I don’t even know where to begin with my praise for this amazing book! Once I started it I couldn’t put it down and finished it within the same day! I’m not a big fan of mystery books, but this one certainly derailed my expectations! I definitely reccomend this book to anyone who enjoys a good page turner! I absolutely loved it and plan on reading it again soon!

These are new authors to me so I wasn’t sure what to expect. This story is a retelling of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, but with a steampunk twist. I felt like it started off a bit slow. Once it picked up, I enjoyed the adventure. I loved the way the Djinn elements were re-imagined, and the mix of mechanics and magic. It’s a slow burn story, but definitely a good read.

This author definitely has a brilliant way with words. She creates a storyline that is engaging and captivating, is mentally visual and full of detail along with some epic characters. You never have to be worried about having a lack of adventure in this read, its continuous. Its an exciting read that’s full of twists and turns. I loved Kat’s characters from the start and to carry on watching her grow through this read with everything she goes through show how much of a strong character she is. This is a brilliant read that should be read by all lovers of fantasy, it was exciting to read and i can’t wait to read more!

Phoenix Team 1 by Claire Luana is a 4 star read. Zariya Chanji is half naga, half human raised by her father after her mother died in childbirth. When he father dies she knows something isn’t right about the story she’s been told, she’s convinced he was murdered and will do whatever it takes to find out the truth. This book started off quite slow and I struggled to get passed the first few chapters but I’m glad I stuck with it because it turned out quite good.

5 Star Sex-O-S; The Tragicomic Adventure of an Italian Surviving the First Time (Italian Teens, novel 2, The Italian Saga) by Gaia B Amman
Wow What a story, I highly recommend if you haven’t already read the previous books in this series to read them as they follow Leda. First off teenage years can honestly suck and you have to make the best of any situation. There’s peer pressure and raging hormones and it’s hard enough adjusting to all the changes a teenager goes through. With that being said I found myself a bit emotional at times with everything Leda was dealing with. She’s in love with Nico who is considered a bad boy. Leda isn’t read to go to all the way, will he wait ? Will she change for him? Find out what happens next in this series absolute must read. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Arrows Tipped With Honey is the second book in the Natural Forces seriesby Jean Gill. As this is my first read from Ms. Gill, I really didn’t know what to expect from her writing. But the premise intrigued me, as did the cover. So, I took a chance and grabbed myself a copy. I didn’t initially register that this is book two to a continuing series, but a short way into the story I realised- and so I closed and set aside this book while I went back to read book one, first. So, if you haven’t read book one yet, I highly recommend reading that story before embarking on this book. This story continues from book one, so there is a lot of important information, backstory, and character details in the first book- which will enhance your appreciation and enjoyment of this story. This is a very original and imaginative YA fantasy adventure story- with action, drama, political intrigue, magic, danger, and a little romance. There’s a bit of a dystopian feel to this fantasy- and it’s all brought to life by Ms. Gill’s superb world-building abilities. It is a wonderfully detailed and descriptive story- so much thought, skill, heart, and soul was put into the creation of this book. Reading was more like ‘watching’ everything unfold, as the imagery was so well crafted. From the characters, to the scenery, and all the other captivating details, I could see and ‘feel’ it all. There were emotive elements, as well as times when I was held in suspense wondering how things would play out. I read the two books back to back and enjoyed every minute. The ending has me clamouring to get my hands on Book Three ASAP! Fantastic!

I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. The authors writing skills are really good and her attention to detail makes the stories that much better. This story has gods, humans and everything in between. The story was brought to life by the characters and I couldn’t get enough of them. There is twists and turns that our main character Kat goes through and her life goes haywire. Unsure of where she is going we join her on her journey and it is an interesting one. I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future. Happy Reading!

Bargaining Hero High Book 3 By Mina Chara ☆☆☆☆☆ This is a Young Adult fantasy story. This book should be read after Denial and Anger. Bargaining picks up where Anger left off. You are in the future built around the fantasy world. By reading the in order, you will become familiar with all of the characters. You will also find growth, as Friday tries to figure out what she really wants. Remembering Friday is also still being watched and is trying to lay low.
Mina Chara has continued to keep the YA’s entertained with this the third book in her series. It is a must read, loaded with fantasy and adventure. Included are the superheroes, all while keeping them reading. Big props to Mina Chara for encouraging teens to read. Adults would also enjoy this short story as well.

This is the first book I have read from this author and she got my full attention. I absolutely love a good psycho thriller but this author exceeded all my expectations. This book contains two novellas of two very different teenage girls. You will have a love and hate relationship with these girls but it will definitely open your eyes. I was so addicted to these stories I read them both in one day. I can’t wait to see what this author will write next.
The first novella was about a teen girl named Tess. She is dealing with Schizophrenia brought by her brother’s death. Tess has a hard time making friends because she is a weird girl. She has two best friends Ed and Monique. Tess loves her friends and one day she tells Ed that she really loves him. Will Tess get what she is looking for or will something else come along?
The second novella is about a college girl named Evelyn. She is very confident and always gets her way. Evelyn is in complete shock when she finds out that she doesn’t get her way in something that really matters. She ends up doing some horrible things to herself and others. Will someone stop her before it’s too late?

Wow! Just wow! I don’t mind telling you, I read this book from cover to cover in one sitting. Because….Yes it is that good. This is a story about perfection. Who says what perfection is? Is it the same for all? Should it be? And if it’s not what happens to the “others”? Such great characters and such a wonderful world the author has led us to. Although Arrows Tipped with Honey (Natural Forces Book 2) by Jean Gill is the second of this series, it was my first read through this world. I will be rectifying that issue before dawn tomorrow. In many ways this book reflects some of the social change that is going on in our world today, but it is so skillfully written you almost don’t notice. If you are looking for a great adventure….Read this Book!

Lucifer’s Emblem: A Paranormal Academy Romance (Celestial Academy Book 1) by Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk
This book drew me in from the beginning and I had a hard time putting it down. Zuri, daughter of Lucifer, has a very strong personality and she’s a little rough around the edges. She is determined to find the stolen relic no matter what, especially since she knows it will be her responsibility one day. Myriam, who is archangel Michael’s daughter, is a very needy girl who doesn’t get a lot of attention from her father. These two unlikely allies are trying to work together to catch the thief and retrieve the relic. There are always two sides to a story and it seems that Zuri has no problem telling the side of the story that the kids at the academy haven’t been told. This book took me on an adventure full of detail, great world building, wonderful characters, danger and more. I found this story to be original and very entertaining, I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. I highly recommend this book.

Life’s a Witch is the third book in Carrie Pulkinen’s paranormal series called New Orleans Nocturnes. Obviously we are strolling in NOLA among the supernatural and the way this story goes we go to the hell and back! Life’s a Witch is the story of Crimson Oliver, a witch who fails at every single spell she has ever tried (as we learnt in book two), and Mike Cortez, hotter-than-hellfire recovering demon, devil’s advocate to make all your dreams to come true … so I guess you can already guess what is going to happen and knowing that every single one of Crimson’s spell goes wrong then why would this ‘dreams come true’ go right? Carrie is bringing Jane and Sophie along on a ride that Crimson is taking in the Big Easy with a detour to hell and facing the High Priestess in a showdown of magic so there is no boring moment here and I truly hope that this is not the end to the series though we have had vampires, werewolves, demons, witches so who are we missing? Oh yeah, faeries so here you go, there is more of the supernatural world to come lay havoc on New Orleans!

Enemies of Doves by Shanessa Gluhm was a wonderful read. This was a new author for me and I was impressed with the writing style and how quickly I was pulled in. It had an easy flow and I felt that it was well organized as well. Even with the different chapters going back and forth to different years was easy to keep up with. I loved it. I honestly could not put this book down and I am excited to see what this author creates in the future. Great read.

This is a set of two novellas from Zarina Macha whom I had read before and was certain I needed to read these as well as soon as I saw them. I have to start off with the major trigger warning I think just needs to be said. These books are not for the faint of heart when it comes to topics such as, substance abuse, rape, severe mental illness, and many more heavy topics that come with those together as well. The concepts and other literary and also other media forms that were pulled in and used were unique and I enjoyed the aspect. I will say overall these two novellas lacked a bit for me. Not in content because that is for sure there but in the way that I wanted to connect with these two women and really feel the emotion and the turbulence that the author wanted to achieve. I struggled to hear their voice and have sympathy for them when these books would have done significantly better to me to have had some sympathetic and approachability to them. I overall could get behind Tess more so in ‘Every Last Thought’. I feel as if she had the most potential for me to relate to. These stories do provoke thought and feelings so I have to give them that. I look forward to seeing what other dark topics Zarina Macha will take on in the future and how they will come out.

Be prepared to have your socks knocked off your feet as you get eclipsed in this magical tale following these heroines on their adventures in this book for the ages. This book gives you “Agent of Shield” vibes and I can dig it being a comic book geek. The main characters are heroines, on incredible journeys, and indescribable romances! In this book we follow Zariya Chanji who believes her father was murdered. She’s determined to uncover what happened even if it means breaking into the headquarters of one of the most dominant operations: the Mythical Alliance of Supernatural Creatures also known as MASC. MASC control the way superheroes live she believes they had a hand in her father’s murder but she’s not certain of why. When her exploration leads her to the arms of a handsome vampire who is hot on her trail, she feels closer to the truth. She doesn’t know who to turn to or where to turn as the plot thickens. The struggle is to stay alive to unravel the mystery of her father’s death. This a great read to get wrapped up in at the time of this quarantine and pandemic engulfing us all in fear. It allows us to escape into a different mode. I was surprised and found this book rather entertaining for so many reasons. Check out this page-turner and you won’t be able to put it down as you read cover to cover!

This is a great suspenseful mystery, with plenty of twists that keep you guessing, the author had me gripped from page one. In 1932, Joel Fitchett wanders into a diner in East Texas, Joel is 12 years old and has obviously been badly beaten, he is also carrying his brother Clancy, who is unconscious. Thirteen years later the two brothers are plagued with horrific memories of that night and Joel has been left physically scared on his face but the two still deny to police that they remember anything having made a pact together to hide the truth. Joel and Clancy then find themselves at the centre of a murder investigation and enter into a second pact, with another lie hoping this will give them a second chance. The story is told in alternating timelines from World War II to 1992. The storyline continues in, 1991 and Garrison Stark, a college student travels to Texas to find Clancy Fitchett who has been missing since 1946 and who he believes maybe his biological grandfather. What Garrison uncovers is a tangle of secrets spanning over sixty years involving brothers Clancy and Joel and Lorraine, the woman they both appear to have loved. This novel had me hooked from page one and I devoured it as I literally could not put this book down, a sign of a great read. It has a fast paced storyline which flows well and the narrative is well written, I liked how the story was told in two different timelines. The story is all about family secrets, jealousy and deception and I found it a five star read.

Phoenix Team One: Selected (Mythical Alliance: Phoenix Team Book 1) By Claire Luana 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the story Phoenix Team One: Selected (Mythical Alliance: Phoenix Team Book 1) by Claire Luana. It is a fast-pasted book that hooked me in from the start. It is a story that includes action, danger, mystery, and secrets. I loved reading about the character of Zariya Chanji. She is convinced that her father’s death was murder and is determined to uncover the truth. Will she find the truth about her father’s death? Her investigation draws the attention of a powerful vampire. Who is he? How much danger is Zariya in? Will she be able to tell who is her friend and who is her foe? Read this book to find out. This is an exciting and wonderful story to read. Zariya is a character that I couldn’t help but root for to find the answers that she is searching for. I also enjoyed reading about the other characters that are part of the story. I love reading fantasy books and this one is a good example of the reason why. I loved reading about the mythical creatures and the agency MASC: the Mythical Alliance of Supernatural Creatures. Don’t miss out on an exciting story that I didn’t want to put down until the final page. I highly recommend reading it.

Forgotten Truth Trilogy: Book One (The Forgotten Trilogy 1) By Virginia Wine 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the story Forgotten Truth Trilogy: Book One (The Forgotten Trilogy 1) by Virginia Wine. It is a story that pulled me in right from the beginning and I was hooked. I loved reading about the characters of Nathaniel James Jr and Bryer Reid. Bryer is a woman who had been betrayed in the past. She is strong and independent however she also finds it hard to trust. She also has a strong attraction to Nathaniel. Nathaniel is a man who doesn’t do relationships. There has been no one that has made him want more than something casual. He finds himself deeply attracted to Bryer. There is both chemistry and wild attraction between Nathaniel and Bryer. They both believe that their feelings are telling them that they belong together. Secrets are being revealed. Will those secrets break Nathaniel or set him free? Will Bryer give Nathaniel her trust? Read this book to find out. This is a story that is at times emotional. It has heartbreaking moments. There are also times of suspense that had me wondering what was going to happen next. There are romantic scenes included. I enjoyed reading about the bantering that goes back and forth between Nathaniel and Bryer. I also enjoyed reading about how the additional characters interacted with Nathaniel and Bryer. Some are good friends and give them advice and support when needed. Don’t miss out on a book that you will not be able to put down until you have read the final page. I highly recommend it.

I give Kat’s Conundrum (Raven and Hummingbird Book 3) by Nikki Broadwell, 4 stars.
This book is a good continuation of the story. Throughout the book, Kat mostly feels lost, not remembering who she is or what her destiny is. However, trying to discover these things is not as easy as you would think. Obstacles of all sorts are constantly thrown in her path, and she must decide on her own what to do. Will she do the right thing?
This is book three in the series and you really have to read the first two to fully follow this book. There are a lot of good characters in here. Some you dislike, some need an attitude adjustment, but others you embrace. There are a few whom I really hope to see quite a bit more of in the future. There are many secondary characters in this book and they really are what make this such a wonderful read. The story itself is quite good and interesting too. There are many places Kat travels to, and many things she encounters. Something new is always happening, there is not a moment of boredom. You quite often wonder just what is going on or what will happen next. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
If you are a fan modern fantasy, this book and series is for you.

Whoa! So I finished this book yesterday, and i still cant think of the right words to thoroughly express how amazing this story is. Its no surprise that I just am not a big fan of timeline swaps but after a bit I was ok with it as for this story you absolutely need it. Ok so how do you put into words a review for this, because I want to say it all but then it may ruin it for someone else as they’d feel I told the story here. And I don’t want to be vague and just say “go pick up this book” but for real go get this book, lock yourself away for a day and read it! The characters, the stories, and the feelings! I haven’t been this invested then wrong in a book as many times as i was in this. Twists, turns, secrets and discovery. Its all here. Amazing and I’ll be on the lookout for more from this author!

Bargaining by Mina Chara is the third book in the Hero High series. Friday’s story continues in another fast paced story. Her life is changing rapidly, and she is trying to figure out who is actually on her side. She finds out people have ulterior motives, and she has to figure out what she wants to fight for. Will she make the right decisions? I have enjoyed these books. They are quick, action packed reads about a young lady who just wants to find her place in the world. Be it she has super powers, but she is still relatable. I really enjoy the characters and the story line. I look forward to reading more in the future from this author.

This book had me excited from the moment I read the synopsis. I knew it was going to be a good read and I wasn’t let down. I’ve never read a book by Shanessa Gluhm, and I’m so glad I gave this one a go. It was well worded, great plots and even more amazing characters. IF I could give this more than 5 stars I would hands down. In this tale we meet Joel, Clancey, Lorraine, Garrison and Molly. There are other important characters you’ll meet, but these are basically our mains. Part of the effect this book had on me was because it’s set in two different time frames. Joel, Clancey and Lorraine are whose lives we are in when the time setting is 1940’s. Then we jump to the 1990’s with Garrison and Molly. This book has it all- Love, loss, bad guys, plots to keep you interested and so much in between.

This is a nice short story. We follow Lilandra and her attempts to get the Seal of Solomon. We run across humans, vampires, werewolf’s and half-giants. Her travels take her far and put her against her worst enemy. Hope. This is enjoyable. I read this fairly quickly and liked the action and suspense.

I enjoyed this paranormal story from beginning to end. This is one of my favorites by this author. This is a story that has lots of action, suspense and of course a hot, steamy vampire. Zarlya is convinced her father has been murdered. She is determined to find his killer but in the course of her investigation others take notice of her. The deeper she gets in her investigation the more dangerous it becomes but she is close to finding the killer. Will she survive long enough to find them? The action will keep you turning pages and the vampire will heat them up. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Madeline Ridley had all she’d ever dreamed of: a handsome, successful husband, a place at the top of Santa Barbara society, every luxury money could buy. In all respects, her world was perfect…until she awoke in the early morning hours in a strange hotel room, alone, unclothed, with a splitting headache and no clue how she had gotten there.
When Steven Ridley comes home in the middle of a weekday and throws a sheaf of damning photos at her, Madeline’s comfortable world collapses in a swirl of blackmail, sabotage and deceit. Hoping to convince Steven of her innocence, Madeline drives to his office and unwittingly stumbles onto a scene that makes her realize who the real enemy is.
From that point on, Madeline Ridley deconstructs herself, reverting back to Madeline Dawkins in order to salvage what’s left of her life. In the process, she discovers where her true strengths lay, and with those, she steels herself for the battle of a lifetime.
Cynthia Hamilton turned to writing while fighting a mystery illness that went misdiagnosed for nine years. Forgetting that she couldn’t write if her life depended on it, she wrote her first book in secret, just in case it didn’t amount to anything. Nineteen years later, she has written twelve books and published ten of them. She writes general fiction and mystery-suspense novels, as well as some non-fiction. “Once Upon A Lyme…A Tale of Two Journey” documents her harrowing odyssey through late-stage Lyme disease and the unexpected upside of becoming a writer. The Patience of Karma—her latest novel—is the fifth book in her Madeline Dawkins Mystery Series.

Agents of Shield meets Ilona Andrews in this urban fantasy tale filled with fierce heroines, non-stop adventure, and irresistible romance!
My name is Zariya Chanji, and I’m convinced my father was murdered. I’ll stop at nothing to uncover the truth–even if I have to break into the headquarters of one of the most powerful organizations in the world. MASC, the Mythical Alliance of Supernatural Creatures, governs the lives of supes like me, and I know they had a hand in covering up my father’s murder. What I don’t understand, is why.
When my investigation draws the unwanted attention of a MASC vampire who is as handsome as he is powerful, I know I’m close to the truth. But the deeper I get, the more dangers lurk in the shadows, and the harder it becomes to tell friend from foe. The truth will change everything–if I can stay alive long enough to find it.
Claire Luana grew up in Seattle reading everything she could get her hands on and writing every chance she could. Eventually, adulthood won out, and she turned her writing talents to more scholarly pursuits, going to work as a commercial litigation attorney.
While continuing to practice law, Claire decided to return to her roots and try her hand once again at creative writing. She has written and published four fantasy series: the Moonburner Cycle, the Confectioner Chronicles, the Knights of Caerleon, co-written with Jesikah Sundin, and The Faerie Race trilogy, co-written with J.A. Armitage.
She lives in Seattle, Washington with her husband and two dogs. In her (little) remaining spare time, she loves to hike, travel, binge-watch CW shows, and of course, fall into a good book.

Sex-O-S: The Tragicomic Adventure of an Italian Surviving the First Time (The Italian Saga #4) by Gaia B. Amman was a great 5 star read.
We start where we left off in the previous book. This is Leda’s story told in her POV about her first time and the emotions that she deals with, among other things. Nico is Leda’s best friend and the man she has feelings for. Problem is he’s not always nice to Leda. Can she get past the trust issues?
There is so much more to this great read. Leda grows up to be a beautiful young woman and we get a great final book in the series. We get all the teen issues, eating disorders and so much more. My emotions were all over the place, I was laughing and crying at times. We get lots of great characters that added a great element to the story. If you’re looking for a great coming of age series with wonderful characters this is the one for you. 1-click and get started today.
