My Pearl Heart by J.N. Sheats – Review by Angelina Frazzini

My Pearl HeartMy Pearl Heart by J.N. Sheats
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was the first book I’ve read by this author but man did I enjoy it! I was pulled in right from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down!

Jasmine, while she tries to ignore memories of her past, seemingly has everything going for her. She got a business, her best friend and her long term relationship. Sure, she has to cater to Cadence’s extreme whims often but all is as it should be. That is until she is given the best kiss of her life only to told seconds later that he is marrying her best friend. Everything seems to fall apart from there. James used to be quite the jerk but everyone can change given the chance. James just needs the chance. He has a dream to fulfill but in order to do so, he can’t have the one thing he really wants – Jasmine. Will Jasmine give him a chance? Will James be able to wait long enough to get everything he wants? What are their options?

I loved this book! It was such a great story. The characters are so realistic. Cadence is a jerk. I didn’t care for her character from the beginning but I know that’s the point. Everything was well written! Definitely recommend!

Delightfully naughty
I absolutely loved this book. The banter, characters and steam kept me glued from start to finish. There’s a lot going on but it creates more interest and develops each character in their own right. There is a high amount of steam and kink between several characters so be warned. I really enjoyed the multiple POV as this made me more vested in the characters. So much fun to read. Highly recommend!

Sharing His Nanny (Forever Our Girl Book #2) by Tori Chase – Review by Angela Hayes

Sharing His Nanny (Forever Our Girl, #2)Sharing His Nanny by Tori Chase
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5 Stars

Sharing His Nanny is the second book in the Forever Our Girl series by Tori Chase (aka-Deborah Garland). Tori Chase is Ms. Garland’s naughtier alter-ego, and if you listen closely enough, you really can hear the heat sizzling off these pages.
Here we get a sizzling hot and steamy reverse harem story with menage, age gap, billionaire, stepbrother, curvy girl, d/s kink, angst, chemistry, tension, and emotion. Told from multiple POV’s, makes this story even more intriguing as it helps give a broader perspective of what’s happening. It felt like an original take on the movie ‘Three Men and a Baby”…. only a much steamier and kinkier version.
I was instantly absorbed by the story, reading the entire book in one setting. I couldn’t get enough of this great story and all the sexy details- and found myself completely invested in the characters and the outcome of their story. Their chemistry is electric, and the sparks ignite into quite a captivating read!
Bring on Book #3.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Tori Chase!

This is the first book I have read by this author. Even though this is book 2 in the King of Screens series it can be read as a standalone.

Abi signs up for a reality TV show on a whim. She works 3 jobs and wants to help her sister financially so why not! Finn is a playboy, forced by his manager to go on this show in an attempt to save his image.

This contemporary Hollywood romance, forced proximity, marriage of convenience story is full of tension, witty banter, spice and romance! Will be doing back to read the first book.

The Taste of Light (The Winemakers Book 2) by Giovanna Siniscalchi – Review by Audrie Harrington

The Taste of Light (The Winemakers, #2)The Taste of Light by Giovanna Siniscalchi
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was reluctant to read this because I did not like Pedro after reading the first book in this series. I am so glad I gave it a chance because I loved learning more about Pedro as a character, about his past, what motivates him, and how he can change. A chance encounter brings Anne into Pedro’s home and the chaos of his past. Pedro doesn’t know who she is in the beginning and then learns that she is Anne Maxwell, the sister of Griffin whom he hates for taking his Julia away. They are drawn together and as she learns more about Pedro (sometimes through his brother Cris) she starts to open up to him too. This is war, hate, revenge, family, love, and romance all swirled together in a wonderful read!

I love RH and I’m so glad I read this! First book by this author and I wasn’t disappointed! I’m in love! The characters are great. The step mom sucks. But the men? My gosh! And I love when the female character is described as someone who’s my weight. I know how Stella felt when she was criticized about her weight. And I love when I can relate to a character! Makes the read that much better! And that spice? My goodness! I’m here for it. Stella is staying with her step brother and his 2 hot friends. I’m going to let you wonder what happened with that 😉 I highly recommend this book! Huge page Turner for me and I couldn’t put it down. I’ll be doing another re read of this sometime in the near future!

Via Mari does not disappoint with her series. The second book is full of well written characters, twists, turns, and romance. It is not the light hearted romance, but that deep dark romance. She captures the enemies to lovers essence laced into the story. This book picks up where the first ended. As such, I do recommend reading them in order. You won’t regret it!

This story focuses on mafia enemies, Dominic and Emelia. The cruel reality of the world of crime doesn’t slow a beat for anyone trapped in the dark web. All actions have consequences. Especially between rival families. That doesn’t mean all consequences end the way one thinks they might.

Does it end with good or bad consequences for our enemy mafia main characters? Start reading now to find out!

The Taste of Light is a wonderful historical romance novel. Set in Portugal, it follows the romance between Pedro Daun and Anne Maxwell. Pedro who also appears in The True Purpose of Vines; was not my favorite character, but I was looking forward to reading this second book in The Winemakers series.
I have to say, “wow”! I was routing for Pedro and Anne from their first encounter and felt their love build from beginning to end. I cannot wait to read the next in the series; and recommend reading.

This historical fiction romance takes place in Portugal, 1870. The book is written in vivid detail.
Julia Costa struggles to keep her vineyard productive after the death of her husband. Her financial struggles are only part of her burden as many other wineries are dealing with a plague that could also threaten Julia’s vineyard.
Griffin Maxwell is tasked with collecting Mrs. Costas debts in exchange for a partnership in a larger firm.
Their first meeting isn’t ideal, but it is one that neither of them can forget. The romantic tension that builds between these characters is palpable, and I couldn’t put this book down.

This was a really fun read! I really liked the authors writing style and how they jumped right into the story. Rhiannon and Emerys both do some growing throughout the story, which I always enjoy in a book. There were some unexpected turns in the story that I did not see coming. Rhiannon is such a strong character but discovers she has some weaknesses too. She was not expecting her life to work out the way it did and fights it till the very end. Emerys has such a kind heart and so much patience. At some point patience is not enough when being fought at every turn. This is a great quick read!

The Taste of Light is the second book in The Winemakers series and is a wonderfully written Historical Romance about, love, redemption and adventure. I absolutely loved this book and was hooked from the very first page. I had a hard time putting this down and found myself reading late into the night. This is Pedro’s and Anne’s story. Pedro mistook her for someone else and know they find themselves on the run because he being accused of a crime he didn’t commit. Anne sees good in all and fought her attraction to Pedro at first. These two definitely have chemistry between. Can these two have a relationship?I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Jasmine is such a strong character who has been through so much. She goes in to business with her best friend Cadence. I really didn’t like the character from the first mention of her. Because she comes from money, Cadence thinks she can pretty much do whatever. When Jasmine meets James she gets hooked right away before she finds out she can’t be with Him because of her best friend.
However James and Jasmine both have feelings for eachother. Will James be able to walk away from Cadence and his plans to be with Jasmine? I rated this 4 stars. I thought the book was long and couldn’t really keep me interested throughout.

Married Blind (Kings of Screen, #2)Married Blind by Morgana Bevan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Up for an adventure and a nice paycheck that will help her pay off her sister’s medical bills, Aby decides to apply to be on a reality TV show where she’ll marry a celebrity without meeting him first. After three months of marriage, she can leave and go back to her life in New York. Although she goes in with a small spark of hope that she might actually fall in love, her main goal is to take a much needed vacation from her three jobs now that her sister’s cancer has gone into remission, and collect the paycheck that will maybe finally allow her to get back to her own interests.
Finn gets dragged into the show because his playboy antics have gone too far and if he doesn’t find a way to earn some good press, he could be looking at the end of his acting career. Basically, his manager forced him into it. He’s relying on his acting skills to make it through the next three months, get himself out of trouble, and put the whole thing behind him.
Things heat up between the couple during a honeymoon staged by the show in Bora Bora, despite Finn’s best attempts to avoid giving into his desires. And Aby questions how her new husband actually feels about her after noticing the facades he puts on when the cameras are rolling. Could his kindness just be an act?
As the end of the show approaches, a decision must be made on whether they want to remain married or get divorced. Insecurities begin to creep in and the differences in their lifestyles threaten to pull them apart. Is three months living in a bubble together enough to make things work outside of the show? Can they each get out of their own way enough to let love in?
The characters are adorable and funny. The story feels realistic and comes with some steam. Looking forward to more from this author.

I was hesitant when starting this book as Pedro hadn’t been a character I particularly enjoyed in the first book. I found it hard to imagine how the author would turn him around. I am so pleased to be able to say she absolutely did! I cannot believe how much I connected with the character in this book and how much more I wanted to read about them. The character development was amazing to see and I really enjoyed every part of it.
The story was just as good as the characters in this book. It was exciting and jam packed with so much going on. I honestly didn’t think I would enjoy this book too much but I have come away thinking it is even better than the first. This is a great story that I cannot shout about enough!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Stella is on the brink of having everything she has ever wanted. Her plus-sized clothing line has received rave reviews and has a potential backer. Stella has a few problems. One, the backer hasn’t said yes yet. Two, the backer is technically her boyfriend. Three, said boyfriend has forgotten her birthday. Four, there is an outstanding loan to her stepmother that needs to be paid. When Stella goes to confront her boyfriend/backer about her birthday, Stella overhears him not only calling her fat and her clothes ugly, but that he is using her to improve his reputation to the woman with whom he plans to cheat on Stella.

Charles has just found out he is a father by the mom dropping the baby off at his office and taking off for an out of town job for a month. With his typical summer plans of debauchery ruined, Charles reluctantly agrees that Stella can stay with him to be his nanny. Charles has to fight his attraction to Stella because she is in name only his step-sister. He was an adult when his mother married Stella’s father and never lived with her, only seeing her at random holidays. Charles doesn’t know anything about Stella. When Charles’ friends, Jordan and Alex, also develop feelings for Stella everything becomes a confusing mess.

WOW!!! This one had me hooked from the opening paragraph. I absolutely loved the way Stella is proud of her curves and doesn’t cave to anyone’s opinions or beliefs about how she should live her life! The conversation, the wit, the humor, the interaction were all fantastic. The steam was so hot that I think I saw the words dripping off the pages as I read them. I also like the interspersing of characters from the other novels by this author. That was fun! This book was unputdownable. Fantastic, relatable characters with flaws and scars. Drama and tension that made the story more and palpable. Dayum!! This will be one of my favorites all year!!! Flipping phenomenal!!!!

A simple way to describe this book would be to say that the wonderful story woven by this extremely talented author will remind you of the power of redemption. I have said it before about this amazing author and I will say it again, her talent for creating such vivid images in your mind, leaving you feeling as if you really are in the time and place she has created, is truly captivating. The details contained within the story are so amazing and add so much to the reading experience. This is the second book in this particular series and can be read as a standalone but honestly do yourself a favour and read book 1 as well. You won’t regret a single moment spent reading any book this talented author writes.

Handle with care, hmmm one of my favorite books by Jodi Picoult. I HAD to read this one to see if the book lived up to its name. My goodness, did this book go about and beyond my expectations. Completely blew them out of the water.
The emotions described in this book, from each main character to each other, to the pain/hurt/anguish towards their patients. I could not get enough. I swear I almost fell off my seat because I kept scooting forward as I was reading.
I cannot wait to read more in this series, and any other books by this author!

I definitely found this book relatable. As a healthcare worker, you can never deal with grief the same as when you work in the field before or after quite the same as before choosing this profession. Also being from New Orleans, I found a personal sense of connection to the book even more so which is why I started reading it in the first place. It makes it that more familiar and more interesting to me to feel a strong connection. But besides the obvious connections, the storyline of these two’s story of departing onto foreign waters test their union in matters of life or death.
Another reason I loved this is because I went through something similar during coronavirus and my love life at the time but it was less theatrical than this book. But this book is a tale you’d never forget. It takes you down a rabbit hole of emotions. I absolutely enjoyed this. Great read!!!!

This was a really interesting read and one that I did enjoy overall. The way in which the story was written was really good and intriguing. The author wove a tale of complex relationships and I think it’s one of those stories that each reader will have a different feeling or interpretation of what they think the main character Jasmine should do or have done. I will admit that the story was slow to start but really did begin to pick up pace from around the half way mark. A really interesting read that will definitely take you on a rollercoaster of emotions.

After reading book 1 in this series I was really looking forward to this one and I wasn’t disappointed. Again the author transported back in time to 1872 Portugal. I love historical romance reads but for me this series has been so great to read because of the setting – I usually read about London and very rarely anywhere else. The author paints an amazing historical picture with her wonderful words and I loved every minute of what I read. I was looking forward to finding out more about Pedro and I loved his POV chapters, I really felt as though I got to know him and yes I did end up falling in love with him! Anne was a sweet character, she may have been young and a little naive but there was just something about her and I loved her and Pedro together!
Overall a great second book in this series and one that I would highly recommend!
