Wow! This book packs an emotional wallop! I feel like I’ve had my own heartbroken with the conclusion of Scott and Zelda’s story. These two have been through the wringer. Little Julianna tries so hard to help. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to talk to ghosts. What a terrific job with this book! The characters are familiar and like coming home to family and the story kind of just picks up from the first book. Then, as everything is going along, BAM!!! Plot twist! Well played, well played. Get out there and get yourself this series. One of recommended favorites of 2021.
Snowfall Serenade by Nikki Lynn Barrett is the third book in the Soul Connection series. For me you definitely need to have read the other books on this series before this one in order to fully enjoy it. This book is such an emotional story. Your heart becomes thoroughly invested in the story and everything the characters go through. More than once I shed a few tears at this book, which I really think is testament as to how well the boom has been written. You really go on the journey with these characters, it is impossible not to. This is such a brilliant series but this book is definitely favourite so far. I would highly recommend this series to everyone!
Boy, am I glad that I decided to read this book right away after the other books in the Soul Connection series! The third book in the series, Snowfall Serenade brought back the story of Scott and Zelda, which made me ecstatic and helped me read it that much quicker!
Just like the previous books in the series, each chapter in this book was an emotional roller coaster, and at the end of every chapter I wondered what would happen next. So many things had changed in the lives of Scott and Zelda since the first book, and it was interesting to watch where each chapter lead their story. I reached the end far too quickly and can’t wait to read another book in the series.
Yet another emotional roller coaster, Sleeping Angel by Nikki Lynn Barrett is the second book in the Soul Connection series and I flew through it just as quick as the first one! I am glad that I started it as soon as I finished the first one, it certainly didn’t disappoint!
The book was a bit different from the first one, but the story that Barrett has written in the story about Logan and Angel is just as intriguing as this one. I was excited to see Scott and Zelda make an appearance in the novel, as I was very much hoping for a continuation in their story. I am excited to see what the next book in the series will entail, but after reading these two know it will be very well-written!
Another perfect book to read during spooky season, Peaceful Slumber by Nikki Lynn Barrett, the first in the Soul Connection series, is a romantic ghost story that will pull in all readers. From the very beginning, the story is full of mystery and suspense, the reader wondering at the end of every chapter what will happen next.
The chemistry between Scott and Zelda is tangible as helps her to figure out what has happened to her. How did she die? Where did she come from? All of these questions and more are at the forefront of their minds throughout the book, making it a quick read as more questions arise as others are being answered.
This is the first book by Nikki Lynn Barrett that I have read, but I plan to read the next two books in the Soul Connections series right away, as I fell in love with the characters she has written and am excited to see what comes next in their stories!
Serena is a Sea Mage who has her love for the ocean and for her family. She also has love for others. She is on a secret mission for her guild for one month. So much goes on and it holds you in for it all! I didn’t know this was a series, so I will get the rest to catch up then complete! The love, drama, friendships, and relationships in this series is great!

The story was definitely interesting. It follows a sea mage who is charged with looking after an important baby for a month. The is adventure, danger, and high stakes get away! This is book 10 in the series, but they all appear to be stand alone books. This is the only one I have read so far, and I did not feel lost at all. I enjoyed the familiar and I liked the romance that was in the story. I wish it was longer and that the princess has a bit more page time, but it was an enjoyable story none the less!

Romance author Brooke May spends her days writing whatever her overactive imagination has brewed up and her evenings reading while she works alongside her mom. Telling stories is second natural to her, from a young age she has told anyone who would listen what she had thought up. Now, a mom of two, she splits her time writing, playing with her kids, and of course, hiking, hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling in her beloved Bighorn Mountains.

Edward’s Magic of intuition combined with Mia’s Earth Magic sends flames across the pages of this tale. While I was a bit put off on book four I absolutely loved book 5. Author AJ Renee brings back her originality, great imagination and fun writing style to make this story unforgettable! What a great end (if it really is the end, which I am also a bit sad about) to an overall amazing series.

Nite Fire: Smoke & Mirrors Audio Book by C.L. Schneider
Narrated by Cassandra L. King
Five Stars
Nite Fire: Smoke & Mirrors is the third book in the Nite Fire Series by C.L. Schneider. This book can be read as a standalone but I would recommend you read this series in order because C.L. Schneider is such a great storyteller and world builder that you definitely won’t want to miss all the great backstory. This story is full of action and adventures. The characters are fantastic and so detailed it feels like you are investigating right alongside them. This book is a real roller coaster of a ride, so buckle up and jump on this wonderful ride.
This book is also narrated by Cassandra L. King, like the first two books. I love the tone of her voice and she really brings the characters to life. I can’t wait to listen to the next installment.

L. Schneider – Review by Sunday Barnaby
Carter and Vanessa’s story is sweet and touching. I have loved reading this series and that is why I was a bit sad when certain bits of the story fell flat for me. There could have been more details and the story could have been filled out a bit to add to it that mystical, suspenseful, romantic bent that really set these stories apart from other paranormal romances. Carter is a healer and fortuitously a doctor by trade. Vanessa finds a neighbor at death’s door and rushes him to the emergency where she meets Carter and the sparks fly. So while this book was far from my favorite in this series I am not giving up on AJ Renee. I still loved the first three books and have high hopes for book 5.

What do you get when you cross a witch and a werewolf? Mystical multicolored sparks that fly off every surface available! Book three in the Broderick Coven is an amazing tale of good verses evil, curses verses blessings. Or blessings amid curses rather! Emotionalpalooza, this book will have you laugh, cry, cover your mouth so you don’t scream out loud. (A warning … this book contains content that may trigger some people who have dealt with abusive situations) however the author dealt with it in a very classy way. While book two remains my favorite so far in this series I absolutely cannot wait for the fourth installment! AJ Renee is definitely on my list of favored authors!

Sea Mage is a delightful tale with lots of fun and intrigue. Serena is a great heroine – intelligent, brave, and never shies away from defending a loved one. Her membership in the Nightshade Guild, and relationships with other sea friends and familiars make for great character development. The tiny future elven queen is an adorable toddler, whose knowledge and strength exceed her years. I loved following this story, and love affair, through all the twists and turns as Serena demonstrates just how much a sea mage is capable of. This is a very fun story, I recommend it.

Looking for magic, mystery, suspense and steamy romance? Look no further you have found it in this amazing series by author AJ Renee. This tale is innovative and inspired. AJ Renee is truly a visionary with an impressive imagination. Series novels that have a continuing arc are my favorite reads especially when they continue to show you previous characters stories intertwined with the new stars of the next novels. This series does just that and we continue to catch glimpses into Brandy’s life. Brandy was the heroine in book one, Cursed Love. You definitely want to start with book one. These stories are intertwined and really can not be read as a stand alone book. In this book we follow Brandy’s brother, Ethan who had just found out he is an Oracle and Serena who is High Priestess of her coven. Will their attraction turn to love and will their love be strong enough to defy even the strongest magical forces? HEA ahead!!! AJ Renee has a new fan! I am on to book three!! You won’t regret reading this series.

Zelda and Scott are back and as if life wasn’t complicated enough between marriage, parenting and the ghosts which only Scott can see, their life is complicated at best, but they are trying their best, but the ghosts especially are coming between them and Scott is overwhelmed with the amount surrounding him everyday and he feels like he is missing out on time with his family. Although they have things to work through, Scott and Zelda are faced with a life changing decision, one that will change their family forever and while they are trying to make it, Scott keeps being called away by the dead searching for closure, but one day the worst happens and Zelda is involved in a hit and run accident and because of her injuries, Scott has to make a decision bigger than any he has before, but which will change both of their lives forever.
When Zelda wakes up from surgery, Scott has to break the news of the choice he has made and the consequences of his decision and it almost breaks them, the grief they have known before is nothing compared to this and Zelda fears that this, as well as the stress they were already under is leading her to a place she never wanted to return to. As they are reeling from this unexpected change, they begin to think that maybe they can start to get a handle on life, however, things go from bad to worse when a particular ghost turns up, one whom they are both familiar with, but no-one more so than Scott.
A blast from Scott’s past whom he never thought he would see or hear from again, has reappeared in death, but has brought along a living, breathing child with them, a child which is Scott’s, a child from a time he wanted to forget, but he needed closure for. As Scott communicates with and works through all the turmoil around him, Zelda is also battling demons of her own and the one person she needs is the one person she is pushing away, but will they be able to work through all of the stress and turmoil in their lives together, or will it break the bond they have tried so hard to maintain? This is another fantastic book in this series where secrets are revealed when past and present collide to create a maelstrom of emotions, experiences and events which spin you on a wild ride as you go through everything along with Scott, Zelda and those around them as you follow along their path until its conclusion.
Serena Moon is a member of The Nightshade Guild who lives on the coast of SoCal, she embodies what from the outside looks like the typical beach babe with long, blonde hair and a love of the beach and the sea, but underneath that lies the soul of a sea mage, she loves her life and where she lives, but it also helps that a handsome sea dragon shifter named Peder also lives in the sea nearby. As part of her responsibilities for the Guild, she has to take on a charge for a month, this charge is a very young elven queen who she needs to keep safe from those who would want to take advantage of her, however, although Serena has babysat before, she has no idea how to be a full on parental figure, even of it is just for a month.
When Serena meets up with the previous Guardian to take the small elf into her care, she asks about anything which happened but only received an evasive answer and what looks like a whole lot of relief to be rid of the responsibility she now holds and that worries Serena more than she thought it would. When she takes the young girl home with her, strange things start to happen around her and she has to seek the help of Peder to keep them safe, all the while being plagued with doubt that she is enough.
As they work together, they become closer, however, Serena is worried that if she lets her guard down that she will hurt both herself and Peder if she has to choose between her responsibilities and her heart, but she wishes she could allow herself to dream of a possible future for them. Will Serena and Peder be able to keep the small bundle of power safe from those who wish her harm, or will her worst fears come to pass and she fails her charge? This a fantasy with a romantic twist which is full of excitement and mystery as magic crosses paths with magic and adventures ensue, while the undercurrent pulls you along and keeps you there until the tide deposits you at the end.
I have been falling in love with the Soul Connection Series from Nikki Lynn Barrett from the very first book, but I do think that this one, Snowfall Serenade, has to be my favorite book so far. I would personally recommend reading these books in order for the full effect and enjoyment of the series. This one really sucked me in and I was completely taken away with the storyline. I felt this one a bit more closely maybe I don’t know, but it really just sucked me in and ripped my heart out at times. I may have even found myself choking up a few moments. The paranormal elements were done in a manner that was extremely believable and I find that extremely entertaining and difficult to do sometimes with paranormal novels lately. The character development is really on point in this one as well which is something I have seen grown with Ms. Barrett from the first book as well and I am loving it. I am so excited to see what the next book will bring us.
Having picked this book up as the first I’m reading in this series, the author did a great job with world building and character development to the point that I didn’t realize it was book 10 of a whole series. I look forward to seeing how the story progresses (and what I’ve missed so far) with the main characters and even some of the supporting characters. Getting just a taste of the powers the toddler elven princess possesses is intriguing and it will be interesting to see how she grows into and develops her magic.
The book takes place while Ameria is in the care of Serena, a mermaid. The two ladies are helped by Serena’s friend, Peder, after dark forces attack Serena’s home front and it threatens the safety of Serena’s sister and her family. Peder offers additional protection in his underwater kingdom until the mermaid’s duties are fulfilled. Sprinkle in a little romance between Serena and Peder, and some bad guys in the form of reanimated pirates and shadow figures, and this fantasy adventure makes for a fun read that’s difficult to put down.

This is the third book in this series by this author I have read and let me just say…WOW! What a wave of emotions I am feeling. What a catharsis I just experienced. Since I had already read the previous two books in the series I had an idea of what I would be getting, but I had to put this book down many more times to get out the tissues and ugly cry. She can bring such detail into her books that you literally get the feeling you are the main character. And she does not disappoint in bring these stories to life. As with the previous two books I was hooked from the first chapter of the book, and I was sad when it ended because I wanted it to continue. Unfortunately, that’s the sad part about books. They grab hold of you and then leave you wanting more. This was no different. I will advise that while this could be read as a stand alone book I do feel that it would be best for the reader to read them in order. I think that will give you a better meaning and understanding of her stories. I highly recommend this book and this series, especially if you feel the need to free all your emotions.
This is the third book in the Soul Connection series. Nikki Lynn Barrett has done an incredible job telling these stories and I was thrilled to find out there are even more coming. If you haven’t read the first two books, I would recommend doing so. There is so much back story to be told. I love paranormal books, and to be in a world that people help ghosts cross over is utterly wonderful for me. Scott and Zelda are introduced in book one, and this book continues their story. Ghosts, secrets, and a bucket of emotions are packed into this story. Have your box of Kleenex ready as you enter their world.
Another book in the Broderick Coven Series this book main focus is Vanessa and Carter. The writing is impeccable and the flow of the story just hits right, you feel a connect to the characters straight away. Carter a gifted healer he’s such a lovely soul. Vanessa a career driven lady with a hell of compassion and a brain to boot. Just read and see.

Another great book to add to the Broderick Coven Series. Reene has done great at her descriptive work and bringing all these creatures and this world into a bright shining light. Edward and Mia are the main character in this book Edward is absolutely amazing he has great intuition. Mia is a neglected young lady by her parents but yet so strong.

I have never heard of this author before, but after reading the synopsis I decided to give it a go. It’s definitely a quick read that took just under two hours to read cover to cover.
This book pulls you in right from the start with action and maintains that perfect pace from start to finish. The characters are well thought out and the scene description makes it feel like you’re right there with the characters.
We start out with Serena having to take over nanny duties for the elven princess orphan whose parents were murdered. She runs into trouble as soon as the shadows close in. Add to that toddler tantrums with severe weather phenomenon and that spells a recipe for disaster. What about Peder? Can Serena trust him with her secrets or does he have to many secrets of his own? Can the guild figure out who killed the elven rulers while defending the heir to the throne? You’ll have to read this book to answer those questions. Having just finished this book myself I want to read them all so I don’t miss a thing in this enchanted world!

This was a fun read. I really like the mythical story of Elvan princess, mermaids, shifters and magic. In this story it is Serena’s turn as a mage to watch over the young princess for a time, and to keep her safe. The romance between her and Peder is sweet. I really enjoyed watching as she was shy with her feelings around him at first and he was always watching her from afar to Peder assisting in keeping Ameria and her safe. The clash of the two different worlds had me fearing for the future of their relationship but I am holding out hope that this is not the last we see of this couple and the next book will have their continuation. Definitely recommended read for any paranormal, mythical creature lover.

The struggle of good verses evil takes a twisted turn when Lucy Walker begins to have disconcerting encounters with the unexplainable. Every moment of this story is filled with action and adventure and was completely packed with unforeseeable twists and turns. The Author, Pauline Gruber, writes in such detail that she literally brings this story and it’s characters to life. So excellent was this story I couldn’t put it down. In fact not only couldn’t I put it down but I instantly picked up the next book just to get more of this story! In one word it was … Phenomenal!

I really enjoyed Mia and Edwards story in this Paranormal Romance. Being my first AJ Renee book I was pleasantly surprised, having not read the other books in the series I was still able to really enjoy this one and not feel too lost. I will definitely be adding her other books to my to read list! There was fantastic chemistry between the characters and great world building. I found it such a easy enjoyable read and before I knew it I had finished the book. Definitely a must read to Paranormal Romance lovers.

Snowfall Serenade was a really good read. I don’t think anything is going to come close to the magical, suspense filled treasure that was the first book but this was a great continuation of Zelda and Scott’s story. They go through trial after trial in this book, more than any couple should have to go through. This was an emotional, action packed book from the first chapter. This series is quickly becoming a favorite. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books Barrett is working on and planning for this series!
This is a beautiful story that shares the journey of Scott and Zelda. The story starts with a heart wrenching tragedy and difficult decision that Scott has to make. In the wake of the tragedy, Scott and Zelda find distance in their marriage and they are struggling to heal and find one another again. Add in Zelda’s mental illness and the fact that Scott and their daughter can not only see but talk to ghosts, and you have a rollercoaster of a journey! There were times where this story literally took my breath away. This is the third book in the series, and while I could follow along this fast paced story without getting lost and enjoy every step of the journey, I wish I would have some more of their background to really get to know and better understand the depth of their characters. I am going to go back and read the first two for sure!
