My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a series I can’t seem to put down. This is the third book from Amy McKinley that I have read, and not in order. This makes it a bit more difficult but the story lines are very easy to follow. I definitely plan to read all the other books in this series.
Hailey, the girl on the outside seems to have it all but when she gets kidnapped by a ski masked man her life doesn’t look so perfect.
Trey, a member of the Five Families and a steamy surgeon, can’t bring himself to think about having a relationship. When Hailey gets kidnapped her step dad hires Trey to find her. But little did Hailey and Trey realize that they would be more than captor and captee.

This book was a great read. I was pulled in from the beginning and kept entertained throughout. This story was full of romance, action, angels, demons, vampires, danger, steamy moments, and great characters. This author did a great job writing a fascinating story that was hard to put down. I can’t wait to read what the author writes next.
I loved how supportive the brothers and their family were to Angelina. I couldn’t help but become invested in the characters and the story line. Angela has a big doctor make and it doesn’t only affect her. If you want to find out what happens then you must read this book. I highly recommend it.

This Author does not disappoint once again! This captivating and sexy read is so worth it. Angelina is an artist with exceptional watercolor experience living a regular life. Apart from that, she’s having wet dreams of two guys. Little does she know that she’s about to actually meet them. The rest is worth you to get the book and read away!

This is such a steamy paranormal story that was a true delight to read. I was hooked from the moment I started reading. The dynamic between these three characters was amazing. I was completely bought into them and their story. I thought the author handled the complex relationship so well and, although it is not something I ever imagine experiencing, I still found it so easy to relate to them. This is an exciting and sexy story that I loved from beginning to end.

This was a really good read. The authors writing was really gripping, I found myself wanting to turn the pages faster and faster so I could find out what was going to happen next. The action starts with Avery waking up having no recollection of how she’s been cut open and sewn back up again. I enjoyed the story and its unpredictable story line. The characters were well thought out and developed well as the story progressed. Although this is the second book in the series I read it as a standalone and encountered no issues. I would definitely recommend this to other paranormal romance lovers!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I haven’t read the whole collection, but Witch Switch really took me for a ride. We meet Cheyenne and Rafe. Cheyenne doesn’t want her magic much to the chagrin of Rafe’s family. Since he is already promised to another witch, Meridith, they don’t think Cheyenne should matter much anyway. Will Meredith go after Cheyenne when she finds out Rafe does not want to marry her? Will Cheyenne be able to call upon her magic to help them? How far will a scorned lover go to keep them apart and can they survive the storm about to be thrown at them?
I really enjoyed the writing of this author and will be adding some of her other books to my TBR pile.

Wow I was completely captivated by this story. I love a paranormal romance but this book is so much more than that. The author doesn’t an amazing job with the characters and what i love was the author’s descriptions about the thought and feelings that were felt. We are taking on a rollercoaster of happiness, desire, fear, love and grief so painful it almost crushes you.

Angelina is just a normal woman. She has never had a man, something just always seems to be off. She does however have dreams and fantasies about 2 men. She doesn’t know who they are but boy does she want to know them. So imagine her shock when her dream me walk into her life.

Luca and Salvatore are twins. They are a hybrid of vampire and angel. They have searched for their mate for years and when they find her their love and connection is instant.
However things aren’t going to be all sunshine and roses. There is a dangerous demon out to destroy them all and things will turn dangerous for the 3 lovers. Can they succeed in destroying this evil? Will Angelina believe and give in to her fated mates? This story is amazing.

What a great well written original paranormal romance with a lot of mystery and crime thrown in.
I was slightly worried because this is book 2 and i had not yet read book 1, but it holds itself well as a standalone. But I can guarantee you will want more. Avery and her mysterious and handsome neighbor Luys make this book amazing. The pace of it was great. I didn’t want to even put it down and when I had to, I couldn’t stop thinking of what was going to happen next! Definitely read this book.

Midnight MagicMidnight Magic by Gina Kincade
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Witch Switch is just one of the many stories in this anthology. It is the second book in the series, but you don’t need to read the first to enjoy this one. This is a complete story, so you aren’t left hanging. It is about Cheyenne and Rafe, two people who were not supposed to fall in love. Rafe started out trying to do the right thing and following through on the marriage arranged by his family, but instead he chooses love. His former bride-to-be is not happy with this and does what she can to force the original marriage. Because it is short, the story moves quickly and things resolve quickly. I enjoyed this story, though I do feel a bit more setup or background info on the story or characters would make this story even better.

I really like finding new authors and books. This was just the ticket. I like how there is just enough drama to balance out the romance and it’s my absolute favorite genre paranormal romance. The characters are well written and I felt as though I was right in the midst of the action.

The author does a real good job of brining the characters to life. I like how there is a bit of drama and that the story wasn’t predictable. The author really had a refreshing idea and really brought it to life. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Switching witches is always a bad idea. But for Rafe and Cheyenne it seemed like the best option. As Rafe chooses love over his arranged marriage. Leaving his ex angry and out to make chaos and mayhem. Let’s read how these 3 people make this a fun to read story. This story is book 2 in this anthology. Many emotions will be exposed, along with evil vs good. I really enjoyed reading this paranormal romance. This anthology has many new authors for me. Which always makes reading exciting. I love the characters and the families they come from. I’m sure you too will enjoy this paranormal romance anthology. No spoilers given. Take a chance on this boxed set.

Taming of the Few (Guardians of the PHAE Book 1) by Rowan Dillon – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Taming of the FewTaming of the Few by Christy Nicholas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Taming of the Few is an exciting urban fantasy, the first in the Guardians of the PHAE series. People around their world are finding dormant magical abilities and mutations manifesting, and facing discrimination and violence as people respond in fear. PHAE have established a haven in Ireland, attracting “Unhidden” who have no option but to leave their own lives behind.
This is an engrossing and entertaining book. The characters really make it for me – they feel like people I know (albeit with paranormal abilities I’m not aware of my friends having!). We learn what makes them feel comfortable and safe, and then watch as they’re taken away from their comfort zone. There are plenty of moments of lightness and character-focused scenes as well as the action and drama.
One thing I really like is that the Unhidden aren’t overpowered. Many have niche and specific abilities, or even inconvenient physical mutations. This means that those who object to the Unhidden can pose a real threat, with the numbers and aggression to have the upper hand. It also means characters can’t rely wholly on their abilities to keep themselves and each other safe.
I’d recommend this book to fans of superhero stories like the X-Men, with characters learning to cope with new and growing powers. It gets five stars from me, and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

Ciarán Donnelly is ready to leave his past behind and concentrate on his new life, but his past may not be finished with him. His dreams have returned with a vengeance, and this time they’re telling him Ruadhán, the long-dead priest who entombed him fifteen hundred years before, is threatening to kidnap his unborn twins. Of course, his dream interpretation leaves a lot to be desired, especially when it comes to those he loves.

As if the dreams are not bad enough, his anxiety over them is causing stress on his new marriage, which is the last thing Caitlin needs in her current condition. The twins are on the way, and everyone advises him the dreams stem from his own insecurities over becoming a father. After all, Ruadhán was the chief priest, a member of the high council, loyal to his goddess unto death. What are the chances he suffered the same fate as Ciarán and survived fifteen centuries?

The theory sounds reasonable, and he’s happy to accept it, until Aodhán comes across an empty tomb in the Hills of ár Sinsear that looks as though it may have been occupied at some point. Could Ruadhán have survived after all? And if so, where is he now? To complicate the issue, Aodhán stumbles across another piece of information that could alter the possible meaning of his brother’s dreams. But will Ciarán manage to put the pieces together before it’s too late, or will he lose his family to an ancient adversary?

Captivated (Hybrid Lovers Series Book 1) by Toya Richardson – Review by Vanessa Watts

Captivated (Hybrid Lovers, #1)Captivated by Toya Richardson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a sexy as sin book that I couldn’t put down. The physical scenes were extremely descriptive and downright naughty but in the best way imaginable. It kind of makes other books look tame.

Angelina, a pretty successful artist, is leading her life in the most normal way possible when she is kidnapped at night walking home to her apartment. This is the start of a very long tailspin for her as she comes to the realization that demons are real and her erotic dreams may border reality more than she could envision. Luca and Salvatore, hybrid angels and vampires, never expect to find their mate let alone save her from a demon. As the attraction between them grows and Angelina is thrust more into this world of good vs. evil she faces challenges that seem too big for her to handle. Can they form a powerful trio to stop the one demon hellbent on destroying them? Or will Amgelina have to face the very real death of not only herself but the two mates that she is deeply in love with?

This book had me going through all the feels as I envisioned the scenes playing out like a movie in my head. I cried, literal tears, was angry, and even laughed at the antics of Luca, Salvatorre, and Angelina. If you like super descriptive, heady, adult themed content books with a fantasy aspect and menage tre thrown in then this is a must read book. I will wait with baited breath for a possible sequel to come out to figure out what happens next for this trio and hopefully some cliffhangers get resolved!

I really enjoyed this story. This is book 2 in the series however it can be read as a standalone and is still really enjoyable. This book is definately one of favourite so far this year. It had a mixed of all the elements I love in a story. It is action packed with action, danger, a little romance, Paranormal and twists and turns you dont see coming. No one is who they seem and that is what keeps the reader guessing.
Both our main character have secrets that need to come our in the open if they are to be saved. There are foces working against them that they dont realise and when Avery’s life is in danger she needs to work with her neighbour Luys to solve the danger. Can they stop this killer before its too late? What secrets is Luys hiding and will they put Avery’s life in even more danger then it already started off in?
This story is a gripping read which has you turning pages so fast to uncover the secrets and solve the mystery of who attacked Avery and why.

This is a fascinating paranormal romance that really had me gripped from the very beginning and was hard to put down. I had not read any work by this author before so was unsure what to expect from this book, but I can say that I will definitely read their work again in future.
When Avery wakes up after a night out and discovers that she’s naked and that her chest has been cut open and sewn shut again, she has no idea what has happened. She has no recollection of anything after going to bed after a few drinks with friends.
This opening to the book sure pulls you into the story straight away. You just want to keep reading to find out what happened to her. Add into the mix her hot neighbour who is hiding some secrets of his own and you are in for a fantastic read.
The story is medium to fast paced and flows very well, keeping the reader engaged and entertained.
I really loved the characters of Avery and hot neighbour Luys. Both are very intriguing and you want to keep reading to find out more about them. What secrets are they hiding?
I would 100% recommend this book.

But, they believe their love is worth it. When Meredith starts playing dirty, Cheyenne wishes her powers would return to so she could defeat her on her own. But, when Cheyenne gets some test results back…she will learn that love and family can be stronger than even magic.

This is the first book in the Hybrid Lovers series. This was not my first Toya Richardson book as I previously read Wild Desires. The story focuses on the human Angelina and her fated mates Luca and Salvatore who are anything but human. They are a hybrid of angels and vampires combined which I didn’t think would be a combination that would work. This reverse harem paranormal romance was captivating, immersive and so so hot. I read this in one sitting and could not put this down as I devoured each page. Toya’s world building and character development are second to none and gave me a new fantasy I never know could exist!! The throuple I didn’t know I needed in my life!
Angelina Squires is a normal artist with some strange, exotic dreams of two men pleasing her in ways she has never been pleased before. When she sees these two men in real life, her life changes forever…
Salvatore and Luca de Laurentis, a pair of hybrid twins between angels and vampires have been waiting to meet their mate for centuries. When they get the scent of Angelina, they know she is the one they have been waiting for and arrive just in time to save her from the demon Viktor whose main goal (like all demons) is to take over the world. Now that Viktor has discovered their mate Angelina, they only have so long to convince her to take on the role and responsibilities that entails.
I enjoyed this book! If it wasn’t for life and adulting, I could have finished this book in a couple of hours. It’s not often that the first book in a series can bring me to tears; and yet, the emotions were so well written that that’s exactly what happened. There were moments within the book that I did want more plot than adoration, but I was still captivated to the page.

I had yet to read anything by this author, and I absolutely love refreshing new takes on how to write novels, as different writing styles, the world building and character developments seem to vastly differ depending on preference. I loved the way this author owned that skill, and not only were we whisked away from the first page, but the connection I felt with Luca, Salvatore, and Angelina was instant and my need to read was over the top. There was a clear story here, though different challenges are introduced along the way, but never leaving any question unanswered, until the end, of course!

I have always thought that the connection between lovers was important, and although earthbound folks such as myself don’t have the ability to read minds, the abilities shared between the brothers and their mate was so creative, entertaining, and intense. It was thrilling to be able to get all three of their opinions/thoughts throughout the novel due to this, and I applaud the author for the introduction of this method of sharing. I so look forward to the rest of the series, as I was left on the edge of my seat. Well done, highly recommend!

Avery wakes up in her own bed at home alone. She has been cut open and sewn back together. What happened and why? Then the killings start, is there a serial killer and does this relate to what happened to Avery? I do not want to say much more as I want you to go on the same amazing rollercoaster I did.

This was a great short story and one that I really enjoyed. I really enjoyed the authors writing and also was a great introduction to her as a new author. An extremely well done look into what happens if suddenly a subset of the population suddenly changes…
You can suddenly change your eye color, move things with your mind… cool right?
No! new things breed mass hysteria and fear and people with abilities are hunted, arrested and attacked…even though they’ve never lifted a finger against others.
We meet a few characters who have been through world changing experiences and find themselves thrust into protecting others like them. Do they rally together, or is there traitors in their ranks?

this is an intriguing opener to a world of fantasy and emerging powers I’m interested as to where the author takes this group of characters.

Nite Fire: Exit Strategy by C.L. Schneider – Review by Roxsanne Lesieur.

Exit Strategy (Nite Fire #5)Exit Strategy by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dahlia Nite, the shapeshifting, scaled vigilante is back and it is the end of the world, or at least the beginning of the end, everything she thought she knew and trusted has been ripped apart at the seams and she doesn’t know where to go or what to do first and her list has just been added to again. As she recovers from the shock of the city being brought to its knees and the disappearance of half of her team without so much as a note or message to say where they have gone, she has to go on fighting for the place she has come to love and where has almost become home, but for Dahlia, as usual, nothing is straight forward.

First on the list is both to try and stay alive and keep those on her team which are left alive, this is easier said than done as rubble is strewn all over Sentinel City, fires are burning out of control and the skyline has been completely changed by the attack

.Second, she has to figure out a way to stop the blight and halt the spread of this over the linked worlds, while also trying to figure out where it came from and how it adapts to each environment so quickly.

Thirdly she has to find a way to close the exits which are forming as the veil slowly disintegrates and which are popping up all over the place and causing more trouble than they are worth, not to mention the influx of supernatural creatures which are using them.

In place number four, she has the mad scientist who is bent on world domination and who is thriving in the chaos around them and using it to their advantage.

Finally, she has the lovely dragon inside her who she hopes is about to divulge the information she needs to tackle all of the above, but who is also done with being blocked and starts to take matters into their own hands.

With all that commotion, there is no time for grief, emotion or sometimes even to breathe, but as Dahlia makes the hard choices, will she be able to complete all her tasks before the Renewal takes any chance away from her? This is a fast paced urban fantasy adventure full of action, adventure, hurdles and stress come together in this race against the end of the world where secrets and lies obstruct plans and those fighting to stop it are overwhelmed and under pressure to find a solution in the gripping final instalment to the series.
