I cannot say enough good things about this author or this book in particular!
I have not read this author before now and now I am hooked! I cannot get enough! I also cannot wait for the next book in this series.
The intensity of this book just jumps off the pages! The emotions of each character is so vividly felt and the story line has a hook from start to finish! There are villains, crime and mystery… just what every good story needs!

Ritual Obsession by R.L Dunn is the first in the series and so very well thought out! I really enjoyed this book and all that the author spun into the tale! Mystery, Thriller, Suspense, and Romance all rolled into one where tensions are high while a city is in crisis. I could not put this book down! It was perfect to curl up with and get lost in! Well thought out, and well executed, where I was on the edge of my seat more than once!

3.9/5 Stars This was my first book by this author and it’s set in Australian. There are a few cultural differences between the book setting and my home country, but overall they aren’t large enough to be confusing. I felt the book jumped in a serious situation quickly and felt almost overwhelmed at the beginning. I found myself having to reread to make sure I understood the situation correctly. I think if the book was a little more of a slow burn, I would have enjoyed it more. The seriousness of the custody battle seemed rushed and left me with questions at times.

This might be one of my new favorite authors. Crime novels are some of my favorite genres and this book was in my top 3 of favorite crime books. The character development and growth was amazing. You could feel everything Rose, Bobbi, and Max felt. They were so well written. The storyline was simply put … intense. You instantly hate Andrew as he seeks out Bobbi, he is the first villain. The bathtub murderer is then revealed and you encounter villain number two. The author successfully blended both antagonists storylines the complete our protagonists. The ending was equally great and frustrating. I will be counting down the days until the next book is released.

This book really grabbed my attention right away, the cover was full of vibrant colors, the synopsis was intriguing and of course I was super excited for a female detective as the main character. This story was packed full of action, great character development, vivid details and so much more that I physically couldn’t put it down. While I have read a couple of books by this author this one is definitely my favorite and I can’t wait to see what our author comes up with next.

I was pleasantly surprised with Something About Aimee. S. E. Smith did an amazing job of drawing the reader in from the first chapter and never letting go! I found myself on the edge of my seat, invested in the romance between Aimee and Qadir. The descriptions of the different settings makes the reader feel like you are on the streets with Aimee or in the desert with Qadir. S. E. Smith uses great character building and an opposites attract romance, which I absolutely loved. There are so many twists and turns in the story, but somehow, it all meshes well. Something About Aimee is like a modern-day Cinderella mixed with a crime drama, complete with quick love and sneaky international criminals! I cannot wait to read more books by S. E. Smith.

She is determined to start over with a clean slate and do it on her own, but she soon learns she doesn’t want to do it without TJ. TJ has recently returned home after retiring from a successful NFL career and wears his heart and his sleeve, which has resulted in a ver bad relationship and a hard break up. I was drawn to this novel originally because I looked forward to a book with a female detective as a main character. So many novels have your typical, tortured male detective and I was looking forward to a different approach to your average crime thriller. I really enjoyed the book as early as the first few pages. The author uses a lot of clever metaphors and the style of writing seemed unique to me. Maybe just because I read so many of the same authors, it was a treat to read something from someone new to me. The author has a way of painting a vivid picture- this makes the trigger warning at the bottom of the synopsis all that more important. While there is some graphic subject matter, the author really does navigate the topics in a well written, entertaining matter that reads as smoothly as watching a crime movie on the big screen. The book quite literally left me wanting more and I look forward to book number two.

Part 2 picks up after Part 1…I highly recommend reading this series in order to get to know that back story lines and characters. Chains is rescued after being held captive, but the Grimm Wolves can only do so much. Chains is tormented by his past heavily. In order to get back to be with his two loves, Winnie and Jackson, Chains must find out who is responsible for the captivity.
I love Winnie, Jackson and Nicholas (Chains) together as a triad. You truly feel the love between the three..but also the demons that haunt Chains..my heart…. The torture, intense and heartbreaking moments that Chains endured I could only possibly imagine.

I have read many books by this author and have really enjoyed each and every one. Ritual Obsession is a romantic suspense tale. This great story is enthralling and engaging and it certainly had me engrossed. The danger, suspense and mystery, lies and deceit are raw and innocent lives are being taken because of one evil monster. I spent a lot of time with my heart in my throat and my jaw clenching whilst reading this book. It is a thrilling and enticing read that is nonstop action from the start to finish. R.L. did a masterful job of weaving it all together to come out with a story that will have your heart pounding and your emotions on high alert.

This book is about Bobbi, her new job as a NYPD agent and her coworkers at NYPD. In this book these NYPD agents are trying to catch a serial killer while going through multiple life changing events. Bobbi and Rose are an excellent example of strong relatable female characters and make you feel for them when they go through heartbreak and traumatizing experiences. I really enjoyed the steady progress of the story and the fact that there are multiple storylines. It definitely hits all the marks but it could be very heavy sometimes as it touches the subject of murder, sexual assault and the aftermath of surviving sexual assault. The characters are funny, relatable and intriguing. I gotta admit that the character Max stole my heart and his relationship with Bobbi had me going through all the feelings. On the other hand some characters will make your blood boil (no spoilers so I’ll let you decide who they are by yourself). This book is definitely a great start to the series. I can’t wait to read more from RL Dunn.

I went into this one not really knowing what to expect as I’m not usually one to pick up a “cop drama” type novel. Boy, do I need to rethink that. Dunn writes amazing, well-rounded characters, and fleshes them out as they “come into view”. By this I mean as they become more important to the story and the main characters, which I love! I’ve always despised having an entire cast named and described to me, then having to come back some hundred pages later when some of them become pertinent. Our main characters are Two female detectives, Rose and Bobbi. This follows them through both their personal and professional time while working the case of the Bathtub killer. Both women experience some major growth as characters and we really get to see that. There are some graphic scenes, and the cliffhanger at the end definitely had me screaming at my kindle app! Well played Dunn, well played.

Rose is a no-nonsense, do it by the book, and a good cop. She is partnered up with “Bobbi,” a society girl who is making waves for her stellar aim with her gun. Rose is not happy about any of this, but with a serial killer on the loose, she will have to put her feelings about this partnership on the burner. The “Bathtub Murderer” is taking out brunette haired, hazel eyed girls and guess who on the squad fits that bill? Bobbi. Join Rose and Bobbi in this murder thriller. They deal with lose, love, friendship, and some tragedies. Will they catch this psycho or will the psycho catch them? A must read and I cannot wait to read the rest of the series!

This is part 2 of Chains story and I could not wait to dive right in, especially after reading part 1 (A Tormented Man’s Soul). Chains has been through so much in life that up until now he hasn’t been able to truly see all the good in it. We get to see so much growth in his character in this book. This story brought out so many emotions and I had a hard time putting it down once I started. The author did an exceptional job pulling me into the storyline and connecting me to the characters with her attention to detail. I have loved every book in this series and it is my recommendation that you read them. This is a must read.

This book is a great, steamy, standalone romance story that is pretty quick to read but a good read nonetheless. Although I think the book could have benefited from a little bit more depth at times I still found myself pulled in by the characters. This, for me, is the perfect kind of book to get lost in one afternoon. Mia and Dylan really were what this book was all about. Their story and their connection was believable and easy to get behind. The author has clearly set up the basis for other books in the series, with periphery characters from this book, and I am already looking forward to reading them.

This book was much more detailed and involved than I was expecting. I went into reading it thinking I was going to get a nice, simple romance story and instead got a book that gave me so much more. I loved the characters in the story. They all had so much about them that even the secondary characters seemed to stand out. The story was really well developed. The author seemed to have thought everything through and pushed the story forward as it needed. This was a surprisingly good read that I thoroughly enjoyed.
What a doozy of a story! My heart was breaking and aching for Chains. In here we find out what happened to him and can he be fixed or redeemed. I enjoyed reading this second part of the duet. I really felt for Chains during this story. This took me on a lot of ups and downs and is highly emotional.
I enjoy how this is told from different points of view. We get to catch up with all the characters and see their thoughts and feelings on Chains’ recent problems. We also meet a lot of other new secondary characters. I would be interested in a couple spin off as we meet a few other MC
This is the second half of the story of Chains, Winnie and Jackson. I suggest reading the whole series as we meet all the characters in previous books. If not that… at least read the first book of this duet. This is a darker story and not for the faint of heart.
Overall it is a perfect conclusion for these three characters. I loved how the story flowed along nicely. I read it very quickly as I became invested in their lives. I was particularly interested in what Wild would end up doing. He was such a interesting random character.

I really liked this book! Romance mixed in with suspense is a favorite of mine! This story follows a group of cops while they hunt for a killer. I really like how immersed you get into this story because you get to experience what is happening around each person, even the killer. I love when you are able to get a full view of the story like this! There is a sequel so of course I am left wondering what happens next! I am ready to dive into the second book and figure it out, it will be here in August! Can’t wait!

Ritual Obsession (Blood Obsession Book 1) by R.L. Dunn 4 stars
Ritual Obsession is the first book in this series. It is a mixture of romantic suspense and thriller. It is an intense story that follows Bobbi, a wealthy debutant turned cop, and her New York City homicide unit. There are several sub plots which pull together to form this well written story. Bobbi has a lot to deal with including the growing romance between her and her co worker Max, her ex lover who can’t take no for an answer and most dangerously a serial killer’s obsession with her. The book is full of twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I’m definitely looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

Mia is intrigued by a stranger that comes in to the gallery during an exhibit. Although there is a spark there, she expects to never see him again…until she goes to deliver her favorite piece to its buyer (who happens to be the handsome stranger).
Dylan is enthralled with the woman from the gallery…and the best part is that she has no idea who he is. What starts out as a hookup quickly begins morphing into real feelings and thoughts of the future.
However, when a huge bombshell is dropped, Dylan believes that Mia may be just like everyone he has dated in the past. Is Mia really behind everything? And if she’s not…will she ever forgive him?
This book was an easy read that was fast paced and quite enjoyable. Mia and Dylan had immediate chemistry that wove its way through the entire story. The secondary characters were great and I’m not surprised that they will be the next book in the series. I am looking forward to reading their story next.

This book jumps right in to the steamy aspects and carries you along through the romance and instant attraction between Mia, a museum curator, and Dylan Knight, mega-mogul.
They meet at the gallery Mia works for, and while she is intensely attracted to Dylan, she has no clue who he is. They share some suggestive looks and discussion, only for Dylan to leave abruptly. She is disappointed, but has some new material for her “alone time” – as does Dylan. Things heat up quickly and move fast.
When Dylan has an extremely rare and expensive piece stolen, the detective immediately points to Mia and the distrust, fear, and angst come into play. Will Dylan and Mia get to the bottom of who stole the art piece? Will they be able to trust one another again? Will their chemistry and feelings for one another carry them through?? Steamy summer read, lots of drama and passion and emotion.

OMG!! This book had me hook, and line, and totally obsessed with finishing it!! Roberta “Bobbi” Wallace was a debutant from a very wealthy upbringing. When her husband dies Bobbie is dared into making something of her life, other than a social light. When Bobbie announced she was joining NYPD no one close to her took her seriously, not even her parents. After a few years on the job, Bobbie is transferred to the 10th precinct and paired with the hardest detective there. The first case that Bobbie is assigned is a serial killer case. High-end escorts are ending up in bathtubs dead with no trace of evidence. The issue is they all have the same look to them. The even bigger issue is the escorts all look very similar to Bobbie. While navigating the new position of detective, still getting over the death of her husband, the serial killer case, Bobbie’s childhood boyfriend thinks that he is entitled to her. While Bobbie is not looking to make her life more complicated or put her job on the line, she ends up getting close to Max, another detective in her unit. While there are a lot of different things going on in this book, everything ties together. The author will have you sitting on the edge of your seat, there are some heavy emotional twists that could be a trigger. I can not wait to read the next book in the series to see what happens to the serial killer, Bobbie and if Max can keep his promise to Bobbies parents!

Wow, honestly I am reeling from reading this book. Managed to read it in a day, literally could not put it down for too long. Aimee aka Wheels, found abandoned as a new born on Dai de los Muertos, taken on and raised by her finder Yolanda, Wheels an honestly open and free spirited look on life; and it is no surprise that she lives life to the full. Living in an empty building looking after a family of cats, she has such a wide and diverse group of friends. From gang leaders and their grandparents, to shop keepers and Jazz singers the group of people that surround her is as colourful as it is diverse. Not held back by the constraints of a normal life she works as a parcel courier using her skateboard to get around. Aimee is a true heroine, showing us how strong a female can be. Sheikh Qadir, crown prince and business man cannot be further from the life Aimee lives. He is transfixed by the small in stature but larger than life girl that attempts to and does save his life when he is targeted by terrorists. The one his Chosen, his feisty saviour. Their relationship is destined to be left incomplete when Aimee is taken into witness protection as her life is threatened after she sees a dirty cop kill his partner whilst trying to get hold of photos of mercenaries and their crimes in Qadirs home country. After years later due to witness protection, when Qadir finds Aimee is still alive, I found myself cheering for the couple as they try to find their way back together. The story is fast paced and hooks you straightaway, the characters are constantly growing and evolving, showing human strength and emotion. The world that is built by the author is bright and intriguing. Definitely a book worth reading, I hope the rest of the series is as engaging.

Holy Moly! This Book was epic! I could not let this one be put down, for the plot as well as the characters that the book contained! The writing was genius and full of cleverness! The book was indeed a thrill ride, and left me wanting more as I turned the pages. Excellent plot and development! Sensational!
I love a good crime book, but this one really blew me away. The romance added nicely to the story as well, and I felt this book did a good job of the in depth look of what goes on on the side of the police when dealing with serial killers or any of the sort. Loved Max and Bobbi. Both different, but each had a different affect on me with their personalities. In all honesty, loved them both for which they were! The character development was strong, and the serial for what he was, was unlike any other person I have read in other books. He was well developed and was a critical character that added to the story and made the plot what it was. The book was full of twists and turns, and this is a book that left me with a spine tinging sensation. Amazing read and gifted author for sure to create this book! Truly loved it!
This book is by far a must read. If you love crime and a well built up character development and shocks and twists as you read, then for sure this book is for you! Highly recommend this book and author!

I was immediately intrigued by the synopsis of this book and I was not disappointed either. The story of Ella, Jake and Tessa is captivating. I admire Ella and her tenacity, dedication, and loyalty to her sister and niece. She is willing to do whatever it takes, no matter how many hurdles she must jump, in order to fulfill her sister’s last wishes.
Jake, also displayed strong dedication and loyalty to his family ties and ensuring his relatives were not being taken advantage of. As the two face each other in the legal battlefields, they also cannot dismiss the growing attraction between them. The emotions and feelings they possess are conflicting, to say the least. Twists and turns are around every corner, and Ella and Jake are lost in the maze of lies while seeking the truth.

Down on her luck art curator, Mia, meets a handsome man, Dylan, at her galleries showing and they have instant attraction. However, is this good luck or not when an item suddenly gets stolen and Mia is being accused things get crazy. Who will end up on top and who will end up in a jail cell. This book is one crazy ride and shows how peoples insecurities can run their lives but also how you can overcome them. I can’t wait for Marina’s next book.

I really enjoyed this gripping crime story. This story is a chilling, twisted read. The author does an amazing job with the characters and the storyline. It really gives an insight into what life is like in the police force. Even those this is a crime story about a serial killer there is also a romance blossoming between Bobbi and Max. They are work colleagues and even though Bobbi doesn’t want to mix business with pleasure the connection between them is undeniable.
Bobbi has joined a new team of detectives but she’s not going to be welcome with open arms. Her new partner doesn’t want her so she makes her life hell from the beginning making Bobbi feel unwanted. There is a member of her team that makes her feel welcome though and that’s Max. The connection between Bobbi and Max is undeniable. When there is a serial killer called The Bathtub Murder on the loose. Bobbi and Max’s department are on the hunt. When it turns out that Bobbi fits the type of victim the killer likes, she wants to work undercover to help capture this killer. Max doesn’t like this idea and doesn’t want Bobbi in harms way. With everything in place for Bobbi to go undercover will Max be able to keep her self from The Bathtub Murderer and stop him from attacking again, or will the murderer attack again and take the woman that Max is giving his heart too? Will Bobbi’s partner Rose ever be able to accept her and see her as an equal partner instead of a spoilt rich kid.
