Captivated (Hybrid Lovers Series Book 1) by Toya Richardson – Review by Amanda Chrissomalis

Captivated (Hybrid Lovers, #1)Captivated by Toya Richardson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well, I’m not normally into reading Sci-Fi books, but this may change my perspective. Captivated is the most PERFECT title for this book! Toya Richardson had me hooked from the first page. Sexy, mysterious, action packed!! Let’s see how this goes.

Angelina is a small-time artist just getting started in her gallery. She has been having the weirdest of dreams about 2 sexy faceless men and captured them in her art. What she didn’t know is that these two men were about to change her entire life.

Luca and Salvatore are twin brothers. But they are not of this world. Half Vampire, half Angel, making them hybrids. They have a bond like no other, making them fierce, but something is still missing… If they don’t find that something who knows what could happen!?

Is prophecy and Love enough to save them all? Or will the heartache and confusion be their undoing?

Witch Switch (Bewitch Me Book 2) (in Midnight Magic Anthology) by Louisa Bacio – Review by Shai Flores

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Witch Switch by Louisa Bacio is one of the stories included in this collection. I enjoyed the basic plot of forbidden love, parents that don’t approve, a jealous ex, and a struggle to find oneself. I did wish that it was longer so that I could have appreciated all of the many aspects of this story. If this story is something you enjoy, there are other books in her series that focus on some of the supporting characters. I love a good paranormal romance and I liked the idea of the male and female powers being connected. I look forward to reading the other books in this collection since there seems to be something for everyone.

I don’t always enjoy anthologies as I find myself losing interest quite quickly but this is one that I am glad I tried. Witch Switch was such a great story. I found it so easy to connect with and thought there were some great characters involved. This is an author I am slightly familiar with and I enjoyed being able to see more of her work. The book fit well with the theme of the anthology but I felt it also stood out of its own. This is a thoroughly enjoyable book.

The Anthology as a whole was amazing! It was everyone you expected and more. I started without stopping until the end!

**Louisa Bacio/ Witch Switch**
My first read with this author and I immediately added multiple books to my TBR after. This tale was spicy, magical, full of old fashion revenge, and proof of the power of love. Rafe chooses love with Cheyenne and the tale starts from there. They must ward off the jealous and vengeful ex-witch who really goes above and beyond to try and keep her man. The story is short, sweet, and well worth the read!

Witch Switch is the second book in the ‘Bewitch Me’ series by Louisa Bacio, and is her contribution to ‘Midnight Magic: A Limited Edition Collection of Magical Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy Tales (Charmed Magic Collections)’.
This is a paranormal romance with witches, magic, mayhem, broken arrangements that lead to revenge, a bitter and twisted ex, good vs evil, danger, agendas, family, and a few dramatic developments. Being a short story, also makes it is a very quick and easy read.
When Rafe chooses true love over an arranged marriage, he had no idea the chaos that would then ensue. A bitter ex with revenge on her mind puts his love in danger- and results in a bit of a witch switch. What happens makes for a fun read.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Louisa Bacio!

This paranormal romance really blew me out of the water. I have read a couple books by this author now and she is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. The main characters in this book are simply amazing, and with the help of the storyline and plot our author draws us in from the very beginning and takes us on a crazy ride. Full of drama, romance, family and more you definitely won’t want to miss this one.

This is not typically a book that I read as it was not something that immediately jumped out at me, but I am so glad that I read this book. The writing was impeccable and had me clinging onto every word of every page. Hope and Russ have a very cute relationship that is told in the best way possible. Hope has a telepathic gift whereas Russ is normally someone she can help, however there are major differences that she has with him versus others that she has helped. Their story is lighthearted. fun and just an all-around cute read. I absolutely adore this authors writing and cannot wait to find another one of her novels to read!

This is a great collection of paranormal stores. The book I most enjoyed is Witch Switch by Lousia Bacio. This story was gripping from the first page. The characters were engaging and you really felt like you were on this journey with them.

In this story we follow Cheyenne and Rafe.
This couple long to be together, however there is 2 things keeping them apart. Firstly Rafe’s family don’t think Cheyenne is good enough for Rafe since she doesn’t want and rejects her magic. However the biggest thing is that Rafe is already promised to another Witch called Meredith.
Meredith is a very powerful Witch and very dangerous as she doesn’t use her magic for good. When Meredith finds out that Rafe doesn’t want to marry her she gets angry and goes for the one person he wants Cheyenne.
Now Cheyenne and Rafe need to find a way to stop Meredith before she can cause anymore harm. But when Cheyenne tries to reach her magic she can’t make it work.
Has her magic deserted her after she rejected it? Will Cheyenne be able to defeat Meredith even with her magic? And what lengths will Meredith go to to stop Rafe being with the woman he really loves.
This is a romance with a twist of a lover scorned and magic thrown into the mix.

Witch Switch really pulled me in from the very first page. Rafe’s family has arranged a marriage for someone that they think is a suitable partner for him. Rafe’s heart won’t be easily swayed though, he is in love with Cheyenne and he chooses her and is willing to do what it takes for them to be together. Cheyenne has witch powers that come naturally that she has never had a reason to use before. Now she has no choice when she comes face to face with a very angry bride that was tossed to the side. This book is so good! It’s full of romance, action, and magic and I highly recommend it.

Midnight Magic is a collection of paranormal romance stories by many great authors. I started with Louisa Bacio’s Witch Switch (Bewitch Me Book 2). I picked a random story to read and was glad I chose this one. I don’t want to give anything away but think of powers, battles, magic, romance, and more. I loved the title, and it only got better from there. Cheyenne and Rafe are great characters, and I enjoyed getting to know them. I haven’t read a lot from this author, but I will look for more of her books.

Taming of the Few (Guardians of the PHAE Book 1) by Rowan Dillon – Review by Shai Flores

Taming of the FewTaming of the Few by Christy Nicholas
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I was intrigued by this book because of the beautiful cover, as well as the fact that it takes place partly in Ireland which made it seem unique. I love the paranormal/fantasy genre and this book was full of interesting and original world-building. It was a lot of information to grasp, and I did have to go back and reread some things so I didn’t get confused on the characters or background information. I know that there is going to be another book (or more) so I am hoping that it will be a little easier to follow now that the characters have been explained.

I loved the idea of the individuals with special abilities having a place where they could be with other unique individuals in a place where they were safe and could learn about themselves. I thought a lot of the issues the characters had that came from being different could be connected to our world today, especially recently. I also am a teacher with anxiety about not always fitting in, so I connected with the main female character Anna a lot. I will definitely be checking out the next book in the series.

5 stars!!

Obsessed with this story! This book had all the elements in my opinion that make up a great paranormal read. There is steamy romance, drama, action, and what I’m calling horror. I was so happy to see Angelina getting to finally meet the men from her dreams, and how in love they all become with each other. Sal and Luca seem like the hybrid vampire/angels we would all be looking for in a mate. Then we have the menace that is Viktor, I wish he was destroyed in the very beginning, but then that wouldn’t leave us much of a story. He is a nasty creature, and the way he destroys everything and everyone to get to Angelina is so heartbreaking, especially when it comes to her best friend Cassie and her boyfriend Jake. This book left me happy, then excited, then devastated, and then back to happy again all in the span of a couple of hours. I could not put this book down, and it was so different to any other paranormal vampire romance. I really look forward to reading more from this author and can’t wait to see what comes next.

I enjoyed this paranormal story. This is the first book in this series and what a great start it is. I enjoyed the author’s writing skills that made the story come to life. I also enjoyed how this author used details to make the story pop. This is a well written story that is full of action and you don’t want to miss it. The characters are strong, connectable and supportive toward each other. This is a fast paced story that is easy to read and hard to put down. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the start. The growth of the plot made the story entertaining and had me coming back for more. This is a story where facing your enemy face to face is either going to take them down or it could be death for these characters. I really enjoyed this story and what the characters brought to the story. This filled my afternoon with a paranormal adventure. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens.

Angelina is a human living a normal life…if you don’t count the H-O-T dreams she is having about two guys at night. Her life is turned upside down when she finds herself in danger…and those two same guys show up to save her. Imagine her surprise when she finds out that she is the mate of both of these vampire/angel hybrids.
Salvatore and Luca will become even stronger when they bond with Angelina…which is why there are forces out to stop it from happening. And if it doesn’t happen…then the world as they know it will cease to exist. When Angelina is forced to make the decision that will determine the course of the world…what will she do?!?
This was such a good book. It is a twist on the normal fated mates book by adding a second mate and all the different characters determined to keep it from happening. I was entertained the whole way through…and am excited to see what happens next!

I have been a fan of this author for quite some time now, and I still to this day fall in love with every single book they create and write. This one was no different. I was sucked in and held while I watched the story take flight and unravel on its own terms. The writing and story was amazing. Loved it!

I have always been a person who love s paranormal novels. This one was certainly one that took home the cake though. I was given darkness with action and the light of love. I was very connected to all the characters. I felt I was right there with them fighting the evils that they had to face, along with their decisions which at times did not come easy. Very gripping and compelling novel! I was truly intrigued! I cant wait to read more in the series! This is a series I will very much enjoy with all my heart and soul!

As always, this author has created a world and book of characters that are well, indescribable. I was hooked and in deep with this book! A must read for sure! Highly recommend this novel and author!

I loved this book, it was very suspenseful, and had a lot going on in good way. I found things added up nicely a i read, and I questioned literally everything! I was at the edge of my seat while reading!

This book was a well written mystery story, Suspense was amazing and also the action. They perfectly complimented each other through out the book. I found secrets were the main object of the story, I could not prepare myself for when something greater than the secrets I knew of came to light. Shock face was made with my facial expressions. That’s why I loved this book so much, it kept you guessing, and wondering what would occur next. Nothing was what it seemed! Amazing writing! Loved it!

Fantastic writing and for sure a very amazing author as well. This book is a must read. I read it all in almost one sitting. I could not put it down. Highly recommend this must read book! It’s amazing!

This is a fascinating paranormal story. Avery finds herself brutally attacked and has no idea what happened to her or who was responsible for it. Horrible, violent murders start to occur all around her and she starts to wonder if her attack is related. Luys doesn’t want to get involved but he can’t stand to watch her suffer in constant danger. He doesn’t want to reveal his past but he doesn’t see any other way to help her. They’re drawn to each other, each not sure if it’s safe to trust and they have to face so much danger together. This book is full of action, romance, suspense and the paranormal and it’s told from different viewpoints. I enjoyed that because it gives you additional insights into the story and each of the unique characters. This was an amazing story that you won’t want to miss and I absolutely cannot wait to read more from this author.

After going out for drinks with friends Avery is viciously attacked. Who could have done this? Someone she knows or a complete stranger? Who can she trust? Enter her hot, brooding neighbor Luys. He keeps to himselg mostly due to his personal preference, but also to keep people safe. Trouble seems to follow him wherever he goes. When he sees his attractive neighbor struggling to stay upright trying to make it to her vehicle he steps in to help. He only meant to drop her off at the hospital, but ends up staying to make sure everything was okay and take her back home. Why does Luys feel the need to try and protect Avery? Will their attraction turn into more? Will Avery get the closure she needs by seeing her attacker be put behind bars?

This story was a little different than the paranormal stories I’m used to, but I did enjoy it. Even though this is the second book in a series I didn’t feel lost starting with this one. I will most likely check out book one because I don’t want to feel like I missed out on something that may have been important or explained in this book.

A Long Kiss Goodbye is a nice dark treat and probably one of the best books I have read this year. It gets all your senses kicked into high gear. The story is fast-paced, thrilling and I love the way HD has cleverly woven all the delicate threads contained in this twisty plot. It is intriguing and suspenseful, steamy and a page turner that you are unable to put down. With dark secrets and lies around every corner, assault and murder looming in the dark, evil lurking in the shadows, it’s a wonder anyone is safe. Intrigue, action packed drama, thrills and suspense are the name of the game.

This is the follow on from A Kiss Before Dying which I discovered after I had finished but I did not feel I was missing a thing. This is my first-time reading HD’s work and I enjoyed the writing so much that I am going to go and devour the rest of her work.

I am not giving anything away because this is one little gem you need to discover the intensity of the story all by yourself. This is one of two books that you don’t want to miss out on.

This is an enjoyable and exciting paranormal romance with plenty of suspense to keep any reader hooked. When Avery is brutally attacked, there is no motive, and no suspect. Then days later when a neighbour is found dead, the second mutilated body to be found, it’s presumed that a serial killer is on the loose in Scottsdale. When Avery learns that her attack was not random or normal, she does not know who to trust, she even sees her next door neighbour, Luys act of kindness as being sinister. Meanwhile, Luys has his own secrets and a past he wants to keep hidden.
When Avery is attacked, Luys knows that a killer deadlier than any human is to blame, and that he needs to protect her. Luys knows that if he trusts Avery he will be exposing his dark history. With a killer, “filled with a seething need for vengeance”, on the loose the couple join forces to find the killer, knowing they might not survive. As their attraction grows they start to wonder if a relationship between them is doomed from the start. The characters were well defined and the chemistry between Avery and Luys really came across in the narrative. This had a fast paced storyline with plenty of plot twists and turns that kept me happily turning the pages.

An excellent collection from a multitude of great authors. So many different styles of writing, different takes on paranormal romance and a whole lot of fun. With Witch switch, I found this story to be a steamy, drama filled quick read! Rafe being stuck with Meredith, seems like the worst fate for him. His love for Cheyenne though, gives him all the courage he needs to go against his parents and what is expected of him to be with her. At first I thought Cheyenne was going to be a weak damsel in distress type, but she proved me wrong when it came down to fighting for her family and the man she loved. There is drama, steamy romance and magic all packed into a short story! I look forward to Reading about Justina, Cheyenne’s sister. I am also hoping we get to see what becomes of the nasty witch Meredith.

One day everything changes and when she’s in fear for her life those same two men appear and save her. She’s the fated mate of not one brother but both. They have to fight demons along the way if they want to have a chance at true happiness. This was such a great book I just couldn’t set it down once I started reading.
