This book took me by complete surprise!! It was horror and mystery at its finest. All the characters had such secrets and such hidden depths to themselves. I honestly went in blindly not knowing what to expect, but I was surely not disappointed. This is a book you can pick up on a rainy night with a comfortable blanket.

Tale of a Body Thief (Rovena Silvex chronicles Book 1)Tale of a Body Thief by Kristy Centeno
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The story was exceptional and nothing like I expected! This author took me on such a wild ride, and every portion of this book was amazing. Our female main character was completely bad a**.
Demons, danger, violence, supernatural, the occult, and so much action all in one sitting. This book was one I would read more than once, and more than twice. Watching Rovena and the depth she goes to to keep this one demon corpse alive when normally her job is to make sure they stay dead was such a fun ride. Book one was amazing and book 2 cannot get here soon enough

I really enjoyed the experience that was Eric and Kiki. This author is new to me and I will definitely be picking her books up again. There was so much drama, angst, and sweet moments in this book. It showcases true love and the lengths that you may have to go through to find it and keep it. Kiki was such a force on her own right and the fame and success still allowed her to be grounded. Eric was such a sweet and nice guy and he had a good heart. Together they built something amazing and the journey that it took for them to get to that good place was well worth the read.

The Vilification of Aqua Marine (Working Mask, #1)The Vilification of Aqua Marine by Megan Mackie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I truly love this book, and it’s one of my favorite ones I’ve read this year. It’s such a fast paced and fun story, and you get absorbed as you read it. Rhiannon or Aqua Marine was a great character. Having a superhero dad and villain mom is nothing of the normal. However she embraces it and she’s trying to the best of her ability to excel because she wants to follow in her father‘s footsteps, but she felt she’s lacking. There was just so much that went into the story that made it so amazing. Everyone loves a good superhero and this definitely have it.

I loved this book in everyway possible. Steamy, suspenseful, action packed, dramatic, and danger lurking everywhere. Arley was a very strong and brave character who endured so many traumatic things. As she finally begins a better chapter in her life she is kidnapped for sex trafficking’s and is forced to run. Fate however brings her back with a childhood friend and former crush Kurt. He gives her a job and essentially comes to be her protector. Arley and Kurt together start to have things heat up between them as they take this second chance given. The question is will Arley make it out alive to explore the what ifs with Kurt.

Death & Mirrors (All Things Dark & Deadly Book 1) by SF Benson – Review by Lauren West

Death & Mirrors: All Things Dark & Deadly, Book OneDeath & Mirrors: All Things Dark & Deadly, Book One by S.F. Benson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Never more have I wanted to fall down a rabbit hole or jump through a mirror! Branson brought this fantasy story to life in ways no one else could! This strange world that is introduced vividly stuck with me as I read through. Each chapter brought a new element of excitement with the unknown of what is next. Gaslight fantasy is very new to me, however it makes for a very interesting read.
Evaline was a great MC and her plight to prove herself and live her life as she chooses made me fall in love with her character all the much more. As she explores in this unknown place trying to help take down Doctor Death you see her in her element. Every character introduced and encountered along the way bright such life to the story. The mix of magic, mystery, and suspense made it difficult to even attempt putting the book down.

Antipodes (Antipodes, #1)Antipodes by T.S. Simons
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dystopian books are a new genre to me and they really take you outside box. The what if questions and the routes that can be taken make these reads the most fun.
Antipodes was a really good story that most can relate to having lived through a pandemic. The characters were well developed and easy to relate to. The authors detailing and vivid descriptions played to my imagination as if I were directly in the moment with the characters. Cam was a great lead character. You feel for him having to make these life altering decisions and leaving everything and everyone he loves behind. As he adjusts to the new life he has chosen he does find stability, friendship, love, and a sense of self. However with the good you take the bad, and Cam finds himself under circumstances yet again where he has to be all in or all out.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Such an amazing historical romance! I was so eager to read it the moment it hit my kindle, and I was very happy I did.
Isabel and Sir William were so good together. The journey from strangers to man and wife was delightful. Their love was a breath of fresh air and the way they overcame the insecurities and differences for the good of their people show the union was meant to be. It was more than just a knight and his wife, but truly a love for the ages.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this YA novel and where it took me. It was not what I expected when I started, but I loved where it took me as it ended. Its fast paced, suspenseful, a touch of romance, and definitely dramatic. Reece was a great character and easily to relate to. He was much more than what he seemed to be. Growing into his own and faced with many hard decisions he had to choose his path wisely. He wanted no ones sacrifice or any lives to be lost in vain. There were many great elements to this book and its a guaranteed once you begin you will not stop until the end.

Every book in this series gets better each time. I enjoy reading these books with my daughters because its bright and vivid pictures but also great lessons. Each story holds a certain value to it that you do not forget. Trezzie was great fun in this story and her life for under valued treasure presented big life lessons. The science and educational aspect was just a big bonus!

This story had a number of great elements within it, and a wonderful cast of characters to play it out. The emphasis of friend ship, loyalty, honesty, and drama all entwined in this paranormal mystery is a great read for all ages. I’m Not Your Difference (Fitz Series Book 4) by Theresa Sederholt – Review by Lauren West

I'm Not Your Difference (Fitz, #4)I’m Not Your Difference by Theresa Sederholt
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This story was nothing like I imagined it to be. It hurt and hit in all the right places for me to fall in love with every element. Andy and Stephen more than pull at your heart strings with all that must be endured, and the fight for love and family.. Stella being in the mix just added that right feel in as well. Such a sweet and perfect little girl that gave Andy and Stephen more meaning in their lives. This was more than just a love story. It was a run against the clock to find a serial killer, a plea to save a marriage and a look into a world where sometimes you need more than just love and faith. It was gritty, emotional, intense, suspenseful, and unforgettable. This is an author I will be reading again, and soon.

Body Checked (Astoria Bay Thunder Book 2) by CJ Cartwright – Review by Lauren West

Body Checked (Astoria Bay Thunder #2)Body Checked by C.J. Cartwright
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love a good hockey romance! Something about this sport and the men out there on the ice never fails to make an amazing story. Tia and Bridger had me falling in love with them individually and then even harder when they were together. Tia was a woman who made her own rules and did things her way. A poor history with men and ex’s in general she is not looking for anything related to the male variety. Bridger being the sexy man on ice as well as the bad boy has had quite a history with women., and nothing reflecting well on his reputation. He and Tia meeting and going through the motions with each other takes them both out of their element with the attraction and pull they each feel. Deciding to be friends with benefits they venture down a dangerous road which will either lead to love or something neither of them want to think about it. This humorous, sexy, angsty, and steamy story will have you smiling from start to finish.

This is my first read in the Meraki series and I enjoyed it. Friendship, family, and faith were big factors within this story. The sisters themselves showed great family dynamic and how strong a family bond can be.
Our MFC Krystina was a free spirit with dreams of traveling the world. When tragedy strikes her dreams to travel for leisure instead become travels for unanswered questions. By her side is a childhood friend/foe named Loukas. He is determined to be her rock and to prove how he truly feels. Together they experience love, loss, anger, and the road to happiness

Isabella Bride of Ohio: American Mail-Order Brides SeriesIsabella Bride of Ohio: American Mail-Order Brides Series by Debra Parmley
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I am familiar with this author and usually enjoy her work. This book was a bit difficult for me to get into, but it was insightful and interesting from a historical aspect. To imagine traffickers during that time and the fear of nearly being taken in a time without all the modern technology would be unnerving . The story itself has action, danger, drama, and deception. Isabel herself was a wonderful heroine who was strong and amazing. She persevered despite so much loss and tragedy. Donald was to be her chance at a better life and happiness but she still didn’t feel everything was right having gone to be his bride anyway. The more the story progresses you question if there are truth to her fears and if her life will take a turn for the better or worse.

Truth or Kill (Twisted Legends Collection Book 1) by A.C. Kramer – Review by Lauren West

Truth or Kill (Twisted Legends Collection, #2)Truth or Kill by A.C. Kramer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I cannot resist a good dark romance, and this was one that everything rolled all into one. Suspense, murder, lust , and lots of drama.
One invite changes it all for Sydney during her Spring Break. What started as a game turns out to be just as it states.. “Truth or Kill.” Sydney is alluring, confident, and intelligent. She was very blunt and honest and she was no fool at all during this book. When she meets Kage at the resort its instant that they have a connection. As a team up they begin to play the dangerous game knowing to play is to survive. The more they fight for survival the more they fall for each other in the process. While Sydney may be that wide eyed girl its clear that Kage is as anti-hero as they come. This story was a wild ride that will have you on edge until the end.

Castor's Kiss (Soul Bonded in the Stars # 2)Castor’s Kiss by Tai James
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really liked reading this book, and enjoyed how different it was from other Sci-Fi romances!
The author gave us characters that meshed well together, and you really got a chance to see them develop together.
Mia was amazing. Her character left an impression on you from the start because her journey was one that was mentally and emotionally trying. Cast into slavery and then made to fight for her life daily in an arena she only become stronger. A hardened woman to survive but never once displayed a lack of heart. When she and Castor are put together to fight she finds a partner in the arena and out. The mate bond between them is intense with a chemistry that can’t be fought. Together they are equals and so much more.

Sol lost a piece of himself when he lost his job, and the demons he battled because of it took away his sense of purpose. Ember was a bright light and new to being a firefighter, and still trying to find her place. Sol was her mentor, but also so much more. Together they give each the strength needed.

This book was deeply intense and emotional. It told a story that was very real and realistic. PTSD is all to common and not spoken about enough, and this story sheds light and facts associated with it.
Sgt. JP Grimm pulled at my heart strings watching his struggle and the ones he loved try to help him through. A man living each day with guilt and remorse until he decides he and his pistol might get a taste of each other. Emotionally I was not prepared for this story, but its a book I would 100% pick up again.

The Colors of Friendship (Colors Trilogy, #1)The Colors of Friendship by K.R. Raye

This book was an interesting yet enjoyable read. It explores friendship in all forms and the bonds that tie people together. Imani, Melody, and Lance were all great characters. The connection between them all and the support for each other and the situations they encounter are all very relatable. Melody was the romantic trying to find love and herself. Imani was career oriented but still trying to find things she wanted in her life. Lance was the football star who liked women, but still understood the importance of friendship.
Together their story is somewhat intense, but all around relatable in some way shape or form. Book 1 for this series was a great start

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Our doctors are back and I was so eager to read their story. Book 2 was just as good if not better than book 1.

Morgan has accepted her newfound ability and is now sharing her home with her resident ghosts. Her and Caleb have also began exploring something of a romantic nature although Morgan has doubts about her “Mr. Too Good to Be True.” As things start to finally calm something or “someone” new turns up from the ghostly world and her sights are set on Dr. Cutler’s man. All the turn of events push Morgan and Caleb even closer and have them starting to think about their future as well as things around them.
This book was such a fun read with great strong characters and a storyline that kept you interested. I will be picking up more from this author in the future.

I have loved everything by this author so far, and have been head over heels for this series! This book was a true RomCom that everyone should read! Love, laughter, and a great road to a HEA.
Victoria and Seth were great together! Seth was sweet and down to earth and wanted to be seen as more than his status or estimated worth. Victoria was smart and feisty, and overall very determined. Mistaken for being a candidate for the PA job in Seth’s office lands her right where she needs to be. The journey they take with the added business/pleasure takes this story to all the right places. I smiled from start to finish and I would surely read this book again.

The characters were well developed, unique, and strong. Each with a personal journey that took them to where they needed to be and that tied the story together up to this successful end. I do not always love YA stories but this is one I could not put down and books 1 and 2 are going to be my next read

Our beloved fairy tales takes us down a dark path with unexpected results. This is only on book in a series of 27 twisted and dark versions of our beloved childhood nursey rhymes. Darkness has shadowed the light and this is other side. Jac and Mimi were perfect characters and our Queen of Heart is much more than meets the eye. It was a wonderful change to the story and the other fairy tales are already next on my list!

This book was a suspense tale that had lust, romance, intrigue, and thrills at every angle. I loved the characters and enjoyed every element of the unexpected the author threw in.

Victoriously Yours (Titans Of Manhattan #4)Victoriously Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This Author never disappoints, and this series only gets better. Jonas and Kenzie have become my favorite couple, and their story took me by absolute surprise. Together they have a painful and emotional history that bleeds as gainfully in their present as it did in their past.
Kenzie was a girl who suffered from the heartbreak and betrayal by the teenage boy she gave her innocence to.. Feeling mentally defeated and lost she takes the only avenue she feels she has left causing a destructive domino effect.. Jonas and Kenzie were people who were disappointed and hurt by not just each other, but the people around them. As they are reunited at this present time in their life it becomes clear they never got over each other. Trying to understand what’s between them and if there can ever be more only brings up their difficult past and the secrets that are still between them.. As truth comes to light you feel the hurt, heartbreak, love, lust and insecurity that is between them and wonder if they can ever move on.
