Hopelessly Devoted (Bayou Devils MC Book 1) by A.M. Myers is a suspense, thriller romance and A.M. has once again hit the nail on the head with her written words. ​The characters always easy to relate to and have a depth to them that helps to feel as they do. Even though there were thrills and chills the female characters often had me laughing and shaking my head, especially Izy, boy that girl has no filter. And who can resist sexy alpha biker men who just happen to be loyal, loving and sexy but throw in some crazy madmen and wow all hell breaks loose and with a major twist that you don’t see coming it made for a great read. I certainly want this MC by my side.

Shifter’s Pride by Laura Hawks is the second book in the Spirit Walker’s Saga. It is a shifter, supernatural, paranormal thriller, with some steamy romance. Laura has set the scene over many many years from the 1800’s to current. The story goes back and forth through the years, and Laura has included some great history from those times. Multiple murders from the past seem to fit recent murders and one person seems to be linked to them all, but who is the serial killer and why are they targeting people know to one person? Will they be able to keep those they love safe whilst trying to catch a killer? It is an intriguing and engaging story that keeps you on your toes and the many twists and turns you don’t see coming.
Prepared to be thrilled!

The Dahlia Trilogy (The Gilded Flower Trilogies Books 4-6) by Vivian Winslow is a compilation of 3 books and is a spin off from the Gilded Flower Series. I recommend reading the first three books (although not necessary) in the first series, so you know who is who and get a better understanding of the characters.

In book one, Blue Dahlia, we see Dahlia trying to move on in life but to do so she must confront her past. However, confronting her past means facing things long buried but definitely not gone.

In book two, Black Dahlia, I was thrown for a loop, Ms. Vivian had other ideas about what was going to happen to where I thought they were going, boy did she do a good job. Now I was glad that this was a trilogy and the next book, Red Dahlia, was just there waiting for me to get
in to and find out more.

Book three, Red Dahlia, well what a ride and what a finale. My emotions are all over the place from the beginning of this trilogy I cried and yelled, laughed and loved, hoped and found myself frustrated and sighing at times. Vivian is very good at throwing in a twist here and a
turn there that you may not want to see but is necessary to the story. Her accomplished writing skills and plots are flawless and keep you intrigued and engrossed. On to the Violet series.

Will they be able to work together to track and kill the evil that is haunting their city and keep those they love safe? It is an intriguing and engaging story that keeps you on your toes with the many twists.

Stepping It Up is the second book in the Liberty Lawrence series by Bea Stevens. It is a very witty, funny and very entertaining story and I really enjoyed it. I found myself laughing out loud at some of the thoughts and actions of our main character, Libby. She is a breath of fresh air, her inner musings, just gold and the situations she found herself in, cracked me up. Bea did a great job of putting this story together and providing entertaining from the start to the end. Libby and the other characters were fresh and engaging. If you want a little something to tickle your fancy then grab this book. I look forward to reading more from Bea.

Whiskey Dick by Ryan Ringbloom is every bit as fun, witty and crazy as the title. Ryan has done an excellent job on this short story and the characters and their shenanigans and banter just cracked me up. It is sweet and steamy and will have you laughing out loud each and every step of the way. If you need a little pick me up then Whiskey Dick is just what you need. I can’t wait to see what else Ryan has in store for this series.

Tightrope: Book 2 by Maddie Wade ​is just as good as the first book if not better. I think I need me a Hunter. Like the first book this one equally evoked many many raw emotions. The story is told in dual POV, which I just love because you get so much more depth from the characters and what is going on. This is a short heart wrenching, heartbreaking, heart aching story that just blows you away. After finding out all the lies and pain and suffering was the work of an evil man who hid it well, is shocking. Suffering by those same hands is unthinkable. Losing everything you just found is unbearable. OMG this story is sooo good. Maddie knows how to write a story that you can not put down and the plot will blow you away.
Tissues are a given, a couple of stiff drinks are a must and will help you navigate this story without a full on heart attack.

Tightrope (Tightrope Book 1) by Maddie Wade is just Wow. I started reading it and had to leave to go to work but I couldn’t stop thinking about it. It evoked so many emotions in me that I felt a little drained and a lot frustrated by the time I had finished it. It  ended on a cliffhanger that had me gaping like a guppy at what just happened. The  story is told in dual POV, which I just love because you get so much more depth from the characters. It is a short heart wrenching but pull a punch story line that has a dark and terrible twist that just has your emotions so raw.
I suggest you make sure you have the second book on hand to start as soon as you finish the first. Oh and a good stiff drink will also help with the heart palpitations.  Enjoy!

Never Fear the Reaper (A Never Fear the Reaper Series Book 1) by Ashley Pagano is an original read that is full of non stop action and the paranormal/supernatural. What happens when you cross humans and ghosts, poltergeists and demons? Fun, yes fun, helping them move on in some cases but making them move on is the more difficult task. The witty banter, the sarcasm, the unusual and the romance make for one interesting and engrossing read. The Reaper has never looked so good and what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. The main characters find themselves up against some heavy hitters and in more danger than they thought possible but can they survive or will they need unsuspecting help?

Never Fear the Reaper is a well written page turner with nonstop action so if you love supernatural/paranormal then you will love this.

Taken by Surprise the Marcy Series by Linda Burson is the seventh book in the series and picks up where the last one left up. I have really enjoyed reading this series and gotten to love the characters. The family dynamics is intriguing and complicated but it works for them and is ever evolving. Sometimes I want to smack some of them and in this one it was Brad, who sometimes I think he takes Marcy for granted and he keeps doing the same thing and being sorry. I am a little confused with Marcy and her strange behaviour, it really wasn’t explained so I hope we get it cleared up in the next installment. As usual Linda has written a story that grabs at you and reels you in as you journey along with these wonderful characters and their unique family and friends. There is lots of laughter and misunderstandings, love and secrets, friendships and miscommunication but for all that it is interesting and believable.

Now I am eagerly awaiting the next book.

Truth Seer (Truth Seer Trilogy Book 1) by Kay L. Moody is a y​oung adult sci fi, action, adventure, fantasy story and ​is an interesting read. When you live in a world that is full of people who have different talents and you thought you knew truth from lies, but what happens when it turns out it is not always as it seems. Everyone’s version of the truth may be truth to them but not to you. Someone’s version of the truth is a way to make others feel better. In the midst of fear and the unknown sometimes you start to see what has always been there, you just never stopped to really look. The premise of the story is original and Kay’s narrative is very descriptive of the world in which she has created but for all that I felt it was lacking in exposing the full potential of the characters growth and their gifts but this didn’t detract from the overall story line which kept you engaged.

Behind the Manor Door Lies The Reckoning by Debbie Zello is a historical romance story and tells us of a period in time about slavery set in America. I enjoyed the history of the story but found the slavery and treatment appalling but I know this is what happened back then. Debbie evoked some pretty powerful emotions in me as I read along, page after page, unable to stop to put it down. The story felt very realistic. I was really invested in every outcome. I loved Meli, our strong willed lead who was continually beaten down but was able to slowly build herself up and stand up for and protect those she had come to love, no matter their race or colour. This is a very powerful story that should be read by all.

The Dirty Rooster by Kelly Mooney finds our main character, Preston, living up to his name and many more. Preston the promiscuous. Preston the P.I.G. Preston the Player. I am sure I could come up with more but I am sure you get my drift. Summer on the other hand was sweet and fun. Together, well, getting together is more difficult than ever. Kelly wrote characters with flaws and they are funny, witty and delightful. I was sorry to see it end so soon, I wanted more of Preston and Summer. But I look forward to reading more from Kelly

I Can Kill by Angela Kay is crime thriller that draws you in and the suspense is so thick  you could cut it with a knife. I was on the edge of my seat as I watched the game play out where lives are at stake and has become one man’s obsession. This story is one where you are sitting with the main players of law enforcement trying to puzzle out who dunnit. This well written story is a definite page turner with lots of twists and turns that keeps you guessing. The characters are complex but believable and the story line is well written. The story is fast paced and jammed packed to the brim but in no way did it feel rushed. I enjoy a good murder mystery thriller and Angela hit all the good spots with this one.

Famished by Meghan O’Flynn is very very dark and twisted serial killer mystery thriller story that contains very disturbing and extremely graphic scenes and may cause  triggers in some. This style of story may not be for everyone and certainly not for the  faint of heart. But for all that it is sickening and perplexing, gruesome and in parts repulsive, Meghan did a really good job at keeping me guessing right to the very  twisted and creepy end. The story is told in several POV’s and I am still a little confused  at some parts but soldiered on.  At the end I just sat there and went wow, what did I just read and how do I feel? I still can’t answer how I feel but the story is well written and  the characters are disturbing and damaged and the shock factor is off the charts.

Brody (Default Distraction Book 1) by A.S. Roberts is a beautiful romance story and one that will keep you thinking about the book long after you have put it down. This is the first story in the series and if the others are like this then sign me up but do it quickly as I hate waiting. A.S. has written a winner with her amazing characters and vibrant details that make the story pop off the page. It’s the little things that count and A.S. does it so well. The main characters just ooze that sex appeal, I mean who doesn’t love a Rockstar, one who you become their whole life. And let me tell you the romp between the sheets and anywhere else is sooooo sexy and steamy and boy, I will just step out for a ciggy to cool down. Trust me ladies you do not want to miss this one.

Unintentional (Intentional Series Book 2) by MK Harkins is a quick and easy read and is  a romance with a twist same as the first book in the series. You need to read the first  book first as the characters are the same and the stories crossover. It is an enjoyable  read where love does not come easy and leads to betrayal. MK builds an interesting  story where you know something is going to happen but you have no idea what until  the very last minute. The story line flows nicely and keeps you intrigued and engaged  and the characters are lovble and believable and told in each POV’s. Can’t wait to see  wait comes next.

My Fake Vegas Boyfriend (Viva Las Vegas Book 1) Lori Sizemore is an emotionally charged story and the plot was well thought out even if I did want to strangle a few people, ok mainly the parents but still. Layla has always had to deal with verbal abuse which lead to destructive traits and lack of self worth even though her character is extremely strong and fierce she is still a broken woman. I really really hated to see her go through what she did but it was gratifying seeing her get through it all with someone finally on her side. Lori has done an exceptional job on this story and I absolutely loved it. My Fake Vegas Boyfriend is a powerful romance story that is so different from the norm but a welcome change in direction. I highly recommend this book!

The Blogger and the Hunk by Jane Matisse ​is a standalone contemporary romance told in different POV’s of our main characters. The story is interesting and flowed easily and is well written. Whilst I enjoyed the story I was a little disheartened with the overall thoughts on what a woman should look like as expressed by our male characters. I really wanted to shake and wake them to the real world. I also felt that the sister was a bit self absorbed and had no clue what was happening around her. But what I loved was that our main character finally finally found their self worth. In the end it all came together and is a sweet romance story.

Awakening Avery (A Second Chance Romance Book 3) Laurie Lewis is a beautiful second chance story. The story is one of healing and finding yourself after the death of your other half after being with them for many many years. This heartfelt and thought provoking story is moving and evoked many emotions as we travelled along with our main character as she struggles with her grief and subsequent depression and inability to move forward. Along her path of rediscovery and healing she meets many characters who are grieving and like her many are struggling to find that sense of purpose in their life. I must admit it took me a while to get into the story but once I did I became invested in each and everyone of the characters.

I look forward to reading other things from this author

Found in Understanding: Refuge Series Book Three by Debbie Zello had me in tears. Not just tears, heart wrenching ugly sobbing tears, I thought is she mad. Why would you do that, but has I read further it all became clear, even though I am still thoroughly devastated. I enjoyed the story which was very emotional as we watched a young child grow into herself, life, love and loss. But I also found myself laughing out loud. ​The story kept me engaged and I loved the main characters and I think this has to be my favourite book by Debbie. She always writes stories that evoke strong emotions and you know it is a good book when that happens.

This is absolutely one story that should not me missed. Beware you will need a box of tissues to make it through.

Belleza and the Brute: A Modern-Day Retelling of Beauty and the Beast by Jane Matisse is the first book I have read by this author and boy it is a good first impression. Belleza and the Brute is a contemporary romance story but is also a second chance tale one that I loved reading. The characters are caring and compassionate, faithful and loving. One though has lost his way after a traumatic event and just needs the love and understanding of someone wonderful to hopefully help him find his way. You will find yourself caught up in many emotions that pull at your heartstrings. Pain and hurt, loss and torment, love and caring will see you wanting to reach out to help. The chemistry is sexy and smoldering you will need a cigarette by the time you have finished. LOL.
If you love romance and second chances then this is a book that you don’t want to miss out on.

Luke (The McKades of Texas #3) by Kimberly Lewis is a sweet contemporary romance story. It has a wonderful mixture of horses, cowboys, and romance. I was drawn in and didn’t want to put it down until the last page. I mean who doesn’t love a beautifully written and sexy smexy cowboy romance. The chemistry between the main characters and their undeniable attraction steam up the pages. She’s known what she’s wanted since she was little. He’s only just realised that she is no longer a little girl. I loved the teasing and the way they interact with each other and it had me laughing out loud. Of course there is a little twist that throws everything in to question but this is a beautiful romance you will not want to miss out on. I am looking forward to reading the next book in a series.

Primal Will: Book 3 of the Alterations Trilogy by Jane Suen os the last book in the trilogy and a quick read short read but one that pulls a punch. The story picks up right where the last left us so I highly recommend you read the first two books in this series, which are also short reads, to make sure you know what is going on because you will find yourself lost with who the characters are and what is going on. Jane’s writing style and her plots keep you engaged every step of the way. Dr Kite is in the forefront of the story once again but is he still evil or will he trade it in a become Mr Nice?

To find out you will just have to read this trilogy. I wonder what Jane has in store for us next.

Taking down the bad guys in the process is no hardship. Once again Lynda has written a story that is full of mystery, intrigue and suspense and twist and turns you don’t see coming. If I had the need the Raven group would be where I turned. So excited to see what comes next.

Nursing Myself Back: (A Tryst of Fate Series Novel – Book 3) by Kara Liane It is a second chance romance where love between an older woman and younger male makes for some steamy moments. It is written in different POV’s and it will have you laughing out loud reading the males POV, Kara did a truly brilliant job at portraying the male mind. I truly loved this story so much I wish that it was way longer, because I could not get enough of these characters. Kara did a great job of making the story believable and real. There was a slow dance in coming together which made me frustrated but when they did boy did it light up.

A Snow Covered Nightmare: Refuge Series Book Two by Debbie Zello​ is a great and well written story. It blew me away and kept me turning page after page and intrigued every step of the way. I loved the main characters and they often had me laughing so hard, tears were flowing. The story starts of with a bam and continues all the way pulling you in more and more word after word. Falling in love with the characters was as easy as the flow of the tale. This story has mystery and suspense, romance and murder, heartbreak and love. It is a bit of an emotional ride when doing the right thing is so wrong and painful. Debbie has written a wonderful story with believable characters that will captivate you.
This is definitely one story that you don’t want to miss out on.
