The Longest Run: a Ski Patrol Rescue Romance (Lawson Family #4) by Tracey Cramer-Kelly – Review by Katie Matthews

The Longest RunThe Longest Run by Tracey Cramer-Kelly
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really like this author so I was looking forward to reading this story by her and I wasn’t disappointed. The story definitely had lots of emotion and the author did an amazing job with Chris’ character, I could genuinely feel how he was feeling at times. There were a few parts of the story that I did skip over just because I find them difficult to read about but I don’t think it really affecting my overall view of this story which was a nice romance with two nice characters. I loved Chris for his determination and his mind-set considering what has happened to him in his life. Overall I really enjoyed the story, and I especially loved Chris!!
I’m looking forward to more to come from this author in the future.

Stormy's Thunder (Satan's Devils MC Utah #2)Stormy’s Thunder by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So I think after I’m not sure how many books I may have found my favourite one from this author! I was absolutely hooked from beginning to end – Stormy was such a brilliant character to read about – I almost felt like I was hanging off of his every word. I hated him, then I loved him and then I hated him again – I definitely went backwards and forward with my feelings towards him but I just found his character so riveting to read about. I loved how complex he was and I loved that I really felt like I had to get to know him – I think the author did an amazing job with him as a character. This is book 2 in the Satan’s Devils MC Utah series and it did not disappoint! A fantastic 5 star read!!

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this story when I first read the blurb, it sounded really intriguing and I couldn’t wait to get going – I actually really enjoyed it as well. This really was an interesting and intriguing read added in to that is the authors creative and imaginative writing it was definitely a great 4 star read and what that I would definitely recommend.

Stars Fall From the Sky (Reigning Hearts Book Two) AUDIO BOOK by KG Fletcher – Review by Katie Matthews

Stars Fall From the Sky

By K. G. Fletcher

4 stars

This was my first ever audio book and I actually had no idea what to expect – would I like it? Would I be able to get into the story? But I have to be honest and say I was pleasantly surprise. I guess I was a little put off when I saw it was over 7 hours long and as I am a fast reader was worried I would lose interest but I found that I was able to listen at times when reading would have been inconvenient and the time actually went faster than I thought as I was engrossed in Ginger’s story.

I really liked the story, it was an emotional read and the author definitely got the feels across. I did kind of guess what might happen but that didn’t matter because I really liked the characters that I was listening about. Ginger was a sweet character and I really felt for her with everything that happened. Her love for Rusty and Daisy just poured off the pages at the beginning and so did her grief as the story progressed. I could feel the connection she found with Jonathon, I really liked him!!

The narration of the story was good; it took me a while to get used to but the narrator’s voice had a nice soothing, melody tone to it which I found quite relaxing!

I would definitely listen to another audio book from this author in the future.

Finders Reapers (New Orleans Nocturnes, #4)Finders Reapers by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another really enjoyable read from this series – I really like reading these books they are so funny and entertaining. The author has a great writing style that captures tour attention from the very beginning. I loved the banter between the characters; they had me laughing out loud so many times. The storyline was great, the Grim Reaper and a Necromancer – probably not two characters you would expect but they were great together. I loved the twists in the story it definitely made it less predictable than I was anticipating.
I really hope there’s more to come from this New Orleans Nocturnes series from Ms Pulkinen – I am definitely loving these stories!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really do adore this author. I get lost in her books so easily and they are always a pleasure to read. Moonlit Whisper was a lovely second chance romance novella, I read it quite quickly but that was definitely because I was so swept up in what I was reading. There were a few times I was a little confused with the flashbacks but it didn’t take me long to figure out the writing style Ms McKinley had adopted for this story. It was emotional at times and I definitely felt for Fiona.
Overall a lovely story, with wonderful characters and a nice storyline with a few twists! I definitely recommend this story to other readers!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Faida is a well written story and one that I really enjoyed. I liked the first book in the series so I was looking forward to the second and it didn’t disappoint. I liked Faida, she had a past that had made her the way she was and it was interesting to read her story especially given her role and see how she was going to or even if she could change her ways in order to help Robert. I really liked Robert even if it did take me a little to warm up to him, he was similar to Faida – they had a great connection and I definitely enjoyed reading about them.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and the series so far!

As always another wonderful read from Ms Ferguson. I absolutely love reading books by this author, I always feel like I am right there with the characters and I loved Mia and Noah’s story. Both characters were deep and complex but so wonderful to read about. There path to being together wasn’t smooth one with Mia’s controlling father but I was rooting for them the whole way through, in my opinion they were perfect for each other.
As always the authors writing is engaging and my interest is held from beginning to end. I love that even after so many books her characters and storylines are always different.

I love the setting for the story too; something about Italy makes a story even more romantic and sexy! I really liked Callie as well, she wasn’t afraid to stand up for herself when she needed to.

Secure Boxed Set: Chase Security Series Books 1-3 by R.L. Dunn – Review by Katie Matthews

Secure Boxed Set (Chase Security #1-3)Secure Boxed Set by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Secure Desire –Book 1

When I first read the blurb for this book it sounded like a book I would really enjoy, I love a Navy SEAL story, there is just something about these characters and overall I enjoyed what I read. I will say that it is a book that is quite complex in its storyline so I wouldn’t say it was an easy read, I did have to re-read the beginning so I could fully understand what was going on but once I settled into the story it picked up in my opinion. There were quite a few things going on so I think you have to be prepared to be able to concentrate on what you are reading, it isn’t a book you can easily dip in and out of. The characters were good, they were well thought out and planned and the authors writing was pretty detailed, there was a good mystery running through the story which definitely had me keep turning the pages to find out what was going to happen. I don’t think there was as much romance in the story as I anticipated but it was definitely a good mystery!

Secure Again – Book 2

Secure Again was another great read from R.L. Dunn; the story was as engaging and exciting to read as the first one. There was great mix of mystery and suspense running throughout and I was engaged from beginning to end. I loved that the plot was predictable either; I loved having to guess what is going to happen!! There did seem to be quite a few different characters and it took me a little while to get used to them all but I loved the main characters! I loved Elizabeth! She was a really strong character and a pleasure to read about. I was definitely on the edge of my seat on a few occasions waiting to see if characters would survive and would Elizabeth be able to help them! There were a few twists in the story too which made it even better to read!

Secure Heart – Book 3

This is the 3rd book in the Chase Security series and it was definitely my favourite! I liked the first two but I just found myself completely gripped by the story in this one. I really liked the characters Julian and Holly and I absolutely adored Holly’s daughter Sadie! She was such a special little girl to read about. Julian’s character appeared in book 2 of the series but I really enjoyed getting to know him more in this instalment. He’s such a lovely character, really genuine and I loved the connection he had with Holly. I was definitely rooting for these two the whole way through because they both deserved to be with someone special.
