Disturbing the Peace (Blue Line, #4)Disturbing the Peace by Brandy Ayers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Disturbing the Peace: Blue Line Book Four (Blue Line Series 4) by Brandy Ayers is a suspense romance story and unfortunately is a wrap for this series and is just as good as the other three books if not more. I mean who doesn’t love reading about hot alpha cops and the women who changed their lives. The love scenes in these books are hot, spicy and all so steamy. These books can be read as standalones but I encourage you to read in order so you can enjoy Brandy’s wonderful writing skills but also the characters that leave you in need of a cold shower.

Ana Formosa is one strong, sexy, sassy woman in charge but when she gets burned she and knows just what she needs to move forward.

Justice Reilly didn’t know who this stranger was but he knew he had to have her, just had to have her for one night but one night would never be enough. Would it?

Brandy’s stories engage and intrigue and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next. Definitely a five star read.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Race to Darkness is the first book in the Fatal Dreams series by Abbie Roads and is a paranormal romance. I enjoy reading Abbie’s books and this one did not disappoint me. This dark story has tales of legends, people with powers and a religious cult that you just want to see the same happen to them. You will find yourself going through a myriad of emotions as you walk along this path with these characters.

Isleen Walker has given up on ever being found. She has endured 8 years of hell and no longer has the will to live and she had made peace that death but event that seems to elude her. Nothing will take her away from her living nightmare. The only thing that has kept her alive this long is the belief in her dreams. Dreams that seem so real and yet so far away.

Xander Stone has a gift but if you ask him it is a curse, but if you want information then he is your man. He uses his gift to help catch criminals but the only way for him to survive is by drowning out the noise in his head. Now he doesn’t know why but he is being pulled towards something and can not stop himself. What he finds at his destination breaks his heart and is at a loss for who could have done such a thing.

When the two connect the world is set to right. Being apart is not an option. Is it madness or something much deeper than either of them suspect?

OMG the men in this story need a good slap but they get there in the end and there is a lot of crazy goings on that keeps you glued to the story to see what was going to happen next. I am waiting with baited breath to see what Abbie comes up with next for her next book.

This is a 5 star crazy read.

Fox’s Awakening is the second book in the Enchanted Immortals series by F.G. Adams and is a paranormal romance it can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading Aldin’s Wish first to give you a better understanding of the story. This book is also full of paranormal creatures and continues where the first book left off and is just as fast paced.

It is with that same friend that he now finds himself in the middle of something he does not fully understand. There is change coming, something within, is he crazy or could there be more?

Finally two become one and two become one once again. This has been foretold. Will it be enough to save the one your love, your beloved?

The story is told in different P.O.V.s which I like because you get to understand the characters and get inside their heads.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Impact is the fourth book in the Twisted Hearts Love Story series by Autumn Sand which is a dark romance series. It can read as a standalone but should be read as part of a series. There are lots of twists and turns, pain and heartbreak, betrayal and love and because you are invested in the characters you feel every emotion as you follow them on their journey from the past to the future.

Finally we get to Manny’s story and it does not disappoint and I really enjoyed that it was written in his POV. Manny is a man that has been broken all his life that has been ripe with so much tragedy and betrayal it makes you wonder how he has survived. Sometimes I wanted to smack some sense into him and make he see what was happening right under his nose. Other times I just wanted to hold him and take away all his pain.

Is he ready to let go of the past and move on to a better future? Will he finally realise that the right one has been in front of him all his life? Will he learn to let those that truly love him, in?

I have really enjoyed reading this series and all characters and stories interconnect, which makes reading them much more intriguing and helps to connect you to the characters.

Will they be able to heal and forgive? Can they get back to the love and friendship they once had for each other?

It is a contemporary romance that is lighthearted, funny and refreshing read along with the right amount of drama and intrigue. Mary writes from dual POV and that is one thing I love when I am reading a story as it gives it so much more depth and and insight to who they are.

Second Chances by Roux Cantrell is a story all about getting a second chance at both life and love. This is my first story by this author and it totally broke my heart for what the main character went through but I absolutely loved this story. Roux’s writing style is easy and flows well making you feel every step of the way and the characters are so life like that you will fall in love with them. You will feel a myriad of emotions whilst reading this book. You will find yourself laughing and crying, frustrated and yet hopeful.

Frankie had great friends and life she was happy with until one day turned into a nightmare that she couldn’t wake up from. That one tragic day that changed her life forever. It would be the day she had to fight to survive. The day when she would be broken.

Gauge is a broken man who is fighting his own demons. Demons he can’t keep at bay. Demons that haunt him day and night. Demons that stop him from having a normal life.

Will these two be able to connect? Will the demons keep them from finding what they truly want?

You will find yourself getting lost in this story and hoping for a HEA. Even after finishing this story I was finding myself still thinking about them, the emotions definitely pack a punch. Fisher of MenFisher of Men by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fisher of Men by Phoebe Alexander is the first book in the Eastern Shore Swingers series and is the first book that I have read by her. Phoebe did a good job of writing an interesting story on an alternate lifestyle. Her attention to details and her writing style makes it easy to read and keeps the story flowing and will keep you engaged until the end.

Leah is a professional and knows how to get the job done. You need something, she’s got it. Want something a little different, she’s on it. But when it comes to men and dating, nope, not so much. Leah is also frustrating, to the point at times, that you want to smack some sense into her but she is also funny and very entertaining. If only she would stop running. I found her to be a bit childish given her age and reaction to things but I guess that could be attributed to her upbringing.

Cap is easy on the eye and when he spots the beautiful Leah he starts to think what if’s. However, will his lifestyle scare her off? Will she be open to what he wants to share? Will he be able to give up what he enjoys and keep her too? Will her upbringing cause trouble in paradise?

The story line kept me on edge trying to guess what was going to happen next. Love is never easy but especially so when alternate lifestyles come into play but keeping an open mind and communication should make it easy right? If you like something a little different than your normal romance and something a little taboo, then this is the story for you, it was a very interesting read.

Just one taste and he couldn’t leave it alone. Just one night and he would keep her safe. Just one night and he would make her his.

It is a fantastic read, there is so much depth in this book even better than all the others but not by much. I loved all the other books in this series by Aubrey, because her writing style just flows beautifully giving you a seamless read. The story lines Aubrey comes up with keep you coming back for more and the characters that I adore keep me hooked. As with all her books the secondary characters are just as entertaining as our main characters and I feel every emotion and every step of the way with them.

In this story our main characters Juliette & Mark are complete strangers and they have both had more than their share of issues, problems and heartbreak. Juliette is a force to be reckoned with, she is a whirlwind, that you can’t help but love, she also has no filter and blurts thing out.

Mark on the other hand is the complete opposite in that he is quiet and has been struggling with a loss so profound he doesn’t know how to move forward..

I love this series and I am sad that it has come to an end but Aubrey has left us with a high for the ending with this beautiful story that once again has it has it all. So much emotion from laughter to sadness to heartache that will leave your heart breaking for them. Even though this series has ended I look forward to all future reads from this very talented author.

Ask Me Something (Something, #2) by Aubrey Bondurant – Review by Jenni Bishop

Ask Me Something (Something, #2)Ask Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ask Me Something is the second book in the Something series by Aubrey Bondurant and is a great read, even better than the first and that is saying something as I loved the first one! I love reading books by Aubrey, as I love her style of writing as it flows easily and the story lines she comes up with keep me hooked and wanting to know more about the made for each other couples that I so adore. As with all her books the secondary characters are just as entertaining as our main characters and I am always laughing and crying right along with them.

In this story our main characters Sasha & Brian have worked together for years in the advertising industry and are the best of friends. When a promotion comes along she takes it but it means she has to move away and makes him her boss. Sasha’ may be a force to be reckoned with in the business world but on the inside she is fighting a secret she has never told anyone.

Brian is the complete opposite in that he is so laid back and easy going until he is in the bedroom, then things get to sizzling with this hot and sexy alpha male.

I absolutely love all the witty remarks and the easy banter between all these characters and their loyalty and friendships. When these men love they love hard and fast and set the sheets on fire. I look forward as always to all future reads from Aubrey as is one talented author.

I give this book 5 stars.

Best of my Love by N.D. Jackson – Review by Jenni Bishop

Best of my LoveBest of my Love by N.D. Jackson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Best Of My Love: (Love in Emerald Creek) by N.D. Jackson is the first book I have read by this author and is a lovely contemporary romance story. This story draws you in and with the characters being well written it had me hooked me from the very beginning. So much so I didn’t want to put down. The author did a great job making me feel exactly what the characters were going through, so much so that my emotions all over the place. You will find yourself laughing, feeling sad and frustrated right along with them.

Our main character in this story is Dre who is a sassy but successful woman who takes no prisoners and says things without a filter making you crack up with laughter. Dre was hurt and has vowed it will never happen again. But when she comes face to face with her old flame will she give him another chance or will old wound run too deep? Will they get a second chance at love?

Grab a copy and settle in for a good read.

Witch Hunter (Rise To Power) by Dawn Doyle – Review by Jenni Bishop

Witch Hunter (Rise To Power)Witch Hunter by Dawn Doyle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Witch Hunter: The Rise to Power by Dawn Doyle is a wonderful fantasy story that sees you getting lost in a world where there is a myriad of mystical and magical characters. I have a passion for fantasy books where you get drawn into different worlds full of witches and magic and Dawn has done a great job doing just that.

Diana is just an ordinary girl living in an ordinary world or so she thinks, that is until one night when finds her world turning upside down. Everything she thought she knew and everything she thought she had known changed in the blink of an eye.

Dante has his mission and if not followed certainly means death. Prophecies as revelations mean the end of his world and would mean the end of all he has worked towards. Being a hunter means bringing about the end to all those who could destroy it all.

Dawns imagination has cleverly crafted a story that has you turning page after page to find out what happens with these magical creatures and hoping against hope that good can triumph over evil. When friends turn into foes and foes into friends who can you trust?

This is the first book that I have read by this author and and it certainly won’t be the last as I look forward to reading more of her stories full of witches, magic, and love.

This is a five star read.

Rhapsody in Red by Mila Waters – Review by Jenni Bishop

Rhapsody in RedRhapsody in Red by Mila Waters
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Rhapsody in Red by Mila Waters is a very short story but it is a good paranormal romance story that is full of longing, grief and passion. Mila Waters has crafted a tale that intrigues and compels and has you enjoying every word. It would be good to see this story grow into a full book.

Calix has known loss so great that he is unable to move on with his life. He also holds a secret that none know except for those within his close circle. Vivienne knows that she has what it takes to get close to the elusive CEO and his mysterious company but when they meet sparks fly and they both get more than they bargained for.

Even though this is a great quick read it is well worth it. This story will have you engaged and captivated. I look forward to read more of Mila’s stuff.

This is a four star read.
