Not So Broken (Love Grows Series, #1) by Renee Regent – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Not So Broken (Love Grows Series, # 1)Not So Broken by Renee Regent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Not So Broken was such a great book and shows that their most definitely can be love after tremendous heartbreak! Gibson is actually a billionaire known as John G Colebank III of heir to the Colebank fortune. He is currently hiding out in Tilly, Georgia working as a handyman. No one knows who he really is. He has endured the worst kind of heartbreak and cannot go back to his normal life.
Sasha is visiting Tilly trying to gain clients. While she is visiting the town her eyes land on a gorgeous looking man she names mountain man. Sasha has also been through a lot. After trying to get pregnant for years which was unsuccessful, her husband tells her one day he’s leaving and his girlfriend is pregnant. Sasha is the top salesperson in her company and is working towards adopting a child of her own.

The night Gib and Sasha meet each other in a bar, they talk and dance the night away while having many drinks. After a hot one night stand, things seem to turn south the next morning. While Gib and Sasha can’t get the other out of their heads, things happen and it causes them to see each other again.
I really fell in love with Gibs character. He really is such a nice guy and I was rooting for him the entire book. I do t want to give to much away but, this is a great read! One you won’t want to miss out on.

Rules of Engagement: A Single Dads Romance (Platonically Complicated, #3) by Mika Jolie – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Rules of EngagementRules of Engagement by Mika Jolie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Mika Jolie….nothing more is needed. I have NEVER read a book by her I haven’t loved. This is no different. The written was perfect, the characters were great and the story was 5+ stars!

I really couldn’t say anything bad about this book. Lucas has custody over his daughter Emma. She means the absolute world to him. He would do anything to keep things justbthe way they are. His ex wife is back and wants to take him to court for custody saying he’s an unfit parent and he has different women around him all the time.

His best friend’s sister who happens to be one of his best friends poses as his fake fiancé. The only problem is, Lucas is extremely attracted to Kate and she has started in some of his hottest fantasies over the last year. Since Kate and Lucas are so comfortable around each other, it’s easy to pretend. They even kiss in public to make it known. However, Kate’s brother isn’t to happy about this plan. Before long, Kate and Lucas are sending flirty texts and then Lucas sends Kate a picture he normally wouldn’t send someone. One thing leads to another and they end up making a deal of what they are willing to do during their fake engagement.

The only rule is, they cannot fall for each other. What are the chances of that happening between now and a week from now when Lucas has to go to court? I say very likely!!! Will this ruin their amazing friendship they have had for over two decades or will they both be able to get past it?
Such a great book!!!

Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns #3) by Alicia Street – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns Book 3)Rainy Day Lovers by Alicia Street
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rainy Day Lovers was a great book from start to finish. The characters were great and the plot was great.
It all started in 2001 when Raina was witness to a homeless guy around her age was getting attacked. He wasn’t only homeless but he was in some sort of horrific accident by the look of his face. Raina saved the young man and took him to get something to eat. Then gave him money and some good advise. She told Robbie to go speak with a friend of hers and she knew if given the chance she knew he would make the best of it. All because of Raina, Robbie stepped in to help a man being robbed in a park one night and his life changed.

Fifteen years later Raina and Robbie ( who now goes by Roman ) somehow meet again. Roman has a new face and is a plastic surgeon. All things happen for a reason. Fate stepped in and did the right thing in this book about second chance meetings / romances. Roman keeps his past hidden to Raina and doesn’t tell her that he was the homeless guy she helped all those years ago. What will happen when the truth comes out.
This book was such a sweet read. I love Roman. He’s just an all around great guy and I believe he was given that second chance at a happy life because of his run in with Raina.

A Tendency Dark and Dangerous by Emmalyn Danvers – Review by Michelle Mulvey

A Tendency Dark and DangerousA Tendency Dark and Dangerous by Emmalyn Danvers
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A tendency dark and dangerous by Emmalyn Danvers is a novel written in verse. I have never read a novel written in verse before nor have a read a book by this author before. I thought the book was well written. It really wasn’t my cup of tea if you know what I’m saying but, the author did a good job describing the scenes and the feelings.

Addictions come in all shapes and forms. One could be addicted to gambling, drugs, alcohol or even a person. In this book, Evangeline finds an addiction in this book that is hard to break. She seemed to have it all. A great job, a sweet, caring boyfriend and awesome friends. Is she willing to lose it all for her addiction?

Landon Kelly is a dark and mysterious person she meets at an art gallery. Her life changes when she meets him. She is living a double life but soon that will change. Will it be a happy ending or will she lose everything?

Full Glasses and Burju Shoes by Blake Blessing – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Full Glasses and Burju ShoesFull Glasses and Burju Shoes by Blake Blessing
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Full Glasses and Burju Shoes by Blake Blessing was an overall great read for me. This book had a great addictive storyline that I felt like I was flipping through the pages to see what more the author had in store for the readers.

Emil has recently come home from war and still has a great relationship with all his buddies he served with. One close friend who was like a brother managed to stay alive through the extended tours they did only to come home and be in a fatal car accident. Emil has severe issues with PTSD and sometimes he cannot control his reactions to certain sounds.

Perrin is a woman who does different activities whenever she finds something that interests her. Her most recent interest is to learn to bachata. Her boss Danny knows just the man to teach her but he says no.

The first two times Perrin and Emil saw each other was nothing pleasant. As a matter of fact, Emil was a total jerk to her when she showed up at his place for another reason.

Will Emil finally give in and be able to teach Perrin to dance Bachata style?
They end up becoming very close friends and Feelings get involved. Will Perrin be able to deal with Emil’s PTSD or will that be a deal breaker. This book will take you on an emotional roller coaster. There is so much sadness and loss but there is also some happy times too.

Tapped (The Night Moves Series) by Tarrah Anders – Review by Michelle Mulvey

TappedTapped by Tarrah Anders
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tapped by Tarrah Anders is definitely a 5 star read for me. I have read a few books by this author and have loved all of them.

Janae is about to get the shock of her life one night while she is working. Kai….her Kai from
10 years ago is standing in front of her. As soon as they see each other, the feelings are brought back.

Lao has never forgotten Janae. He has always measured people up to her and no one ever came
close. He was traveling on tour as a back up dancer but now he wants to find a place to stay in. He’s tired of different hotel rooms and sleeping on tour busses. He never thought when he applied for this job, he was going to find the one woman who owned his heart.

Kai and Janae start off as friends again but, Kai knew from the beginning, he wanted more. It took a lot of convincing but, Janae finally gave him a shot. Kai started as a rookie but quickly turned into one of the best erotic dancers at the club. Janae never watches the shows but now she finds herself watching him every time he comes out.

When one is Kai’s best friends come to visit, Janae finds herself in a crazy situation.

This was a great book and had lots of heat. I loved how Kai and Janae were able to have a second chance in life. I also loved the ending. AMAZING!!!

Written In The Stars by T. Birmingham – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Written in the Stars (Fallen Eagles MC Book 2)Written in the Stars by T. Birmingham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Written in the Stars by T Birmingham was a great 5 star read for me. I was a bit skeptical after reading book 1 Terrible Beauty. This book totally changed it around for me.

Winter is one of the 4 Markham sisters all names after seasons. We were introduced to the characters briefly in a Terrible Beauty and they are back and brought their A game in Written in the Stars.

Winter is the quite loner of the group. She knows everyone, they all know her but she doesn’t really talk to them. She has had a secret crush on Eagle for 3 years since she first laid eyes on him. She’s the shy type who has never acted on it. When she finally gets the nerve to ask him to coffee, will he accept the offer or decline? Will their friendship turn into anything more?
There is a serial killer on the loose and Eagle and his team are helping try to find who it is and keep their city safe. When more murders are committed missing some important factors, they think they may have a copycat on the loose which is making it that much harder to find the person / people. Many people Winter and her friends know are brought in as suspects but it seems everyone has an Alibi or was out of town when the murders took place. This book kept me interested and on the edge of my seat. I never thought the person they caught would’ve been the one involved. The reasons behind the murders was a little disturbing to me as well.

A Terrible Beauty (Fallen Eagles MC Book 1)A Terrible Beauty by T. Birmingham
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Terrible Beauty is a Novella starting the Fallen Eagles MC Series. I thought the book was well written. The author is a new author to me. I haven’t read many books in this genre but, I didn’t dislike the book. It kept me entertained for the most part.

There were quite a few characters in the Novella. There’s the Markham sisters who are Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. Summer went to war and experienced something tragic. She came home and her new name is Kit. She doesn’t let anyone call her Summer anymore. She has been home 10 years and has kept secrets that whole time from the 30 hours of captivity. Now her past has come back to haunt her. How will her family and Lee handle the secrets when they are exposed? When Spring is threatened by Kit’s blackmailer, will they be able to come out on top or will Kit lose a family member on top of everything else?

Heart of a Hunk Anthology by Various Authors – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Heart of a Hunk: A Limited-Edition Collection of Bad Boy, Billionaire and Hunky Romance HeroesHeart of a Hunk: A Limited-Edition Collection of Bad Boy, Billionaire and Hunky Romance Heroes by Nicole Morgan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Heart of a Hunk is a collection of books written by different authors. Two of the books I’m reviewing are Foxxy Christmas by Allyson R Abbott and A Kiss under a Blue Christmas Moon by Tamara Ferguson. I have read both authors before and have loved everything I have read by them.

Foxxy Christmas was great from the beginning. Foxxy was an escort / street walker or whatever her pimp decided to use her for. She made eye contact with a man one night while she was on a job and that was it. There was instant chemistry and he did what was needed to book her services for the following day. Foxxy is a very strong character. She didn’t give in easily but, she was finally convinced he was there to help her. Eddie is a very dangerous man who hands his hands into everything.
Will Foxxy be able to pull off what she has planned or will it be a waste of time. Richard and Jerry ended up saving Foxxy’s life.

A Kiss under a Blue Christmas Moon took a few chapters to get me hooked. Mia and Noah met at school and instantly fell for each other. They finally got up the courage to speak to each other right before the summer. Only problem was, at the end of the summer Noah was leaving for the Air Force. Everything was going well during the summer until it didn’t. Mia had no idea why Noah never spoke to her again. Blackmail is an ugly thing that can ruin something wonderful. About 6 years later, what happens when they see each other again? Will the truth finally come out? This story was very addicting and I found myself reading so fast to find out how it ended.

The Memory Of Us by Lisa Sorbe – Review by Michelle Mulvey

The Memory of UsThe Memory of Us by Lisa Sorbe
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Memory of Us by Lisa Sorbe was a great read for me. The two main characters are Elena Everhart and Weston Brooks. They have literally been the best of friends since they were babies. They did everything fun together growing up and also got into trouble together.
Elena Was destined to move away. She had big plans for her future. Meanwhile Weston wanted her to stay forever. Elena had been through a lot of heartache and loss in her 17 years of life and just needed to get away. Leaving Weston and going to Phoenix for college and to start her life broke both Elena’s and Weston’s hearts.
She kept in contact with her only living relative, her mom and even had her come to Phoenix to visit every so often. When Elena gets word her mom has passed away, her past comes rushing back. She returns home to deal with cleaning out the house and putting it on the market and runs right into Weston on the first day.
Weston and Elena still have strong feelings for each other so many years later but Elena tries everything to keep her heart locked up. Luckily for her, Weston doesn’t give up easy and is there every step of the way to help her with everything and then there is the time capsule….I feel like that was the turning point in the book.
I thought the book was well written and kept the readers entertained.
When A couple is meant to be together there’s nothing such as distance, years or career choices that can keep them apart. Fate is fate!

A Pink Christmas Kiss (Christmas kiss Series) by Allyson R. Abbott – Review by Michelle Mulvey

A Pink Christmas KissA Pink Christmas Kiss by Allyson R. Abbott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A pink Christmas Kiss by Allyson R. Abbott is my favorite in the series so far. This was a sweet book about a second chance romance. Billie and Leroy were the perfect couple. She decided to move to NY for better opportunities. She thought Leroy would follow her or at least fight for me but none of that happened. Here she is 5 years later and suffering from being homesick. She would love to go back to Nevada but, doesn’t want to seem like a failure. Luckily she gets a phone all from her dad telling her he needs to give up the auto repair shop due to his failing health. Billie spent a lot of time in the shop growing up. This was a perfect reason to go home.

She ends up working in the repair shop and the. Finds an old beat up deuce in a back corner buried under other stuff. The deuce is her dream car. The person dropped off the car and said money is no object, but they wanted it fixed up and there was no rush. Billie spent all her free time rebuilding it and making it beautiful. When she finds out the car is for her, she must return it to the rightful owner.

Billie runs into Leroy shortly after coming home. They both never stopped loving each other but they are both hurt. Leroy is hurt that she left him and Billie is hurt that Leroy never fought for her. Leroy had his reasons and they were really good ones. Would Billie still have left is she knew what was holding him back? Leroy didn’t want Billie to know what he was dealing with because he thought she would stay by his side and then resent him.

Every time Leroy and Billie seem to run into each other things go horribly wrong. Will they be able to reconcile and forget the past heartbreak they both felt?

Throw all the old feelings in with a five year separation and a pink deuce.

This book had me hooked from the first chapter. I loved the characters and thought the book was well written

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Tangy Christmas Kiss by Allyson R Abbott was not one of my favorites but I do not think that the was bad. It’s just a personal preference I guess and the book was well written.

Mel has to change her plans and go spend time In Spain to help out at her Aunt Rosa’s house. It turns out to be a lot more then just house sitting.
The book was busy and kept me interested for the most part. There was a language barrier between Mel and a friend she makes and the book has the male character speaking Spanish and Mel trying to understand it and it was just a bit annoying in my personal opinion. With that being said, I did like storyline and do enjoy this authors writing.

Each book is about people from a Swingers Group which at some point will end up opening a swingers club called the factory. Many of the same characters appear in each book.

You get a little of everything in this box set. There’s definitely lots of steam, lots of emotion and you even get a little suspense. You will definitely want to ass this box set to your library. Phoebe Alexander knocked it out of the park with these books. Loved each and every one of them.

Once Upon a Romance (A Dream Come True, #1)Once Upon a Romance by Alex Bailey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Once upon a romance by Alex Bailey was a great feel good book. This is the first book Ive read by this author and was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to read and how much I enjoyed it. Sophie grew up with an older sister and parents who were all obsessed with Disney World. Sophie never really understood why she didn’t enjoy going as much but it makes sense to her later in the book why.

Sophie should be visiting her boyfriend Darren’s family for Christmas this year until she finds out her niece Ariel asked Santa for one thing this year….to go to Disney. Ariel’s mom passed away a few months prior and it has been very rough on her. Sophie knows, she has to do what’s right and bring Ariel to WDW even if she has no desire to go. While in Disney she meets a man named Ray who also runs a Facebook page and is known as Professor Disney. Ray seems a little off to Sophie but, Ariel really enjoys his company so Sophie lets him tag along with them since he knows everything about Disney. Add a little pixie dist and a toothless Santa and anything can happen. How will Darren feel when he comes to Disney on Christmas Eve and finds out all about Ray.
I thought this was a well written book and it kept my attention.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

F*cking Frank by Jen Luerssen is book 1 In the Smirk Series. I have never read any of this authors work but cannot wait to read the next book. I want to see how Joe is going to fall in love just like Frank has. Frank is a grumpy guy that doesn’t really like people and hates small talk.
Frank plays bass in a band called Lia and The Licks. Franks friend Sebastian offers the group a summer job playing at the winery so once they all agree, they head up there and even have a place to stay.
When Frank meets Mikey, it’s insane how much they have in common. They are pretty much inseparable from the day they meet. What will happen when the summer is over and real life choices get in the way.

This was a great book from beginning to end. I loved the loyalty between friends and the chemistry between Mikey and Frank was off the charts.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The First Backwards Christmas by Brooke Williams was a cute short book that can be read on a cold afternoon when you have some time to just relax with a book and a cup of coffee.

Jack Furst had been living In South Pole, Alaska watching families one by one leave the town. Not much is left and before he knows it, the mayor is leaving too. Jack is dating a woman by the name of Joyce Nicholson who is a pilot and has been helping other towns by bringing supplies to them. What happens when Joyce is moved to be stationed somewhere else?

When the new Mayor gets the bright idea to hang Christmas trees upside down and do everything backwards, no one knew if it would help. Before long, the news of how South Pole, Alaska is celebrating Christmas becomes known all over and more and more families and relatives come to experience it.
I thought the book was well written and was a perfect read for me when I was stuck home one afternoon.

Sailors Knot (Eastern Shore Swingers Book 4)Sailors Knot by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sailors Knot by Phoebe Alexander is part of the Eastern Shore Swingers Series. This book is in my opinion the hottest and steamiest so far. We see many of the same characters in this book that we have met earlier in the series but there’s a few more we haven’t met yet too.

I thought this book was well written and let the reader really feel some of what Casey went through in her life. She definitely had her share of emotional heartbreak in life. The author let us into Casey’s past with Joshua and Gabriel. Some people think family gets involved and has opinions when your young but Casey was in her 30’s and her family still was front and center in her life causing drama.

Now here we are 3 decades later with Casey thinking back to when she was 30. She has a lot of time on her hands laying in a bed fighting a sickness. Her friends and her sister and there for her every step of the way.

Sailors Knot was a great addition to the series

Silk Road (Code Raven Series Book 6) by Lynda Filler – Review by Michelle Mulvey

SILK ROAD (Code Raven, #6)SILK ROAD by Lynda Filler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Silk Road by Lynda Filler is book 6 on the Code Raven Series. I have read a few books in the series and have enjoyed reading them.

The books are fast paced and action packed. Silk Road is about children being kidnapped and either sold or used for prostitution. Luke and Luci are spending a few days in his private sanctuary in the Maldives. He has a family who stays there and does the upkeep for him. When their 2 young children are taken in the middle of the night, Luke knows he must act quickly.

Meanwhile in another area, Zach’s good friend Mike
needed help. They were all together in BUDS Training many years ago and kept in touch. Mikes daughter ran away at a young age and now she is reaching out to him because her son has been taken. He’s 13 years old and he is her life. When she calls Mike for help, she knows he’s her only chance. Mike and His daughter Katie have not spoken for about 13 years and when she finally reaches out she tells him she says “Dad, I need your help and bring your friends.”

Children are being taken all over the world but the raven group cannot seem to catch them. Things don’t add up every time they try.

Another teenager is taken but the authorities think it is an ala Kachuu which is a meeting of a bride and groom. However the parents know that is not the case.

Will the Raven Group be able to save these children and reunite them with their families while putting an end to the Russian Mob or will they be to late?

Siren Call by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Siren CallSiren Call by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Siren Call by Phoebe Alexander is book 3 in the Eastern Swingers Series. I have read the first two books prior and have loved this book just as much as the other two.

The author touched on all subjects when she wrote this series. Every book focuses on a different couple and their drama lol book 3 focuses on Jessie Martinez who is a local police officer working for OCPD. Jessie is also a member of the Swinger community and beings to The Factory. Jessie is friendly with the owners and workers there so it’s no surprise when she is asked to look into one of the members.

Sirena was most definitely not my favorite character. She held alot of secrets and Jessie seemed like she was going to get her heart broken throughout the entire book.

It turns out Sirena is not who everyone thought she was. She had a secret life no one knew about. What will happen when her secrets are found out? How will Jessie react?

I thought this book was well written and kept my attention from start to finish.

This book is part of a series but, can be read as a stand alone. However, I would recommend reading the series in order so you know who is with who and what they went through to be where they are.

BECKONED, Part 5: Adrift in Costa RicaBECKONED, Part 5: Adrift in Costa Rica by Aviva Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beckoned, Adrift in Costa Rica is book 5 in the series by Aviva Vaughn and in my opinion, the best book in the series. I liked the previous books but there was something about Angela that I just couldn’t put my finger on. Her and Soren had chemistry and were cute together but, living so far away did a lot of damage. Not only the distance but, they were completely different time zones too!

Now here Soren is, he knows he has nothing holding him back. After seeing Angela one last time he decides to go somewhere tropical and hops a flight from California to Costa Rica.

I loved Soren In this book. He was funny, happy and acted like a carefree man his age. When he sees Elena and becomes great friends with her, I was rooting for them. Both Soren and Elena have skeletons in their closet and not to mention, Soren has a strict father who has his whole life planned out for him already across the globe. Will Soren and Elena be able to work past their issues and be together or is there to much stacked against them?

I believe Adrift in Costa Rica can be read as a stand alone but, it is much better to read in order to get a feel for the author and the back story.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Give & Take by Lee Kilraine was definitely a 5 star read for me. I have never read anything by this author but, I was hooked from the very beginning.

Rhia Hollis is flighty, impulsive and outspoken but, she’s awesome. I loved her character.
Six Brothers Construction is offering free office space to one lucky person starting their new business. Rhia is the lucky winner of that generous offer. She is to have an office within their building for one year rent free!

The morning Rhia shows up thinking she has her own office she is given space inside Wyatt’s office. His seems to be the largest and all the meetings are done there so what’s the big deal if Rhia is given a desk In the corner??? Well Wyatt is very controlled…likes quiet, and is studying to become an architect. Slowly but surly Rhia and Wyatt end up becoming friends.

Rhia has a large family but she has never been good enough for her parents. She was a teacher for a bit and has now become a party planner. No one in her family stands behind her.
Wyatt is the youngest brother who had a real crappy life growing up and feels like he owes everything to his older brothers.

Wyatt doesn’t understand how family can talk down to their own daughter as much as Rhia’s family does. He’s sick of all the calls coming in that Rhia ignores because she knows it’s her family, he’s sick of the strange men showing up at the office with hopes going on a date with Rhia. Wyatt agrees to pose as Rhia’s new boyfriend. Can Wyatt and Rhia actually help each other in the long run? Can something that starts out as a major annoyance actually turn into something great?
I really enjoyed reading this book and hope to read more on the brothers from SBC

The Catch by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Michelle Mulvey

The CatchThe Catch by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Catch by Phoebe Alexander is book 2 in The Eastern Shore Swingers series. From what I can tell so far, the books can be read as standalones.

The Catch has a few characters in it from book 1 and was just as good as book 1 of not better. The characters that The Catch focuses on is Paisley Parker and Calvin Mitchell.

Paisley has been alone for many years. She has no family and everyone in her past knows her by a different name. Calvin is about 10 years younger then Paisley and has a loving family. When Calvin and Paisley meet it’s because she hires him to design a website for The Factory. Not only is Paisley being groomed to be the manager but, she’s 100% in the lifestyle. When Calvin makes it known that he is interested in a relationship, she says no because she is not a relationship kind of person.

When Paisley gets an email from the website demanding money and calling her by her old name, she knows her past has caught up to her. She’s afraid The Factory will be found out if she doesn’t adhere to the demands. Things get much worse as time goes on. Their website is hacked and Paisley has no choice but to have Calvin take the website down. Paisley never cared much about anyone but now when her new friends business is threatened, she needs to deter whoever is after her.

I thought this was a great addition to the series. You will never guess who is after Paisley and why? At seventeen years old she fled to NY for a better life never expecting to face her past. This is a book you won’t want to pass on.

Fisher Of Men by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Fisher of MenFisher of Men by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fisher Of Men by Phoebe Alexander is book 1 of the Eastern Shore Swingers Series and where it all begins. Leah Miller was the Guest Experience Strategist at The Pearl. She pretty much ran the show. One night she had to fill in for as a bartender for a party in a private room that was booked. Life as she knew it changed on that day when she met Captain Chris Sheldon also know as Cap to all his friends. Leah only spoke with him for a little bit but, couldn’t seem to get him off her mind. She wasn’t exactly sure what kind of party she was bartending for. All she knew was the party was booked under Casey’s Group.

Leah and Cap end up seeing a lot of each other since Casey’s Group ended up booking a few parties at the Pearl. Also, Leah and Cap both had dogs they liked to walk on the beach. One day while Leah was there she ran into Cap. He was quite persistent. She finally agreed to go on a date with him. She was the furthest thing from a swinger though. Her dad was part of the church and Leah was expected to go to church every week and hopefully meet a nice young man. Not a swinger who had children only a few years younger then her.

This book had a lot of back and forth. Leah was falling for Cap but, she couldn’t picture herself going to swinger parties. She ended up going to party on New Year’s Eve where things had changed.

Can a sweet innocent vanilla woman actually
be able to win the heart of man who is a bit older and much more experienced?

I thought this book was well written. I didn’t really care much for the character of Leah. I understand she was in a position she never thought she would be in but, she flipped back and forth so much. Cannot wait to read the next book!

The Boss Man by Teddy Hester – Review by Michelle Mulvey

The Boss Man: A Steamy Contemporary Romantic Suspense Novel (The Manly Series Book 4)The Boss Man: A Steamy Contemporary Romantic Suspense Novel by Teddy Hester
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Boss Man By Teddy Hester was a 4 star read for me. This book mostly took place over a 2 week period.
Jack DePaul who runs AmerItalia first met Jillian at a party where he met most of the Lone Star Contractor guys. He was so close to taking Jillian to his bed but, due to a phone call, that never happened.

A journalist named JT Vickers is on site in the morning for an interview and to speak with some of the guys for an article. When Jack meets with JT Vickers, he cannot believe his eyes. It’s the beautiful woman Jillian he can’t seem to get off his mind.

She is there and wants time to be able to speak with some of his men but, on a job as big as they are on with a deadline quickly approaching, that doesn’t seem possible.
Jack finally offers her a job as his secretary. That way he can see her, but not pursue anything with her because of his rule about staying away from his employees.
Let’s see how well that one works out!! Jillian is a wildcat as her calls her. As she gets madder and angrier, he wants her more and more. Will they be able to table their lust for each other for another week and a half?
Felix is the pipefitter supervisor who is also a good friend of Jillian’s. When things go missing on site, Felix is the first person that Jack can think of that would try to sabotage his project.
When the culprit is found out, everyone is shocked. What will happen when Jillian needs to stop working for Jack with AI and go do her own thing. Will she be able to get all the info she needs for the blog?
I liked most of the characters. I thought the book was well written and the story kept me fairly entertained!

Summer Fling By Tarrah Anders – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Summer FlingSummer Fling by Tarrah Anders
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Summer Fling by Tarrah Anders was a sweet, happy, kinda creepy read for me but, I loved it!
The summer is beginning in a small tourist town called Sweeny which is a lake town in Northern California. Emma co-owns a shop with her best friends twin sister Willie. One night after massive drinking Emma takes a random man home and hooks up with him. Only problem is, she has sworn off summer flings since her last one ended badly with Emma having a broken heart. Royce is not your typical tourist. He’s in town to open a business with a friend of his. Emma and Royce end up seeing a lot of each other I’m such a small town and they become friends. The chemistry they have and the flashbacks they have of their night together make it hard to not have feelings for each other. Royce keeps trying to convince Emma he’s there for the long haul but, there’s a part of her that is worried.

When Royce and Emma finally decide to get together and try for a relationship, Royce’s Past comes crashing into his future. Emma is a great character and definitely tries to stick by her man. Especially since she has a past too. What happens when her past comes back to haunt her too?

I thought this book was well written and the storyline was quite believable. Will Emma and Royce have a chance at a happy ending or will it just be written off as a summer fling?
