Michael’s Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Michael's HeartMichael’s Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Michael’s Heart was a 4 star read for me. I have never read any other books by this author and wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about this book. I enjoyed reading this book. The characters were all loved and I feel like they all belonged. Some authors throw characters into the story and they have no purpose. This book has many well liked, well developed characters.
Colbie is looking to start up a dream. She wants to build a safe place for women to make life choices that will impact them for the rest of their lives. When she gets a letter in the mail from the staff at Hightower Television Network, her life changes. She nearly died that day while driving to visit her best friend but, she had a guardian angel. From that moment on, everything revolved around him.

When Colbie shows up at HTN for the final part of the contest she meets a few people who will become very important people in her life. The Hightower’s become like family even though they don’t share the same blood.
I love how the rare blue forget-me-nots always show up and will continue to show up to let Colbie
know she is never alone.

The Matchmaker’s Match (Man’s Best Friend Book 3) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Michelle Mulvey

The Matchmaker's Match (Man's Best Friend, #3)The Matchmaker’s Match by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Matchmakers Match is Book 3 in the series and is just as good as the others in the series. I love any kind of romance, second chance or basically anything with dogs. These books all have dogs in them. Not just any dog but the dog holds important roles in the story itself.

In this book, Linc and Meredith meet one night and have the best night. Meredith is nursing a broken heart and figures she will throw caution to the wind and have fun for once. When she meets Linc he is everything her body could ever want in a man. She thought he said his name was Luke and he never corrected her. The next morning she is gone without a trace. These two thought they would never see each other again but, we know better don’t we? About a month later they see each other in church. It just so happens Linc is the best man and Meredith is the maid of honor in a wedding. What are the chances?
Meredith has to leave the rehearsal because of massive pains she is having and Linc is the one to take her out of there.
This is messing up all Meredith’s plans. She plans to have a baby on her own and doesn’t want a man in her life. Linc and Meredith try to fight the feelings they have for each other but it’s useless. The chemistry between them is insane even though a bunch of stuff happens between them they are both falling for each other hard! Then you throw the rescue dog into the mix.
What would’ve happened if Linc didn’t leave the army and set up that interview? Fate has a funny way of making things happen when they need to. Loved this book and cannot wait for more.

Too Hot To Handle (The Catch Series Book 3) by Avery Scott – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Too Hot to Handle (The Catch, Book 3)Too Hot to Handle by Avery Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Too hot to handle by Avery Scott was a great read. There wasn’t to much of anything in it. I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to more from this author. This was a happy read for me.
Tony is at a VIP event for “Catch” a friends reality tv show airing and all he really wants to do is be home or some place quieter. He spots a gorgeous girl trying to get into the VIP area and the bouncers are giving her a hard time. She’s clearly drunk and Tony decides to help her by saying she is with him so they will allow her to the VIP area.
Georgia is a woman who was recently engaged to someone who was on the reality show and basically just forgot he was engaged and is now engaged to someone new. A real jerk if you ask me. Georgia hasn’t had an easy life. She’s always trying to fit into a mold of what her step mother and step sisters are like. She reminds me of Cinderella a bit.
The night at the club, Tony sees her obviously under a lot of stress and takes her home but doesn’t try anything. He’s a perfect gentleman. The next morning they part ways only to run into each other again when Tony goes on a EMS call. What are the odds? Fate has a funny way of making things like this happen.
Tony and Georgia become friends and Tony decides to help Georgia win back the love of Chaz. They act like a couple when they go out hoping to make Chaz jealous. There’s only one problem with that plan. Georgia is beautiful and Tony is a sweet, amazingly sexy firefighter and they are beyond attracted to each other. What will happen when Chaz and Georgia are face to face again? What will happen when Tony and Georgia give it a shot as a couple and then Tony finds out about how Georgia and Chaz ran into each other when Tony abruptly left after her family treats him like garbage? Definitely a great read you won’t want to miss out on. 5 stars!!!

Girl Trap (A Madeline Dawkins Mystery Book 3) by Cynthia Hamilton – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Girl TrapGirl Trap by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Girl Trap by Cynthia Hamilton was a book that was written well. I liked the plot, the suspense was insane and the book kept me mostly interested. There was to much going on at once. I felt the book was a lot for one book. Mike and Madeline were in 2 different places and it kept going back and forth every other chapter was about the other person. They were working two totally different cases so I feel like, going back and forth was pointless. I was more interested in Mike’s case but just when I thought I was going to get something good, the next chapter was about Madeline. Maybe this could’ve been two different books? Not sure! With that being said, I can’t believe what Madeline uncovered and Mike…..he’s good!!! I liked the characters as they were characters from previous books but there were quite a few others too.
Will there be a happy ending insight for all involved? Can Mike and Madeline both solve the cases they have or do they work better as a team?

Children of the Future by Jane Suen – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Children Of The FutureChildren Of The Future by Jane Suen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Children of the Future was a quick read for me. I have read other books by this author but, this was alittle different from what I’m used to. The local bus driver Telly shows up at the end of the school day and there is no one in sight. He checks the playground, the classrooms, the halls and every where he could think. The school children and teachers are all gone. He’s about to leave and he hears a sneeze. One of the school children named Billy was hiding in a small area. He seemed frightened and said he didn’t want to go and decided to hide. No one knows where all the missing kids and teachers are. All the locals come to take search shifts and look all over. Just when you think they will find the missing people, it turns out to be a dead end. Will the missing people ever be found? Will Telly give up or will he keep looking for answers?

A Protector’s Touch by Parker Sinclair – Review by Michelle Mulvey

A Protector's TouchA Protector’s Touch by Parker Sinclair
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Protector’s touch was a informative read. It may be a hard topic for some who have experienced abusive relationships but, it may also help those too.
April thought she was weak but, she was far from it. She lived a very sheltered life and once she got to college she started dating one of the cute soccer players. He was abusive and didn’t deserve her. Thankfully, she had a great friend to help her through everything and also a support group. There was also a guy named Shan who showed April that everyone deserves a happy ending. He tried to show April she was not broken in any way. Shan knowns what it’s like to be around an abusive relationship because someone close to him that he loves dearly was in the same situation. April got off lucky considering what the other person endured. April has a team cheering her on which makes it easier take the legal route when the college doesn’t help her. This book had a bit of suspense and was totally worth it. When I was about 75% done with the book I was like wow, I cannot go to bed now….I need to know what happens!!! Great ending.
There were some great characters in the book and a few that made you want to punch someone. An overall good read!

A High Price To Pay (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 2) by Cynthia Hamilton – Review by Michelle Mulvey

A High Price to Pay (Madeline Dawkins, #2)A High Price to Pay by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A High Price to Pay is Book 2 In the series and picks up 3 years after book 1. Madeline and Mike have successfully completed what was needed to become licensed PI’s. They are also running a party planning business. Madeline is planning the party of the year for a fortieth birthday to a high profile client. She is earning every dollar she makes on this case. Cherie Alexander has quite a few melt downs and now with the party here, they are more frequent. As the weekend approaches, Cherie’s mother In law ( Ms Story ) hired Madeline to locate some missing jewelry.
Everyone thought Teresa has stolen the pieces so a background check is run on her. Unfortunately, they do not have the correct info on Teresa.

All of this is happening while a madman is on the loose after Madeline. She tries to keep herself busy with Cherie’s party and Miss Story’s case but, no matter how busy she keeps herself, things are still happening to remind her that he is still tailing her.

The night of Cherie’s party someone is murdered at the mansion. Who could have pulled it off with so many people there and cameras in the house?

Madeline and Mike are hard at work to find the killer. So much suspense is in this book. It’s a great addition the to series. Madeline is one tough cookie.

Beachcomber Enemy: a Romantic Thriller (Beachcomber Investigations Book 10) by Stephanie Queen – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Beachcomber EnemyBeachcomber Enemy by Stephanie Queen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beachcomber Enemy by Stephanie Queen is Book 10 of the Beachcomber Investigations Series. This book had me hooked from the very first line. The author gave just enough romance and action to keep just about any reader interested. The characters played a big part of why this book got 5 stars from me.

Dane and Shana are an awesome couple. They have a certain kind of relationship that you don’t see everyday. They love each other so much and try to protect each other no matter what is at stake. Dane is a total Alpha but Shana is such a strong character that really doesn’t need anyone to protect her.

When Dane comes home smelling gas, he goes I same trying to find Shana and get her out of the shack. They make it far enough away that they are not in danger when something happens. They fake their deaths and run to close friends did for help. They think they know who is after them. It’s someone from Shana’s past. They make a plan to go incognito to their funeral to try to find the suspect. However, Dane has other plans. He doesn’t want Shana anywhere near there and tries to keep her away. He should know by now that Shana does what she want, when she wants. She is not a delicate flower. When Dane and Shana find out some other information like where the suspect(s) are hiding, this causes even more trouble. Will the good guys win this round or are the bad guys to far ahead in the game. There is so much action going on, I didn’t want to put the book down. I absolutely loved this book.

Salty SebastianSalty Sebastian by Jen Luerssen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Salty Sebastian by Jen Luerssen is Book 3 In the Smirk Series and was a great second chance romance read for
me. I absolutely loved Frank’s book and the whole gang was back again in this happy, sweet, funny read.
Kit and Sebastian have an amazing one night stand in Vegas whole they are both away attending a convention. It was the best night and morning of both of their lives. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas right? WRONG!!! Kit and Sebastian parted ways and never exchanged names, numbers or even where they lived.

2 years later Kit goes to Thirsty Monkey for a job and Mikey hires her right away. She’s over qualified but she knows her stuff. When Mikey brings Sebastian to meet the new intern she hired, both Sebastian and Kit are speechless. Thoughts of that amazing, hot night come rushing back in their minds. How is Kit going to be able to work for Sebastian and how is Sebastian going to be able to get any work done with Kit as one of his employees.

Both Kit and Sebastian are very hot and cold with each other but the attraction is there and they cannot deny they both have feelings for each other. What will happen when a big secret is brought to light after they finally have another amazing night? Will they be able to see past this secret? No one is really at fault but it happened and now it must be dealt with. Amazing characters, great storyline and this was just a shiny 5 star read

Spouse Trap: A Madeline Dawkins Mystery (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 1) by Cynthia Hamilton – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Spouse Trap (Madeline Dawkins, #1)Spouse Trap by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Spouse Trap by Cynthia Hamilton was definitely a five star read for me. I was
Literally blown away by this book and I can’t say that very often. This book had it all. I’m typically a romance fan and even though this book was lacking in romance it touched on everything else.

Madeline Ridley had the perfect life. She had money, friends, organized social gatherings and a perfect marriage as she thought. One night at a function she gets into an argument with her husband Steven and he leaves her there. She wakes up the next morning in a hotel room with no memory of what happened the previous night. She starts looking for Steven only to find she is alone.
When Steven approaches her with incriminating photos of her from the night before with a strange man and tells her he wants a divorce, her life begins to crumble. She doesn’t understand what is going on and thinks she was taken advantage of and possibly drugged.

Madeline hires a PI to help her figure out what happened and who the mystery man in the photos is. Steven is a high profile person with a security detail so she needs to be very secretive. She knows she is being followed. When she finally meets with Burt Latham her new PI, he helps her stay under the radar. When they are unable to find any information on the mystery man, Burt looks into other scenarios. During the week or so since the pictures surfaced, Steven has cancelled Madeline’s credit cards and froze their joint bank accounts. Now she has limited funds and is trying to stay in hiding.
There is a lot of criminal activity surrounding Steven and now it just needs to be proven. Steven sends Madeline to Guam with 1/2 million dollars to get a quick divorce. While she is away her PI ends up getting himself into some trouble.
When Madeline returns early to try to get a jump on things everything goes south.
This book honestly keep me so entertained that even while I was lying in bed, I had the urge to read another chapter.
I couldn’t believe how much action, suspense and heartache could be found in these pages. You definitely don’t want to miss this gem. Looking forward to the next book.

Jake the Growling Dog was a sweet Book. Everyone Jake tried to play with all went away scared and thought he was a mean dog because he growled at them. Jake wasn’t very mean at all. He wanted to have friends and play with the kids but every time they heard his grrr they quickly left. One day a black squirrel named Neet tried to
make Jakes voice sound sweet.
Not every dog who growls is mean. He just didn’t know his sounds scared everyone away. This was a quick sweet book showing how everyone is different.

Edge of the Storm: Book 2 (Silent Secrets)Edge of the Storm: Book 2 by Lisette Kristensen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Edge of The Storm ( Silent Secrets Series #2 ) by Lisette Kristensen was a quick, action packed read.
I haven’t read this author before so I’m not sure what genre they normally write.

This book might be a rough read for some who have issues with terrorism but if you can see past that, your going to love the book. Halo is a spy in Rome and is taken by a group of terrorists planning to destroy the Vatican and she is taken right in front of the others. Will Blackbird be able to come through and save her mentor?

The book was short since it was a Novella but was very fast paced and full of action. The way the book ended, this is not over!

Fierce Emotions by Linda Burson (Marcy Series Book 8) – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Fierce EmotionsFierce Emotions by Linda Burson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fierce Emotions by Linda Burson is the eighth book in the Marcy Series. I would strongly recommend reading the series in order for you to fully understand the story. I have not read all the previous books in the series so I didn’t know what was coming up when I dived into Fierce Emotions.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the series. I thought the books were way to long to keep me entertained. This series continues in each book. Marcy is married to both Liam and Brad. Her parents are ok with their situation but, some of
Brad’s family ( his dad ) has major issues with their arrangement. Brad hasn’t spoken to his father in quite some time and now, his dad is trying to get back in the picture. He seems happy with his 2 grandsons and it seems like he has had a change of heart. Luckily, Liam is there to be able to back up Marcy’s accusations.

Liam, Marcy and Brad have an odd arrangement. Brad and Loam have come a long way since book 2 and both are becoming great friends. They both want the same thing in life. They want Marcy, the mother of their boys to be happy and will do anything for her.

Rage (The Marcy Series Book 1) by Linda Burson – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Rage (The Marcy Series, #1)Rage by Linda Burson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Rage is Book 1 in The Marcy Series by Linda Burson. This book had a lot of suspense in it. I didn’t like the character of Marcy I’m the book because I just felt like she caused her own issues. Just when you think her life is on track she causes more issues.
Marcy is the owner of a coffee shop. She has been dating Brad for a very long time but they start to have problems because she has this rage in her and no one knows why. She just snaps at people for no reason. Brad basicallly tells her, she needs to seek help, or he is gone. Finally she decides to seek out professional help and that makes Brad very happy. They have great times together and then he decides to take their relationship to the next level. Marcy is over the moon with happiness. The reader is happy and thinks this book is on the right track.
Marcy met a man named Liam when her and Brad were having some issues. Liam approaches Marcy after she is involved is a gas station robbery. Of course now that Marcy is happy with the way her life is going, something bad happens. Brad is away for work and keeps trying to reach Marcy but is unable to. She is to busy out all the time with Liam she forgets to charge her cell phone. This causes all sorts of trouble between Marcy and Brad.
Marcy is heartbroken over her recent breakup with Brad and ends up going away for a week with Liam so he can teach her about firearms. He teaches her about different firearms and how to shoot them. Of course during their week together, they get romantically involved. During that time Brad is looking all over for her.
When Marcy comes back home and speaks with Brad, je Fonda our about Liam. And forgives her for being unfaithful which she really wasn’t considering they were broken up.
I just thought this book was very long and had a lot more pages then it needed.
Marcy needs to break off her relationship with Liam if her and Brad will be able to be happy. Will her and Brad be able to go back to the happiness they once had or will everything be ruined because of the plans Marcy has to help Liam with.

Next Door Knight (Man’s Best Friend Book 2) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Next Door Knight (Man's Best Friend #2)Next Door Knight by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The story Next Door Knight (Man’s Best Friend Book 2) by Nicole Flockton was a great read for me. The characters were quite lovable. Kerry is a strong person who has so much going on right now. She had her heart broken and had a lot of work to do getting herself back where she was. Kerry is currently a manager in a restaurant and is also taking care of her dad who is staying with her while he recuperates. He needs around the clock care and Kerry has an agency sending someone to be with her dad while she is at work.
Then there is Caleb….he’s living next door to Kerry. They haven’t met yet and when they do, Caleb seems like the unfriendly, broody but very good looking type. Just like Kerry, Caleb has been thru a lot and is having a hard time moving on from his past.
Willow is Kerry’s sweet adorable Corgi that she had trained to work with veterans. Willow has taken a liking to Caleb and keeps escaping her yard to get to Caleb’s yard. This book had me hooked from the very first page.
This is definitely a book you will want to read. It will give you all the feels. I think Willow was the main character who played the biggest part in this book trying to bring two wounded souls happiness.

Secure Desire: A Chase Group Story by R. L. Dunn – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Secure DesireSecure Desire by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Secure Desire: A Chase Group Story by R. L. Dunn was my first read by this author and I can’t really find any reason to not stalk this authors page to find out when the rest of the series is available. I absolutely loved this book. The characters were strong real men and the they knew how to keep their women safe.

Ian chase is a great main character. He has a chance meeting with Cassie and all the feelings he felt 6 years prior come rushing back. 6 years ago she wore an engagement ring when he met her, and now she doesn’t. He convinces Cassie to go for coffee with him but he doesn’t realize even though Cassie is single, she is very much unavailable.

Cassie is working an assignment with the FBI and is placed at a table with people who are part of her past that she cannot really remember. Well that night, everything come crashing down. Cassie life changes in one horrible night. There are many attempts on her life and with each one, I was on the edge of my seat.
The book had ALOT of characters. Some were known by first name, last name or military nickname so sometimes I had to reread the page to fully understand what I read. This was a dark read when everything is brought up from Cassie’s past and the torture she endured. I’m usually not a fan of dark reads but this was a great read and loved it. I cannot wait for more in this series to get some more of these character!!

Things We Lost (Loving Locksley Book 1)Things We Lost by Shae Banks
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Things We Lost (Loving Locksley Book 1) written by Shae Banks is the first book I’ve read by this author. This book had strong characters and the story kept me interested to find out what was going to happen. I wasn’t sure which way this book was going to go but we all secretly hope, second chances turn into a happily ever after.

Nathalie Johnson walked into an interview she was overqualified for. She wanted this new job because she was sick of the commute and had no challenge in her current job. She was hired on the spot. When she is goes out to celebrate with her best friend ( pretty much her only friend ) Haylie she runs right into the last person she expected to see, her ex-boyfriend Jason Locksley, someone she hasn’t seen in thirteen years. She is shocked to see him and wants to hate him for how he hurt her in the past but there’s no way to deny the attraction they still have to each other. Jason keeps showing up begging for a chance to explain and finally, Nat agrees to meet him for coffee and then eventually dinner.
Both Nat and Jase have secrets. When your trying to start over, secrets can ruin any chance you have.
When Nat find out part of Jase’s secret, she automatically thinks the worst and doesn’t let him explain.
When Nat’s past comes creeping into her future, who will she turn to? Will she be able to count of Jase for support? Also the connection between Jase and Nat is crazy. Not sure if I’d be able to handle that kind of pressure. I thought this was a great read and couldn’t seem to put the book down. It was a happy, hopeful read I found myself rooting for this second chance romance.

Abandoned By Love: Book 1 in the Shattered Hearts Duet by Aleya Michelle – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Abandoned by Love (Shattered Hearts Duet, #1)Abandoned by Love by Aleya Michelle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Abandoned by Love (Shattered Hearts Duet #1) by Aleya Michelle was a great read from beginning to end. I have read one or two books by this author before and I absolutely loved them. This was no different. I was feeling sad and heartbroken reading parts of this book but it was well worth it. Jaxon Mayer and Emily Saunders were the “IT” couple.
Jaxon knew when he spotted Emily that first time that he was in love. He was a jock but he was a sweetheart. He always put Emily first. Emily was in gymnastics and she was amazing. They had everything going for them. Then one night a car accident changed it all. Emily disappeared with no explanation. Jaxon was heartbroken and on a downward spiral. No one has heard from Emily in months and Jaxon starts to wonder if Emily cared for him as much as he cared for her or if it was all a game. When Jaxon and Emily finally come face to face, the secrets are exposed. Can Jaxon forgive Emily? Will they be able to rekindle what they had? I loved this book about young love and possibly a second chance.

Bedlam (A Twisted Hearts Love Story, #1)Bedlam by Autumn Sand
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bedlam A Twisted Hearts Love Story is not the first book I’ve read by Autumn Sand and definitely will not be the last. This author drags you into the story and makes you feel what the characters feel. The characters were amazing and some of them were lovable. Some not so much. This was a dark read and not for the faint of heart but the author expressed that in the blurb.
This book sucks you in from the very first chapter. I was so happy to read some of it and so sad for some of it. I was surprised to see how everything came together and what the plans were. Anaya seemed like a very strong character but, was surprised to see some of the things she put up with in her relationship. I’m looking forward to reading more books by this author.

Don't Let Me (The Simplicit Duet #1)Don’t Let Me by Marie Skye
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Don’t let me by Marie Skye is not the first book I have read by her so I am familiar with her writing but, all I can say is wow!!! I need more ASAP. This book had me a bit confused in the beginning but it all falls into place. The story of Damien, Jaxon and Olivia will suck you in from page one. Everyone’s favorite Mr Mandrake even makes an appearance.

This is a book about two best friends Jaxon and Damien who always have shared what they had. If Jaxon had something Damien wanted, he took it and vice versa. Now with Olivia, something has changed. Damien allows Jaxon to have Olivia for 2 days but that it all and it is never to be spoken about again. Is 2 days enough for Jaxon ? Is 2 days enough for Olivia ? Jaxon disappears and when he comes back into town, he finds out Olivia and Damien are married. Jaxon has his own plans for Olivia. Everything seemed to be going well until Olivia took a trip to visit someone she should’ve never went to see. If you want a taste of a M/F/M read with some great characters, a great story and a lot of heat, this one is for you.

Flirty Dancing: A Spicy Romantic Comedy About the Afterlife (The Green Room Chronicles Book 3) By JD Frettier was a quick read for me. I happened to like this book the best out of the series so far.
Kitty is probably one of the younger women in the green room but she is a happy, friendly person who people like immediately. She was taken away from her children and family in a freak accident. I love how the author has such an imagination and can bring those words to us. There are some character that reappear in this book that were in previous books in the serious.

Turning the Tide (Eastern Shore Swingers Book 5)Turning the Tide by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Turning The Tide is Book 5 in the Eastern Shore Swingers Series by Phoebe Alexander and this author has hit the jackpot with this series. Each book gets better and better. Once I saw this book, I knew I needed to read it ASAP!
Turning the Tide was a little different from the others in the series. Some of it reminded me of Paisley and Calvin’s book with all the crazy action. This book has so much going on and I just kept reading and reading. There was never a dull page.
Luke Cannon is a ENT doctor who happens to be married and pretty good friends with Cap. Luke’s marriage isn’t anything to write home about. His wife is verbally and emotionally abusive. I’m not sure why Luke had stayed with his wife after the last 10 years of torture she has put him through. He manages to stay faithful even though he was
miserable. He finally gives in the Cap’s invitation to go to The Factory. He meets Connie the first night and cannot seem to get her out of his mind. There’s a lot of back and forth between Connie and Luke once she finds out he is married but he tries to let her understand his situation. This book has so much going on, it’s impossible to not LOVE IT!!! Your going to have to read the book to find out just how much action there is. Another amazing read! Well done Phoebe!! Cannot wait for more.

Hazed ( The Hazed Series Book 1 ) by Brittany Butler – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Hazed (The Hazed Series Book 1)Hazed by Brittany Butler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hazed by Brittany Butler is the first book, I’ve read by this author. I wasnt really a fan of the book however the writing was good. Hayze is the sexy bartender where Taylor starts to work. There is an instant attraction between the two. Only problem is Hayze has the bad boy vibe going. Hayze is with a different girl every night and girls throw themselves at him on the regular.
Taylor doesn’t have much experience in anything. She grew up the daughter of a pastor and never had the chance to do anything the other kids in town did. She left home for some freedom. She is starting college and doesn’t really know anyone aside from her roommate Lea. Lea and Hayze happen to be pretty close but, Taylor doesn’t realize just how close they really are.
Of course Taylor and Hayze end up seeing each other. I understand she is a sheltered girl but come on, how does she not see things right in front of her. I liked most of the characters and think the author did a good job but, I just didn’t like how blind Taylor was made out to be.

The Billionaire and the Therapist (Clean Billionaire Romance Reads Book 1) by Kim Koby – Review by Michelle Mulvey

The Billionaire and the Therapist (Clean Billionaire Romance Reads, #1)The Billionaire and the Therapist by Kim Koby
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Billionaire and the Therapist by Kim Koby is Book 1 of the Clean Billionaire Romance Reads. I thought this book was great from the beginning. Natalie is a therapist who has a past. She is hiding out in Texas hoping her past won’t find her. She gets a call about a possible job working with the Callahan family. Catherine Callahan is a 7 year old girl who had witnessed the unthinkable. To lose a parent at that age is just heartbreaking but to witness it firsthand is even worse.

John convinces Natalie to sign a one year contract and he will pay any amount of money just to hear his daughter talk again. Obviously John and Natalie are attracted to each other but try to remain as professional as possible. When John starts seeing small positive changes in Catherine, he cannot hide his feelings much more.

When Natalie gets a letter from someone in her past she gets a little worried wondering how he has found her. John vows to protect her and his family.

The characters were good, the writing was good and the story itself was good. It was a little short but worth spending the night at home with a glass of wine.

The Inheritance: The Story of an Unlikely Submissive By India Kells – Review by Michelle Mulvey

The InheritanceThe Inheritance by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Inheritance by India Kells was the first book I’ve read by this author and I loved it.
Lani Mackay is a struggling artist who is living dollar to dollar and is currently two months behind on her rent. She gets a phone call from her uncles attorney stating that her uncle has passed away and he needs her to come in to his office to discuss some things. Lani was never close with her uncle. He leaves a box for Lani that is filled with tasks she must complete. Whe. The tasks are completed, she will be given ten million dollars. Lani thinks about just saying no way and walking out but that’s a lot of money. The only catch is she cannot open the box. She must bring the box to Mr. Max Langdon who will open the box and once all the tasks are completed he will sign off on it.

Max doesn’t want to help Lani at first but then agrees to it. The rest is history. Will Max be able to play the role and walk away? Will Max get his heart broken? Will Lani get her heart broken? Will Lani even be able to complete all the tasks?
This was a super quick read but it was so good. I was hooked from page one.

Coming Home: The Sequel to Flowers in December by Jane Suen – Review by Michelle Mulvey

COMING HOME (Flowers in December, #2)COMING HOME by Jane Suen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Coming Home is Book 2 in the series. Some characters in this book were in the previous book. Connor was living in the city with his moms cat, working and not paying much attention to the cat. Now he’s back home at his mothers house and is trying to relive happy memories. Will he be able to get the cat to be important to him? Is Tom sick or just as heartbroken as Connor? Christmas was always a great holiday he spent with his mom. He spends the holiday making new memories especially for another family who has not seen each other or heard from each other in many years. I thought the book was ok. The writing was good but, I wasn’t really into the story

What She Lost and Found by M.L. Garcia – Review by Michelle Mulvey

What She Lost And FoundWhat She Lost And Found by M.L. Garcia
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What She Lost And Found by M. L. Garcia was my first read by this author. I enjoyed reading this book and it captured my attention from the very beginning. Everyone has a past. Everyone has a choice to either move on and be stronger because of it or live in fear. Daniela Franco has been through a lot a few years ago. Not only did she lose her best friend tragically but she was also assaulted.
Daniela finally becomes great friends with Nathan. He’s the only male she trusts aside from her dad. She slowly comes out of her she and eventually meets Alex. There was a lot of back and forth with Daniela. Which man should she date ? Which man will she date.
This book keeps the reader totally entertained throughout the whole book.

Trouble’s Wedding Caper (Familiar Legacy, #8) by Jen Talty – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Trouble's Wedding CaperTrouble’s Wedding Caper by Jen Talty
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Trouble’s Wedding Caper by Jen Talty is the first book I’ve read by this author.

The book has some romance, friendships, suspense and breakups in it.
Annabelle and Ethan are old friends. She is best friends with his sister. Both are in relationships that quickly end in the beginning of the book. One drunken night at a wedding ends in someone doing a shot from someone’s belly button!

Here they are months later when Annabelle and Ethan run into each other again. Luckily for Annabelle, Ethan seems to stay semi close to her. She is a treasure hunter who just bought an abandoned storage unit. Someone is out to get Annabelle but with Trouble on the case, he doesn’t make it easy.

I thought this book was well written. I liked most of the characters but wasn’t into the whole cat saving the day storyline.
