Super Sorry by C.A. King, USA Today Bestselling Author – Review by Kerry Carr

Super SorrySuper Sorry by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a great young adult read but is so well written that even as an adult I was drawn in a captivated by the story. It had a strong female character and the authors writing is so good the images it creates bring the story to life.

Sarah Sorry has a simple life. She is popular and has good friends. To her appearances in everything. So imagine her horror when one day she gets a zit.

But these aren’t just normal zits. These show her the beginning of her powers that she didn’t know she had.
She has no idea how to control them or how they work, and while trying to keep her image in tact she makes mistakes in more ways that one.

Being a teenager just got more complicated. Can she learn to control her power? Or will they destroy her image and status in school?

Key to Tirumfall (The Tirumfall Trilogy Book 3) by J Drew Brumbaugh – Review by Kerry Carr

Key to Tirumfall (Tirumfall Trilogy #3)Key to Tirumfall by J. Drew Brumbaugh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 3rd book in the Tirumfall Trilogy and I enjoyed it just as much as the first two books in the series. The characters are well written and the worlds are well described that you can imagine them. Because of this you don’t necessarily need to read the first two books as its a strong book on its own and easy to follow. However I would say reading the books in order will really bring the story together.

Gwen  is on the hunt for the Tower of Tirumfall. There is secret powers hidden inside that will make her become the best wizard ever. Before she leaves on her quest her parents break the news to her that she was kidnapped as a baby and that her parents were evil with her dad being a demon. With this new knowledge Gwen  sets out to find the tower but if she finds it how will the magic affect her. Will she be good or will her evil side take over.

Isabella was raised on the other side of the mountain with the demons and evil beings. She believes she is a child of prophecy but when she realises this isn’t true she sets out to find who she really is.

Both woman journeys lead them to each other but on their way the face things that somethings risk their lives. Can someone born evil overcome their instincts and be good? What secrets are hidden in the Tower and will they help or destroy the persons seeking it.

CAFE CONFIDENTIAL: An unfiltered and intimate memoirCAFE CONFIDENTIAL: An unfiltered and intimate memoir by Lynda Filler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a really interesting read for me and not the type of book I normally read but I really enjoyed it.

This books is the authors memoir about her adventures throughout the world and the people she meets along the way.
It was amazing to read of her brave journey, leaving everything behind her for this once in a lifetime experience. It was really inspiring as for some people they would never be able to do that.

The way the author writes is beautiful describing all the places and people she meets makes you feel like you are on the journey with her. And the pictures that are in the book are a nice touch.

Playing Series 3 Book Set by Stephanie Queen – Review by Kerry Carr

Playing Series 3 Book SetPlaying Series 3 Book Set by Stephanie Queen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a great set of books. Each book includes its own couple, its own story and its own budding romance. The emotion in all the books is so well written that you feel and experience everything the characters do. I loved them all.

Playing for money- This story is about Hunter and Cat. Hunter is a bad boy with a reputation that isn’t truelly deserved but the only person who knows the truth is Cat.
Cat is the coach’s daughter and she has been hired to keep Hunter out of trouble. Will she succeed or will the attraction between them be the failing for them both.

Playing for love- This book is a second chance romance between Gabe  and Mia. Gabe  is a player on the same team as Hunter. Football is his life so when his long term gf moves away he is happy to settle for a long distance relationship. However that changes when his gf’s friend Mia moves to Boston. Denise (Gabes gf) tells Gabe he needs to watch out for Mia and she also tells Mia that she needs to make sure Gabe is being faithful. Little does she realise that the attraction between Gabe and Mia will be so strong. Can they resist temptation or is having a long distance gf not an option for Gabe anymore?

Playing for keeps- This story is about Tate and Chloe and is definately an enemies to lovers story. Tate can’t stand the media after they hounded him at his uncles funeral so when he meets Chloe  the hatred is there from the beginning.
Chloe will do anything to get a story and when she hears rumours about Tate being injured she has to investigate. Is she biting off more than she can chew by approaching Tate? Can she win him around or will his hatred for the media continue to include her.

Grosse PointeGrosse Pointe by Natalie Barnes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was the first book I have read by this author and I did enjoy the story. The characters were well written and the writer was able to write in a way that makes you feel like you are in that era. As is the time there is quite a bit of violence but because of the era it doesnt seem out of place.

The year is 1926. Brek is in a world of drink and drug smuggling and violence on an epic scale. As he searches for his love Gabrielle he has to face loads of ups and downs. Things that push him to breaking point and on the verge of losing his life.

Can he survive to be reunited with his love or will his antics catch up with him in a brutal way.

Reign (The Larussio Legacy Book 3) by Via Mari – Review by Kerry Carr

Reign The Larussio LegacyReign The Larussio Legacy by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 3rd book in the Larussio Legecy series. It is the continued story of Giovanni who is the next in line to become don of the Italian Mafia and Serena who is a airline waitress. This book is full of action and romance. Even though there is a strong dominant male character in Giovanni, I like that fact that Serena is also a strong and determined character that keeps Giovanni on his toes.

There relationship is strong and passionate with a dom/submissive element but with all the protocols in a mafia family and the fact that just being with Giovanni puts her life and that of her families in danger it causes Serena to run.

But with all of the Larussio’s enemy’s looking for her as a way to hurt Giovanni has she made the wrong decision and played straight into their hands? Will she see that Giovanni’s love for her will over rule any protocol set by his family or will Giovanni’s commitment to his family and their way of life push Serena away for good.

Curse of the Sands (Relic Hunters Book 2) by Martin Ferguson – Review by Kerry Carr

Curse of the Sands (Relic Hunters, #2)Curse of the Sands by Martin Ferguson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the Relic Hunters series and wow what a book. The adventure continues with Adam Hunter and his fellow team mates from the British Museum who are brought in to help in Egypt where a pyramid has been uncovered that has never been found before.

So the team embark on the journey to discover who or what the pyramid belongs to. Is it hiding treasures from ancient Egypt or is it just one maze of deadly traps and dangerous almost deadly experiences.

Why would all this protection be in place for nothing at all? Is it protecting something special or is it all a disguise to fool people?

The story is gripping and I love how it flips from ancient Egypt times to present day to help build the story and bring it all together.

Secure Heart (Chase Security Series Book 3)Secure Heart by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 3rd book in the Chase Security Series and its just as gripping as the first 2. The love story is really touching and emotional that you cant help but love the characters. Along with that story there is also the mystery, mayhem and terror which surrounds Chase Security and the people they protect.

In this story we follow Julian. We found out a little about him in previous books but in this book we learn all about him. I like Julian’s character. He is smart, amazingly good at his job and has a heart of gold.

After being transferred to the San Diego part of Chase Security he realised that things in that part of the business aren’t what they seem and what he unravels will shock and amaze.

As well as this element there is also a romance and this happens with Holly. Holly has had a troubled past but is now making a life for herself and her daughter. With a manager trying to get his claws into her and a crazy fan threatening her safety she hires Chase Security and more importantly Julian to protect her.

This was an interesting, historical story about John the Baptist and how his teachings about love and equality helped to change people’s thoughts and beliefs.

It is a heartwarming story as his relationship and connection with Mischa  grows but it is also heartbreaking because of the outcome.

Its a story that teaches us that everyone is equal no matter who they are or what they believe and that everyone deserves love and compassion. It is a very thought provoking story especially in the current world.
