5-Stars
An Unexpected Sequel was fast paced and exciting. Robin has been a minion for the Demon Barbara for sometime after striking a deal with her. When Robin refuses an order for the first time, her life is in danger. I love the mix of romance, paranormal, and mystery in this novel. As seen in the authors other books in this series there is amazing character development. I loved getting to know Robin more in this novel as she pursued a romance with Jackson. I love how the girls all worked together later in the book too. This was such a creative and fun read. I highly recommend this book!

The characters are very entertaining and the storyline is easy to follow. This novel was an excellent short read and easy to get lost in. I enjoyed the various settings and was fascinated with the creativity the author expressed when inventing her cult God’s Delight. I definitely recommend this book and the series.

Hidden Magic is part of the Sanctuary Chronicles Collection. It is an exciting and magical novel focusing on a shifter romance. Brant feels that Kat is his mate and they are in love. She is a telepath and their love is against the rules of the High Council. When tragedy strikes and Kat is kidnapped, Brant almost loses it. With the help of his human cop friend Hunter, they locate and save her. They save her physically anyway. I was torn with her state of mind when they rescued her. I loved how Brant dug deep down to open up and care for her to attempt to bring her back to reality following. This novel was beautiful and I really enjoyed it. I loved that the author immediately pulls you in to the action. It was fast paced and I was able to read this in one sitting. Furbidden Attraction is romantic and funny. This fast paced, easy to read novel, was delightful. I could not put this novel down. Louisa and Jack were creative and fun main characters. There were several instances where the two had me literally laughing out loud. The author did a magnificent job with those two and also a wonderful job on the supporting characters . The different settings were easy to visualize and I loved the variety of animal shifters. This is the first book of this series and I highly recommend it. Vermilion Lies is book three in this action packed series. I have to say that this one is my favorite. I love both Dax and Cindy’s characters. I hated that Cindy experienced so many difficult and terrible things. It broke my heart when she was able to feel gratitude or even snow for the first time. I loved how caring and gentle Dax became with her after their unlikely meeting.

This novel was excellently written and easy to follow. There was never a dull moment. I loved the different settings and the witty banter between the brothers. This novel may be book 3 in the series but it can be read as a standalone. I do recommend the other books in the series though. The author has done a magnificent job with these books and I look forward to reading more.

Dark (The Dark Trilogy Book 1)by Paul L Arvidson
5-Stars

Dark is an interesting and creative novel. There are amazing characters and scenery. This book is very different from the books I have read before. The setting had me thrown for a bit because instead of ever6being described in a visual sense, the author utilized the other senses to describe it. The world is in complete darkness for these individuals. To me, that was fascinating. Dunn, Padg, Tali, and Myrch were all interesting and different characters. I enjoyed following them a long their journey and loved that each had their own unique talents. Each played a key role to the groups survival and task. Being that this is book 1 of this series, I look forward to the other books. I highly recommend this unique book.

Unraveled hooked me in emotionally right off the bat. When main character Layla finds out she has cancer on top of catching her longtime boyfriend cheating she has no other choice but to reach out to her little brother. This leads to her moving closer to home where she rescues her brother, Russ’, best friend Kellan from an awkward situation with an ex. The chemistry between the two and what was supposed to be a one night stand turns into more.

I loves that this book hooked me in and that it was easy to follow. The author did not use difficult medical terminology so it was easy to understand what was going on. I truly loved both Kellan and Layla’s characters and how they developed with the storyline. It was a wonderful Romance and I highly recommend it!

Maia is to participate in an eating contest when she runs into an amazing Adonis while receiving a massage that leads to life changing events. Three amazing men enter her life to protect her from a supernatural force. Past secrets are revealed and each person is not who they thought they were.

This was a fascinating and creative story that was easy to follow. The author did a magnificent job with character development and the various settings. Maia had an interesting appetite and I was amazed at how much food she was able to put away. She was an excellent lead female. I also love all the men in this novel. Amos, Silas, Rhett, and even Adam all had amazing personalities and were entertaining and protective of Maia. This was an excellent read and I highly recommend it. I cannot wait to read more in this series.

After Wrath was exciting, emotional, and full of action. I feel it was just as good as book one and a great addition to this series. I do recommend reading book one before reading this second installment. There is a lot that provides back story to this novel in book one. Aleksander is the main character of this novel and he steps in to revenge his brother Seban and reclaim his brother’s territory. He seeks those who got away in book one. I loved the development of his character in this short novel and also the affect Kitty had on him. I really enjoyed this easy to read novel and highly recommend it. I cant wait to see what more this author has in store.

Wrath was an action packed steamy romance. There was not a dull moment in this storyline at all. I was captured by the authors writing from page one. Konstandin was an excellent character. He fought hard for love and had to face the hardest decision ever by going against his own blood. He grew up in a life full of torture, pain, cruelty, and death. He chose to change for Jade aka Rea. I loved his focus and determination despite his injuries. This was such an excellent and action packed novel. I can’t wait to see what is in store for book two. I highly recommend this book!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Out Of The Box Collection (A Second Chance Romance Series, The Complete 3 Book Collection) by Jennifer Theriot

5-stars

Out Of The Box Collection features three novels by Jennifer Theriot hat cannot be read as standalone books. I love having them grouped together since each one picks up where the other ended. The collection features the novels Awakening, Regifted, and Everlasting. The novels follow Ash Harper and Olivia Peterson. Awakening introduces these two amazing characters as Olivia comes to terms with her husband leaving her. The second book, Regifted, continues to follow these two as they live and figure life as a newly engaged couple while Olivia also embraces a new version of herself. Book three, Everlasting, continues to follow the engaged couple as tragedy strikes. Their love is challenged in this third novel more than any.

I loved the character development in all of these books. Ash and Olivia’s families become blended and I love how accepting everyone was of each other. There were many times I was literally laughing out loud and other times when I would tear up for one of the characters. The storyline was easy to follow in these books and it was edited well. The settings were descriptive and easy to visualize. I appreciated the focus on love and family. This emotionally investing collection is definitely worth 5 stars and I highly recommend it.

Impact is the second book I have read in this series and can be read as a standalone. The story focuses on main character Manuel aka Manny. I love how in depth the author goes into his back story with this novel. The life he led from an early age was difficult and something I hated that he had to live through. I do feel that it helped him become strong and independent in the long run. The supporting characters also had amazing detail and development. I felt that the story was also easy to follow and organized. The story would switch from present to past but the author labeled each section accordingly to keep the reader focused and moving forward. This was such an excellent book and I highly recommend it. I definitely look forward to reading more from this author.

5-Stars

The Immigrant follows main character Ledah as she begins her latest journey on American soil. This novel can be read as a standalone but many characters mentioned are in other books featured in the Italian Saga series. I love Ledah’s character as she attempts to embrace all the crazy American ways. The way she went about entering the country though and all the hoops she had to go through had me stressed reading it. I couldn’t imagine doing that myself. I admire how independent and intelligent she is. This novel was an excellent read and I highly recommend it.

Past Storm And Fire was a creative and interesting novel. It seemed very realistic and was descriptive. The storyline featured many interesting characters. Main character Val was interesting to follow as she created her novel which in turn seemed to realistic and sets out to determine if it was. She was so creative and strong. I disliked her husband Karl at the start of the novel and it seemed to stick as I finished reading. She deserved better than him. His character really shined through at the start right after the Hurricane. This novel was definitely a fun an interesting read.

The Vampire Queen (Wheel Of Crowns Book 3) by Brandi Elledge

5-stars

The Vampire Queen is book three in this amazing and exciting series. It cannot be read as a standalone and picks up where book two ends. The novels main characters are Tandi and Stephan who are originally introduced in the first two books. Tandi is turned into a vamp by Stephan, the Prince of Vampires, and has a uniqueness not seen in other vamps. She has more of her humanity in place still. An old flame of Stephans, who happens to be the Queen of Vampires, becomes jealous of her and sets out to cause trouble why the two work to avenge the death of a friend and find one of the coveted keys.

Tandi was a magnificently created character. I loved her witty comments and her personality. Stephan was portrayed as tough but that seemed to be a front to hide his feelings for Tandi. I immediately did not like the queen. She fit the antagonist role well.

This novels storyline was easy to follow and the setting for every scene was descriptive and engaging. I think this book is my favorite thus far. I look forward to more in this series.

5-stars

Demon’s Angel can be read as a standalone novel even though it is part of the Satan’s Devils Colorado Chapter series. Its main characters are Violet and Demon. Demon has some back story in book one but it is also explained in this novel.

The storyline was easy to follow and easily caught my attention from the start. Being a mom, Violet and her little one, Theo, tugged at my heart. I disliked her character at first for attempting to abandon her son but my opinion changed as the realization of why was revealed. Demon was an interesting character as well. He had a very tough persona that he would portray most of the time, hiding his soft heart within.

This was a wonderful novel. I recommend it for mature readers due to mention of rape, sexual content, torment, and profanity. I really enjoyed this second book and look forward to more in this series.

The Mourning Islands by Douglas Wells was suspenseful, mysterious, and creative. Main character Talmon is hired to keep an eye on someone working on a new resort. Little did he know that his employers have ulterior motives. He is pulled into something he is very unsure of in the process after a mysterious death leads to revealed secrets.

Talmon himself seemed to be an interesting and knowledgeable character. I felt that he had a decent control on his PTSD and I enjoyed the tid bits mentioned of his childhood. The story had a great storyline and every setting was descriptive and engaging. I enjoyed reading this novel and all its characters. Easily a 5-star read.

Next Door Knight (( A Man’s Best Friend Romance) Man’s Best Friend Series Book 2) by Nicole Flockton

5-Stars

Next Door Knight by Nicole Flockton was sweet and romantic. Kerry and her therapy dog Willow recently moved to the area to help her dad who is recovering from two broken legs. She meets her attractive yet moody neighbor Caleb after Willow gets loose. Caleb has been struggling with loss, PTSD, and many other emotions when he meets them. Little did he know how much his life would change after that fateful encounter. Kerry also had her own secrets that she overcame following that meeting.

Caleb and Kerry were two very exciting people to follow as they faced their demons. I loved that Willow seemed to ease them through their emotions easily with just her presence. Their sweet romance blossomed in this novel. The conversation between the two had me laughing and crying at times.
The character development of all individuals in this novel was wonderful and the story itself was easy to follow. The setting for each scene was easy to picture and very detailed. This is the first novel I have read in this series and I look forward to reading more. It can be read as standalone.

The Queen Of Witches is a fast paced and easy to read novel that can be read as a standalone in this series. It follows main character Charlie and Jamison as they search for a lost key. Talon is the antagonist in this novel who is very secretive and persuasive. He seemed charming at first though. I loved how honest and straight forward Jamison’s character was. He basically laid everything down before helping Charlie learn to control her new powers. Charlie was definitely my favorite character because she had so many similarities to myself. I loved that she trusted her but and let her bff Tandi be part of everything. The storyline was addictive and easy to follow since it was full of amazing characters. My imagination went wild with this novel. I look forward to reading more in this series and definitely recommend not only this book but the first book in this series as well.

Avery is the main female lead character in this novel who has developed what seems to be a complex because no one believed her story from when she was chased at a young age.
