This was an awesome collection of 3 short stories that I absolutely loved and enjoyed. One of my favorite parts is that they are all based in New Orleans at The Chateau Rouge. Now after reading all 3 of these, all I could think of is I want to go there, I would probably be scared out of my mind half the time but I don’t care, all of the characters in these stories were written and portrayed perfectly. This author has a way of taking very few pages and adding in so much content and not in a way that it feels like it has all been jam packed in there, there are also mini twists and turns throughout, not those kind that are earth shattering or major story changing but those kind that are placed perfectly and you never see them coming.
I have said this before and now I’ll say it again, I could read 100 books all in a row that take place at The Chateau Rouge, and I highly recommend this as it was just plain fun to read and I do see me reading all of these again in the future.

Phoenix Rising is book seven in the Fortis Security Series by Maddie Wade. I like this series with each new instalment, and have to say that Daniel and Megan’s story is the best so far. It was edgy, packed with action and bursting with passion and danger.
Megan and Daniel face a rough road, and the attraction he fights is both entertaining and frustrating. Maddie Wade draws out the intensity expertly and maddeningly. Burning with the relentless urge to know all the mystery surrounding their story, I turned the pages way too quickly. I did not want their story to be over. I could have read about them for days more. A story bursting with heat, sexiness and energy, Phoenix Rising is a must read. 5 stars.
Georgia Pine (Southern Promises #3) by K.G Fletcher is a beautiful romance story and that I really really enjoyed. This is book three in the Southern Promises series but can be read as a standalone. K.G’s stories flow nicely and her words enable you to picture everything that is going on and feel the same emotions as the characters. Georgia Pine is about two broken people coming together to find themselves again and breaking out of the stereotype that people cast them in. They are both trying to relearn their value as a person and within the world and when they do, boy do those sheets heat up with passion and steam. This story will make your heart melt and leave you wanting more. Another job well done K.G.
Special Agent Charli (Undercover FBI Book 6) by Mimi Barbour is a wonderful story that I enjoyed reading. It is a mystery, drama, thriller with a little romance thrown in and just enough to keep you enthralled and wanting to know what comes next. I fell in love with the characters especially Charli’s grandfather who made me laugh and was based on Mimi’s own grandfather. I loved the banter and sarcasm between the characters which also had me laughing. There were equally moments when my heart bled for them as well and I just wanted to scoop them all up and bring them home. The story flowed well and was well paced and definitely engaging. This is one story that is well worth your time to read. I am looking forward to reading more from Ms Mimi.
Degrees of Innocence by Via Mari is the first book in her Prestian series and the beginning of Katarina and Chase’s story! It is the first book I have read by the writer and I promise you, you will find me reading all the other stories in the series as well! I NEED to know how their story develops and ends … Degrees of Innocence is the story of Katarina Meilers and Chase Prestian. Katarina is a professional design consultant and Chase is one of the wealthiest and most powerful men in the world. And how do they meet, you would ask me, and … they meet when Katarina is doing a CPR on a guy who collapsed at the resort they are both at, and Chase comes and takes over when Katarina is at the end of her ‘rope’. What a way to meet! What a start on a journey into the world of opulent wealth and danger and … of sexual exploration … I loved the way the writer told the story, the way she mixed erotica with suspense … she gave us a story that is not just some spicy steamy erotica but that also keeps us asking ‘what the heck is going on???!!!’. I loved how respectfully the writer dealt with the BDSM aspect of the story and how real the budding relationship felt! I cannot wait to tackle the next story in the series and to find out where the journey will take us!

The Last Keeper of the Light, a Dystopian Fantasy by Nikki Broadwell 4 out of 5 stars
Dystopian fantasy books are not my normal go to genres, but this post-apocalyptic story had be drawn in and it would not let me go. Fans of The Hunger Games and the Divergent Series will loves this book from author Nikki Broadwell. While it did take me a bit to get use to the back and forth of the narration between past and present,, once I understood what the authors intent was, I feel easily into the pages. Sandal and Jacob are the two main characters in this story and theirs is both heartwarming and terrifying all at the same time. Sandal is learning that the world around her is a do or die world. The Do is to survive, and survive she must. Survival is not easy. Everyday is a trial, and the people she meets can be described as the devil incarnate. Jacob on the other hand, is her black knight in shining armor. While he isn’t perfect. He is perfectly what she needs. She finds peace, comfort and solace with Jacob. Their relationship grows. By how much, you will have to read the book to find out. This world is highly detailed and vastly built. Ms Broadwell gives you just enough to allow your imagination to build the rest without overwhelming you too much. The story is fast paced, so you are never bored, yet you are not feeling as if you cannot keep up. I highly recommend this book.

Transformations (The Shifter Series) by Cari Schaeffer 4 Stars
This is the first book that I have read from this author and wow, it was good. There are two families that have been at war for centuries; the Barotkoffs who are magical and the Wolffs who are shifters. Katherine is seventeen and her transformation has started. Coming into her powers has not been easy and she is scared to shift. She just wants to be normal. She finally meets a guy who is everything she could ask for and he turns out to be a Barotkoff! Her family will never accept her attraction to one of their mortal enemies. Will their forbidden love be allowed to blossom?
The thing I found really interesting is the explanation the author gave for how they came into their powers. It was different and original. I found that the story was a little slow to start but once it did, it took off. It is a shifter story with a cool twist. Each character had a distinct personality that brought something to the story. It ends in a shocking cliffhanger that has me itching to read the next part in the series.

Just Exes by Charity Ferrell is part of the Blue Beech Series but can absolutely be read as a standalone.
Lauren and Gage haven’t seen each other in years, ever since Lauren broke Gabe’s heart without telling him why. Gage’s life from there has only gotten much more difficult. Once he’s back in Blue Beech, he doesn’t tell anyone what he’s been through. Lauren and Gage’s first encounter was not pleasant but since then it seems like she keeps running into him every time she turns around. Gage has promised to hate Lauren for the rest of his life but now that they spend so much time around each other, will he be able to keep that promise? Secrets come out finally and it’s up to Gage and Lauren to see if they can really give it another shot or not? Will they still be just exes?
I absolutely loved this book. Lauren is quick witted even when she’s hurting. She’s loyal which was so evident when reading the book. Gage couldn’t help his protective instincts toward Lauren which really showed how much he still loved her even when he was saying otherwise. When everything was revealed, I was shocked. I didn’t see those twists coming. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time though. This book has everything!
Degrees of Innocence by Via Mari is the first book in the Prestian Series. This story has romance, suspense, mystery and action. You will not be able to put Degrees of Innocence down, you will want to read and finish it in one sitting. Kate, is a strong and very independent woman. Chase, is a wealthy and very powerful man. What will Kate do with Chase pursuing her? Will she let the chemistry flow!
Via Mari has a way with her words. Her writing style flows with ease and keeps you engaged. Her writing pulls you in from the first word to the last. The characters are well developed, easy to connect with and very real. I cannot wait to see what happens next in the series.

The only thing that stopped me from giving this book 5 stars was the fact that I missed where the main characters fell in love. I wouldn’t know to tell what exactly happens between Charli and Blake. If it was insta -love or if it came gradually. Suddenly they just love each other. And it’s a shame because they are deep characters and I wanted that moment as out there as possible. Charli has such a big heart and so much love to share that only someone like Blake could open her eyes. Blake, who ironically has been a womanizer all his life.
A story about forgiving youself, Charli ‘s case, about second chances, Kayla & Angie, and about believing that not all red heads are the same, right Blake?!?! As for Poppa John? I simply love him, thank you for your wisdom 🙂

The Reader was a really great, fast paced read. This isn’t the first book that I have read by this author in fact I have read quite a few so I knew that I would be in for a great read and again I wasn’t disappointed! The story was full of fantastic plot twists and turns, great characters and a unique storyline that made for a thrilling and exciting read. The authors’ writing was brilliant, the world building particularly good. I was already hooked on the book after reading the blurb but once I started reading I knew it was going to be one of those hard to put down books. The book really did start off strong; whilst there were a few parts that felt a little rushed I still enjoyed it immensely. I liked the main characters and thought that they developed well over the storyline. I would absolutely recommend The Reader to sci-fi, paranormal fans and definitely YA’s. I am looking forward to book 2 in the series.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I think it was well written. The Chateau Rogue is the setting for these stories. A wonderful, old hotel that is supposedly haunted. Three couples that are thrown together by chance. Or is it just chance?
I loved this book. The setting of an old hotel in a town with lots of history itself is just the perfect place for these to take place. Each of the main characters are quite interesting and very real. Not to mention that there are three separate possible romances going on, but it is not like some books, where only the characters change. No, this has three very distinct couples, each with a very different story/circumstance. I could not pick a favorite, I loved them all. I cannot wait to read more with this hotel as the setting and hope this series goes on a long time.
If you like romance set in a historic, haunted setting, this book is for you.

Georgia Pine is the third and I really hope not the last of the Southern Promises series by K.G Fletcher. I loved this book. There was something amazingly sweet and special about Jessica and Tim’s story.
I got tired reading this book and how Jessica kept up with four little girls aged six and younger. I was a single Mom with just one daughter and she wore me out couldn’t imagine having four daughters.
Tim reminded me a little of my husband, he jumped in and was instantly part of the family. It takes a special man to get involved with a single Mom and Tim was just that.
I hope we see more books in this series. I’m not ready to let this group go.

This series by K.G. Fletcher has quickly become one of my addictions! Each book gets better and better and this one is now probably my favorite! This book had all the feels and then some. It’s one of those books that will suck you in from the get-go and won’t let you up until the end (especially when you hit about the 75% mark).
I absolutely loved Jessica and Tim. Their connection was almost instant but it worked for this story. Neither one of them were looking for something series but they couldn’t deny the chemistry they had. Tim was a hero that I think ANYONE will fall in love with and I can identify with Jessica. That’s one thing I love about this author’s books, she creates characters that are realistic and easy to relatable.
The Southern Promises series has easily been my favorite series I have read lately and its one that should be on everyone’s must read!

Georgia Pine is the third instalment in the contemporary romance series, Southern Promises. I had high expectations after reading the first two books in the series, but this was so much better than I ever imagined. After the first two chapters I found I was completely hooked and could not put this book down. As a result, I had a wonderfully lazy Saturday afternoon with Jessica and Tim and am feeling thoroughly satisfied!
This book completely surpassed all of my expectations for it. I was expecting an easy-reading romance story but what I got was so much more. I knew pretty early-on that I was going to like the story, but after my first 45 minutes of reading, I realised this was a story I was going to love. I connected with absolutely everything; the character, the story, the writing. So I settled down with a cup of tea and a blanket and threw myself in for a couple of cosy hours reading.
Jessica and Tim have become one of my favourite couples of 2018. I like they both individually and as a couple, which is not always the case for me; I tend to like one character more than the other! They are both such strong characters, in different ways, and I think this is why I like them so much and formed such a strong connection with them. Jessica hasn’t let her recent relationship woes affect her and instead, has thrown even more into raising her four girls. As far as child characters go, these are the best I’ve seen written in a long time. They were believable and likeable, whereas so often young characters can become annoying and whiny. Reading the scenes where Tim interacted with them were some of my favourite, and made him even more attractive! Tim has his own demons, but he doesn’t let these come between his relationship with Jessica. I love how in control he is but also that he can show his more sensitive and vulnerable side. Together, these two make a pretty formidable pair!
As well as the exciting plot, dangerous ending and brilliant leading characters, Georgia Pine also has some fantastic supporting stars. As I’ve already said, the children in this book are wonderful. Equally as interesting is Jessica’s best friend Elizabeth, who had me laughing out loud with her crazy questions about Jessica’s new relationship with Tim. It was also fun to read about Jessica’s parents, whom I was not a fan of at the start of this read!
If not already clear, I absolutely loved this book. It is my favourite in the series so far and it has me super excited for whatever might come next. I already want to do a re-read of the whole series, but especially Georgia Pine. I know I will be recommending this to friends, so if you haven’t already considered it, I’d encourage you to buy this book now!
O.M.G. this book is everything! Everything good, everything bad and everything in between! And this is book 3!?! Is this a standalone? It sure seemed that way to me. I loved the characters of Tate and Linc. Oh how my heart broke for these characters, especially while Linc was a teen and when Tate needed a friend the most.
Tatum also known as Tate, and Lincoln are so super hot together. They meet under crappy circumstances and become instant soul mates. They both seem to take a chance on each other. And holy smokes is their connection good.
The twist towards the end I never thought would actually happen! This book is not for the faint of heart. Which means triggers for those under certain situations.
This book is an amazing read! If all Myers books are like this then sign me up! A definite one click!

Moments That Define Us is the prelude (Book #0.5) to Gray Ghost Series by Amy McKinley. I have read all of Ms. McKinley’s books and have loved every single one. She is a fantastic writer who is able to weave a captivating story that hook me every time. I have loved the Gray Ghost series and so I was quite intrigued by what this prelude would contain. To say I am blown away would be an understatement! I already loved the characters- but after reading this and seeing where they came from and some of what they have been through, makes me admire and love them even more! The story is quite intense and emotional. There are scenes that made my heart ache- but the main thing I got from this book was a whole lot more respect and admiration for the team, because having been through what they had, it would have been easy for them to give up, or to take the easy road- but they didn’t, and that takes massive strength of character to rise above and fight for what you believe in. The sense of duty, honour, loyalty, camaraderie, and tight-knit team work was apparent right from their early years- and has only gotten stronger as they got older. I love how this book really sets the stage for the rest of the series and gives such an amazing insight into the characters beginnings. This may be a small story (novella), but still manages to pack a punch. Ms. McKinley fits a lot into a small space, making the whole thing seem like a much bigger book- in a great way! I am so looking forward to the next Gray Ghost book!

Special Agent Charli By Mimi Barbour was a great suspenseful 5 Star read for me. Not typically a fan of suspense but this book grabbed by attention from the very beginning. The book was well written and captivated the reader right away.
FBI Agent Carolina Madison just finished a long grueling case undercover and was due for a month long peaceful vacation. She had plans to visit Fort Lauderdale and have her Poppa John come visit for a bit. Her plans changed in the blink of an eye.
A neighbor down the hall witnessed something she shouldn’t have. Alicia is a minor who is currently living in horrific conditions. She was taken in by a couple who doesn’t even care for her. Now that her life is in danger, she needs to be put into witness protection and will only agree of Carolina is the one lookin after her.
The two change their names and looks and escape to another state in search of safety until the perp is captured. Carolina ( Charli ) isnt ready for all that happens when she agrees to keep Alicia ( Kayla ) safe. Everyone lives are threatened while some innocent lives are lost.
Blake Sebastian, Major with the FLPD is letting the two Charli and Kayla stay at his place. Blake is very good looking and he likes to have a good time with female company. He tries to get Charli’s attention but, she doesn’t give in easily. This book had me flipping the pages quickly and couldn’t wait to see what happens with the main characters. Perfect ending to a great book!
Releasing the Demons (The Order of the Senary #1) By L.D. Rose Rated 4 stars
Blazes story was an amazing opener and had me riveted. But then at times the story felt disconcerting. It seemed jumbled and I was confused as the scenes went from one to another without me realizing where the character was or who they were with. Now this is ONLY in the beginning so don’t stop reading!! As the story moved forward I really struggled to put the book down. I became very engaged in the book. I found myself caring about Blaze! Even wishing for Valerie to find her bliss. I was traumatized by Blaze’s confinement. I can still see how much that affected his thoughts and future daily. I’m not sure how Valerie was able to sneak under his defenses but I am glad she was able. Valerie is a cop and she is one tough cookie. She fights vamps and she’s only human! So when Blaze arrives on scene she cannot fathom a “nice” vampire. She really learned a lot in here….and she doesn’t hesitate to use her gun.
The “brothers” of the Senary are quite interesting. They all have sweet traits although I’m sure they don’t think so. They added some spark to the story and I enjoyed each one. When they are all together….they are like a big joking with a side of scary family. I will be looking for each of their stories.
This is a first time author for me. As previously stated it was choppy at the beginning. But once I got going I couldn’t put this down and devoured it to the end. The story was different (a bit) from other paranormals and the characters have depth. I found myself wanting to know more and more about each one. I am eagerly looking forward to the next in the series.

This story is filled to the brim of tragedy, despair, cruelty, and loneliness, but also with hope, love, kindness, and survival. This story follows Sandal after the electricity grid goes down and through the years. Sandal is actually older when the book begins, but we live the past through her memories. I found a lot of this book incredibly sad, but there was always hope and a will to survive that made it worth the read.

Ummmm, I am rating this as five stars and would rate it a negative 10 for how scared this book makes me feel about our future. IT IS THAT REALISTIC AT THE HEART OF IT ALL.
I read this book today, September 29, 2018 after a very trying week for our country and the divide that is opening further along party lines and humanity. This is one of the best dystopian books I’ve read. It reminded me a lot of a Stephen King novel called “The Stand”.
This story is told from the protagonist’s point of view in both past and present tense. It’s a story that held my attention from beginning to end and I will admit that I skipped ahead a few times because I couldn’t stand the suspense.
The writing is very visual and I was able to read it as if I was watching a movie. I could go on and on and compare and contrast the state of the world today with the state of the world in this story. I could also go on and on about how the author has interwoven so many different elements, but I just don’t want to take away th journey for someone else.
I absolutely recommend this book to friends and family alike.

Every Breath You Take by A.M. Myers is the third story in the Bayou Devil’s MC series. I have read both books that come before this and loved them both, however this story is my favorite of the 3. Tatem was taught at a very young age how to be aware of the dangers and evils of the world, and how to defend herself against them. She is headstrong and independent. When her mother passes away, Tate is plaqued with more questions than answers, and lands herself in the middle of unknown danger. Lincoln, who is a member of Devil’s Bayou MC, and is devoted to the people he calls family is given the very important job of “watching” Tate, while keeping Tate unaware. That job is harder than he anticipates and it makes for a very thrilling read ! This story has action, suspense, humor, and romance all perfectly interwoven to make an awesome 5 star read!

Wow! I really loved this story! Just Wow! The story…the characters….amazing. The emotions brought forth by this fantastic writing. I am still reeling and I am done reading this book!
The writing in this book and series is so good! Actually the story behind the writing. The heartfelt words and descriptions (characters and things) are brought to life in my imagination because of this authors words. I can picture each of them (characters) and as I read along i am more entranced by them every second. The girls and especially Tim. There was a definite beauty and the beast theme. Just the right touch. It is a cute add to the story. I love all the different ways that Tim’s green eyes are described. Pine, emerald and forest green are just some of the ways which make it very vivid in my mind. Plus all the references to him being a beast! His scraggly beard and long unkept hair….ha ha I loved it! Then when he called Jessica his Bella i couldn’t keep the smile from my face. Jessica and her girls were great. Each of the girls had their own little quirk and their love of Tim was so evident! Seriously though Tim was my favorite character….well next to Clay (Southern Promises Book 1).
This is the last in the series and I can’t say enough nice words about it. I will miss all these characters but I can reread them again and again.

Imagine my surprise when I finished this book and found out that it was book 7 in the series. The beginning few chapters referenced characters that were clearing introduced in other books and I had my suspicions that I was missing something. However, I was able to understand the story line, so I continued reading. I could tell which characters were clearly the good guys and which ones needed to go. Other reviews say that this can be read as a stand-alone, I don’t really agree because you don’t get the back story of Rhea Winslow. Even Megan’s back story isn’t told in this book. So, I definitely think the books should be read in order. I do think this book is worth the price. Since this is my first book by Maddie Wade I am intrigued enough to read the others in this series.
This story was adventurous and dangerous and sexy. Daniel and Megan are hot together. I am not sure if these two are in the other books but wow they are good in this one. The other characters, the rest of the Fortis Security team, are amazing, entertaining, loveable. I know I am going to read the rest of this series. You should too!

I give Special Agent Charli (Undercover FBI Book 6) by Mimi Barbour, 5 stars.
Charli just got off a very stressful undercover assignment that came close to breaking her. She has been approved to take a month-long vacation to unwind and get herself back together. She is in no frame of mind to take on another case. But when a girl comes to her begging for help, she can’t say no. And when the girl needs to go into witness protection, she will only go if Agent Charli goes with her. Again Charli cannot say no to this girl, as much as she wants to. This leads her to Florida and the local police agent Blake Sebastian. Her cover is the fiance of this womanizing cop. She doesn’t need another man in her life. But how does he seem to charm his way into her life? And will they be able to keep this frightened girl safe?
This was an incredible book. I have not read this series before and had no idea what to expect. I can understand where Charli is at in the beginning of the book. She is mentally burned out. She needs a relaxing vacation. But at the same time, she cannot risk this girl’s life. Blake is also an engaging character. He is the stereotypical playboy, until he meets his match in Charli. The story is captivating – besides the possible romance between these two, there is plenty of suspense. There are multiple things going on in here, not just catching the bad guy and watching the romance try to bloom. I was on the edge of my seat until the end.
I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it to those lovers of romantic suspense.

Blind Magic, The Sanctuary Chronicles #2, by India Kells is paranormal romance featuring a witch and a werewolf. The author immediately jumps in with this story, creating an appealing story with dynamically different characters. As I continued through the story, I enjoyed the thoroughness the author had in parts of the book, setting it apart from similar books in this genre. This novel is full of suspense and drama, along with the dark moments that are within it. I have read other novels by this author and India Kells is very talented with her character creation, story development and enough intrigue.

Special Agent Charli is the sixth book in the Undercover FBI series by Mimi Barbour. This is the first book I have read by Ms. Barbour, but I plan to go back and read the first five books in this series. This story had me hooked from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down and it kept me up well into the night, but it was definitely worth the loss of sleep. FBI Agent Charli was looking forward to a vacation with her gramps, but when those plans go awry and she ends up taking care of a teenager in the witness protection program with a new partner. Things heat up with Blake as they try to solve the murder. This book is filled with action, adventure, mystery and romance. It is in the top five reads I have read this year. If you are looking for a good mystery with romance thrown in, this is the book for you.
Casstiel; Born of Lightning: Dragon Shifter (Dragonkind 52 Realms) by Sheri-Lynn Marean 5 out of 5 stars Castiel; Born of Lightning is the second book in the Dragonkind 52 Realms written by Sheri-Lynn Maren and it’s the first book that I have read by this author and it surely won’t be the last. The characters and amazing and the way they play off each other is great. I loved the storyline and even though this is a paranormal book I could picture my self in the story. The scenery was described perfectly and believable. As a bonded dragon shifter, Casstiel should have joined his soul mate in the afterlife when she was murdered. He did not. Fate changed the rules and tethered him to another female a druid witch. The enemy, or is she? Casstiel has lived in a haze of fury for ten long years as he searches for the source of the hated connection. Only when they finally cross paths, he’s faced with a horrifying truth and finds himself protective and fiercely attracted to her. Even worse, she makes him question what it is he really wants. Ashara is half human and half fire-born she has never soared the skies or shifted into her dragon. Instead, she’s been held captive as a breeder for the Ilyium, heart breaking more each time they take a child from her. Her only solace has been a connection to another that’s always kept her sane and warm in a cold, harsh life. When Asahra’s suddenly freed and confronted with her source of comfort; a large, sexy male who scares the hell out of her and wants her to release him, she is at a loss.
