Cursed Whispers (Broderick Coven Book 3) by AJ Renee – Review by Beth McKitrick

Cursed Whispers (Broderick Coven, #3)Cursed Whispers by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is the third in this series. This time, we follow Maxwell of the Broderick family, which continues the theme of following one sibling per book. This story might be my favorite so far (which makes sense because I also love animals) and as always, is a continuation of the series that could also be read stand-alone if you really wanted to. I love that this book finally had a werewolf as a love interest instead of only witches. Like the other books, I highly recommend this one for fantasy lovers!

Cursed Touch (Broderick Coven Book 4) by AJ Renee – Review by Beth McKitrick

Cursed Touch (Broderick Coven, #4)Cursed Touch by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the fourth installment in this series and I love this one just as much as the others! As usual, it follows a new sibling from the Broderick family, this time an ER doctor named Carter. Like the other books, it brings a whole new story that follows the themes from the previous ones. And as I have come to expect, it is a thoroughly entertaining fantasy romance novel! I would highly recommend this series for anyone who wants an easy read.

Cursed Touch (Broderick Coven, #4)Cursed Touch by A.J. Renee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Here we go again! Another brother found his mate! In AJ Renee’s Cursed Touch! I will admit I liked Carter’s story, but I preferred book 3 with Max’s story.
Not taking away from the author’s world, as characters progress through a series I start to have more affinity for one over the other.
Vanessa, a jewelry maker, feels like she’s losing her mind. She keeps seeing all kinds of things she can’t explain. Including the first time she saw Carter, and the pull she had to him. After learning about Carter’s family history and that there are other supernatural beings in the world she starts to understand everything she’s seen. While dealing with the fact she’s Carter’s soulmate, she also finds out her life is in danger.
As we navigate each character’s story, I love how AJ Renee has developed each one. Even though that’s caused me to like some characters better than others, there isn’t a main character so far I haven’t liked.
On to book 5!

Cursed Whispers (Broderick Coven, #3)Cursed Whispers by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The more I read, the more I fall in love with the Broderick siblings. We’ve come to Max’s story, Cursed Whispers by AJ Renee. I like this book the best so far!
Continuing into the world the author created, that I love, I will always want more.
Max, whose gift is talking to animals, comes across a severely injured werewolf in the woods behind his family home.
Claudia, severely injured, finally had a chance for her and her daughter to run. Held captive for the last 8 years she’s been beaten, battered and unfortunately raped.
Little do they know that they are each other’s destiny, their soulmates. How they navigate that as a witch and werewolf is unheard of. This is their story.
I can’t wait to find out who book 4 is about!

Cursed Sight (Broderick Coven Book 2) by AJ Renee – Review by Beverly Finnie

Cursed Sight (Broderick Coven, #2)Cursed Sight by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

AJ Renee is at it again with book 2 in the Broderick Coven Series! Cursed Sight is the next story about Ethan and Serena, and I want more. I can’t wait to read book 3 to find out who’s story is next to be told in the Broderick Coven.
Having previously killed Volark, there’s someone new tormenting their lives. I seem to love any paranormal romance I’ve picked up so far. Witches, werewolves, demons Oh My!
Ethan, accepting his role as the Bishop Coven Oracle, starts to have visions, all which show Serena dying. Knowing how Ethan feels for her, he needs to figure out how to alter the future. Serena, realizing Ethan is her soul mate, does everything to keep him at arm’s length, not realizing she’s going to need him.
AJ Renee did a great job writing these two characters as their stories developed. Again I can’t wait to read book 3 and other books by this author.

Cursed Sight (Broderick Coven Book 2) by AJ Renee – Review by Beth McKitrick

Cursed Sight (Broderick Coven, #2)Cursed Sight by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is the second in the series. While it does continue the storyline of the first book, it focuses on different characters who have a story of their own. While the first book focuses on the only woman of the Broderick siblings, this story follows one of her bothers. I like how the author tied it very well into the first story while still giving us something interesting and new. Like the first book, this one is also a romance, and is actually independent enough that you don’t necessarily have to read the first book. While you wouldn’t really be confused if you skipped it, you would definitely be missing some detail. Although I would be shocked if you didn’t want to go back and read it after reading this one, they’re all really good! Overall I would highly recommend this series if you like easy, fun fantasy romance novels.

Cursed Luck (Broderick Coven Book 5) by A.J. Renee – Review by Roxsanne Lesieur.

Cursed Luck (Broderick Coven, #5)Cursed Luck by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Edward Broderick is a handsome male witch with intuition to match which he uses to help others in their business ventures, although, it doesn’t quite work as well when it comes to his own life, as he has watched his brothers and sister find their soulmates, he has always felt like he isn’t as strongly bonded as the others. He has felt like an outsider since he was a child and was extremely reluctant to let anyone close after seeing how it almost broke his family apart, but as he watches one of his brothers get married, one of the other guests completely throws him for a loop. Mia Hemlock is a witch who is friends with the Broderick family through their coven and for the first time ever, she has been invited to participate in a ritual with them, she is apprehensive, but she feels more welcomed than at any other time, apart from when she is with her parents, but what she didn’t expect was to run into the handsome man who seems both shy and awkward all at the same time.

As Edward and his newest sister in law talk on the patio at their house, he realises how much he has missed interacting with them all and it is at that point that they reveal that they feel the same way and that from then on it will change and he hasn’t got a choice in the matter. A few days later, Edward is talking to his sister when she suggests that they go and visit Mia’s shop to see if there are any ways he can help it to bloom, but all sense goes out of the window as soon as he walks in and sees her again. Mia is surprised when Edward turns up without his sister, however, her reactions towards him leave her confused and flustered all at the same time and no amount of grounding through the earth can change it. The conversations starts out well, but Edward reverts to a tongue tied teenager and messes up leading Mia to kick him out of her shop in a flurry of angry words, however, they cannot stay mad at each other for long and so when he goes to apologise, she accepts and they realise that they can’t resist the pull they feel.

This peace does not last long when Mia sees something she misinterprets and Edward isn’t given the chance to explain, but will they be able to reconnect and move past this event, or will they go against the wishes of the goddess and the pairing she has chosen? This is a paranormal romance which is full of sweetness and light while being tempered with awkwardness and a hint of arrogance, as you are swept away on the journey to see what the ending will be.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a wonderful fast paced story filled with action, adventure and magic. The author does an amazing job of bringing the characters to life and even making their magical sides seem believable. This book contains supernatural dangers and a little bit of romance which brings the whole story together.

Serena is part of The Nightshade Guild. She knows she has responsibilities, but when that responsible becomes looking after and protecting the Elvin Queen she may have bitten off more than she can chew.

With dark forces wanting to take the little queen away she enlists her friend Peder for his help and support but will the budding relationship between them prove more of a distraction than a help.
Is Serena capable of protecting the little queen from the dark forces wanting her power? I mean how hard can it be to protect a toddler?

This is a new author for me which I enjoyed and can’t wait to see what is next for her. This is a well written story that pulled me into the story from the beginning. The author’s use of details made me want to know what happened next with the characters. The characters are relatable and made the story fun and entertaining to read. This is a story that took me on a magical adventure with a twist of suspense to it. I found this book to be full of action, magic and even some romance. Serena feels that she is over her head when she is entrusted to keeping the child queen safe. She also finds herself requesting her friend, Peder’s help. They are now facing evil darkness and a determination to conquer the enemies. This is a great story with a great, engaging adventure that was worth the pick up. I can’t wait to see what comes next for them. I highly recommend this book.

I really enjoyed the continuing story of the Broderick Coven. All the brothers and sisters have such unique personalities, the author does a great job of portraying throughout all the books. This is the story of Mia and Edward. Mia grew up as a hippie/ flower child with an affinity for earth magic while Edward was a total loner after his dad died. He even pulled away from his growing family of siblings and their mates. Edward has the talent of helping others succeed. Mia and Edward could not be more opposite but when love is in the air, who knows what is going to happen to this dynamic couple. I’m not going to give the ending away but book 6 will be on the horizon. I’m excited to see what happens next.

Sea Mage (The Nightshade Guild, Book 10)Sea Mage by Louisa Bacio

I was able to jump right into this book as well as the world to which the character resides. I found it to be a fun read and realistic, and an adventure for anyone truly. I loved the details of the surroundings and defiantly enjoyed the character growth! I feel it was a great read, and its something you will for sure enjoy!

Personally a world set with mermaids and mythical creatures how the heck could I not love this book and dive right into it? I found the story and full of development from all ends. Serena reminded me of what my teenage self was. Believing I could do anything really, and I was independent, which I was. I realized though as Serena did in certain occurrences it can be frightening or more unwelcoming and sometimes you may need help more than you realize. And to me that can be one of the hardest things to do for sure! I really admired Serena, she had a important task to protect in truth, but danger and not planned occurrences take place, she had to step forth and be strong willed. She was very realistic which I admired!

Peter was also an interesting character, the one Serena had to call upon. I enjoyed learning of his nature and how hos character certainly impacted and added the story and plot. I found this a fun read, a intriguing adventure of its own, and a good story line. In our hearts no matter what we face, if we are true and truly believe in who we are what we are meant to be, anything is possible! Wonderful felt read!

As I said, really enjoyed this amazing novel by a talented author! I think a lot of people would benefit from such a wonderful story, and the happy little feels you get in your heart as you read it, really add to the wonderful feeling and positive moments as you read though! It was very well written and I enjoyed it truly from the introduction of the characters and plot to the end! It is defiantly a recommended read!

These two are probably my favorite characters of the series so far, they have such great chemistry that could easily be felt throughout the pages. I love how this author has created a truly original world, one with just the right amount of drama, mystery, love, humour and captivating detail.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for their next paranormal read.

Until he meets Mia, his match in more ways than one. Her powerful Earth magic, in fact everything about her confuses Edward.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Book #5 of the Broderick series gives us Edward’s story. He is very much a handsome loner, and he is mated to the beautiful free spirit known as Mia. There is much to learn about Edward and Mia who did not expect mates or when they found their mate to go thru so much opposition with them. They have the attraction but continue to fight the pull until they can no longer do so. I adored them both and I started to fall in love with Edward as well lol.
Edward and Mia were a very unlikely couple. Both had a lot to understand about the mate bond and the depth of the emotions/feelings the bond would bring. They agree to take things slowly, but its unclear if they will ever accept each other as mates.

Cursed Whispers (Broderick Coven, #3)Cursed Whispers by A.J. Renee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book #3 in the Broderick Coven series and I adored it! This book took me all over the place emotionally. There were many parts I could not stop smiling, and then there were others that I wanted to break down and cry. Max and Claudia’s story was beautiful and bittersweet at the same time.
Max was a witch and Claudia was a werewolf. To be mates was being outside of the same species was a rarity, but a gift all in itself. Claudia was on the run with her daughter from her abusive captor. She was bruised and broken mentally and physically and felt she could never be a mate to anyone. The damage was intensive and she did not believe she would ever successfully move forward until she was brought into the Alumbra Wolf pack. There she found a true family and Max. Max was patient, kind, and was willing to wait an eternity for Claudia if he had to. It was a great story and truly emphasized that when you find your mate nothing and no one will stop fate, and no matter what they have endured that love and time can help heal wounds.
