This was a quick interesting read. Dorian and Augistine found love in the most unexpected way but neither can act as they are married. Little donthey know that fate will bring them back together but Dorian has another secret. Will their friendship and budding romance be able to survive all the obstacles. I really enjoyed this book and all the twists and turns. Endingnwas definitely thought provoking.
The best parts of this book are that it touches upon controversial romance, it has so much quality writing compressed into a quick read, and the lovable characters, for sure. This author really has a knack for keeping the reader flipping the pages eager for answers to all of their unanswered questions. It was difficult to decide who to side with throughout the story, but I’m content with the outcomes, without giving too much away. Great read!
This is the second book that I’ve read by this author. Her books are easy to read page turners. This particular book was packed with romance, action, and bravery. It does focus on polyamory and friendship. Love comes in all forms and this book shows that no matter what form your love takes we all deal with similar situations and that love is beautiful. Definitely a good read.

This is the second book I have read by this author and I continue to enjoy her style of writing and voice. I love how well she draws you into the story and creates characters that aren’t easily forgotten. Dorian and Augustine along with their gorgeous wives, Aubrielle and Magnolia, are vivid and well written characters that you immediately fall in love with. This story is full of action, excitement, drama, humor and HEA. The author does an amazing job of making you empathize with the characters given the truly tough emotional situation they find themselves in. She pulls at your heartstrings and has you rooting for everyone to get their happily ever after. I loved how she set up the beginning and gave us an epilogue so we know how things end. A quick and fantastic read!
This is truly one of my favorite authors and I absolutely hands down LOVED this book so much. This is more of a contemporary romance, which is a different spin than what I am used to reading from this author, but also just as fabulous!!
What happens when something so unexpected that may turn out as a possible disaster lead to a spark of love? While in Hawaii for a job, Dorian has it all planned to do his job and head on home to his wife. When the job does not go as originally planned that leads him to meet Augustine. When Dorian and Augustine get to know each other, the sizzle between them is off the charts…but end up abruptly leaving Hawaii. Years later, upon a random chance, both Dorian and Augustine’s wives meet each other, then this goes to both Dorian and Augustine meeting each other again. Lots of laughs, get togethers, ideas and such that both couples become very friends. When a job puts everyone in danger that Dorian is working…this leads to a snowball of events. Will the couples survive and will there be any chance at romance?
It is hard not to give any spoilers …….I could talk about this book forever…..this is a definite must read in my eyes! Danger, romance, spark……….this story flowed so easily and hard to put down. Thank you Ms. Naomi Valkyrie for another fabulous story!
An accident propels Dorian into Augustine’s life where an immediate attraction grows but both men know it can’t happen. They are both very happily married and have so much to lose if they give into their attraction. 3 years pass and their paths cross again, neither has forgotten the other or lost their feelings towards one another. Secrets, lies and love create an emotional path that they must follow in order to see if happiness is possible. This talented author created a very intriguing storyline and wonderful characters that any reader will grow attached too, you just won’t able able to help yourself.

Wow that is not at all what I was expecting but man what a ride. This author knocked it out of the park with this Contemporary Romance. It may be a short story but it’s packed with emotions, drama, heartbreak and so much more. I’ve become a fan of this author and her Paranormal stories and I love how her stories flow and always makes you feel as if you are right there with them. This is a story about Augustine and Dorian. These two meet because of an accident in which Dorian feels guilty that it happened. What they didn’t know was they would be torn apart and broken hearted. Three years later their wives introduce their husbands to one another but they already know each other. What does fate have in store for these two? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Great MM/polyamory read. A hired gun? That’s was a fun aspect, I was looking forward to seeing where that was going to lead. The way in which Augustine and Dorian meet is insane but I love the fact that Dorian was set on doing what he could for Augustine after the huge mistake he makes. I love, love. And watching Dorian and Augstine figure out their relationship with each other let alone their wives, was messy and beautiful. The ending had me smiling, and the romance isn’t raunchy just sweet. Both of their wives, Magnolia and Aubrielle get along so well that it just all works for them as a family. Loved it!
This book is romance and drama all bundled into one delightful short story. All four main characters are relatable and the writing immediately draws you in. This book takes you on an adventure that you hope will never end. I love that the complexity of the relationships were described realistically.

One mistake brings Dorian and Augustine together but will all the lied tear them apart? What about their wives? How will the two men find a way to deal with the attraction that they have and still have the love that they cherish with their wives?
Augustine and Dorian’s journey is an interesting one. The two men find themselves in a place where they must really look deep into themselves and find the courage to either fight for what they want or let it go. I am sorry to say but this story was missing something for me. I did not really connect with any of the characters and their story did not pull me in. There are a lot of emotions on the page but I did not feel them. This story moves at a good pace and even though it is not a favorite of mine it was interesting to see how their journey would unfold.
Dorian and Augustine are two men who are happily married to two beautiful women, they have the lives they want and everything they could need, that is until the day that an assassin brings them together in an extremely unexpected way. They meet in unusual circumstances, but soon find that their relationship is blooming and they begin to care for each other, however, when things look like they could cross some lines and break apart their current lives and those of the ones they love, they decide to stay away from each other and hope that the distance will help them to heal their broken hearts.
This plan seems to be working fine and for the next few years, things move along in both their lives, Dorian with his self employment where he controls how much or little work he does and Augustine his graphic design business, as well as each of them supporting their wives in their endeavours. Unbeknownst to the men, their wives meet each other by chance and become fast friends and declare that they would like the husbands to meet and become friends too.
So, one night, one of the wives invite the other to a party they are throwing and when they introduce their respective husbands to each other, the men are completely blindsided and everything that had been left behind comes crashing back in full force. What will become of this pairing and how can they keep things friendly without acting on the temptations they are faced with every time they meet up? This is a tangled web of unrequited and forbidden love, with secrets, lies and half truths scattered throughout, as denial and temptation rear up to create a bubbling sea of uncertainty.
I picked up this book only because I like the author. Without reading the blurb, I didn’t really know what to expect. I was a little surprised. This is not her usual genre of writing. For a fairly new author, I commend her for taking a chance and stepping out of the box. This was a good effort at writing a contemporary romance.
Dorian and Augustine cross paths by pure accident. After spending time together, they realize feelings are developing. Both having wives, they decide to go their separate ways. When it’s meant to be, you can’t fight fate. What are the chances that years later their wives would become best friends? Awkward situation! Can they navigate a relationship that is based on lies?
I think the thing that I like best about this author is that she is not afraid to write about relationships that are not heterosexual. My only issue with this story is that it was too tame for me.

This is the story of two unlikely men trying to avoid the feelings they have for each other. In an accidental miss fire the assassin Dorian misses his target and shoots Augustine. Augustine survived the shooting, but Dorian still feels guilty it happened in the first place. What is Dorian going to do about it? Will these two men be able to come from this unscathed? What happens when these married couples’ wives become friends? I give no spoilers! This author has always had me reading her books. While this is a short story, it packs a punch. I felt I was on a rollercoaster filled with emotions. I was caught up in this story before the first chapter ended and could not put it down. You can’t help falling in love with the characters in this story or the author who wrote it. I will be looking forward to where this author takes this genre.
This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up. I have loved reading her books from the start. Her writing skills are such that she will pull you into the world of the characters from the start. This book is no different. This is a well written story about two women who introduce their husbands to each other. What they don’t know is that these two have more in common than what they know. This is a must read story that you don’t want to miss. The characters pull you in from the start. They are not only connectable but have great chemistry and growth throughout the story. This is a shorter story that is fast paced and packs a punch. Loved this book! I highly recommend this book and this author
This was a really enjoyable mm romance. This is by far one of my favourite authors and I love everything I read by her and this one was just as good. She has the ability to transport the reader into the world she has created and the time just disappears as you read. The books are definately page turners. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book but i was not disappointed. I love the danger of Doran’s job, and the impact it has, I loved the chemistry between Doran and Augustine and their fight against what they are feeling to protect their wives showed so much love for their partners that they deny themselves the love they feel between them.
This is definately a story that will grip you and the outcome even though it may not be seen as right to some people was definately right for this story. It was a beautiful story about fighting for what you want in life and being who you want to be with the people you want to be with.
The Husbands by Naomi Valkyrie took me on an unexpected, intriguing and emotional journey. It is a short novella, but definitely packed the punch of a much longer novel. Life throws Dorian a bit of a curveball, with fate propelling him into Augustine’s life in a very unexpected way. What starts out as a sense of responsibility on his part to make things right, turns into so much more. Feeling become involved. Life becomes confusing and complicated. The heart wants what the heart wants. But with significant other’s already in their lives, heartache isn’t far away. But their connection can’t be denied. So is there a way for them to find the happiness they crave? An intriguing short story with more emotion and complexity than it first appears. These characters are really well developed into fully realised and complex individuals with their own personalities, quirks and flaws. I wasn’t sure of what to expect when the story began, but as usual Ms. Valkyrie had me quickly investing in these characters and the outcome of their story. The emotional quality of the story was nicely balanced with suspense, intrigue, and dramatic developments that propelled the story forward quite quickly. The author managed to weave quite a lot into a small amount of space and provided an engrossing read. Well Done! Looking forward to more from Ms. Valkyrie. Happy Reading…

This is one of my favorite authors! Like all of the other books I have read by them this one was just as good. This is one of those slow burn romances that builds up the tension. The accidental crossing of Dorian and Augustine was not supposed to happen. The attraction was not supposed to happen, both of them are married. After parting ways it’s assumed they will not cross paths again. Of course, fate has other plans, but what will this mean for them and their wives. As the unexpected happens and secrets are revealed the story takes some interesting turns. This is definitely a great read and I always really enjoy this author!
Never read a book like this. Dorian has an odd job that leads him to nursing Augustine back to health after an accident. Both in the same place at the same time, they never thought they’d fall in love. Both having wives, they decide to leave their feelings behind and return to their usual lives. Three years later, their wives happen to meet and bring the 2 men back together. Can they resist the incessant pull? Or will they ruin their marriages for a possibility at a chance together? Read this book if you like romance, betrayal, deception, dramatics, and new adventures.
If it means to be fate will definitely intervene. Dorian shoots Augustine and with guilt he fakes who he is to be near Augustine. That’s when it gets really complicated and they fall for each but they let each other go. Years later there wives becomes friends and all truths are revealed. Dorian and Augustine become a committed couple with support of there wives in the polygamous relationship.
Naomi usually writes paranormal supernatural fantasy. The Husbands is her first attempt at a contemporary romance. As I have always said love is love and as always Naomi doesn’t shy away from and writes about what is not always considered the norm. It is a short read but one that definitely brings all the senses to life. It takes you on a rollercoaster ride with emotions. The tone of the story is full of push and pull, of angst and longing, hopes and fear, heartbreak and heartache, guilt and passion. Full of lies and secrets, doubt and temptation, of desperate want makes it one of those stories you just have to know how it all turns out. You know it’s a good story when there is a sad aw that rushes through you. My favourite way of storytelling is when it is tole through several POV and this one is. The characters Dorian and Augustine were easy to like and become invested in. I liked this story and the fact it was about the characters and not bogged down with unnecessary details. Not that I don’t love those but for this one it was right. I also like how the relationship was considered by taking in to account the feelings of significant others. For her first foray into this genre she has done well. I look forward to what comes next.
I found The Husbands to be an interesting read. Dorian and Augustine came together through traumatic circumstances. Dorian then built the relationship around a lie. Can we really expect things to last with a foundation of lies? From there, it just goes downhill. There is some mystery mixed in with the romance. I found the subject (polyamourous) just wasn’t my thing so the story just wasn’t relatable. Some of the issues that the wives went through and Augustine went through felt relatable. The struggle felt real. It was a hard story story to get into. This is just my opinion. However, I do recommend it if this your type of romance. This may be your cup of tea. 🙂 Reasons I enjoyed this book:
An accident brought them together, but life will tear them apart.
Everything changed for Dorian and Augustine the night an assassin made a terrible mistake. As the two men navigate the aftermath, they can’t deny their developing feelings, but a relationship isn’t in the cards. Broken-hearted, they both move on with their lives, believing they’ll never see each other again.
Then the unthinkable happens.
Three years later, their wives become friends and can’t wait to introduce each other to their husbands. What do you do when the one that got away is within reach, and you can’t acknowledge what they mean to you?
Naomi Valkyrie, often called a Firebrand Provocateur, brings her unique Autistic perspectives and curiosities to life by weaving tales of deep connection, mystery, and romance. She is inspired by being able to spontaneously create a thought that takes on a life of its own, opening up new adventures for her readers.
The Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy realms are particular areas of interest for Naomi as they allow for the vast exploration of magic, adventure, and the impossible while creating diverse characters that her readers connect with on an emotional level.
When she isn’t attending to familial connections, Naomi loves a dark, comfy reading space surrounded by the symbolism of her spiritual archetypes and her daemon/familiars, while she sips her Starbucks tea and immerses herself in imagination.
Talk about impossible odds! 3 days to find a mate to last forever? This author has a completely unique idea and adds a heavy dose of sarcastic humor with a dash of action. I thoroughly enjoyed this story! I will absolutely be reading more from this author! One of the most original paranormal romances I have ever read.

Highly recommend for readers who like short stories with suspense and interesting twists. With vampires, magic, werewolves, and ghosts, you don’t know what else will be thrown your way! Short, to the point, and with fated mates, you can not go wrong with this book. If only it was a little longer, but there’s plenty other stories by the author to keep us going!

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. The Final Bite is a short little read and won’t take much time out of the day. I enjoyed the read and if you don’t like male and male then this isn’t for you.
Quinn is back from the dead. He’s got three days to find a mate or it’s back to the dead for him. He is stuck in this small town where everyone knows everyone. When he follows a male who gets beat by a couple of wolves and saves him. The quote I chose for Quinn is: “Maybe we can get your mom and dad to babysit this weekend. I’ll take you to a nice place with room service, a luxurious bed, and a hot tub.”
Garrett is trying to find out what the alpha wants with his mom. He wants to find out what happened to his dad as well. When he finds out that he’s made a mate to Quinn he’s upset. The quote I chose for Garrett is: “Raincheck. It seems grandpa has come to visit.”

This is the first book I have read by the talented Naomi Valkyrie. While I usually don’t read MM books the original story of the book made me give it a try. In the synopsis it is stated that one paranormal person is selected every ten years for a second chance at life. This cycle it is Quinnlan Trinity, a vampire that was murdered by his greedy sister a couple hundred years ago that is given his second chance. Its officially Halloween when Quinnlan materializes naked in a rundown abandoned motel in the middle of nowhere. Three days in a small family town on the edge of a wolf pack, but a second chance is a second chance and Quinnlan is determined to give it his all to take advantage of the Gods kindness is choosing him. Watching the small town go about their Halloween activities Quinnlan is drawn to a mysterious figure that is walking alone in the dark away from the town. Following them for a short time he catches the scent of three wolves following as well, worried for the seemingly innocent person he continues to follow but from a distance to keep his scent from alerting the wolves. The end of the trail and Quinnlan might be a vampire, but he had never seen a ghost before one appeared before him yelling “HELP HIM” before vanishing again. The mysterious person is laying on the ground badly injured from the warning of the wolves when Quinnlan is faced with a choice. Allow this stranger to die, or give him his blood and save him but putting his fate in the strangers’ hands alone? Quinnlan might be a vampire, but he was always a lover and not a fighter, so he gives his one chance at a second life to save the man, later learning his name is Garrett. Many questions are running through Quinnlan’s mind, who is this man? What is his story? Why was he attacked by wolves? Will he accept my choice to save him, or will I return to purgatory? For such a short read this book left me feeling satisfied, or better yet complete no cliffhangers or lingering what ifs. Not only was the story complete but the original plot has rules, including that the paranormal must tell their chosen mate the truth about the 3 days, everything so that in the end everyone gets to make their own informed decision on what will be the rest of their lives. One of my favorite things was the writer breaking the fourth wall, saying things we were thinking and telling the reader to use their imaginations which added an extra level of humor in some very intense situations. I look forward to reading more work from the amazing mind of Naomi Valkyrie. World building, storyline, writing style is all awe inspiring and enjoyable to read.

I loved this book so much! Naomi Valkyrie has created yet another mesmerizing story, and I just can’t get enough of it. This paranormal romance is filled with steamy vampires, magic, and plenty of action.
When the gods decide that Quinnlan deserves a second chance at love and life, it sounds like a miracle. Except that there are stipulations to this second chance. Quinnlan has three days to take a mate, or he goes back to purgatory forever. When Quinnlan finds Garrett bleeding out, he has a choice to save him or let him die. If he chooses Garrett and gets rejected, he risks heading back to the one place he doesn’t want to go. Can he really let him die, or will he take the chance for true love?
I am never disappointed by this author’s work, and I’m happy to say that I’m left craving more after reading The Final Bite. I loved every moment of it and highly recommend picking it up for a quick escape!
