy, whilst still being encouraging to those wishing to make such changes. I also enjoyed the style in which the book was written, it was very easy to absorb and didn’t feel too formal as other similar books have to me. The addition of the author’s own experiences throughout the book made the guidance given more relatable and easier to understand. This went a long way in showing me how I could also be successful in making my desired changes. Although the book references magic, you don’t have to believe in magic or be a practitioner to benefit from reading this book. It offers clear advice and strategies to appreciate the little things in life, take joy in what you do and making time for yourself. Overall, I found this book enlightening and even though I’d heard similar advice (and given it to others) a million times, I had never fully appreciated the impact it could have or felt deserving of such self-care until reading the way it was instructed in this book. The book was very motivational and I’ve already taken steps to make the recommended steps towards rediscovering what excites me in life and start looking after myself.

I’m going to start by saying this is an inspirational book not a book about paganism. In the beginning she states it’s not “hocus pocus it’s more like making soups.” Which sounds great but that’s all you get about paganism, nothing about herbs or crystals, which she mentions charging in the moon, but no other details. She also mentions the practice of saging but only if you’re not appropriating the culture. I wish she would have taken that opportunity to teach about smoke cleansing instead of making it about race. Near the end the author suggests using tarot cards but gives no information about using them. So, if you are wanting to learn about Paganism, look elsewhere. Who would I recommend this book to? People looking for inspiration to change their life. People looking to switch up their routine. I felt this would be a great “new year” book since that is when people make their goals. This is a great book to motivate you to make some goals. Although the author repeats herself many times, (try keeping track of how often she says to drink tea before bed) she has some good points. She encourages self-care and learning how to say no when needed. I liked that she said it’s not easy; I also really enjoyed the questions she asks throughout book. Such as: “What negative patterns am I holding on to? What joys could I replace them with? What am I afraid to embrace?” I think they are great questions to ask yourself and to keep as a reminder throughout the year.

Practically Pagan An Alternative Guide To Magical Living by Maria DeBlassie is a book I wouldn’t have thought to pick up and read – I’m not a practicing magic type of person. However, this book was quite surprising and I made tons of connections within it to my own life. A couple of quotes from the book that spoke to me: “Look for the beauty in the little things too often overlooked in our rush to get from one place to the next.” “The Divine Feminine is the nurturing and creative energy within all of us, regardless of our gener – she represents healthy sexuality and relationships…” This book is about the five major parts of everyday magic… “radical self-care, routine as ritual, pleasure magic, synchronicity, and exploring the energies of the un/expected.” It talks about tuning into yourself and your connection withe universe instead of manipulating things to get desired outcomes… to trust the path you are on is the correct path. As an educator, wife, mother, woman, the idea of self care and self love is so important. So be okay to find the quiet time to focus and practice listening to your mind, body and spirit.
