LinkedLinked by Gaia B. Amman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Linked: Can Empathy Save the United Terrestrial Democracy? was an interesting 4 star read.
This is a sci-fi romance. I was pulled in right from the beginning.

Gaia B Amman brings you into a world that is very unique along with the characters. Naira has been living with the humans and when there is a risk of someone finding out what she is, they come for her. She isn’t happy about it, she hates the Cursoi, but she has plans. Drama is trying to teach and train Naira. Will she be able to go through with her plans?

There were so many great characters. Naira also learns about love. I had some funny moments, and there were some darker ones as well. There are several twist and turns. Overall this was a good read and my first time reading this author. I look forward to reading more from this author to see what other worlds she comes up with. 1-click and get started today.

Taming the Troublemaker (The Hills of Texas Book 3) by Kadie Scott – Review by Michelle Austin

Taming the Troublemaker (Hills of Texas, #3)Taming the Troublemaker by Kadie Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Taming the Troublemaker was a good 4 star read and is book 3 in the Hills of Texas series.
I was pulled right in and didn’t want to stop until I was done.

This is Autry and Beth’s story.
Autry is a cowboy who has a playboy reputation and doesn’t commit to anyone. That is, until he meets Beth. Beth is a school teacher who has gotten Autry’s attention.

Could she cause him to lose the agreement that he has made with his parents?

Beth isn’t the usual girl that Autry is attracted to. She has always had issues with her sisters always getting the boys, including her boyfriends. She has always had a little thing for Autry and when he starts to show interest things get very interesting. She doesn’t make it easy for him, I had some LOL moments.

Overall I really enjoyed this read. I really liked Beth and loved how she would banter with Autry. The secondary characters added a great element to the story as well. Kadie Scott does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. You will enjoy it, this can be read as a stand alone as well. 1-click and get started today.

Seraphina's Revolution (Seraphina #4)Seraphina’s Revolution by Sheena Hutchinson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Seraphina’s Revolution was a great 5 star read and book 4 in the Seraphina series.
I was excited to read how the last book in the series was going to play out and I wasn’t disappointed.

Seraphina has some amazing powers in this book. Things get a little darker as well. Nate is there as a support for Seraphina, sort of an anchor for her. But will he always be there? What will happen when war starts?

There is so much more to this book that I really can’t give much more, without ruining it for the reader. We have on the edge of your seat action and a heck of an ending that will leave you in shambles. The secondary characters added a great element to the story as well. This series really needs to be read in order so that you can follow the story from the beginning. This is a must read series that follows and grows with Seraphina. 1-click and get started right away.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Pandora’s Price was a 5+ star read and book three in the Hart & Cole series. I was pulled right into the story and I didn’t want it to end. I was emotionally exhausted by the time I was done.

This is Darren and Luisa’s story. This is a real story that is not sugar coated. You experience everything right along with them, right down to whether they will continue to stay married.

Can these two work it out before it’s too late?

I really wish I could give more to this review but I don’t want to ruin anything for the reader. Just have the kleenex ready. There is betrayal, love, trust, resentment and so much more. Sasha has done a terrific job of pulling you in with her writing and you feel every emotion right along with the characters. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story as well. I love this series, I highly suggest reading this series starting with book one, but definitely read book two before this one. I can’t wait to get my hands on book four.

Ben is a protector and has been sent to investigate the murders and missing persons cases. Tess ends up helping Ben and they start to grow closer. Can they discover who the killer is? Can they find a HEA with each other?

Turning the Tide (Eastern Shore Swingers Book 5)Turning the Tide by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Turning the Tides was a great 5 star read and book five in the Eastern Shore Swingers series.
Phoebe Alexander has once again pulled me right in with her writing, I was an emotional mess by the time I was done.

Luke is in a marriage that has no emotional or physical connection other than the abuse from his wife Barbara (who I despised very much). When his friend invites him to The Factory, a swingers club he meets Connie. There is something about her that draws him in, it’s been a long time that he has felt anything like what she brings out in him.

Connie has moved to Ocean City to be near her sister. When she meets Luke at the club there is something about him that gets her attention. Fate brings them together again when Luke meets the new nurse at his practice. Where will they go from here? Can Connie help Luke forget all his problems?

Overall I really enjoyed this book, Connie and Luke were great for each other. We get all sorts of great scenes with these two. The secondary characters were great, some I liked some I hated. This can be read as a stand alone, however I suggest reading all the books so you can connect with all the characters. I highly recommend this series. I look forward to reading more from Phoebe Alexander.

An Appointment was a great 5 star read and book four in the Summer in New York series.
This can be read as a stand alone.

I was pulled in right from the beginning. My heart went out to Savannah as she was struggling to find out what was going on with her son and of course I was tearing up when the truth came out. The truth put her between a rock and a hard place on what her next step would be. Her ex-husbands family is very influential and could cause problems for her.

Preston is a Dr. that took over for his father, he wasn’t who Savannah expected but she didn’t have a choice, she needed someone to see her son. He was great, you could tell he cared right from the beginning. He connected so well with both Savannah and her son, who I loved.

Both of them have sworn off relationships but there is something drawing them together, you could feel the chemistry coming off the pages. Can these two put their walls down and let each other in? Can they have a HEA?

His First Lady was a good 4 star read.

Michael is in the presidential race and his campaign manager is pushing him to find a first lady. He’s not thrilled about it but finally agrees to it.
We need a First Lady to keep you out of trouble and to appeal to the electorate.

Kendall is Michael’s speech writer but when he called her in for a meeting to discuss a scheme she was floored, it was not what she was expecting. Michael was very convincing and Kendall finally agreed to help him. The only thing she didn’t expect were the feelings that were starting to flare up the more time she spent with him. Michael was also starting to see Kendall in a different light as well.

Will he let his guard down and let her into his heart? Can these two have a HEA?

Captivated by the Millionaire was a great 4 star read.

Jess is an artist and loves working with children. She is painting a castle mural on the wall of a child’s bedroom getting it ready for when the family moves in. This is when she meets Jordan, the first meeting didn’t go well and they clearly started off on the wrong foot. Jordan was irritated with her and made her leave without letting her finish.

Jordan is a millionaire who has recently gotten custody of his 6 year old sister, Sonya. He is hardened against any relationships due to what he watched his father go through and his two priorities are his job and sister. Needless to say Jordan ends up eating crow and apologizing to Jess for his actions.

What manner of sorceress was this young lady? She beguiled him. Did something to his senses he wasn’t familiar with nor prepared for.

There is so much more to this great read. I loved the connection that Jess had with Sonya and Jordan. They were all meant to be together. Of course nothing comes easy and there were some ups and downs as both Jordan and Jess dealt with their fears of being in a relationship. This is my first read from Nina Singh and I really enjoyed it. I look forward to reading more.

I was pulled right in from the beginning.

We start with Fiora preparing herself for the trials, she is a princess looking forward to her role as Queen. She wants to make her people happy and prove to them she can be a good leader.

Matheas has been with Fiora for years as her protector and trainer. They have grown closer through the years, you can feel the attraction between them, but Matheas knows he can never have her.

You won’t disappoint any man, Fi. Your kiss is like a smooth liquor. It touches in all the right places – Matheas

Matheas really struggled with the monarch trials and suitor phase, jealousy kept rising in him. She had to be courted by four royal men and lets just say it kept things very interesting. There are some blue ball moments and some hot and steamy moments. This was a different genre for me and I loved it. All of the secondary characters were great, Luther grew on my a little as well. Right from the start I was pulled right in. Charlotte was in a living nightmare, she was sold by her mother’s boyfriend and was held captive by a local gang. What they would do to her was heartbreaking. Until one day she finds herself being taken to a home, where a woman has bought her, Mrs. Ames. There might be a girl of only fourteen standing before her, but that girl’s soul was dead.

At first she isn’t sure what to expect but she starts to let her guard down as she gets to know everyone. This is where she also meets Hawk, Mrs. Ames’s grandson.

Hawk sees it all the time, girls being saved by his grandmother. Using him to show them that not all men are bad. When he saw Charlotte the first time he was pulled in by her, she was different than the others. Hawk also has been deeply hurt, wondering why he was abandoned. Would my past strangle me and prove me damaged? – Hawk

Two souls desperate to trust, willing to fall, and hopelessly entwined by a string of fate.

These two end up developing a great connection. Hawk was so good to Charlotte. There is so much more to this great read. Your heart goes out to both of them and what they went through, these two were meant for each other in so many ways. Charlotte was a strong character. All of the secondary characters were great. I liked the ending but would love to see more from these two. I look forward to reading more from Kylie, she pulls you right in with her writing.

Shattered Love: Book one of the “Forever Us” series by Nivia Borell – Review by Michelle Austin

Shattered LoveShattered Love by Nivia Borell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Shattered Love was an emotional 5 star read. This is Bria and Damien’s story.

We start with Bria having a birthday party. A party that will allow her to say goodbye. Without him she has nothing. No one can save someone who has no intention, will, or desire to be helped.

Damien had his heart broken by Bria, but he decided to come to her party anyway. He had to see her, something was different about this party. Seven years ago, I found the love of my life, my best friend, my soulmate, my future wife in bed with someone else.

We get a look at past and present told in both POV’s. Damien turned into a heartless playboy, no one knew who he was after everything happened. When we learn about some of the things that Bria went through, my heart broke for her. Don’t expect flowers and sunshine in this book, emotions run high. The secondary characters added a great element to the story, some were terrible. We end on a cliffhanger of wondering what choice Bria will make. I will be waiting impatiently for the next book in this series. This is my first read from Nivia Borell and I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more from her. Well done on your debut.

An Improper Encounter (The Macalisters Book 3) by Erica Taylor – Review by Michelle Austin

An Improper Encounter (The Macalisters, #3)An Improper Encounter by Erica Taylor
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An Improper Encounter was a good 4 star read and book three in The Macalisters series.

Sarah is a widow who is looking for a man to warm her bed. She was challenged by Lady Lydia Hartford, her widowed sister-in-law. They had a reward on the line. The winner is free from anything Radcliff for six whole months.

This is how she meets William. William is on his way to London when he stopped for the night. Intrigued by Sarah, he went along with her little game. These two end up traveling together and start to fall in love. Sarah is finally starting to feel happy again. When William disappears and reappears as a Duke with a pregnant wife, things change drastically.

Is he really married and if so why? Can Sarah and William figure things out and have a HEA?

Overall this was a fun read, I had some LOL moments with the bantering between them. The secondary characters were good, I liked seeing some of the other characters from previous books in the series. You can read this as a stand alone, however it’s best to start with book one. Erica Taylor does a great job of pulling you right in with her writing. I would like to see more from these two since it felt like it ended quickly, we do get a HEA which I was happy with. 1-click and get started today.

Penny For Your Thoughts (Sand Dollar Series Book 1) by JD Boudreaux – Review by Michelle Austin

Penny For Your Thoughts (Sand Dollar Series Book 1)Penny For Your Thoughts by J.D. Boudreaux
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Penny for your thoughts was a good four star read and book one in the Sand Dollar series.

Alex notices a woman on the side of the road with a flat, he turns around to help her and gets more than he bargained for.

Penny is a reporter and when Alex stopped to help her she let him in on a little secret. It seems she had been on the side of the road for hours and he was the only one to stop.

Fate steps in and these two end up running into each other at the mall getting lunch. They move forward from here and get to know each. They both have some things in their past that they are trying to move forward from. It was great reading how their relationship developed and the things that were challenging them.

It may not always be in front of you, but it’s there. My love is always there. -Alex

Maybe not every question leads to an answer, and maybe not every answer stems from a question.

Alex was very kind and had a big heart. Penny was up and down for me overall she was a strong character. The secondary characters added a great element to the story. I was emotionally spent by the time I was done and the ending really threw me for a loop. I need to see where this goes and hope it continues in book 2. J.D. Boudreaux does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. Overall I enjoyed this book and suggest you 1-click and get started today on this series.

Not So Broken (Love Grows Series Book 1) by Renee Regent – Review by Michelle Austin

Not So Broken (Love Grows Series, # 1)Not So Broken by Renee Regent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Not so Broken was a great 5 star read and book one in the Love Grows Series.

We start with Gibson who is living in Tilly, GA. He has been living like a recluse for the last few months grieving and trying to move forward with his life. When his father calls and gives him a deadline on coming back home, he has to decide if he will ever be ready to return.

Sacha went to Tilly to sell some alcohol to the local establishments. She is also nursing a broken heart and isn’t ready for anything serious. She ends up meeting Gibson while out at one of the local bars, and they hit it off. They end up having a very steamy one night stand.

Maybe it was the scotch, or maybe I had been pent up too long. I found myself hoping for much more than a dance with this woman tonight.

When Sasha returns to Tilly she has some shocking news for Gib. Sasha was in shock with the news herself, it was something she never thought could happen. Will the news finally bring Gib home? Will it bring him and Sasha together as a couple?

There is so much more to this great read. Gib and Sasha tested my patience at times, especially Sasha. My emotions were all over the place. Renee Regent pulled me right in with her writing. I wouldn’t mind seeing more from Gib and Sasha and I look forward to reading more from this series.
