King & Hunt: A Lust/Hate Story by Brienne Dubh is my first book by this author. It was a great story to get to know Brienne Dubh. This was a short hot, steamy, lust/hate story. The characters have great chemistry together. Brienne Dubh does an amazing bringing this story alive. I have always heard that there is a fine line between love/hate, but I did see a line between lust/hate for sure. Christian and Gabrella had that relationship. There was always a love/hate relationship until one day. Christian and Gabrella let their guard down and bam that is when the steamy part of the story began. There are so many questions but the main one I think is important is Will Christian and Gabrella go back to their love/hate relationship? I recommend you read this story to find this out.

Mountains Loved by Phoebe Alexander was great! It was the perfect end to this trilogy series. Like the other two, this book grabbed in from the beginning and wouldn’t let go. I couldn’t tell if this novel was more emotional than the second in the series, but all the emotions are definitely in this one! It had me laughing and crying just like the second one did. And again, I highly recommend this third book in the Mountains Series!

A paranormal romance featuring wolf shifters based in Scotland, Lisa: Coming Of Age had plenty of action and suspense which kept me hooked from start to finish. This is the first in a new series, ‘The Guardian Shifters’ by KM Lowe and it has wet my appetite for the rest of the series. Seventeen year old Lisa was abandoned on the steps of a hospital and has no information about her past at all. Having found a loving and stable adoptive family Lisa is content, until her world is turned upside down when her biological families secrets are discovered, and she has to accept who she really is. Turning to best friend and soul mate Marcus, Lisa ends up being part of the biggest fight of her life. The author has written some great characters, Lisa, her parents, Marcus and Jasper are all likeable, realistic and each have their own part to play in the story. I like how the relationship between different characters change and develop, especially as Lisa learns who she is and starts to accept it. The chemistry between Lisa and Markus showed and I like how he was her constant throughout the story. There are enough twists and turns in the plot to not be a predictable read and I cared about Lisa’s fate as I felt immersed in the story. I was taken on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading this book. I thought it was an enjoyable first book of a new paranormal series and I’m looking forward to reading Jasper’s story in book two soon.

This was such a great unique read. I love finding new authors and this was a great book. I really liked the fact that it was a short read and that I was glued to the pages. The author has created quite a refreshing world and I love it from start to finish.
The absolutely explosive chemistry between Ida and Dragomir is quite the draw. I like how he is able to be helped if only in a slight way by Ida. I really could not wait to see how this story would progresses. I find the whole concept quite fascinating. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

The conclusion of James’ and Sarah’s story is not without its ups and downs. The third book of their story picks up a little in the future from where the second one left off. James and Sarah are now married. Like previous books, it switches back and forth between Sarah’s POV and James’ POV. This sometimes gets a little confusing because there is no indication at the beginning of the new chapter as to who’s POV it is. Sarah and James set out to build their family, as they talked about in previous books. This sets into motion a series of events that are full of love, heartbreak, tears, and happiness. I do not want to give anything away, as it should be experienced by the reader, but there is plenty of emotion. Like in other books, their poly relationship is explored and it adds to the drama of the story. I have enjoyed each book in the series, and this was no exception. It was well written and feels like real-life. I felt myself drawn into their story and pulling for both of them to have their happy ever after. Some of the supporting characters played a bigger role this time…setting them up for future books (which I will definitely be checking out!).

This is a young adult paranormal romance where the main character has no idea she is anything other than human. I have to admit that I have read this type of story before. That being said, this is a wonderful addition to that genre. The characters are real and believable. I enjoyed every last one of them and cannot wait to see more of them in future books. The story itself is good too. It is fun and exciting — it pulls you into the story and you cannot wait to see what happens next.
The backbone of this story really are the well-done characters and if you are a fan of paranormal romance and/or urban fantasy, I highly recommend this book.

4 Stars Nice short read, although I think this could have been longer and made into a novel, I see this story could have really taken off but I am pleased with what I got. I was sad for Dragomir having to deal with his PTSD and curse and all the rage he had built up inside. Meeting Ida I think saves his life. She is a feisty one, I like her style. She helps Dragomir with all his anger and by having him be submissive, and to his surprise it works. Again, sadly it is a shorter story, but definitely worth the read, I would recommend giving this book a try.

Lisa: Coming Of Age (Book 1 of The Guardian Shifters) by KM Lowe was a fun and quick read. I finished this book in one setting. I loved the main characters in this book. Lisa, Marcus, Jasper, and even several characters introduced later in the story. They were realistic and fun. I loved Jasper role as a father figure. It was also nice to see Marcus and Lisa go from friends to lovers. Lisa really went through a lot quickly upon finding out about who her true nature. I loved the support she had and the friends she made as she started her new journey. This was a great read!

This is another wonderful story. The story flows very well and the characters are intriguing. These two characters have met previously under dire circumstances. They have been looking for each other in the past two years. They are thrown together in a rehab program. Although all is not what it seems. I love the connection these two have. It’s easy to feel it coming off the pages. I enjoy seeing some of the characters we have met in past stories. This is a nice easy to read filled with danger, intrigue and love.
OMGosh! This book! These characters! So sexy! I absolutely LOVE the connection these characters have! I can’t get enough. The emotions are just flying off the pages! I literally stayed up late finishing this book! It’s full of drama, tension, love and a secret. This is going on my list of favorite reads to be re-read over and over.
Sadie, Archer and Sam. They have that bond of trust between them. Sister, brother and best friend. It’s a thin line to walk when two of them start to blur that line. I really loved the new couple then started to dislike the remaining one. We all want to protect the ones we love…but how far will they go?
This is a first time author for me! I loved her writing style. It drew me into the story and characters effortlessly. I look forward to more from her. Hopefully Sam’s story.

This was a true lust/ hate story, the chemistry between Chriatian and Gabby was crazy from the moment we met them. They hated each other with a strong passion and only played nice as a favor to his sister Amy who also happens to be her best friend. Neither of them realized this was the beginning of a new phase.
I couldn’t believe how quick of a read this book was. I think there could have been a little more to their story, not sure if I would have liked to see it more in the middle of the end.
I plan to keep an eye out for additional books by this author since she is new to me and liked this story.

I loved reading the story Lisa: Coming Of Age (Book 1 of The Guardian Shifters) by KM Lowe. I absolutely love shifter stories and this one is a wonderful example of why. It is a book that pulls you in from the very beginning and doesn’t let you go until the final page. I loved reading about Lisa and Marcus. Lisa is a young woman who has questions about her past. She loves her adoptive parents however also wants to know about her biological family. Then secrets are revealed, and her world begins to change. Marcus is Lisa’s best friend. They have always had a strong connection. He is the one that she turns to when the world seems to turn upside down. What does the future hold for Lisa? Is Marcus part of that future, not just as a friend but something more? Read this book to find out. I grew to care about what happened to Lisa and Marcus with each chapter that I read. Lisa is a young woman who has had a lot thrown at her and I liked that she wants to understand how her world will be changing. Marcus is a young man who is in love with Lisa. He would do anything to keep her near and safe. There are other characters introduced that I enjoyed reading about and many of them are helpful to Lisa and Marcus. This is a story that is about family and love. The author has done an amazing job in making me feel I was right there with the characters. This is a book I would highly recommend reading.

This series is an absolute MUST READ..Jane Suen is a master storyteller who quickly became one of my favorite authors. I think I’ve read every single book she has out and will add to that as she does.
Flowers in December Book 1 – I was able to feel every single feeling that Connor was feeling in this book. I lost my Mom just a few years ago and it changed my life. This story was as real as it gets, there was no added drama and major twists and turns, I did kind of feel like I knew what was going to happen but it was more like it was what I was hoping would happen, and I’ve let my imagination take over the rest.
Coming Home Book 2 – I loved Flowers in December and at the end knew I needed more because something was happening and being implied and then it was done and my imagination took it from there. Many Thanks to Jane Suen for seeing this, and knowing that her readers needed more and then delivering.
So much was going on in this very short story but you never feel like anything was crammed in or get confused…She touched on many emotions and feelings and I’m just not going to give anything away so you will have to pick this story up, but please don’t start here, you must read Flowers in December first, this is where you will really get to know Connor Norton, and Tom.
Second Chance Book 3 – Many many thank yous to this author for giving us this book. I loved the first 2 but was a bit sad with the end of the 2nd. I had no idea this one was coming and I was so happy when I saw it. This had to be one of the best book 3’s of a trilogy yet, I’m thinking because I wanted it so much!
I was a bit concerned with going back in time here and there through memories but found that it gave me a better understanding of who Mary Ann was. I loved the small town and this whole story felt so real, along with all the other feels you get from reading this last book in what is a wonderful series. I can’t wait to read it again back to back now that I have all three. 🙂
The one thing you dont do when you read any of this authors books is go in thinking you know how everything is going to go because she will show you the meaning of what a twist and a turn means and have you sitting there at the end going ..What just happened? She shows you that a twist doesn’t have to be explosive or a throw your kindle moment, she does it in a slow crawl where you have no idea it’s even happening. LOVED THIS SERIES!!!

My jaw is on the floor. Omg I can’t believe what I just read. Its unimaginable but so real. To think that someone finally got the courage to say me too for men. It’s so sad that men do get the same benefit of belief that women do when they cry out for help. This story was too real. I felt like the author did an amazing job writing this story. It wasn’t too much and had the right amount of background. It would be nice to know what Julie was truly thinking and feeling. I am truly at a loss for words though. The trauma Brady experienced at the hands of his own mother. The one person meant to love him unconditionally. I cried because its unimaginable to me as a mother to do these things to my child. To physically harm them to the point that they could possibly die. Its unfathomable. I know they author heart broke with every word of this story. I see this as an eye opener for me. That we can’t take everything at face value. If the father hadn’t reacted the way he did. The outcome of this story wouldn’t be the one needed.

King & Hunt: A Lust/Hate Story is the first book I have read by Brienne Dubh. This is a really fantastic, sexy, fun read. The characters are believable and the dialogue is witty and fun. Brutal & Raw was a great very dark 5 star read and book one in the Beneventi Family. All I can say is this title was perfect for this story, it was brutal and raw and I loved it! I was pulled in right from the beginning.
She was known as 327, they never called them by their names because they didn’t want to humanize them. But there was something about 327 that drew Breaker in, he spent time with her specifically and told her things about the family. Knowing that she was getting too close to him and he was feeling things he shouldn’t Breaker had Butcher do his thing, BUT she got away. She wasn’t supposed to get away and now she knows things that could destroy his family.
Now she’s on the run and afraid he will find her, BUT the name he has isn’t really who she is. Trying to find her is bringing up more questions than answers. The longer it takes to find her the bigger the risk. Who is this woman that has captured his attention? Will Breaker find her before she tells anyone about the family secrets and destroys him?
Overall this is a very dark mafia read that could have big triggers for some. There were some scenes that had me cringing and pushing my boundaries to a new level. I loved hating Breaker but there was a little part of me that felt for the man. He is as dangerous as they come and doesn’t hesitate to show who the boss is. 327 has seen something in Breaker as well, something that was good and called to her. The secondary characters were great. There are several shocking twists and turns. If you like dark reads than this is a MUST READ for you, it’s hard to find authors that are willing to really push the boundaries and Sonya Jesus is one of them. I can’t wait to read more from this author and series.

After a car accident forces Cade off a bridge, underwater angel Nadia saves his life. When Nadia disappears after the rescue Cade fears he won’t find her again. Moonlit Mirage is an exciting story that kept me hooked from the very start. The author packs a lot into this short story, and I absolutely loved the characters of Cade and Nadia, they have a strong connection from the very beginning. There are some unexpected twists and turns throughout which make you want to keep on reading. I would love a follow up book to explore the characters more as they both have much more to give. If you are looking for a short story to devour in one sitting , I would definitely recommend this.
I have known that the works of Theresa Sederholt are emotional reads up until now but this book sincerely threw me for the hills of tears. I was probably bawling through this majority of this book, like ugly cry tears. Dane and his son will swallow you up with their tragic story of bearing the brunt of an awful and abusive situation. The twist? His wife is the bad guy. Abuse is a topic that is difficult to read on any level but to see it from a male perspective was just absolutely eye opening. I have seen a friend of mine go through something similar and I just wanted to find him and hug him the moment I finished this novel since I couldn’t reach out to Dane in real life. This book is a taboo topic but it is done perfectly. You can tell that Sederholt really put her blood sweat and tears into this novel. It shows with the way you feel the characters as they do and you find yourself so completely wrapped up in Dane’s world. I can’t find enough good things to say about this novel and I so look forward to seeing what else will come next from the ever talented Theresa Sederholt!

I have not had the pleasure of reading anything by Zarina Macha before but was completely enthralled in the idea behind this story based off the cover and the blurb. I wasn’t disappointed and found a very nice and fast paced read that kept me entertained from the very beginning until the last chapter. I loved how this was written in a way that could be enjoyed by anyone even though it is geared towards young adult readers. It touched on some serious topics with an underlying concept of choosing the path and handling the consequences that come of that decision. Megan and Vincent are both strong and hold their own but the two of them together is not necessarily a good thing. I must say I thought that I had things figured out then they did a completely different direction than what I had guessed. I love books that do that for me. I will definitely be looking into more of Zarina’s novels.
Out of the shadows by Theresa Sederholt is a very moving and emotional story of a loving dad who deals with the horror of domestic violence. The way that the author describes the feelings and emotions of the main character Dane and his son is very respectful and brings light to an issue that is not commonly talked about. Dane became a father at a very young age and now, in his thirties, he is doing all he can to keep his son safe from his alcoholic and violent wife. This is a very emotional story and I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. Very well written.

This book centres around the Beneventi crime family and their leader’s obsession with a girl that escaped him. This is a very dark book and not for the faint hearted, the subject matter is at times really gruesome and graphic and the concept of “the farm” is a bit disturbing. However, it is really well written and hopefully in following books the romance will come out a bit more.
The central story focuses on Breaker Beneventi and his, somewhat distorted, view of love for a girl he refers to as 327, a prisoner who he had developed feelings for (after kidnapping her) and then subsequently released. 327 (or Lyla) has found a safe-haven and is trying to move on with her life however this does not go to plan. I would like to learn more about Lyla’s past and see how this story develops as well as learning more about the other Beneventi siblings.

This was my first experience with this author. I wasn’t sure what to expect. Overall, it was a decent read. I was a bit disappointed that the initial heated friction between the two main characters was over fairly quickly. However, the way the last part of the story played out kind of made up for it. This is definitely set up as more of a short story feel. I finished it fairly quickly. This book would be a great read if you are waiting somewhere and need a distraction. It’s just entertaining enough to keep you from getting bored, but no so deep in story line that you’ll miss something if you have to stop reading. A solid 4 stars.

This was my first time reading anything by Theresa Sederholt, but I would definitely choose more books by this author in the future. The book delves into the sensitive and heartbreaking topic of domestic abuse, and does a fantastic job of highlighting the fact that men are often victims of this too. The book was mostly written from the perspective of husband Dane and son Brady, and to be honest I would have loved even more time to get to know these characters. Though the book is harrowing at times you can always feel the love that Dane has for his son. At the start of the book the author warns of the story containing triggers for victims of domestic violence, so this book isn’t suitable for everyone. Of course this book is difficult to read at times, but the author handles it with extreme care, and throughout the story the message for me is that you are not alone.

These books show the changes and evolution of Connor which take place within the span of two years approximately. It starts with Flowers in December and the death of his mother. Connor is trying to deal with his grief and regret of not visiting more often. It is more about his inner journey and facing his own mortality.
His story continues in Coming Home. It is a story about love and forgiveness. He returns home for his first Christmas without his mother. It’s rough but being with friends and helping his neighbour aids him in healing. It is a Christmas story with deeper meaning.
In Second Chance, we see more of the relationship between Connor and Mary Ann. Each trying to decide what it is that they really want. It is an easy to read romance. This trilogy flows effortlessly into each other. You feel a range of emotions from grief to acceptance, nervousness to euphoria. These are well written books showing the evolution of one man through a meaningful time in his life.

This is one of my favorite series of this year. I absolutely loved all of the stories in this series. This set contains Rewind, Return, Revive, and Rebound. I want to let the readers know that this is a M/M series that takes place in France. Once I started this series I could not stop. I could not get enough of these characters. I devoured these books in only a couple of weeks.
Rewind Enzo’s life changed the day he lost his hearing. He had to start his life all over. Enzo has to fight for everything that he wants and needs. He doesn’t let anyone or anything tear him down except the man that broke his heart long ago. Enzo now has a new life and a man that doesn’t treat him right. He is in complete shock when he runs into Florian. Enzo feels that chemistry from all those years ago. Florian has a great business. He has the best life but things start to crash down around him. Florian is also shocked when he sees Enzo but their history is not good. Deep down Florian feels something for Enzo but is it too late?
Return Ralph has no place to go. He left home when he was a young man and now he is trying to find a place to live. Raphael finds an add for an apartment for rent. He goes to see the apartment and he is shocked that he can afford it. Raphael and his new room mate Adrien are totally different. When they start to get to know each other they find out that they have feelings for one another. Raphael likes Aiden but they both have secrets that could ruin everything. Will Raphael and Adrien find what they are looking for or will they find trouble instead?
Revive Brandon has a lot that is going on in his life. Ever since he got divorced he doesn’t want to get into another relationship. He is a very busy man. Brandon is told to go to a club one night and that’s when he meets the gorgeous Patrick. Patrick is very busy also with his job and also his one night stands. Brandon is very intrigued by the beautiful man. He loses his mind and has a unforgettable night. Brandon’s ex tells him to see a very well known therapist and he is in complete shock when he sees Patrick at the desk. He has never felt this way about anyone before but his past is coming back to haunt him. Will Brandon be able to let his guard down or will he build up more walls?
Rebound Noah loves his life. He is a famous video blogger and he has so many fans. Noah is very happy with his relationship but one day he finds himself being second best. His partner Hugo finds someone else and Noah has nowhere to go. Noah is so upset he calls his dear friend and ex lover Adrien for help. He ends up staying with Adrien and Raphael. Noah knows that Adrien loves Ralph but he also misses his best friend. He meets one of Adrien’s friends and she really likes him but does Noah want to get involved again? Will Noah find his happiness or will he be always second best?

King & Hunt: A Lust / Hate Story by Brienne Dubh is an enjoyable quick read. Christian and Gabby have had a hate/hate relationship since meeting each other at school years previously. Unfortunately for them, Gabby is best friends with Christians twin sister so there is no escape for either of them. Once the pair decide to call a truce for an evening, they discover that they feel more than just loathing between them but is one evening enough? This is a fun, enemies to lover’s romance that manages to tell the story without feeling too rushed. Would really recommend if you are looking for a steamy story with a few laughs on the way. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Moonlit Mirage: A Cook Islands Romance (Moonlit Destination Series) by Amy McKinley is a quick read novella introducing Nadia and Cade. The story starts with Nadia rescuing Cade from drowning after a car accident, but she is not there by coincidence. Five years later their paths cross again by chance and the connections that they felt is rekindled but there are secrets that are bound to come to light. I read this book really quickly as I was really looking forward to finding out more of Nadia’s past. I hope that there is a follow up to this book to learn more about the characters history and how this is going to present challenges to their future. This is the first book I have read by this author but will definitely be looking at her other works.
I loved this book. I was hooked from the very first page and couldn’t put it down. This authors writing is creative and I could feel the emotions with every line. This is a short story and it is about a man named Dane who is hiding a very big secret that is fixing to be spilled for the world to see. I love the character development for him, he was already strong but by the end he was so much stronger and has his head held up high. I am so looking forward to reading more by this author in the future! Happy reading!

FLOWERS IN DECEMBER TRILOGY by Jane Suen contains all three books in the Flowers in December series: Flowers in December (Book #1), Coming Home (Book #2), and Second Chance (Book #3). This is a lovely series-
Flowers in December is the first book in the Flowers in December Trilogy and is a beautiful story. I have read a few of Ms. Suen’s books now and enjoyed them all, but I have to say that this one is definitely my favourite so far. Having lost a parent myself, this story touched a cord with me and I could really relate to Connor and what he was going through. This story may be small when it comes to pages, but doesn’t lack in the content department. Ms. Suen had me hooked quite quickly and held my attention the whole way through. As it is a short story, I finished it in a small amount of time- but because of the way the author infused so much emotional content into the story- it has stayed on my mind even after moving on to other books since finishing it. That is a great sign of a talented author and a wonderful story. The story deals with and explores quite a lot in a short space- loss, grief, mortality, the passage of time, realization/discovery, learning to let go of the past, being hopeful, embracing life, and making meaningful connections. The story was relatable and entirely believable. There were some truly beautiful passages throughout this book that lifted the story from being heavy or depressing- giving it some very touching/heart-warming qualities.
Coming Home is the second book in the Flowers in December Trilogy. We meet back up with Connor, four months after the end of the first book. He has ‘come home’ for the holidays as a way of honouring his mother and his/their memories . This story is a continuation of the first book, with Connor still coming to terms with his mother’s passing, the grieving process, self-realization, forgiveness, finding a way to move forward, mending bridges, hope, love, and emotion- which happens over the course of the story. I loved it even more than the first book. I really recommend reading the first book before starting on this one, as all the backstory and other relevant information is contained in that book. Ms. Suen had me hooked quite quickly and engaged me the whole way through. It is a short story, and I finished it quite quickly- but as with the first book, the author infused so much emotional content into the story- it has stayed on my mind long after finishing it.
Second Chance is the third and final instalment in the Flowers in December Trilogy. It is everything I could have hoped for as the conclusion to Connor’s story. A lot has happened since we met him back in book one. This sweet story is all about second chances- with a very realistic and believable storyline. Ms. Suen definitely saved the best till last, as this is my favourite of the three books, for sure. For such a short story, it definitely leaves an impression.
Looking forward to what ever Ms. Suen decides to do next!
