Wow I loved this continuation into the Broderick Coven Series! This book can be triggering so please check trigger warnings. But I absolutely loved following Max Broderick and Claudia and her daughter Katia. There were so many tender moments of healing and it felt therapeutic just to read in my opinion. I love AJ Renee’s world building and these stories surrounding the Broderick clan and this book only continued and added to my awe. Highly recommend this book!

I have had the Broderick Coven books on my TBR for an embarrassingly long time, and I finally had an opportunity to devote some devoted reading sessions to these books. So glad I made this happen because these books are everything I wanted them to be! I love a good paranormal storyline and this is really serving us some fantastic world building and plot! We follow the main characters of Ethan Broderick and Serena High Priestess of the Coven. Absolutely loved watching these two develop and grow together! Absolutely fantastic and highly recommend this series!

So to start off, I didn’t know about the first two books, but I am definitely going to go back and listen to them. CL Schneider was able to have it where I understood it all. The main Character Dahlia has a lot to uncover and work on with missing creatures of all kinds, masked men who are very flexible, and her friends sister still missing. With her human work, she investigates to find all she is looking for. This series is absolutely fascinating with all the different creatures, realms, and adventure. I can’t wait to finish the rest!

Snowfall Serenade is book three in the Soul Connection series by Nikki Lynn Barrett. This story captivated me from the blurb. I was intrigued by the little taste the author gave of the content. It was very well written and sucked me in from the beginning. A lot of emotions unfolded throughout this book. A lot happened to Zelda and Scott during their time together. There was drama aplenty with secrets, life changing events and the inner struggle to cope with the new norm. This story was engaging and endearing. Hard to cope with moments and difficult feelings to deal with, Zelda did well to keep hold of reality. Scott had to deal with new abilities, secrets being unravelled and learning how to forgive. It was a tumultuous journey, but one that was fulfilling and a true delight to read. Author Barrett spun a masterful tale that seized my attention and left me with a warm and contented feeling. 4 stars
This is not my first audible by this author but it is one of my favorites yet. I enjoyed how the narrator brought the story to life using different tones of voices. They kept the story engaging and had me want to listen to more. It is a great story where the characters come to life with each word. It is a story that is full of action from shapeshifters to creatures that lay hidden in the night. Dahlia and Alex are great characters. Secrets and killings, Dahlia has her hands full. But what will happen when worlds collide and secrets struggle to stay hidden? I highly recommend this audible, you won’t regret picking it up.

I enjoyed this paranormal romance story. This is an author I never hesitate to pick up. I enjoyed her writing skills and how her attention to details bring her stories to life. This book is no different. I was pulled in right from the beginning. It is a fast paced, how to put down story that has characters that are relatable and keeps the story engaging. This is the third book in this series which I highly suggest reading the previous two books to help your enhancement of this series. This is Zelda and Scott’s story. Theirs is one of secrets from the past and forgiveness. Between the voices in her head and Scott, she feels as if she is losing their battle. He has questions and no answers and keeps coming back to see if he can trust her again. What will happen to these two? What will fate have in store for them? They are great characters with great growth throughout the story. I also enjoyed the growth of the plot that kept me wanting to know what would happen next. Their chemistry is great and I found myself hoping they would find their happiness. This is a great story that is worth the pick up for sure. I highly recommend this book and this author.

How do you make a book better? You make an audio versio. This brings the book to more places and makes it easy for the reader to enjoy as they travel in their cars or are walking. The author has really got such a refreshing style. The characters are brought to life via the narrators voice. I felt as though I was right in the action as the drama unfolds.
I really find that I am drawn to Dahlia’s character. The way that the journey unfolds just draws you deeper and deeper into the story. I really like that it is a supernatural mystery. The mix of human and supernatural beings just adds to the story. The partnership of Dahlia and Creed really adds to the drama. Evens being a human and coping in the Supernatural world is just another added bonus. I really like how the author draws out the drama and the mystery . I will definitely be reading more from this author and I hope this series in the future.
Sea Mage by Louisa Bacio was very interesting to read. An orphaned elven princess who is a toddler is being protected by a guild of mages. Every month, a new mage takes responsibility for the tiny princess named Ameria. This a month is a mermaid shifter named Serenas turn.
Very little time has passed when Serena realizes that she may need help with this task. Peder, the king of sea dragon shifters offers, providing the book with a will they, won’t they atmosphere.
The reason why I gave this book a 3 out of 5 is because I expected more action from this book. There was very much and they action scenes that did make it into the book were very small and over with way too fast and easily at that. I would be interested in seeing more of Ameria’s power at work. I also felt as if the book was rushed. In a lot of places the author felt things very vague. Even the romance portion seemed rushed. It was not very believable.

Snowfall Serenade (Soul Connection #3) by Nikki Lynn Barrett. This is the 3rd book in the Soul Connection series and I have loved every one of them. I highly recommend reading the 1st two to learn who people are and to understand all that’s going on. This is Scott and Zelda’s story who we met in book 1. Scott was shot and almost died and can now see Ghosts as well as Zelda. Zelda is having trouble dealing with the fact that Scott is away chasing ghosts more than he’s home and with them having a young daughter and Zelda now being pregnant again she needs him home now more than ever. Communicating with these ghosts all the time is so consuming mentally and physically. When Scott has to make a life or death choice for Zelda things change for both of them. This is such a good paranormal romance. Will Zelda and Scott continue this life full of chasing ghosts or will they decide its taking too much from their real life. This book will keep you turning the pages all thru the night!
The Girl and The Demon by Pauline Gruber, is the third book in this series and a great book to read. The chapters switch from several different characters, which allows you to get a better picture of whats going on in the story and why. Snowfall Serenade (Soul Connection Book 3) by Nikki Lynn Barrett is another captivating paranormal romance story in this fantastic series. Nikki is a go to author for me and when I saw this book was out, I had to get it. Nikki has a way of telling a story that completely consumes you and the rest of the world fades away. I often get in trouble with people trying to talk to me and getting no response when I am lost in her narrative. Nikki has poured a lot of emotions within the story that makes you fall in love with these characters and makes your heart melt. I was so engrossed that putting the book down was not going to happen and before I knew it hours had passed.
I love paranormal and this has all the elements that made it a wonderful story. What with ghosts and mystery, a little drama and angst, a few secrets and romance what more could you ask for. This series is aptly named Soul Connection could not be more perfect.
Snowfall Serenade is the third book in the wonderful Soul Connection Series by Nikki Lynn Barrett. Having read the previous books and loving them as much as I did, I was quite excited when this third book hit my Kindle. I know I have said this many times before- but Ms. Barrett’s stories are very captivating, easily pulling me in and keeping me hooked right till the very end. She has a real talent for storytelling, and I can always count on her to deliver an engrossing, well written, and cleverly crafted story. As with the other two books in the series, this is another paranormal romance, with a wonderful supernatural touch that gives this series that extra element of interest. With romance, ghosts, drama, angst, a little heartache, family, mystery, emotion, secrets, high stakes, and revelations- this story packs quite a lot between the covers. As this story continues Scott and Zelda’s story, who we me back in book one, I highly recommend reading the other two books first before you start on this one. There is a lot of important information, backstory, and character details contained in the other books, that will really enhance your reading experience of this book. I have loved Scott and Zelda right from the beginning of the series, through their story in book one, and then again as supporting characters in book two. It was great to get to continue their story in a bit of an unexpected way. I really felt for them through this story, there were a few tense and emotional moments that made my heart ache for them- and again I found myself completely invested in them and the outcome of their story. With the little snippet at the end, I can’t wait to see what comes next!!
Sea Mage was a nice short read. It is my first book from Louisa Bacio and I was unaware going in it was book ten in a series so there were times I was slightly confused, but was still definitely able to keep up as a stand alone story. Louisa did a great job at world building, very descriptive. At times I did struggle to connect to the characters, finding I had to really focus to keep my attention from wandering. Despite this, I would definitely consider reading a book from the start of the series as it was overall enjoyable.

Sea Mage (The Nightshade Guild, Book 10) by Louisa Bacio is the tenth book in the Nightshade Guild series. Honestly this is the first one of the series that I have read not initially realizing it was part of a series, but overall it didn’t affect the story to much. There were a few times that made me wonder if I had missed something but once I realized it was a series put together by multiple authors, I loved the story so much I went back and read the others. Filled with mermaids, magic, shifters, a special quest and so much more this book was simply amazing. I was immediately drawn to this book by its beautiful cover the story that unfolded in its pages did not disappoint.

I loved this book more than I can dare to say! I found it full of moving moments as well as a lot of emotions for myself surrounding the characters I read about! I loved the aspects of the ghosts that were added into the story, and they really added nicely, and the writing really made this book an very easy flow to read.
I was sucked in and entwined completely with this novel, it was so good. I loved how the two main characters could see ghosts and basically were gifted that they had to help them on their way, but is being let go really what all ghosts seem to want? Or sometimes does unfinished business mean something more than a human brain would think to consider?
Zelda and Scott could both see the ghosts and they I found sometimes viewed it as more of a burden, as it took time away from things they enjoyed such as each other and family time. The ghosts put a strain on what they have between them for sure, but with the ghosts needs and their past history of what they bring to the table, it makes things for Zelda and Scott more worst than off than they first appeared to me at first glance. All in all, I was truly captivated by this novel and was rooting for Zelda and Scott, they were beloved characters who deserved a happy story for sure. I loved the ghosts though, it made the story complicated for the characters sure at times, but I found their back stories had much appeal to read!
The story itself was moving and an easy flow to read, and it was one you really had to put your heart in to really feel what Zelda, Scott, as well as our ghost friends were feeling. It was beautiful and I am so glad I discovered this amazing author. Will be reading more of their work for sure, high recommendation!
This is the fifth book in the series and probably my new favorite. It was a quick and easy read. I liked Mia and Edward as a couple. Edwards’ power of intuition was pretty cool. Overall a good addition to the series. It’s definitely worth it to read the books in order.

Kingom of Embers is a YA paranormal mystery romance. Alena is a forbidden creation, half witch and half vampire. When she starts her senior year at a new school she discovers that her imaginary friend from childhood is actually real. The two come together to try to figure out how this is possible and why it happened. Along the way secrets that Alena’s mother hid from her are discovered, a destiny is unfolded and a dangerous threat that could start a war is exposed.
I do not usually enjoy YA books anymore. I just find it hard to relate to them. However, I took the chance anyway and I am glad that I did. Even though there is high school drama that is created by other students Alena is very mature for her age and I feel like that balanced it out. I loved the mystery behind the book. Like who her father is, why Alena and Chase were “imaginary friends” and what her mother has been searching for.
I did feel like the plot was rushed a bit. There were points where it lagged in build up to the that to me didn’t seem to happen until the last chapter. This book ends on a huge cliffhhanger that gave me the chills! I’m excited to start book two and really get things started.

This was such an entertaining book. The characters are well-written and so fun. From a toddler who can make an herb garden sprout and have WICKED temper tantrums to a sexy sea dragon and pink mermaid, this book has such fun and fantastical characters that you can’t help but love the book. Everyone has their part and their role to play. I love the zombie pirates. The plot was easy to follow. Entertaining for young and older adults. Highly recommend

I liked the idea of the story which led me to pick up the book. I struggled at times which led me to “fall” out of the story. I liked Serena and found her plight captivating. The issue came once she started being attacked by others. It seemed too far-fetched and a mix of two different types of beings. I have not read the others in this series and probably won’t as I didn’t really connect or come to “care” about the characters. Great Cover though!

Enjoyable quick read I enjoyed the story line and the paranormal aspects of this book. This is the first book I have read by this author and even though it is the tenth book in the series there is enough explanation to know what’s going on. The use of imagery is well done but sometimes I found the conversations between characters a little stilted. Overall, a series worth checking out.

So happy to finally read about Edward and also check in on how all the other family members are doing! He is the quiet, brooding brother who doesn’t have magic like the rest of the family. He can be a bit cocky and often sticks his foot in his mouth. He seems to be good in business and we do find out that he has magic powers just like the rest of the family. Edward still struggles with the loss of his father and keeps his distance from the family. I was happy to get to know Mia since we saw just a little of her in Cursed Touch (book 4). I love her earthly magic and can just picture all of the beautiful flowers described throughout the pages. This was another steamy love story and I hope this isn’t the last book to be written about the Broderick Coven.

I enjoyed this book! Also, I did know that I was picking it up in the middle of the series. So while I did not have a lot of the backstory going into the book, I didn’t feel like I was missing something in the over arching plot.
Serena is a mermaid shifter charged with keeping the orphaned, elven princess safe from the evil entities that are trying to take her. She and Peder are drawn to each other but each have other commitments that have to come first before they can truly explore what is going on between them. Can they work together to keep the toddler safe and find a balance for each other? Or will it all become too much for them?
I haven’t seen a lot of mermaid books and that is what drew me to this book. The author did a phenomenal job describing all the characters and places they were at. I could literally see them. In fact, every time Serena is described I couldn’t help but picture Serena from Gossip Girl! LOL
Now that I have read this book, I will go back and find the others in the series. I am hoping to get through them all by the time the next in this series is released!

We are back at it with our wonderful Broderick Family. This time we are getting the up close look at the brother Edward. We learn about the paranormal pull to Mia. We also find out they’re both incredibly stubborn with wanting to give into this naturally occurring want for each other. Or as Edward called Mia “Pigheaded”. I love this series so much. Such strong family bonds and a wonderful side of the paranormal world that typically isn’t there.

Sea Mage by Louisa Bacio is one of the books in The Nightshade Guild series. There are twelve books by twelve authors that make up this fantasy series. The series is centred around The Nightshade Guild who have been tasked with the responsibility of looking after the Princess by the Elven Court after an assassination attempt. It is a short read but has all the elements to make it interesting, with magic and danger, shifters and elves, suspense and drama.
I hate coming into a series part way through and that’s what I inadvertently did with this book so now I have to go back and start at the beginning. So, coming so late I felt I was missing out and now I know why, this book is way down the line near the end. I was unable to stay in the moment and found myself wandering and found that sometimes less is more. But that is just me and my preference.
Give it a go but make sure you start at the beginning of the series.

Sea Mage is the tenth book in The Nightshade Guild by Louisa Bacio. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Bacio, so I really didn’t know what to expect going in. But the beautiful cover grabbed me and the blurb intrigued me enough that I snapped up a copy and dove right in. I didn’t realise that this is the tenth book in a series- and there were times while reading where I wondered if perhaps I was ‘missing’ something that happened or was explained in previous books- and that has prompted me to want to go back and explore the rest of the series to see how each story contributes to the overall picture/series. The Nightshade Guild series is a collaboration by twelve authors who each contribute/d a story. With twelve books in the series, one book releasing each month (of 2021)- and with 12 Mages tasked with protecting an elvan princess from assassination, it all looks set to be quite a suspenseful adventure. This is a short story- which made for a quick read. It is a paranormal story with fantasy, mermaids, shifters, elves, magic, a quest, high stakes, suspense, danger, drama, and romance. Although the story is quite detailed and descriptive, I found it somewhat wordy in places, and some of the descriptions were a little ambiguous, leaving me a little confused- which then resulted in pulling me out of the story while I tried to figure out what the author was trying to say/do. This frustrated me a lot and left me with lots of questions. I also had trouble connecting with the characters and their story- which was disappointing as this is the type of book I normally devour and love. So, I will going back to reread this story again in a few weeks, just to see if I still feel the same way, or if I was just having an ‘off’ reading experience with this book.

Book 5, the most recent installment in this series, follows yet another Broderick sibling named Edward. Like his siblings, he is a witch who meets his soul mate. Like the other books, it’s an easy-to-read fantasy romance that is absolutely worth the read! With each book in this series, I continue to enjoy each and every story! I look forward to reading more of the Brodericks’ stories, both so I can get a whole new story with new characters, but also so I can see more of the characters who I have come to love. Highly recommend this entire series!

As much as I loved Max in book 3, I actually loved Edward more in AJ Renee’s Cured Luck. Edward since finding out his true lineage has become a recluse in his own right. Making up excuses not to go to family events and such. Magical powers aside, I understand Edward and why he feels alone. I think that’s why he’s my favorite Broderick sibling to date. Edward meets his mate Mia which I’m glad about. He needed someone who could keep him grounded. I love their dynamic throughout. AJ Renee does not disappoint once again. Definitely becoming a favorite author of mine after reading this series. I look forward to looking into more books the author has written to add to my collection.
