Sons of Sindicato (Sons of Sindicato ) by Cam Johns & Sonya Jesus – Review by Liz Vrchota

Sons of Sindicato (Sons of Sindicato #0)Sons of Sindicato by Cam Johns
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cam Johns and Sonya Jesus are dynamite when they team up. This short novella was jammed to the rim with all the goodies I love in a thriller romantic read. I loved how fast this read but still made me feel as if I had a full length read when I finished, and that I had it stick with me for a very long long time. I loved Braelynn, a kickbutt lawyer with her own skeletons in the closet. She has a secret that she hides well though and things may get complicated when her life collides with Seth, a mafia boss that will make you drool. They are fabulous characters separate but together they ignite your kindle as you read. I can’t wait to see what will come next from these two.

Witness (Ash Park Series Book 9) by Meghan O’Flynn – Review by Liz Vrchota

Witness: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 9)Witness: An Ash Park Novel by Meghan O’Flynn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is hands down one of my all time favorite crime thriller series that I have ever read. I have followed and read all the previous books of the Ash Park Series at least twice, so when I saw book nine, Witness was available I may have just cancelled the whole night so I could disappear into this read. I would personally recommend that you read the books in order as we have recurring characters that are amazing and have growth throughout so it would make your reading a bit more enjoyable. Witness it one amazing and twisty read that will have you second guessing everything as you go. I won’t divulge one bit of this great read other than the author has already shared in blurbs, but take it from me this is one you do not want to miss and will want to clear your schedule to devour!

A Tennis Pro To Die For (Cozy Mysteries To Die For Book 3) by Judy Moore – Review by Liz Vrchota

A Tennis Pro To Die For (Cozy Mysteries to Die For, #3)A Tennis Pro To Die For by Judy Moore
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the third novel in Judy Moore’s Cozy Mysteries To Die For series. In my personal opinion these books just flow and are so much better when read in order. You really begin to feel as the characters are family you could visit from time to time and join in on their adventures. I love how Moore writes these mysteries with just enough humor and wit to feel like you get a comedy read as well. It is a unique spin to the cozy mystery genre. In this one we visit the world of pro tennis and man do things get messy. Beck really finds herself in the thick of it while taking tennis lessons she was coaxed into taking by her sister. The death of a tennis pro will make things even more interesting. I can’t wait to see where we will find ourselves next in this series.

Price of a Rose: A Beauty & Beast Tale (Historical Fantasy Fairytale Retellings Book 2)Price of a Rose: A Beauty & Beast Tale by Byrd Nash
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have really enjoyed the Historical Fairytale Retellings from Byrd Nash. This one of course brings us her rendition of Beauty and the Beast. I feel like sometimes the retellings can become a bit much from authors all the time, but this was a unique version that drew me in very well. Nash really reimagines the characters into some awesome and fun to read scenes that are original feeling to me. I really loved that she kept Poppy very much as a bookworm and built from there. It made me feel as if I was visiting a grown up version of one of my absolute favorite Disney movies of all. I will of course be back for more retellings soon I hope from Byrd Nash.

8 Second Ride by Shannon Nemechek – Review by Liz Vrchota

8 Second Ride8 Second Ride by Shannon Nemechek
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This novella was a well written and jam packed love story with a bit of enemies to lovers undertone. I enjoyed how this played out quickly and allowed me to disappear into a warm country day for a few hours as I followed along with Jess and Tuck. I won’t lie. I really did not like Jess and honestly she still wasn’t a fav of mine by the end of the book. I mean I understood why she was the way she was but I believe we all have to grow up and be adults sometimes and take responsibility for our own personalities. She did redeem herself a bit and overall this book ended well and would bring me back if this became a series from Nemechek.

Beckoned (Born of Darkness Book 1) by R. B. Fields – Review by Liz Vrchota

Beckoned (Born of Darkness, Book 1)Beckoned by R.B. Fields
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Normally vampire reads are not a go to for me, but when I saw the cover and a few teasers I knew I needed to see what this was all about. Fields is also a new author to me so I am excited to get a chance to read what else she has available since I enjoyed this one. Beckoned it the first book of the Born of Darkness series, and I am super excited to get a chance to see what will come next. I loved the way Fields wrote these characters so well you can’t help but to fall in love with them as you follow them tackling the things life throws their way. I really enjoyed the erotic romance undertones as well because they were done well and with grace that this lifestyle deserves. I can’t wait to see what will happen next!

10 Days by KJ Holliday – Review by Liz Vrchota

10 Days10 Days by KJ Holliday
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

KJ Holiday was a new author to me but after seeing a few blurbs and teasers I knew it would be right up my alley for a lighthearted and funny romantic read. It did not disappoint and I found myself reading this quickly and sad when the story came to a conclusion. Holiday has a knack for writing some witty and laugh out loud scenes that will make any reader love these characters and the story they have to share. I couldn’t get enough of Alex and Penny and the sidekick friend Luke.

“First of all, f@*k tents.”

This line had me spitting out my diet pepsi, cause same lol. I love camping or the outdoors but not tents, tents are the devil and I have plenty of awful experiences with them to say I’m good never again. Alex really needs the experience though to help him with his latest writing endeavor and is dragged to the mountains to live it all. Penny throws in a plot twist when he discovers he loves her, but will Penny accept the advances and the idea of a romance with him? For that you will have to read to find out. I can’t wait to see what else is available from KJ Holiday in the near future!

Gunner: An Eidolon Black Ops Novel by Maddie Wade – Review by Liz Vrchota

Gunner (Eidolon Black Ops #6)Gunner by Maddie Wade
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoy just about anything that Maddie Wade writes but this one, this one has to be a favorite top read for sure. Gunner is definitely a novel that will rip you apart as you read and follow Gunner in his growth and determination to save face and make up for the pain he caused his sister so many years ago. Things have the added element of danger and adventure as Gunner works Eidolon, and the romance is enough to have you cheering for happily ever after after the first kiss. I couldn’t put this read down and soaked it all in, in one solid sit down so I’d prepare yourself with your fav drink and cozy spot. This is one you won’t want to miss!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading The Goddess of Everything from Paul DeBlassie III. This is one thriller that will and did keep me sitting on the edge of my seat as I followed the story of Gabriel de LaTierra, a psychiatric healer. This is one that really takes it time to build and find that smashing ending, but I felt all the time spent was well worth every second. I found myself really connecting to Gabriel and becoming invested in his journey and the layers that surround it and build. I have high hopes this is not the last of this type of novel from DeBlassie, because I will be there to devour it next. I do look forward to seeing whatever new comes from him. This is my absolute favorite of his so I hope he can top it! If thrillers and layered, well planned and thought out novels that engage you are your thing, this is a book you do not want to miss out on reading!

Where Flowers BloomWhere Flowers Bloom by Nikki Vale
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Where Flowers Bloom by Nikki Vale, was an unexpected, beautiful, and gripping read that I could not put down. I was drawn in by the blurb and cover, Nikki Vale being a new to me author, but I will for sure be reading more of her books as soon as possible. Vale has a knack for writing a detailed and romantic read with so many more layers than you’d normally expect in a romance read. I was totally sucked in to the beautiful scenery, the past and present tidbits, the haunting that added much needed mystery and intrigue. I even was completely taken by surprise with how this book came to an end. I won’t divulge more details than what you get with the blurb and teasers because this is one that would be sad to ruin with spoils. This is one you do not want to miss though and that I can guarantee.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have been falling in love with Shannon Nemechek’s Traveler Series from the very beginning, and this exciting third installment is just as much loved and enjoyed. I would highly recommend that you read these books in order to fully understand where you are and how things have gone in each book. We find ourselves right where we left off with the second book so another reason to read in order. I love the adventure and the world building that Nemechek gives us with each of her novels. I felt as if I was right there along with the characters enjoying every moment. This is one you do not want to miss if you find your love time traveling and historical reads. Nobody KnowsNobody Knows by Kyra Lennon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have been slowly getting familiar with the writings of Kyra Lennon and I have to say I have not found one that was below a four star read yet. I was excited to find this series, Razes Hell, as I am a big fan of rockstar romance reads. I don’t know what it is about them but it just makes me fall in love with the characters even more. In Nobody Knows we get all that and more. I was taken away to this world where there are three friends navigating life and adulthood the best they can. This somewhat becomes that friends to lovers read and the slow burn was intense and very well played out. I just loved each of the characters, even the side ones and I am beyond hooked. I cannot wait to see what other books we will get in this series!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have yet to find a novel by Phoebe Alexander that I didn’t just love to death from beginning to end. I was super excited to get my hands on this first novel of a fun and romantic comedy series from her. A Hole kicks things off perfectly and brings us all the details that will hook us for the rest of the series. I typically worry with novellas that I just won’t have enough to thoroughly get to know the characters, but that is not the case here. We meet Ace and Ella and the journey they take to find their happily ever after. I found myself laughing out loud literally as I read this and came away feeling as if I made new friends. I cannot wait to get my hands on the rest of this series!

Carnival of Shadows (Black Water Magic #2)Carnival of Shadows by Leslie Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love love books that have an undertone of Carnival to them so when this cover caught my eye and I saw the theme it was a no brainer I knew I had to give it a read. I am so glad that I did. It was one crazy ride and I loved every single second that I spent reading it! I was completely swept up into this world created by Leslie Scott where Teagan is our main character and there are so many more side characters that just pack as much of a punch, given the theme that is also a no brainer. I loved how this managed to keep me thinking about it when I wasn’t reading and had me itching to pick it back up the next day to see how things would turn out. I can’t wait to see what else is available in this series and will come next as well as what may be available by Leslie Scott as well!

Hungry Business: A Short StoryHungry Business: A Short Story by Maria DeBlassie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this read but it was the season of love and a short story at only 17 pages so I figured why not! This book did not disappoint and packed a punch for the shortness of it. What a world that Maria DeBlassie formed so quickly. We get a unique spin on a love story that takes place after a zombie breakout changes the world and the dating landscape. I enjoyed how this flowed fast and well but also left room for more if the author wanted in the future to make more. I think this is the perfect alternative read to the normal sappy romances we get inundated with in the Valentine’s season.

Hell In A Handbasket (Life is Hell Book 3) by Naomi Valkyrie – Review by Liz Vrchota

Hell In A Handbasket (Life is Hell #3)Hell In A Handbasket by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was thoroughly ready and excited to get my hands on this third book in Naomi Valkyrie’s Life is Hell series. I knew that the adventure that awaited me would suck me in and keep me until the last page, so I settled in and dove right in. This book in my opinion should be read after the first two. We get familiar with the landscape and the world that has been created by Valkyrie. It is a vivid one and you will feel as if you have dove right into the story and are experiencing things right along with the characters. I really was excited to see what Teivel and Oran would get as far as a story. I must point out too that I normally don’t enjoy M/M genre reads because they can turn into a bit overwritten and with not much couth so the romance is lost for me, but this one was just right and not overly written that it was a beautiful love story layer to the book. I won’t give much more details to the story away because this is one world you must experience for yourself! I can’t wait to get my hands on the next installment!!

Desperately Seeking Sixty Nine (The Green Room Chronicles, Book One) AUDIO BOOK by J.D. Frettier – Review by Liz Vrchota

I know what you are thinking this book is about… that cover and title really draws your attention right away. I had never read/listened to anything from JD Frettier before so I had no idea what to expect. JD Frettier, you are a clever mind! I adored this fast ride to the afterlife. At just under fifty pages we get a big story in a small package that makes you feel the gambit of emotions.

In Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine you have the story of Bonnie McMillan. In the summer of 1969 bonne and her husband met at the infamous Woodstock. A life of hippie style love and sex, is what they have lived for a wonderful forty-seven years. All of that is changed and ripped away in one night of raunchy fun together. Bonnie finds herself in what they call ‘the green room’. She embarks on a mission to reinvent herself and find a way back to ‘sixty-nine’. What a journey it is too! I have yet to come across a India Kells novel that I didn’t absolutely adore and devour and this one, Night Justice, is no exception to the rule. I do enjoy the way that India Kells can weave a deep and emotional, yet gripping story that has a clear and loud plot mixed in with the passion she writes so well. I sincerely love the suspense novels that she does and this one would have to be on the top of that list of favs.

In Night Justice, A Chicago Vigilantes Novel, we get to follow Orla, a determined reporter with a mission. She must find a way to stop the distribution of a new drug that is terrorizing Chicago while also searching for a Vigilante with his own ideas of justice at play in the city. I picked this book up on a whim. I have read a few of AJ Renee’s books in the past but none of the Broderick Coven ones until now. This book was a fabulous read and really was what I needed without even knowing it. This book brings to life the coven and the characters so well that you feel as if you are right there watching these scenes happen in real time. I loved how this book kept me keen and on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next in this magical work Renee has created. A Sun So Bright (Reigning Hearts, Book Three) AUDIO BOOK by KG Fletcher – Review by Liz Vrchota

A Sun So Bright is the third book of the Reigning Hearts series from KG Fletcher. These books can be read or listened to completely as standalones or together in a series. I have to say I struggled with this one but only for a bit. The main female lead, Fiona, is not one that I wanted to like. Darn it all to hades though by the end Fletcher had me feeling all the feels and completely hooked on her as a person. She really grew into a woman I completely never thought possible in those early chapters. I am so glad I stuck with it and was able to see how this sweet little love story played out. I am excited to see what the next book in the series will bring. I am sure it will be its own sweet soul female lead with a completely new spin just like this one and the books before it.

This was a sweet and fun young adult, children’s read that can be enjoyed at any age, and shared with your children alike. I love books that are all encompassing with the content. This is full of emotions, adventure, coming of age undertones and more! We get to follow along as a group of children set out to right the wrong they were done when money they raised for a good cause has gone missing. They put together their own sleuthing club to investigate and the adventure takes off from there. I shared this with my kids over a few evenings before bed, at 84 pages it really is a short fun shareable read for bedtime. I look forward to seeing what else is available from Linda Maria Frank!

Havall 16Havall 16 by A.J. Ullman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was pleasantly surprised with this novel. The teasers and blurb peaked my attention, even though this is not my normal go to for a genre. I really enjoyed such a unique storyline that Ullman has created. It reminded me of all the sci-fi movies that I have really enjoyed, and it read like a movie too. In the book we find a world with social classes that are on the outside pretty self explainable but are really more in depth and of course has ramifications that will affect everyone. We have the Havalls, and the Havenots. Havall 16 had decided to go back in time and work to stop things that made this social class possible. The adventure has just about everything you could want in a sci-fi read and will keep you on the edge of your seat as you read and cheer Havall 16 on. I would be interested to see if we get any other novels with the same story idea as this one, I am sure it will be great.

Bound by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops, #2)Bound by Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As soon as I finished the first book in this Deadly Isles Special Ops Series from Amy McKinley, I knew I was hooked and needed to read all the words in any future books to come. For me personally I would read the first book, Twisted Secrets, before diving into this one. There is a steady storyline that does play throughout this book as well and I felt as if it just made things that much more enjoyable for me as the story progressed. This one shares more of Jaxon and Kayla’s story that may have left you wondering how things turned out in book one. You will get all the answers here. This book will destroy you at times and you will want to make sure you have a large box of kleenex, at least I did. I love how McKinley brings the characters to life so vividly that you feel as if you are there. It is present in all her novels but I do have to say this one series is shaping up to be my absolute favorite of hers. I can’t wait to see what will come next!

It isn’t necessary to read the books in order or the other two before diving into this one, but I am sure you will want to go back and devour them as well when you finish this one. The Freshwater books really are a fun, romantic, and sassy series that will have you giggling and cheering for the couples the whole time. Daddy’s Girl gives us the story of Em and Joel. They may have opposite goals in the beginning, Em with her desire to finish school and start her career, and Joel who basically thinks she can have it all even when she doesn’t see it. Will they find their happily ever after? I can’t wait to see whose story we will get next!

Stormy's Thunder (Satan's Devils MC Utah #2)Stormy’s Thunder by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I always know that I am in for a treat when I pick up a book by Manda Mellett. This one is the second installment of the Satan’s Devils MC Utah chapter, you should be okay to read this as a standalone because it does recap fairly nicely in the beginning of the novel. I personally would recommend that you start with at least the series first book before diving into this one simply because this is a series that does a lot of interweaving and we even see some of the older series characters pop up. I feel like I am visiting family at this point when I dive into a Satan’s Devils book and that is a feat that I have only found in a few other series I follow. I won’t divulge much more than this is Stormy’s story and it sure does not disappoint one bit. I think details matter here so I won’t give much more for fear of ruining things. This is one you do not want to miss out on though and will knock your socks off with some intriguing twists and turns.
