Third Time’s a Ghost (Haunted Ever After Book 3) by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Kerry Baker

Third Time's a Ghost: A Ghostly Paranormal Romance (Haunted Ever After, #3)Third Time’s a Ghost: A Ghostly Paranormal Romance by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Third Time’s a Ghost: A Ghostly Paranormal Romance by Carrie Pulkinen is the third book in the Haunted Ever After series. This is a highly entertaining, fantastically written series the just keeps getting better and better.
I loved the two main characters in this book. I felt like they had such a strong connection right from the word go. This could be because they started as friends or it could just be that they had that instant connection. You could really feel the chemistry between them.
The story was brilliant as always. It is always so exciting to read one of this authors books because it is not only fun and amusing but it has a depth to it that I don’t think you normally get from books like this. I was drawn into this story and could not put the book down until I had finished it. Another amazing book by this incredible author.

Beckoned: Born of Darkness (Book 1) by R.B. Fields – Review by Roxsanne Lesieur

Beckoned (Born of Darkness, Book 1)Beckoned by R.B. Fields
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dawn Macewan is a nurse by day and a badass human woman who follows the darkness that lives inside her and draws her to the darkness in others and uses it to solve the unsolvable murders and when she does, she goes after the serial killers before incapacitating them and handing them over to the authorities, but that is all about to change when her latest one turns out to be a vampire and a mean one at that. As she walks down the boardwalk late at night and well after the imposed curfew, she is ready to confront the evil where it preys upon the women, suddenly she hears him approaching her from behind, she grasps her mothers knife and prepares for the inevitable attack, but when she sees another man at the other end of the bridge, she is not prepared for the reaction she has to him, the man with the violet eyes staring back at her.

As the reality dawns on her that there are actually two of them, she is determined to at least get in some damage of her own before she is taken down, but when the guy in front of her disappears, she then feels a bolt of pain in the back of her head and as she struggles back to her feet, she knows the guy is behind her, she can hear him breathing, but as she attempts to get to her phone and finish the call to the authorities, he grabs her arm and wrenches her arm out of the socket, but as he shifts his weight to get behind her, she stabs him in the thigh with her knife, but she cannot escape him and the rest of her blows don’t seem to affect him at all and that’s when he starts to strangle her. As she knows she is about to die, the pressure suddenly releases and she hears a tearing sound in the air and she turns to see both men on the boardwalk, the one who tried to kill her is dead and ripped apart on the boards and the other is above him and when he approaches her, his face is covered in blood.

The man approaches her, knowing that he may attack her, but she is drawn to him and it appears that he is feeling the same way as he offers her his hand, she doesn’t trust him, but as he asks her questions, she just barks a laugh at him and as they both realise that she isn’t afraid of him like she should be, even when she lets slip that she knows he is a vampire too, although she says she is surprised seeing as they were working together, he puts that right as soon as she says it disgusted even at the idea. He seems to make a decision there and asks her to go with him and see the others, she agrees to go, liking the idea of safety in numbers, especially when vampires are involved, so getting on his motorcycle, they head back to his group and as she thinks over what she has just seen and how it will affect her future, but the feeling that she is in danger overarches everything else. When they arrive at the vampires home, it is not what she expected, but at the same time she understands the need for it, however as the door opens and a discussion about her ensues, she is not sure what her best option is, to go home and face certain death, or stay here and face possible death.

When Dawn tries to sleep and fails when her nightmares start, she gives up and gets dressed, but realises her knife is missing and goes to find the guy who brought her there, he is the only one who knows about it, however when she goes to confront him, she cannot deny the attraction between them and before she knows it, she is overcome with desire and so is he and they spend the night together, but when the next day, they all set off together somewhere else, she finds that it isn’t just the him she is attracted to and when things start to heat up between her and one of the others in the group, she doesn’t know what to do about it, but that is just the start of the unusual occurrences as they escape from the other vampire group chasing them down, but will she be able to survive them, or will whatever she has gotten in to be ruined before it can even start?

This is an erotic romance with a twist as secrets are revealed and tensions mount leaving you wanting to find out what those secrets are and as this fast paced novel whirls you to the end it keeps you interested all the way through.

The Traveler: Chimera Rising (The Traveler Series, Book of Eleanor Book 3) by Shannon Nemechek – Review by Angela Hayes

The Traveler: Chimera Rising (The Book of Eleanor 3)The Traveler: Chimera Rising by Shannon Nemechek
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Traveler: Chimera Rising is the third book in ‘The Book of Eleanor’ Series by Shannon Nemechek. It follows on where the previous book left off- so I really recommend reading the first two books, before starting on this one- to ensure you will be able to fully appreciate this story.
This is another enthralling time travel fantasy- with magic, danger, spies, mystery, history, drama, suspense, action, romance, and adventure.
I have enjoyed reading this series, and after the events of the previous book I was looking forward to continuing the adventure with this new release. I am happy to say that this is just as bit as good as the first two books, and is now my firm favourite of the three.
Katie and Colm were in for quite an adventure here. Secrets are revealed- while Colm’s loyalties are tested- which side IS he on. With danger at every turn and the fate of the book at stake, they are thrust into the fray, danger nipping at their heels- a true test their mettle, like never before.
As with the previous books- this is another fast-paced, action-packed adventure that’s full of intrigue, excitement, suspense, and dramatic developments.
I was also excited to see that there are quite a few more instalments planned for this series. Looking forward to seeing what Ms. Nemechek has in store for us.
Bring on Book #4!

Thank you, Shannon Nemechek!!

Rebecca Remains by Jessica Aiken-Hall – Review by Angela Hayes

Rebecca RemainsRebecca Remains by Jessica Aiken-Hall
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Rebecca Remains is a gripping, edge of your seat read, by Jessica Aiken-Hall. And as I have come to expect from Ms. Aiken-Hall, this is quite an intriguing, thought-provoking, and very suspenseful crime/mystery- with paranormal elements, drama, danger, secrets, deception, and discovery- all wrapped up in a tightly woven and well-choreographed story. I was hooked from the moment I began, and Ms. Aiken-Hall had me guessing and trying to piece everything together to figure it all out before any big reveal.
We meet Tessa, whom after experiencing much tragedy in her life, had finally come to a point where things seemed to be looking bright again, when strange things begin to happen. Disturbing dreams other unsettling events occur to disrupt her life. Tessa gets to the point where she doesn’t know who to trust, or if anyone in her life is who she thinks they are. Her life is turned upside down and she has to dig to uncover the truth of the situation.
Ms. Aiken-Hall managed to instil palpable tension, suspense, and intensity into the story- giving it a real sense of impending danger and doom- which made for really great reading.
Looking forward to more from Ms, Aiken-Hall.
Happy reading!

Thank you, Jessica Aiken-Hall!

Second Chance Spirit (Haunted Ever After Book 2) by Carrie Pulkinen
4 Stars

Trent is a high powered lawyer who inherits a house from his uncle. He was quite surprised because he was never close to him and his uncle was kind of crazy. After visiting the place, he decided to put it up for sale. It looked and felt like a real haunted house. Wanting a quick sale, he called the best real estate agent in town. Tina was a little surprised that Trent called her. She hadn’t spoken to him since she dumped him. She left him hanging not because she didn’t like him but because she liked him too much. Putting her feelings aside, she decided to remain professional. Inexplicably they both feel a connection to the house but there is something evil that lurks within. Can they both survive to have their happily ever after?

This is the second book in the series. It is Trent and Tina’s story whom we met in the first book. Although this is part two, it can be read as a stand-alone. The book is full of love and danger. The story is well written and the characters bring it to life. This is a fun and enjoyable read. I’m looking forward to part three.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Traveler: Chimera Rising by Shannon Nemechek is the third book in the Book of Eleanor series. For me this is definitely a series that needs to be read in order so you can fully understand what is happening. This book picks up right from where the previous book ends meaning we are straight back into the story. It is a pretty fast paced book with plenty going on so it will be sure to keep you interested. Having read the previous books it really feels like you know the characters by this point. It feels like you are on the journey with them. The author has put in such detail that you can imagine it all so easily.
This book has got to be my favourite out of the series so far and is a great addition. I am looking forward to seeing what else might be next.

Four Stars
The third book in the Life is Hell series and in my humble opinion so far the very best of them. And that is saying a lot as I LOVED book one. I have not ever really cared for paranormal genres but this series does not disappoint at all.
Oren and Teivel are awesome characters and they will quickly capture your desire to keep learning more and turning pages. This book can be read as a stand alone just like all the books but you should start from book one as each book builds on the others as well.

Vengeance (The Sundown Series Book 5) by Courtney Konstantin – Review by Jonell Collins

VengeanceVengeance by Courtney Konstantin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Vengeance (The Sundown Series Book 5) by Courtney Konstantin is not just another zombie apocalypse tale. Yes, there are zombies. Yes, there has been apocalyptic events. The difference is its not just a continual onslaught of zombies in one scene after another. These are people living real lives amidst great adversity. It’s the every day dealing with people that are all different in their own unique ways, but all the same. You know, like life. Although this is a part of a series this story stands on its own. I love how Max finds out that even though you have the right idea and feel the need to follow through, its not always the best thing at the time. Its hard to know the difference sometimes. I am looking forward to reading the next one.

Another hit by Naomi Valkyrie.  I really enjoy this series.  I love reading books that shows even demons can have a heart.  The story of Oren and Teivel was a fun read.  Their journey to finding love was special.  I think the two of them fit together nicely and I enjoyed going on their journey to finding each other.  This is an excellent series.  I look forward to reading more from Naomi Valkyrie.

Hell In A Handbasket (Life is Hell #3)Hell In A Handbasket by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I give Hell In A Handbasket (Life Is Hell Book 3) by Naomi Valkyrie, 5 stars.

If you have not read this series yet, you need to pick it up! The story continues in book 3 and this one is just as good as the rest. All of the characters are unique and interesting, but this time the focus is on two previously secondary characters, Oren and Teivel. The dynamic between these two characters is great. Oren really struggles to find who he really is while at the same time he’s both frustrated and attracted to Teivel. Teivel has essentially closed himself off feelings-wise. This has been hinted to in previous books, but now we find out why. The author does a wonderful job on his back story — I really understand him so much better now.

But this not just about the two of them — there is the tracking job Teivel is sent on, which turns out to be much more complex than he ever imagined. Then there is the baby dropped on their doorstep. In other words, there is so much going on in this book and the author weaves everything together seamlessly, making for such an intriguing take.

If you are a fan of paranormal romance/urban fantasy with strong characters and a little on the darker side, this book and series are for you.

I have been falling in love with Shannon Nemechek’s Traveler Series from the very beginning, and this exciting third installment is just as much loved and enjoyed. I would highly recommend that you read these books in order to fully understand where you are and how things have gone in each book. We find ourselves right where we left off with the second book so another reason to read in order. I love the adventure and the world building that Nemechek gives us with each of her novels. I felt as if I was right there along with the characters enjoying every moment. This is one you do not want to miss if you find your love time traveling and historical reads. I cannot wait to get a chance to read the next installment!

Second Chance Spirit (Haunted Ever After Book 2) by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Lisa Helmick

Second Chance Spirit: A Ghostly Paranormal Romance (Haunted Ever After #2)Second Chance Spirit: A Ghostly Paranormal Romance by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This takes a bit of a scarier tactic on the ghost side. There were times I thought there might be black shadows in my corner and it creeped me out. This also has romance which is hot and steamy between a couple characters we met in book 1. I met and liked them. Tina is smart and sassy. She owns her sexuality and doesn’t apologize for it. Trent is a cool as a cucumber womanizer. He works had and loves to play. He does have a few secrets that show up in here. The story flows nicely but it has the edgier feel to it. Like I stated before it takes a little turn and is mostly a haunted ghostly story with a side of romance.

Hell In A Handbasket (Life is Hell #3)Hell In A Handbasket by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 3rd book in the Life is Hell Book 3 and I loved it just as much as the first 2. This has got to be one of my favourite authors. The characters are great and so well written that you can’t help but cheer their wins and cry at their defeats.

This story follows Oren  and Teivel.

Oren is a demon hunter but with no training he doesn’t know how to used his skills. He is frustrated and confused and madly in love with Teivel.

Teivel is a demon, he has a checkered past and isn’t on for relationships and settling down however that changes as he realises his feelings for Oren are growing and changing.

Add to this story a baby left on the door with magic powers, someone trying to capture magical beings and our gang of friends trying to bring them down and protect everyone they love and it is a gripping story from start to end.

The gang is back but this time Oren and Teviel are the main characters and they are attractive to each other but there is one problem Oren is a Demon hunter where as Teviel is a Demon can they over come this obstacle and have a happily ever after or will they stay away from each other to stay safe.

Beckoned (Book One of the Born In Darkness series) by R.B. Fields was a really good read! If you enjoy steamy stories with an actual storyline, this book is for! Reading this synopsis, I thought this book was going to be a little funnier than what it was. It wasn’t really funny to me, but it was entertaining, steamy and suspenseful with some graphic violence involved. This definitely not a book for people under the age of 18. The storyline was interesting, and the ending definitely leaves you wanting more. I can’t wait to read the next installment of this series!

Then there’s Tina one of the best realtors in Michigan. When Trent learns there is more to the house than it seems he knows he needs to get rid of it before it really kills him. What made him call Tina? Their history is sad and I bet he feels that he would rather give Tina his heart than some crazy ghost. I don’t want to put all the blame on Tina but she was a coward. The point of relationships is to look at would you could build together. Why get into a relationship if you’re not looking for forever? I enjoy this authors work. Second Chance Spirit: A Ghostly Paranormal Romance is the second book in the Haunted Ever After Series by Carrie Pulkinen. If you haven’t read the first book in the series I would definitely recommend you start there, as this is where we first meet these characters.

Tina and Trent already have a history and a whole lot of chemistry! Tina ended their relationship when things started to get too serious, so she’s a little surprised when Trent requests her help in selling a house. But, as is the way with these things, things don’t run smoothly and they are soon caught up in more than just their feelings for each other.

I am already a fan of Carrie Pulkinen, she manages to make her stories engaging, action-packed, sexy, and a little spooky. This book is easy to read and has the fun and humour running through it that I have come to love from this author.

Konstantin is one fantastic author. I love the Sundown Series. Konstantin has continued to bring us amazing stories, and this book is no different. This post-apocalyptic story is a great addition to this series but can be read alone. However, as a lover of books, I recommend reading any series in book order. Max is a strong woman who suffers a seriously tragic accident that changes her world. It is hard to describe what goes on in the book without giving too much away but know that this story is both suspenseful and highly emotional. I rarely cry in a book, but this one had me holding back some sobs.
I recommend this book for YA, dystopian fantasy, mystery, and thriller. I highly recommended. 4 out of 5 stars.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the third book in the ‘Life is Hell’ series and I couldn’t be more ecstatic to be reading more of Naomi’s fabulous writing! Since falling into this series it has really been a wild ride.
The series started with Delilah moving into a small town and falling into the hearts of Malakhi and Caspian then goes into depth about Sheridan and Millicent’s sweet tale and then enters Teivel and Oren. I really enjoyed the first book ‘No rest for the wicked’ and the second book ‘Hell hath No fury’ stole my heart but this book…well it grabbed me by the front of the shirt and wouldn’t let me go.
I found Oren so easy to love, much like Millicent. He’s gentle, sweet, caring and I love reading his internal thoughts about being attracted to Teiven. Teiven is a demon and is easy to hate but still wanting more from him. Meshing these two fire crackers together… I never knew how badly I needed their chaos in my life.
I found this series to be so entertaining and I can’t praise it enough. The characters are a work of art, the writing is divine and I want more!

I couldn’t be more grateful that I fell into this series. I took a chance on a demon story, thinking that was all that it is. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I’ll be honest when I say the first book ‘No rest for the wicked’ caught my eye but this book stole my heart.
I fell in love with Millicent, the deputy and adorable human, from the first book. She’s easy to like and I knew there would be growth to her. Another character that comes back in and makes a grand appearance is Sheridan, Delilah’s eccentric friend. The story explores these opposites lusting after each other and having no idea what to do about it either.
I love the LGBTQ+ representation from book one and book two. I’m also falling in love with Naomi Valkyrie’s story telling. For I adore how she writes high tension between characters and leaves you waiting for what will come next.

Hell in a Handbasket by Naomi Valkyrie
Five Stars

Hell in a Handbasket is the third book in the Life Is Hell series by Naomi Valkyrie. Although you don’t have to read the first two books in this series, I highly recommend you do. The characters are amazing and Naomi’s writing just keeps getting better and better. This book was my favorite of hers so far. Her attention to details is intricate. This book grabbed me and I couldn’t put it down until I read the last page. I highly recommend this book, series and author.
