Esprit de CorpseEsprit de Corpse by Ef Deal
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A steampunk/paranormal combined novel. This story is well written and as far as I can tell it is historically accurate. Not only is this my first read by this author but it is also my first time reading steampunk and I found it to be very interesting. This story is also filled with mystery and adventure. you won’t want to put it down!

Healing KissHealing Kiss by Amanda Uhl
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Healing Kiss is the first book I have read by this author. I am not usually a fan of this genre but this book was well written and easy to read. The story flowed well and the characters were very likeable. Realistic events and happenings made the actions performed seem very natural and believable. I will definitely be keeping my eyes open for more from this author.

The Silent RoadThe Silent Road by S.N. McKibben
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a first from this author and I was not at all disappointed. Over the road long distance truck driving can be hard on a person, but add in the responsibility of paying your child’s college tuition and your stresses are tripled. This book follows a couple of truck drivers and things have a weird way of working themselves out, no matter what the obstical or challenge.

Falling for You (Buckeye Falls Book 2) by Libby Kay – Review by Kelli Harper

Falling for You (Buckeye Falls, #2)Falling for You by Libby Kay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Here we are back in Buckeye Falls. This is book 2 in this series and it truly does NOT disappoint. A sweet romance is growing between Cece and Evan and I am here for it. This series can be read as stand-alones but I would read them in order so as to night get the timeline mixed. Love small town romances where everyone knows everyone and everything.
Looking forward to more from this author and hopefully more in this series.

Ocean’s Three (Made In Heaven #2) by Elena Kincaid – Review by Kelli Harper

Ocean's Three (Made In Heaven, #2)Ocean’s Three by Elena Kincaid
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Made in Heaven series book 2. This book is almost as good as the first one. You do NOT need to read these books in order as the characters are totally different and not connected in anyway from book to book.
This book has cousins, Cameron and Reed and their dream girl (literally) Joselyn.
But will their love remain only in the dream realm or will they ever find each other?
The biggest thing in this story is that Cameron is psychic, How or will this affect their future together?
I recommend this book, it is full for hot steamy scenes, just a disclaimer though it is MMF and it is HOT.

Ale's Fair in Love and War (Love on Tap, #1)Ale’s Fair in Love and War by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely love romantic comedies and this one is no different. An enemies-to-lovers romance full of funny pranks and hot steamy make out sessions. Cash and Hollis will entertain you from cover to cover. The way their “relationship” begins and progresses is so fun to watch and discover. I hope you pick this up. It is absolutely awesome and you will not be sorry.

Chicken Little Investigates (Science Folktales) by Lois Wickstrom – Review by Kelli Harper

Chicken Little investigatesChicken Little investigates by Lois Wickstrom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lois Wickstrom is really good at writing children’s books, and this one is no different, the only thing I didn’t care for was that the first couple pages were from another story. Even the names of the animal characters was the same. This book however is cute and will be entertaining for children who may not be as familiar with the original Chicken Little story.

Taming Brooklyn (The Club Kings Series Book 1) by Charlotte St. Pierre – Review by Kelli Harper

Taming Brooklyn (The Club Kings Series Book 1)Taming Brooklyn by Charlotte St. Pierre
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The men in this book are hot as sin. Oliver and Jaxon are playful romantics, Gideon is the strong, protector, and Aiden is the true Alpha, quiet, calm and powerful. Yet they all are enamored by Brooklyn. The thing I am not sure about is the title of this story. It says “Taming Brooklyn” like there is a D/s relationship somewhere in this story and there is not. This is a RH story and Brooklyn is a survivor of domestic abuse and is employed by a non-profit group that helps foster kids. The four Knight “brothers” own a club and they are investing in the non-profit. Anyway Oliver and Jaxon discover Brooklyn first and they are determined to be with her. In true brotherly fashion (well normal for these brothers) they share everything. This story does have instances and talks of Rape, violence, fighting, and graphic sexual encounters with multiple partners so reader discretion required. I however loved every suspense filled page and cannot wait for book 2 since this one does end in a cliff hanger.

A Dress To Remember: A Fairy Tale by K.L. Small – Review by Kelli Harper

A Dress To Remember: A Fairy TaleA Dress To Remember: A Fairy Tale by K.L. Small
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

WOW what an amazing book. Princess Zarina, the youngest of 13 children is about to have a birthday and it is the year of her Royal Advancement. She wants an amazingly beautiful dress unlike any other that has been seen in the kingdom. Her aunt takes her to a dressmaker outside of the castle that she has heard about and Princess Zarina instructs the woman as to what it is she wants. There are conditions of course, but Princess Zarina agrees to the conditions.

This book is full of adventures, loss, war, being chased and rescues. You can watch Princess Zarina learn and grow and mature through out this book. It is a very good book about responsibility and growing up and taking responsibility for your actions.

I really enjoyed this story and will be buying it in print to share with my daughter.

A BWWM historical romance. Greta Fay has fallen in love with a man at first sight but it is going to be frowned upon by everyone in their town. Christopher is supposed to be marrying Minnie but he doesn’t love her and doesn’t want to marry her just for her money, but feels obligated to do so for his father. But meeting and admiring Greta Fay for her stance or equal rights for people of color has Christopher falling in love with Greta Fay. This is a good story for a quick read.

The need for closure and the need for trust. It is all so real. WONDERFUL story. I cannot wait to read the second book in this series.

Such a GREAT read. This is a fabulous place to start if you are looking for answers to some of the hardest questions in writing historical books. This tells you how to go about the research and fact finding processes. Then there are tasks at the end of each section in the book to help you along. This book while not all encompassing in EVERY single resource is a great stepping off point for the beginner historical novelist.

Then when a shared nightmare causes panic, Cole and Charlie decide to go find Maddie. Walking out of the dreams and into a real life love affair. This book is wonderful. From the dream scenes to the real-life relationship. The three of them find their lives changed forever. Steamy sexual scenes and the suspense filled drama that lies waiting for Maddie.

The White Knight Cowboy Stacy-DeanneThe White Knight Cowboy Stacy-Deanne by Stacy-Deanne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a mix of genre’s, interracial, age-gap, historical, and forbidden romance. There is a lot going on in this story. Too much actually for the story to feel complete. While Dusty and Lovely Jo are finding their way together, there is still the “who done it” mystery lurking, the hiding from the sheriff, the trying to find a way to make it all work. This book is a quick read.

WOW about sums it up. When I picked this up I knew it was a Reverse Harem an she is a curvy girl. What I didn’t expect was to fall in love with everyone as well. The characters are well developed and the true bond of friendship/brotherhood between Charles Jordan and Alex is what truly helps make this a wonderful book. And the way they all cherish Stella as well as dote on baby Gia….. just a wonderful example of how a Polyamorous relationship can work. Loved this book.

Quick read. Not my favorite story this year but it is a quick read and it will keep you entertained for a couple hours. Business partners in a party planning company, Cadence and Jasmine have been friends since college, but will that all change now.
Jasmine is the sensible one in the party planning business while Cadence is the spoiled brat partner that gets her way all the time. However what happens in this story happens when Jasmine is trying to plan the wedding of James and Cadence. Interesting and irritating to say the least.

Chasing Redemption (Quimby Grove #2)Chasing Redemption by Shannon Nikole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have to say I did not read book one of this series and I am going to have to go back and do so. This story was absolutely fantastic. The beginning was so sexy and hot. And then to find each other 5 years later after not having a clue of each others names or anything about each other. Fantastic storyline with just the right amount of heat and suspense. Love that even though she was from a different state, those closest to him welcomed her with open arms and embraced their relationship. Great story and I am DEFINITELY going to be going back and reading the first book in this series. (However this story was a total stand alone, didn’t feel confused about anything or any of the characters).

Handle With Care (Chase Care Book 1)Handle With Care by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In true RL Dunn fashion this book starts off with snippets of the lives of Hunter and Selma. Then you get into the present time and the action just starts unfolding. A spin off of the Chase Security series, the Chase Care series is proving to be just as full of suspense and romance as the other. I truly enjoyed following the story of Hunter and Selma and watching their story unfold. This book is full of detail and will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next and how they deal with what is thrown at them.
I am ready for the next book!

The illustrations are wonderful in all of the books by Lois Wickstrom. The stories really draw you in and are just long enough to entertain and short enough to capture the attention of a young child.
This story about invisible magic wands and how not to abuse their power is so charming and educational.
Things truly get shaking in this book.

Night Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation Prequel) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Kelli Harper

Night Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation #0.5)Night Hawke by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The only thing that kept this from getting five solid stars was the fact that it ended way too soon. There is a LOT of steamy hot sex in this book, but I was definitely drawn to the internal monologue that was being had by both of the Main Characters. I am truly intrigued as to WHO “Jack” really is. The things divulged in this Novella are both intriguing and leave you wanting to know oh so much more. I cannot wait for this spinoff from McNamee’s original series.
