Having read and enjoyed the previous books in this series I was looking forward to being back with Emma and Jeremy, solving yet more mysteries. As usual the descriptive narrative and historical details transported me back in time, making me feel immersed in the story. Set in January 1889, the Pinkertons and Emma find themselves involved in a heart-rending case. Emma and Jeremy find it challenging and emotionally draining, and it tests their investigating skills. However, their partnership is also tested as they struggle to support each other during such a difficult case. Independent sleuth Emma is soon involved in yet more mysteries, as three families reach out to her. Emma knows who the man is at the centre as each mystery links back to her past. Meanwhile, Emma’s safe home life with her tight family is put at risk when a past-haunted stranger arrives. An action packed storyline full of adventure, mysteries, crimes and a little romance, kept me happily turning the pages. The plot twists kept me guessing, and I was gripped throughout. This series keeps getting better and better!

Ocean’s Three is the second book in the Made in Heaven series by Elena Kincaid. I did read the first book in the series but it wouldn’t be absolutely necessary before delving into this book. I enjoyed the book overall. The three main characters were likable and the story read smoothly. Mostly, I loved the idea behind the series, it was truly a unique read. If you’re looking for a unique escape from reality with love and steam and can keep an open mind this quick read might be for you.

Emma and Jeremy find themselves in the middle of a very unsavory mystery involving children. While they work their way through finding the person in charge of these despicable crimes, they are brought back into contact with someone from Emma’s past. Sorting through everything drains them both physically and emotionally. When they are surprised with a much-needed beach vacation, they jump on the chance to go. As they part ways to work different cases, they think life will return to a more normal pace. However, a friend’s visiting family member starts acting a little too forward in his attentions to Emma. Will Jeremy make it back before this person crosses the line? Can they answer the questions that arise because of him?

I enjoy this series. This book was heavier than any of the others concerning the subject matter. While the topic was heavy, the author didn’t get bogged down in the details of how heinous some acts were, letting the reader come to their own conclusions. I appreciated that immensely. Emma is still her precocious self, and Jeremy loves her quirkiness. The reader gets to see a very protective side of Jeremy in this book that I liked too. Sometimes he seems to just go with the flow, but he really put the pants on with their unwanted guest. All in all, it was an excellent addition to this series!

This is such a good book! I loved that this was about tennis. I know nothing about tennis but the author was good about including enough information that I was able to follow along and that I feel like I actually learned something (a nice added bonus). I loved Chavez. I felt like he was a really well written character who was flawed in a really believable way. He was a tennis star who quit at the height of his career. When he bumps into Flynn everything changes. In so many different ways. This book has everything: suspense, drama, romance. I definitely loved this story and recommend it!

Notebook Mysteries – Suspicions

This is the latest book in the notebook mysteries. As with the other notebook mysteries, Emma and the others will be going through a series of twists and and turns as they investigate the latest crime that has fallen into their laps. This time Emma and Jeremy and their relationship will face major stress and strain. Emma is no stranger to intense investigations that play with her emotions and put her through stress. This time though this is not a simple investigation, this one with many layers with many threads that are all unraveling at once. This time there are lives of others, specifically children, at stake.
As always, this notebook mystery does not disappoint. I definitely recommend it. It can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the others to get a better idea of all the other characters as well as to not miss some good reads.

Suspicions is the fifth and latest instalment and sadly the last book of the Notebook Mysteries. I have read each one of the books in this series and have enjoyed them immensely. I suggest reading the books in order even though they could be read as standalones. This is definitely my favourite and the best book of the series.
This historical sleuthing story is set in 1880’s Chicago where this multi-layered characters and the storyline is full of intrigue and mystery, suspense and drama, danger and evilness.
Emma once again along with Jeremy are is thrown into the world of crime with some of the vilest people on earth. This one is a little darker than their other adventures as this involves kidnapped children and organised crime.
The story as always is well written and has you engrossed and invested with every twist and turn.
I look forward to seeing where Kimberly takes us next.

I knew this book was going to be a great one when it starts out….

“WHAM! Something hit Emma on he back of the head, and she pivoted toward the assailant. The old woman stopped her by jumping on her back, pulling her hair, and stabbing at her neck frantically with knitting needles.”

I do know how to knit but I prefer to crochet. This opening paragraph had me from the start and I just had to know what was up with this lady! It really wasn’t too significant in the overall story but still….I loved it!

Emma is at it again with her team of sleuthing family members and friends. This time, there are several children who’ve been kidnapped and it’s up to Emma and company to try to return them to their rightful homes. As they are working this case, other smaller cases come up that they are trying to quell. Many of those smaller cases have ties to the much larger case at hand.

The overall themes this book features are topics such as human trafficking, bigamy, and women empowerment.

This book could be read as a standalone but the reader would miss out on some of the dynamics of the characters. I have really enjoyed this series and this has been my favorite so far. I am looking forward to the next book that should be released later on this year.

This is the latest book in the Notebook Mysteries series and I think is probably my favourite by far. With each book that is released the series just gets stronger and stronger. It was so easy to engaged with these characters again and it fel like I had never stopped reading about them. I liked this story and how it developed throughout the course of the book. There seemed to be a lot going on but the author handled it with ease.
This far into a series I usually find the storylines and the characters start to feel a bit tired, but not so far with this series. This is a fantastic book and I cannot wait to read what comes next.

This is a series that I have enjoyed reading from the first book. Emma is back in this fifth book of the series. Emma is one of my favorites in this series. She is unique, strong and just adds so much to the story. I enjoyed how the author used details to pull me into the story from the beginning. I found this book to be a fast paced, well written, engaging story that is hard to put down. The characters made me feel as if I was right there in the story with them. There is great growth of them as well as the plot throughout. A story that is full of mystery, danger and most certainly takes you on an adventure that you don’t want to miss. This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up as her series is that great. I highly suggest reading the previous four books in this series to help your enjoyment of this series and the characters. I highly recommend this book and this author.

This is the 5th book in the Notebook Mysteries series and this series keeps getting better and better. The books can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading them all in order so you get the full story of the characters and their growth. We are back with Emma and Jeremy as they are faced with more Mysteries to solve. This books has more than 1 mystery happening which keeps the reader guessing all the way through the book. You never know what is going to happen or what will be uncovered next.
The author does a great job of researching the time period and this has paid off by really bringing the story to life.
With a mysterious case of kidnapped children, a enemy from the past trying to destroy her future and a new target firmly placed on Emma’s back, can Emma and Jeremy solve the cases and protect everyone involved or will these cases prove to be too much for our sleuth.
Emma is a courageous woman who isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty to find the answers she needs. Her determination to get to the bottom of each case really makes these stories a gripping read full of danger and drama.

This is the fifth book in this fantastic series by this author. Just as with the previous books, I loved this one as well. Another book I could not put down. I love how the author continues to weave the historical facts into the story in such a way that it is not too reminiscent of reading a textbook. She keeps you on your toes with all the plot twists and turns that she makes. For me, I am a huge fan of mysteries. This is a perfect mystery book as there are multiple ongoing at the same time. It is phenomenal. This is my favorite book from the series so far. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book.

Master Calabrea is a consulate master vampire and he is tasked with keeping his world safe. His task is to hunt down Isla who has turned her back on the new order and is a major enemy of the Vampires. When his is told to work with Tansia a physic who is a fierce protector of the vampire community. He feels things with Tansia that he’s never felt before. Calabrea doesn’t want a mate but he feels strongly about Tansia. Will they be able to save the Vampire’s and take down Isla before its too late and will Calabrea let down his wall and let his feelings for Tansia come out? Read this fast paced Vampire Romance!

Notebook Mysteries- Suspicions is the fifth book in the Notebook Mysteries series by Kimberly Mullins. This story brings intrigue and mystery that kept me guessing the whole way through. We follow Emma, and co, on their crime and investigation adventure. Bringing suspense, drama, danger, and tension- this quirky historical mystery had me engrossed right from the outset.
This latest ‘case’ will test Emma like never before, as well as putting undue pressure on her and Jeremy’s relationship. She has faced many challenges over the course of the series, but this time they seem to be that much more taxing on her mind, as well as her emotions. Emma is thrust into the fray with multiple investigations that all grapple for her attention at the same time. Multiple threads play out as we work through the intriguing layers. The past will collide with the future, a wily nemesis who’s bent on a twisted game of cat and mouse, then attracting a new target on her back, as well as the lives of kidnapped children who are hanging in the balance, means Emma is going to have to keep her wits about her if she has any hope of see it all through.
This could be read as a standalone, if you wanted, without feeling like you are missing anything major. But having said that, I highly recommend reading the previous books before starting on this one, as I feel that knowing what happened previously will give you a far greater appreciation of the characters, motivations, and series foundations- and will enhance your reading experience of this book.
Looking forward to seeing what Emma (and the team) get up to next….. Book #6 can’t come quickly enough.

Another fantastic book in this series. Emma and her friends solve three mysteries in this installment. The mystery & suspense are palpable. The tension can be cut with a knife (maybe even with Emma’s). I love the characters. Emma & Jeremy seem so good together. It’s nice to see familiar favorites. For the time period, it was interesting to see topics such as human trafficking and bigamy dealt with, as well as prison corruption. This is book 5 in the series and this is the first book of the series that I have read. That said let’s break it down. I feel that you could just start with this book and be fine. I however, would recommend reading the others in the series so you can understand the characters and their friends/families better. This book has adventures, thrills, and intrigue all weaved throughout the book. There is the storyline of the main characters but in that storyline is the main theme of the book. It is like getting two stories at one time. You are able to deep dive into the main characters and who/what they have gone through but yet still have the thrill of them chasing after a huge, nasty crime circle organization. The book will have you guessing as to who is doing what, what is going to happen next, and what else could these poor kids go through. I didn’t feel much of a lull throughout this book because it constantly kept my attention with what was happening. I had to keep turning the pages to find out what was going on next. I feel that I wasn’t prepared for how amazing this book was going to be. I also find myself going back to the first book in the series to read all of them. I feel like I will have a better understanding as to what drives the main characters. However, you get a good feel for that in the book, I just liked it so much that I need to know more. I highly recommend this book if you like organized crime, mysteries, thrillers, and just good suspense.

Braving Lily (True Platinum Series Book 7) by Morgana Bevan

Braving Lily us a wonderfully written Rockstar Romance and is part of the True Platinum Series which can be read as a standalone as each book in the series focuses on a different couple. While this author is fairly new to me the other books I’ve read have been wonderful this one is definitely my favorite yet. I have a soft spot for opposites attract and Rockstars. The storyline flowed so well that I felt everything the characters were going through. The characters are fun relatable and fully developed. There is definitely chemistry between the main characters and hesitation at first. Can a Rock Star and IT have a relationship? Can he open his heart again? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I literally read this in one sitting because I had to know what was going to happen next. I definitely look forward to reading more from this Author.

Abby has just celebrated her fortieth birthday and can here the biological clock ticking away, desperate to be a mother but when you live in a small town the options can be slightly limited on who you can choose to become your baby daddy but until one day mentioning it to her best friend, Nate he suggests something neither of them would have considered.

Nate has secretly crushed on his best friend Abby seen the first day he saw her but has never really gotten up the courage to push out of the friend’s zone, but this would be the perfect opportunity to see where it takes them, one time together and hopefully produce a baby, what could go wrong.

When Abby becomes pregnant it becomes really and both have feelings which they are afraid of voicing until one day in walks Abby’s ex, Colin and can the perfect world Nate has created come crashing down.

I loved this book; the story was well written, and I was so invested in these characters it was great to read. Abby knew what she wanted and went straight after it and the banter between her, and Nate was a joy to read. I loved the secondary characters of Capshaw and Jane and the pull between them through the book, I hope something happens or they both get a happily ever after.

I can’t wait to read the next book and also see how Abby and Nate got on with the baby.

This trilogy is a 5 star read. I was pulled into each story and didn’t want to stop reading until I was done. All of the characters added a great element to the stories. We do get some very mature and steamy moments. We get steaminess, cheating, age gap and so much more.
Sweet Temptations was the age gap babysitter read. Temptation was high in this one.
The Boss’s Daughter this one has black mail, when Richard is caught cheating on his wife. Will the Boss’s daughter keep his secret?
Menage a Trois, this one opens up a whole bunch of secrets. Richard finds out some desires that his wife has had. And it quickly takes a spin when the babysitter gets involved.
This series is definitely for 18+ and if you don’t like cheating this isn’t for you. The author does a great job with her writing and I can’t wait to read more from her. 1-click and get started today.

I had not read the first book in the series, but I will be remedying this immediately as book two was amazing. The author did a great job of sharing details from the first book, but not so much that I feel the story was spoiled. Nadine was an amazing heroine and her chemistry with Wicks was electric and the steamy factor was off the charts. He was such an amazing lead male who was sweet and sexy. He was such a supportive and caring guy which threw me, because I was expecting such a cocky guy, but he was just such a sweetheart. Nadine had such a rough go with her now ex and seeing her get such a fabulous guy, made it such an amazing story. I loved the title of the book, it cracked me up. I can’t wait to read the other books in the series and by the author.

In only 2 books, Tam DeRudder Jackson has become one of my favorite authors. Her writing style, descriptions, & creativity make her entirely phenomenal. I fell in love with this series with Talisman, & even as out of order as I’ve now read Rogue, I feel like I haven’t missed anything. Each individual character is so different from the others, in thought processes & opinions & mannerisms – truly an amazing accomplishment! With steamy sexy scenes, exciting battles, adventurous vibes, & a little magic going a long way, I’ll thoroughly enjoy devouring every single word in every single book just as much as I did this one!

Braving Lily was a great rock star romance. Lily is a famous rock star who auctioned off a date for charity. When she went to meet the date, she was stood up. For some reason, she cannot get over the fact that she was stood up and decided to confront the man. The man is Rhys, a divorced man who isn’t ready to date but is constantly being set up by his mother. After they do meet for the first time, both of them are intrigued with each other and decide to try a real date. While the two didn’t start on a great footing, they quickly start to really enjoy each other’s company. Lily is giving him feelings he hasn’t felt in quite some time, he finds himself trusting her very easily. He provides a private life and a non-caring about her fame mentality that makes her quickly fall for him. However, the problem both face is she is leaving for a year long tour so they try to keep it casual, but that is hard to do when feelings get involved. Can they both get over their past and present livelihoods to let this love story bloom?
I liked this story a lot. I liked how it started with a girl going after what she “wants”, but the guy not wanting her just because she is famous. They advance quickly in their dynamics and I love how there was no bull in the story. The author kept it straightforward, always moving, with one issue, and a solution. I feel that while they experienced miscommunication, she kept that part short and sweet so I didn’t get pissed at the characters. I thought the characters were great. Lily was a strong, but vulnerable girl who goes after what she wants and doesn’t apologize for it. However, she is also caring and honest about her life. Rhys was also a strong, caring, honest character. He was upfront about his expectations, and while he had insecurities, his confidence was sexier. I will also mention that the sex scenes were just spicy enough for a nice romance-type story.

Ale’s Fair in Love and War: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romance is the first book in Love on Tap series.
I always enjoy books by this author, and I was glad to grab a new book by her. This is a fun enemies-to-lovers romance. Cash owns a local brewery with his brother, and his arch-enemy Hollis owns the dog grooming business next door. The two have developed a mutual dislike of one another. The snark between them and the pranks they pull are great. You can feel the sparks growing between them. When they join forces to save Cash’s business, they are a power to be reckoned with. I enjoyed the characters and the back-and-forth between them. This is an entertaining romantic read with a HEA. I look forward to grabbing the next book in this series. With this author, I’m always guaranteed a good book.

I love rockstar romances! They’re one of my favorites! I instantly knew I was going to love this book and I’m SO glad I read it. Also it’s my first rockstar romance I’ve read where the rockstar is female. I LOVED IT!!!!! Amazing characters and I just all around loved the story. Can be read as a standalone so I’ve only read this book in the series. I’ll definitely be checking out the others! If you want a book with angst, second chances, opposites attract type of romance book, this is for you!
