Queen of Hearts (Heels, Rhymes & Nursery Crimes Vol. 21) By Natalina Reis – Review by Shai Flores

Queen of Hearts (Heels, Rhymes & Nursery Crimes, #21)Queen of Hearts by Natalina Reis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this novella. It is part of the Heels, Rhymes, and Nursery Crimes series, but I had not read any of the other books. I actually did not realize it was part of a series until I had gotten it on my Kindle. I was drawn to the book because of the gorgeous cover and it did not disappoint. This quick, fun read puts a twist on a commonly known villain, the Queen of Hearts. She is truly a hero in disguise as she works to avenge the women of the city and retaliate against the men that harm them. A strong female lead character, a mysterious man, a brave goal, and a sinister villain are elements that help make this a great read.

This was a really good read! I was a little confused at some of the sports jargon, but that was minor. It didn’t affect the story any. I had some trouble with all the characters, I feel like if I had read the other books in this series it would have helped but again, it had no affect on the story and didn’t really matter much. I do wish I had some of the background though. This was a very romantic, sweet and sometimes funny sports romance. This is the first book I’ve read from this author before and I wasn’t disappointed. This was an easy read which also made it go by quickly. I would definitely read more from this author in the future!

Castor’s Kiss (Soul Bonded in the Stars Book 2) by Tai James – Review by Heather Watson

Castor's Kiss (Soul Bonded in the Stars # 2)Castor’s Kiss by Tai James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have to say this is this the first time reading this author. I wish I had the first installment of this series, with that said I still jumped into this book and really enjoyed it. This author created a world that was understandable without reading the first book. It was easy to fall in love with these characters. Mia is a well-developed character, and one of the best female main characters I’ve read. Castor being put in Mia’s world adds to the twists and turns in this book. I will be going back and reading the first book as well as other books to come from this author.

Saved by Love (Bellevue Bullies #7)Saved by Love by Toni Aleo
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow! Just wow! I wish there was more! This book had a cutesy love story, while still focusing on real life issues. I enjoyed that this story was about two people who go through life and have to learn to make the most of it. This book did not follow the typical stigmatism in my option (which I loved). Both main characters are people who are working on themselves and it’s never truly one sided. A big breath of fresh air! Also there was one line in this book that really spoke to me as well for my own personal life – “The only thing
you can change is your mind-set. Can’t
change the universe and how it is constantly
trying to f-y0u. But you can change how
you view it, how you allow it to make you
feel. You are in control of your mind-set.” . I think I got goosebumps the first time reading it that I read it over two more times. I truly enjoyed this book, and I love that line. I know what my new mantra will be when I’m similar situations.

Devil's BreathDevil’s Breath by Lang Johnson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was completely drawn into this book as soon as I started reading and I couldn’t put it down. Sera is a brilliant chemist, beautiful, and an assassin. Sera’s biggest weakness is her abusive father. Sera will do anything for her father to try to make up for the sacrifices she feels he made for her. Cassius is Sera’s new mark but it’s not as cut and dry as she originally thought. Cassius is smart, attractive, rich, and an all around good guy. There is a lot of chemistry between these two and their banter is so fun to read. There is action, deceit, great characters and so much more in this story. I highly recommend this book.

Castor’s Kiss (Soul Bonded in the Stars Book 2) by Tai James – Review by Jenique Bornman

Castor's Kiss (Soul Bonded in the Stars # 2)Castor’s Kiss by Tai James
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I absolutely love a strong, asskicking, take no prisoners FMC. Mia delivers, but not only that she also has a soft side. Even strong women need to be loved……that’s when we meet Castor, her soul mate.

The thing that I loved most about this book is the suspense. Everytime you think, okay now she’s saved BAM, something new and more terrible happens. Great second book from an amazing series.

I am typing this with goosebumps and happy tears in my eyes. This novel could be the reason my emotions are on high alert lately, that’s for sure. You better believe I have added the rest of the Bellevue Bullies series to my TBR list for the summer. It pulled at my heartstrings when it came to a few different topics, especially the support it shows for those that have a mental health and developmental difficulties. This author is incredibly talented, and I am not surprised that she is highly recommended in the literary world.

I fell head over heels for Evan, and for Callie, both in different ways. The issues that Evan deals with aren’t unheard of, but more than that, it’s so important for people that suffer to find their support system and believe in themselves, and eventually, to be able to love themselves without doubt. I love how his story was told, and how beautifully Callie was able to support his progress throughout, while her story and his support were given to make sure that they both became the best version of themselves they could be. Beautiful character building, heart-string pulling, and I literally couldn’t stop reading it. (Could also why my emotions may be on high alert.) Highly recommend and look forward to more by her!

Castor’s Kiss (Soul Bonded in the Stars Book 2) by Tai James – Review by Amy Brennan

Castor's Kiss (Soul Bonded in the Stars # 2)Castor’s Kiss by Tai James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It has been a long time since I’ve read anything space bound, and it definitely felt like it was a nice change of pace, while still including the necessary romance I crave, the suspense, and the action that will keep readers turning the pages through this whirlwind adventure. I thoroughly enjoyed the way that the characters are depicted, described and allowed the reader (me) to be able to see what Mia and Castor saw, while remaining connected to the overall story line.

Mia’s past traumas have made it extremely difficult to put trust in many, and to allow for her walls to come down and let people in. I found that to be very easy to relate to, and the strength that her character has, and embraces is incredible. It made it very enjoyable to follow her journey to find her people, and to connect with those around her again, while protecting all she needed to protect. Not to mention the patience and efforts that Castor put into protecting, fighting alongside, and ultimately encouraging Mia to live her life again. I found it to be a very well written story, and I will be going back to read the first installment in this series soon!

Castor’s Kiss (Soul Bonded in the Stars Book 2) by Tai James – Review by Skylar Daniels

Castor's Kiss (Soul Bonded in the Stars # 2)Castor’s Kiss by Tai James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book that I have read from the author, and I was not disappointed. The author’s writing had a way that drew me from the very first page of the book to the very last word on the last page. I’ve never been much of a sci-fi romance reader, but this book quickly changed my perspective. I loved reading Mia and Castor’s story. They are an amazing couple are soulmates that make everyone feel jealous.
Kidnapped. Tortured. Left for dead.
The fact that Mia Grey has survived is nothing short of a miracle. Now, every day of her life is a battle. Thrown into the arena daily, she fights to the death against others imprisoned as she is.
She’s become a crowd favorite.
A darling to the masses.
Still, she dreams of escape.
The opportunity presents itself when the tall, dark, and mysterious Atlantean, Castor, comes striding into her life. He claims to be sent to save her, but Mia has endured too much to blindly trust him. Her doubt works against them and ensnares the two in the ultimate challenge.
Out of options, the pair must form an alliance if they hope to survive. Amid the battle for their lives, they find the bond of fated mates growing between them.
I look forward to reading more book from this author in the coming future.

The Prospect of Death (An Alyssa Chalmers Cozy Mystery) by Carmen Radtke – Review by Ashley McMillon

The Prospect of Death (Alyssa Chalmers mysteries, #2)The Prospect of Death by Carmen Radtke
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Alyssa Chalmers is an incredible main character! I found myself taking my time as the scene was built up in the book, and then it took off quickly! The determination and do good mentality of Alyssa kept my pages turning. I was thinking the book was going a totally different direction with how secretive Alyssa was at the start, but then the rest of the story proved otherwise! I love to read a story based on a historical time, and the author sets the scenes very well in this book. I found myself so excited with every chapter to see what Alyssa would cleverly do to save her friend from persecution. I realized after I started to review this book that i did not read book one and I’m looking forward to finding more about Alyssa and all the future brides! One thing I really enjoyed is this story is an original and kept my attention.

Castor’s Kiss (Soul Bonded in the Stars Book 2) by Tai James – Review by Katrina Evanochko

Castor's Kiss (Soul Bonded in the Stars # 2)Castor’s Kiss by Tai James
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Mia is a slave, kidnapped, tortured, and left for dead only to be found and sold into what is basically gladiator fights. She is a strong woman, who continues to fight while waiting for a chance to escape. Castor’s best friend, Phoenix, found his fated mate in book 1 of this series, and Mia is her best friend. Castor is searching for Mia, and finds her where she is fighting.

I loved Mia’s character. She is strong determined, and didn’t give up. I like that she didn’t immediately trust Castor – she has been through a lot and for her to automatically trust someone would be out of character. Castor fought his attraction, but when he decided he was in, that was it, not turning back. The two went though crazy times to escape and get back to their friends, and it was an interesting and exciting story.

Blood & Vengeance (The Casket Girls Book 2) by A.D. Brazeau – Review by Skylar Daniels

Blood & Vengeance (The Casket Girls #2)Blood & Vengeance by A.D. Brazeau
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The is the second book in the Casket Girls series and it is also the second book that I have read from the author. I honestly loved this book. I was not able to put the book down until I had finished it from the beginning to end. Blood & Vengeance is a dark, paranormal romance that takes place in 1728 New Orleans
Desiree knows one thing – the vampires must die.
After being freed from the nightmare of being a casket girl, Desiree is ready to take on the remaining nest of vampires still feeding on the citizens of New Orleans. She and Theron, lonely with his love in the Underworld, partner together to root out, and slay, the last of the bloodsuckers.
Jaxon, a vampire ready for a new life, joins Theron and Desiree as they finish off the vampires. His only request – for Theron to teach him how to survive without killing. As Jaxon falls for Desiree, he must also fight off his past, a formidable witch called the Mistress who wants Jaxon back at all costs.
I’m excited to see how to author continues this series and to read more of the books in the near future.

Castor’s Kiss (Soul Bonded in the Stars Book 2) by Tai James – Review by Jess Dimmock

Castor's Kiss (Soul Bonded in the Stars # 2)Castor’s Kiss by Tai James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

An interesting new take on a Science Fiction Romance. I’ve read quite a few Sci-Fi Romance novels, but this is the first time I’ve encountered a Romanesque Gladiatorial style one. James blends the past and future ridiculously well here.
Our leading lady has endured tragedy, horror, and torture all before being sold into slavery to a Xaranthian. At our opening, Mia has endured so much, yet realizes that she’s lost something. She chooses to re-embrace her humanity and try to rescue her “partner” in the current gladiatorial match. A female with almost no combat skills, and as one of the top fighters in the arena Mia is Done.
Castor, our lead hunk, has come to rescue Mia in the stead of her crewmates. Crewmates Mia thinks are dead. Only he winds up tricked and set-up by Throl, Mia’s owner and entered into the gladiatorial games as well.
Our two wind up finding a great deal more than either bargained for as they fight to survive and escape. This one is a really fun ride and has a wonderful mix of history and futuristics, along with a stellar cast.

Castor’s Kiss (Soul Bonded in the Stars Book 2) by Tai James – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Castor's Kiss (Soul Bonded in the Stars # 2)Castor’s Kiss by Tai James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Castor’s Kiss is the second book in the Soul Bonded in the Stars series. Following on from the previous book, we catch up with Mia who is being held captive and made to fight in a deadly arena. Castor is sent to rescue her, ahead of Keira and Phoenix, but the rescue mission turns out to be a lot more complicated than anticipated and Castor and Mia have to fight to survive long enough to make their escape.
This is an interesting play on the soulmate trope. Neither Castor or Mia are particularly looking for a soulmate – in fact, Castor has been actively supressing his instincts to search out his soulmate. And it’s a really inconvenient time, as both need to be focused on fighting and developing as a team. They have to learn to make it work, and not let their feelings distract them from the task at hand.
Soul Bonded in the Stars is a vibrant sci-fi romance series with wonderful settings and characters. In Castor’s Kiss, I particularly liked De’ara, who Mia initially dismisses as incapable of fighting and in need of saving. De’ara gets a chance to prove herself and show what she can really do.
I would recommend this series to sci-fi fans. It is probably worth starting with the first book, Phoenix’s Touch, to get to know the world and characters and to enjoy Keira and Phoenix’s story. Castor’s Kiss gets five stars from me!

I very much enjoyed reading this book! I had not read the previous stories, so it took me a bit to organize all of the characters, but once I did, everything flowed nicely. I love the focus on mental health and especially men’s mental health with a focus on athletes. My heart broke for Evan trying to work through his mental blocks, depression, and anxiety. While I don’t have a lot in common with a former pro male athlete, it was nice to see that other people struggle with the same internal negative voices. Callie was an amazing support to Evan and it was so sweet seeing how they support each other’s dreams and goals. This was definitely a very sweet and steamy book that I recommend for sure! I look forward to checking out the previous books and the rest of the series!

Castor's Kiss (Soul Bonded in the Stars # 2)Castor’s Kiss by Tai James
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really liked reading this book, and enjoyed how different it was from other Sci-Fi romances!
The author gave us characters that meshed well together, and you really got a chance to see them develop together.
Mia was amazing. Her character left an impression on you from the start because her journey was one that was mentally and emotionally trying. Cast into slavery and then made to fight for her life daily in an arena she only become stronger. A hardened woman to survive but never once displayed a lack of heart. When she and Castor are put together to fight she finds a partner in the arena and out. The mate bond between them is intense with a chemistry that can’t be fought. Together they are equals and so much more.

Along with the loving story of Lukes daughter Esme an the beautiful things he does for Nadia just make it a wonderful love story and great read.  Cant wait to read the 3rd book.

One of the things that popped for me was this author’s writing skills and attention to details. I enjoyed how the author was able to pull me into the story from the start and made the story come to life. The characters not only have great growth throughout but they are also relatable. They are strong, supportive characters that truly made the story for me. The chemistry between them had me coming back for more. A story where taking a shot is not the only thing fate has in store for these characters. This is a great story that I enjoyed and I highly recommend it

There are twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and had me on the edge of my seat. A story where love will either survive or will it be the weakness that could get them killed. As someone who struggles with anxiety, I very much appreciate the character of Evan Adler. A former NHL hockey player, he now trains a women’s gymnastics team and is struggling. Callie Pearce is a gymnast who realizes she needs to show him the love he deserves. These two characters together are dynamite! This story has everything you could want in a sports-centered love story: action, intrigue, steam, and plenty of character development to make you fall in love with the both of them. It is evident that this author knows hockey and can create a story with just as much excitement as the game itself. This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and I am glad I did. This is a realistic story with relatable characters, and you will find yourself turning page after page without even noticing. I highly recommend giving this one a try.

Love is Worth Fighting for (The Meraki Series Book 3) by Effie Kammenou – Review by Kayla Kearney

Love is Worth Fighting for (Meraki, #3)Love is Worth Fighting for by Effie Kammenou
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fantastic, just like the other two books in the series. This book focuses on Krystina and Loucas, long time frenemies who have to work together that turn into lovers. Like the other two novels, Krystina has continued to search for their missing grandfather, which I was very happy to get more answers to the mystery behind. It isn’t very often that I read a Frenemies to lovers novel, but this one is definitely one of the best I have ever read. Both Krystina and Loucas are very relatable characters, and I loved watching them grow as both people separately and together as a couple. So far, all this author has done is impressed me with their writing styles, so I’m very excited to continue reading more of their work.
